Paparazzi blast Jaya Bachchan’s ‘gandi pant’ remark: ‘Apni self respect rakh ke, inki family ko boycott karte hain’

by jummy84 December 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Actor Jaya Bachchan’s hot and cold relationship with the paparazzi has been the subject of major chatter online. And on Monday, things heated up with her latest remarks.

Jaya Bachchan

Talking to journalist Barkha Dutt at an event, she was asked about her equation with paps, and she replied she has ‘zero relationship’ with them, “I am the product of a media. Who are these people? Are they trained to be representing the people of this country? You call them media? I come from media. My father was a journalist. I have immense respect, tremendous respect for such people.”

What she added next kickstarted a controversy, “Magar yeh jo bahar drainpipe tight, gande gande pant pehen ke, haath mein mobile leke… they think that because they have a mobile, they can take your picture and say what they want. And the kind of comments they pass — what kind of people are these people? Kahan se aate hain? Kis tarah ka education hai? Kya background hai?”

HT City reaches out to the paparazzos, and they are naturally angry.

Pallav Paliwal says, “It’s unfortunate, what she said. Her grandson Agastya’s film Ikkis is going to release, what if the paps don’t come to cover the promotions. Amitabh ji comes outside his house every Sunday, no leading media covers it, it’s us paps. Judging someone on the basis of their appearance, people who work tirelessly day and night… she might be of the opinion that we aren’t ‘media’, but we are social media. Print and electronic se zyaada fast dekhe jaane wala medium hai. If Jaya ji can promote Agastya’s film without paps, on her own, by posting on her social media pages, then okay. Aap itni badi hasti hain, aisa nahi bolna chahiye tha.”

Manav Manglani, who has been in the business for long, says, “I respect Jaya ji a lot. But she has not yet evolved with the digital era. The transformation from print to digital is hard for her to grasp, maybe her kids and grandkids could make her understand. At the same time, the sudden influx of some YouTubers and individual content creators with good followers has created some chaos in the field, these guys go to any extent to get some kind of response from celebs which would make their video viral, which is not ethical at all and needs to be stopped immediately.

Varinder Chawla says, “I have been in the business for so many years, and respected whenever the celebs said something. Ranbir Kapoor said to not pap Raha, same for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s Dua. In 2023, in fact, I had got a video of Amitabh ji from Delhi. Ek fan selfie ke liye aage badhi, unhone bure tareeke se dhakka de diya, chillaye. Seeing his age and image, I sent it to his PR, who requested me so much to not post it, so I didn’t. Humne unki izzat rakhi. I am not saying all the boys on field are right, I have told them to mind their language earlier too. But she should know- the paps which she is targeting, are they all paps, or YouTubers and fans in the mix too? Kisi ko aise bura mat boliye. I told my colleagues apni self respect rakhte hain, aur inko boycott karte hain.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Journey in Showbiz So Far

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

There are stars, and then there’s Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, a name that carries its own kind of grace. Over the years, she has become more than an actress or a beauty queen; she’s become a symbol of poise, determination, and effortless elegance. Born on November 1, 1973, in Mangalore, Karnataka, Aishwarya’s story is one of quiet ambition. She didn’t chase fame, it found her, drawn by her intelligence, charm, and that unmistakable spark in her eyes.
Before she ever stepped in front of a movie camera, she had already won over the world. In 1994, at just 21, she was crowned Miss World, carrying India’s name across continents. That victory wasn’t just about a crown, but it was about the confidence and grace with which she represented her country. Even then, there was something deeply dignified about her, a sense that she was destined for far more than beauty pageants. That moment marked the beginning of a journey that would blend art, ambition, and an ageless kind of grace.
From Ramp to Reel

After her Miss World win, it was only natural for Aishwarya to enter films. Her first appearance was in the Tamil film Iruvar (1997), directed by Mani Ratnam, a filmmaker known for bringing out depth in his characters. The same year, she made her Bollywood debut with Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. While her early films didn’t all become hits, there was no doubt that she had screen presence, the kind that couldn’t be ignored. People noticed her expressions, her elegance, and the quiet dignity she brought to her performances.

Then came Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, a film that completely changed everything for her. As Nandini, she captured the innocence, passion, and heartbreak of love with such sincerity that audiences couldn’t look away. The chemistry between her and Salman Khan became the talk of the town, but more than that, Aishwarya was now being recognized as a serious actress. The film earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and marked the beginning of her golden era in Bollywood.
Success and Stardom

In the early 2000s, Aishwarya continued to prove she was more than just a pretty face. With films like Taal (1999), Devdas (2002), Guru (2007), and Jodhaa Akbar (2008), she showed incredible range, from emotional depth to strong willpower. Her portrayal of Paro in Devdas was unforgettable. The film, a grand Bhansali classic, premiered at Cannes and won her global acclaim. Even the critics who once doubted her acting had to admit that Aishwarya had truly arrived, and how.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Journey of Grace and Stardom

One of the reasons Aishwarya became so admired was her ability to blend old-school grace with modern ambition. She could play a royal queen or a modern woman with equal conviction. Off-screen, she carried herself with dignity, never letting controversies define her. Even as fame grew, she stayed grounded, something that made people respect her even more.
Stepping into Hollywood

While most Indian actors were still focused on making it big at home, Aishwarya had her eyes set on the world. She became one of the first major Bollywood stars to cross over to Hollywood. Her first international film, Bride & Prejudice (2004), directed by Gurinder Chadha, brought her global recognition. She later appeared in The Mistress of Spices (2005), The Last Legion (2007), and The Pink Panther 2 (2009).

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Journey of Grace and Stardom

Though these projects varied in success, Aishwarya’s presence in them mattered, she represented India on an international platform at a time when Bollywood was still new to global audiences. Western media often described her as the most beautiful woman in the world, and she carried that title with a quiet confidence that never felt arrogant.

Queen of Cannes

No journey of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is complete without mentioning Cannes. She made her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 when Devdas was screened there, and since then, she has been a regular. Over the years, her Cannes looks have become iconic. Whether it was her golden Michael Cinco gown, her butterfly-inspired ensembles, or her elegant saris, she always made heads turn.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Journey of Grace and Stardom
But Cannes wasn’t just about fashion for her, it was about representation. She was one of the first Indian women to walk that red carpet proudly as herself, not as a plus-one or novelty. She opened doors for so many others who came after her, proving that Indian cinema belonged on the global stage too.

Love, Family, and Balance

In 2007, Aishwarya married actor Abhishek Bachchan in a beautiful, much-talked-about ceremony. Together, they became one of Bollywood’s most admired couples. In 2011, they welcomed their daughter Aaradhya, and Aishwarya gracefully took a step back from the spotlight to focus on motherhood. But when she returned to films with Jazbaa (2015) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), it felt like she’d never left. Her performances were mature, layered, and carried the wisdom of experience.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Journey of Grace and Stardom
Even today, she continues to make selective but impactful appearances, from films to fashion shows. What stands out is her consistency. Through every phase, Aishwarya has remained true to herself, her elegance, confidence, and kindness. She represents a rare mix of timeless beauty and lasting talent.
After all these years, she has proven time and time again that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan isn’t just a name, she’s a legacy. From a young girl in Mangalore with big dreams to an international icon representing India on the world stage, her story is one of passion, perseverance, and grace. She’s shown that true success isn’t just about fame, it’s about how you carry it, how you evolve, and how you stay grounded through it all.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Journey of Grace and Stardom

As she celebrates another year of her incredible life and career, one thing is clear, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will always be more than just a star. She’s an emotion, a symbol of beauty with substance, and an inspiration to generations who dare to dream big while staying humble.

Happy Birthday, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has created a legacy that cannot be summed up in words. Apart from his professional accomplishments, the Bachchan family is also regarded as one of India’s most sought-after and regal Bollywood families. Over the years, despite their impeccable reputation, once in a while, news and reports erupt of something that happened in the past involving the Bachchans that gets the fans curious. One such incident is that Amitabh Bachchan had once promised to build a college in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s name. The construction had even begun on the property, but was reportedly abandoned later.

The movie star has captivated audiences with his acting skills for nearly sixty years. Amitabh Bachchan is still going strong in his 80s and making a lasting impression on the silver screen.

Amitabh Bachchan married Jaya Bachchan, a stunning Bengali woman, in 1973. Their two children, Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan, are their blessings. Abhishek married actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, while Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda. Jaya and Amitabh are the proud grandparents of Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda, and Aaradhya Bachchan.

What Happened To Amitabh Bachchan’s Promised College?

When Amitabh Bachchan visited the village Daulatpur in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, in 2008, he laid the cornerstone for a degree college named after his newlywed daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. He was joined by Abhishek Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Aishwarya. Additionally, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, the leaders of the Samajwadi Party, were also present at the function at that time.

The college’s name was changed to Aishwarya Bachchan Girls’ Inter College for upper-secondary students in 2012. Big B sent a cheque for Rs. 5 lakhs to ABSS so that the building could be constructed. It has been reported that Amitabh Bachchan assigned the Nishtha Foundation, led by Jaya Bachchan, with the task of constructing the college. Reports on the internet claim that the Nishtha Foundation allegedly did not construct the college and later blamed Amitabh Bachchan’s Seva Sansthan. For over ten years, the villagers patiently awaited the construction of the college. But allegedly, no construction ever took place. While the reports went viral, there has been no written proof of what happened or any recount of the event by anyone in the latest.

After waiting unsuccessfully for the project to begin, the father of a village teacher donated more than 10,000 square meters of land for the college’s construction. Following Big B’s foundation’s decision to halt college work, the residents of Daulatpur raised the necessary funds. And built a college near the Amitabh Bachchan college plot. Why Big B gave up on the project is still unknown, and reports don’t delve into the specifics. So, the reason for this will remain unanswered.

Not every film that receives lukewarm or even hostile reception fades into obscurity. Some films, initially considered flops, find a second life through television reruns, streaming platforms, or sheer word of mouth, eventually achieving cult status. Here are seven such Bollywood films that overcame their initial failures to become timeless classics.

1. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

  • IMDb Rating: 8/10
  • Director: Rajkumar Santoshi
  • Streaming On: Prime Video

Plot: Amar and Prem, two dim-witted friends with big dreams, aspire to marry a rich heiress, Raveena Bajaj, to solve their financial troubles. Their bumbling antics lead to a series of comedic misadventures, rivalries, and a showdown with a notorious criminal.

Initial Reception: When it released, Andaz Apna Apna faced stiff competition from other films and struggled at the box office. The comedy, ahead of its time, was not immediately appreciated by the audience.

Cult Status: Over the years, the film’s witty dialogues, quirky characters, and hilarious scenarios have earned it a massive following. It is now considered one of the greatest comedies in Indian cinema, with fans still quoting its iconic lines like “Teja main hoon, mark idhar hai.”

2. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)

  • IMDb Rating: 8.3/10
  • Director: Kundan Shah
  • Streaming On: Jio Hotstar

Plot: Two bumbling photographers inadvertently capture a murder on camera and find themselves embroiled in a web of corruption and deceit involving powerful politicians and businessmen.

Initial Reception: Despite being a satire on the rampant corruption in India, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro did not perform well at the box office. The dark humor and complex narrative were not immediately embraced by the audience.

Cult Status: Over time, its sharp social commentary, memorable characters, and iconic scenes, like the Mahabharata play, have turned it into a cult classic. It is now celebrated as one of the best satirical films in Indian cinema.

3. Pyaasa (1957)

  • IMDb Rating: 8.3/10
  • Director: Guru Dutt
  • Streaming On: Prime Video

Plot: The film tells the story of Vijay, a struggling poet who is disillusioned with the materialistic world. His work is only appreciated after his supposed death, revealing the hypocrisy of society.

Initial Reception: Upon its release, Pyaasa received a lukewarm response. Its melancholic tone and unconventional narrative did not resonate with the audience at the time.

Cult Status: Today, Pyaasa is hailed as a masterpiece. Its poignant lyrics, soulful music, and profound exploration of themes like love, ambition, and societal hypocrisy have garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base worldwide.

4. Agneepath (1990)

  • IMDb Rating: 7.6/10
  • Director: Mukul S. Anand
  • Streaming On: Prime Video & Netflix

Plot: The film follows Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, a man seeking revenge against the gangster who killed his father. His journey is marked by violence and moral dilemmas.

Initial Reception: Agneepath was not a commercial success upon release. Amitabh Bachchan’s deep voice and the film’s gritty tone were not well-received by the audience.

Cult Status: Despite its initial failure, Agneepath’s powerful performances, particularly by Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa, and its gripping storyline have earned it a cult following. The film is now considered a classic, and its dialogues are still popular.

5. Silsila (1981)

  • IMDb Rating: 7.2/10
  • Director: Yash Chopra
  • Streaming On: Prime Video

Plot: A tale of love and infidelity, Silsila explores the complex relationships between Amit, Shobha, and Chandni, set against the backdrop of societal expectations and personal desires.

Initial Reception: Silsila was a commercial disappointment. The real-life rumors of the lead actors’ romantic involvement overshadowed the film, affecting its box office performance.

Cult Status: Over the years, the film’s nuanced portrayal of love and relationships, coupled with its melodious music, has endeared it to audiences. It is now regarded as one of Yash Chopra’s finest works, capturing the essence of romantic turmoil.

6. Lamhe (1991)

  • IMDb Rating: 7.2/10
  • Director: Yash Chopra
  • Streaming On: Prime Video

Plot: The film narrates the story of Viren, who falls in love with Pallavi, only to later develop feelings for her daughter, Pooja, creating a complex web of emotions and societal challenges.

Initial Reception: Lamhe faced backlash for its unconventional plot and bold theme of an older man falling in love with a much younger woman. It failed to impress at the box office.

Cult Status: Despite its initial failure, Lamhe’s touching performances, beautiful cinematography, and memorable songs have earned it a special place in Bollywood history. It is now celebrated for its progressive narrative and emotional depth.

7. Swades (2004)

  • IMDb Rating: 8.2/10
  • Director: Ashutosh Gowariker
  • Streaming On: Netflix

Plot: In this film, an NRI working at NASA returns to India to find his nanny. His journey of self-discovery leads him to embrace his roots and work towards the betterment of a rural village.

Initial Reception: Swades did not perform as expected at the box office. Its slow pace and lack of commercial elements did not appeal to the mass audience initially.

Cult Status: Swades is now considered a gem, celebrated for its heartfelt narrative and Shah Rukh Khan’s powerful performance. Its themes of patriotism, social responsibility, and rural empowerment resonate deeply with viewers, making it a beloved classic.

These films remind us that box office numbers aren’t the only measure of a movie’s success. Sometimes, it takes years for the true value of a film to be recognized. As audiences evolve, so do their tastes and perceptions, allowing once-overlooked movies to shine. These seven films have not only become cult classics but also serve as a testament to the timeless nature of compelling storytelling and strong performances in Bollywood.

The Hidden Reason Behind Jaya Bachchan’s Angry Reactions: A Phobia That’s Been Keeping Her On Edge! | Glamsham.com

by jummy84 August 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Veteran actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan recently found herself in the middle of a storm after a video of her shoving a man outside the Constitution Club in New Delhi became viral. The exchange, where she lashed out at a man who tried to take a selfie, soon attracted scorn online, with many labeling her “arrogant” and “rude.” But few are aware that Jaya Bachchan is a sufferer of claustrophobia—a condition that tends to affect her behavior in crowded or intrusive circumstances.

Viral Video Causes Online Outrage

The video, which went viral, shows Jaya Bachchan pushing a man away and firmly telling him, “Kya kar rahe hain aap? What is this?” It was said that the man had attempted to take a selfie without her consent. The video had caused a firestorm on social media platforms with users condemning her public behavior and questioning her temperament as an elected representative.

Actor Kangana Ranaut criticized Jaya on her Instagram stories, referring to her as “the most spoilt and privileged woman,” and ridiculed her being part of the Samajwadi Party. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also lashed out at her, referring to the decision as “highly condemnable” and an act of “humiliation towards people who have voted for her.”

Claustrophobia, Not Arrogance: What Her Children Say

Before the internet could make judgments, Jaya Bachchan’s kids—Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan—have before spoken about this problem and their mother’s frequently misunderstood demeanor. On one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan Season 6, Shweta explained, “She gets very claustrophobic when there are too many people around her. She also doesn’t like it when people take her pictures without asking. She comes from that school of thought.”

Abhishek injected some humor into the conversation, admitting to having a guilty pleasure watching videos of his mother’s reactions to being photographed by paparazzi. He also confided that whenever the family goes out together, they secretly hope there is no paparazzi around to cause her distress.

An Old-School Persona in a New-Age World

Jaya Bachchan’s dislike of unwanted photographs and crowded places originates from her rooted values and life in another era of Bollywood—one that practiced respect for personal space and celebrity culture was less invasive. While today’s media business lives on access and immediacy, Jaya’s discomfiture is frequently misunderstood as anger or haughtiness.

While her responses are possibly harsh to others, they can also be evidence of a greater problem a claustrophobia and a dislike of one’s personal space being invaded.
