Magdalena Bay to Release New Songs in Nice Day Box Set

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Magdalena Bay have released another pair of new songs: “This Is the World (I Made It for You)” and “Nice Day” follow three other double-singles the band has shared in the autumn. Listen to the new tracks below.

Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin kicked off their recent run of productivity, in late September, with “Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes.” They next released “Human Happens” and “Paint Me a Picture,” in mid-October, and “Unoriginal” and “Black-Eyed Susan Climb” on Halloween. All eight songs are now being collected in a box set called Nice Day: A Collection of Singles. They’re available separately as 7″ vinyl singles, too.

Regarding today’s new songs Tenenbaum and Lewin said, “This is the final pair. (We made it for you.) Thank you for listening to these songs; it’s been a nice day to tangle with you.”

The Nice Day songs follow Magdalena Bay’s Imaginal Disk. They remain on tour in support of the album.

Magdalena Bay Share New Songs “Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes”: Listen

Magdalena Bay are back with two new songs. Check out “Second Sleep” (which comes with a music video directed by Amalia Irons) and “Star Eyes” below.

“Second Sleep” and “Star Eyes” are Magdalena Bay’s first tracks since releasing Imaginal Disk last year. “‘Second Sleep’ and ‘Star Eyes’ are two songs we made around the end of Imaginal Disk—both a sort of spiritual successor to the album’s mood and emotional arc,” Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin said in a press statement. “We like how they complement each other, so here they are as a pair.”

Magdalena Bay are continuing their Imaginal Mystery Tour with shows across North America in September and October. They’ll also perform at Denver’s Mission Ballroom on New Year’s Eve, before heading to the United Kingdom and Europe in 2026. See the duo’s tour dates below.

Check out “The 50 Best Albums of 2024,” featuring Imaginal Disk at No. 19.

Here’s what the streaming service has to offer NFL fans and the most affordable way to get in on the action.

How to Stream Browns vs. Packers Online Without Cable: Sling TV Pricing and Channels

Sling Blue is one of the best streaming options for NFL games with the service’s low monthly price and selection of channels, including Fox (just confirm it’s in your local TV market) and NFL Network, along with dozens of other sports, news and entertainment networks (see full list here). This plan is half off for the first month, so while prices for Sling Blue regularly start at $45.99 per month, new subscribers can get the first month starting at $23 per month.

The most affordable way to gain access to the Browns vs. Packers game via Fox is with the Sling Select plan. This package starts at $19.99 per month and has access to 10+ channels, including NFL Network, National Geographic, FS1 and Fox News (see full list here and confirm local channels here).

For even more sports coverage, opt for one of the above base plans and add the Sports Extra plan, an additional $11 per month. The add-on includes channels like NFL RedZone for highlights, updates, scores, standings and stats. To sign up for this add-on (and see everything it has to offer), navigate to your base plan of choice on the Sling homepage. Then, add the “Sports Extra” option when customizing the plan.

Finally, to confirm the Browns vs. Packers game is playing on your local Fox network, check the game finder on Sling’s NFL main page.

The Best Streaming Deals on Sling: Bundle and Save

To get even more channels, streaming services (like HBO Max) and, ultimately, the best bang for your buck, opt for one of Sling’s other bundle offerings. See here for the plans to consider and their corresponding savings, and here to learn more about watching sports with Sling TV.

Prices and channel availability depend on your local TV market.

A Week In The Bay Area On A $715,000 Joint Income

by jummy84 August 28, 2025
written by jummy84

Occupation: Medical director
Industry: Healthcare
Age: 32
Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Salary: $170,000 base and bonus
Joint Income/Financial Setup: $715,000. My bonus last year was $70,000, but it can be highly variable. My husband, J., is a physician and makes $475,000 a year. We share all our finances, and our paychecks go directly into our joint accounts, which we use to cover all expenses. We still do have our individual personal accounts, which we both keep at a minimum level, but otherwise don’t regularly deposit money into.
Assets: Primary home equity: $1,000,000; total joint savings and checking: $53,900; my total retirement accounts (401(k), 503(b), etc); $110,000; total money market/investment/brokerage accounts: $96,000.
Debt: Mortgage: $1,400,000; car: $28,700; J.’s student loans: $20,000.
Paycheck Amount (2x/month): $3,900 (post taxes and 401(k) contribution deducted).
Pronouns: She/her

Monthly Expenses

Housing Costs: Mortgage: $11,800
Home Maintenance: $675 (cleaner, landscaping, pest control etc.).
Utilities: ~$150
Loan Payments: J.’s student loan: $1,024; car loan payment: $781.50.
Wifi: $65
J.’s Disability Insurance: $223
Car Insurance: $151.60
ClassPass: $20
Nuuly: $107 (clothing rental service).
Peloton: $130
Cell Phone: $0 (we’re both on our respective family’s plans, so our parents pay).
Home Alarm System: $33
Streaming Services: $0 for Hulu and Netflix — these are shared among friends and family; we provide HBO Max (free from prior employer).
401(k) Contribution: $1,830

Was there an expectation for you to attend higher education? Did you participate in any form of higher education? If yes, how did you pay for it?
Yes. My parents are immigrants and value higher education as a way to build success in the United States. They both went to college, and my dad went to a very competitive graduate school program, despite his humble beginnings and had to support himself financially through it. I went to a private undergraduate program and medical school, and I was extremely fortunate that my parents paid for most of it.

Growing up, what kind of conversations did you have about money? Did your parent(s) educate you about finances?
Both my parents are self-employed in the same industry, so they spoke of their work and compensation often. However, I don’t think they ever sat me down and taught me how to plan a budget and stick with it, or other practical advice.

Deion Sanders’ Son Shilo Waived By Tampa Bay Buccaneers After Throwing Punch During Preseason Game

Shilo Sanders has been waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, just months after signing with the team as an undrafted rookie.

The 24-year-old safety, son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, was released on Sunday (Aug. 25), just one day after being ejected from a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. The ejection came after Shilo threw a punch at tight end Zach Davidson, following a rough block during a play.

While no one from the Sanders family has publicly commented on Shilo’s release, Deion did share a post shortly after the news broke, offering a prayer for his children.

Meanwhile, a clip of the incident between Shilo and Zach Davidson has been making rounds online, with many criticizing the ejection and arguing that Shilo wouldn’t be facing such harsh consequences if he weren’t a Sanders, or Black.

Despite the setback, his agents say they remain hopeful another team will claim him off waivers.

What are your thoughts on Tampa Bay waiving Shilo?
