Michael Wolff is no stranger to controversy. As the author of several books covering Donald Trump and his presidency, the New Jersey native’s name reemerged in November 2025 when emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein surfaced — most of which were discussions about Trump and his alleged knowledge of Epstein’s sex-trafficking crimes. Trump has been adamant with his position when it comes to Epstein, though, calling the deceased sex offender a “creep” and claiming he booted Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club.

Per ABC News, Wolff claimed in a phone call that he couldn’t recall the “specific emails or the context” between his emails with Epstein, but he insisted that they represented “an in-depth conversation with Epstein at that time about his relationship with Donald Trump.”

“I was trying at that time to get Epstein to talk about his relationship with Trump, and actually, he proved to be an enormously valuable source to me,” Wolff said, per the outlet. “Part of the context of this is that I was pushing Epstein at that point to go public with what he knew about Trump.”

Below, learn more about Wolff, his work and his life.

Author Chetan Bhagat: I don’t, but Indians care about films because they don’t read books

by jummy84 October 15, 2025
written by jummy84

For the 90s kids thriving on Reddit today, the most pop-ular (or unpopular) author back then was Chetan Bhagat. His dealing of nonchalant characters, with rarely something unique, gained popularity for falling into familiar tropes and got much-talked about. So much so that Chetan’s books even became instant fodder for mainstream Indian cinema.

Author Chetan Bhagat talks about his new book, 12 Years, and how he managed to delve into the world of new age romances at 51.

Cut to 2025, the world has moved on, and so have the modern day characters or couples. Now, those living in the age of situationships have got a new talking-point with Chetan 2.0 returning to his OG loved-genre of love stories.

Excerpts from an interview:

Q. It’s 12 years since you last wrote about romance. The world has changed, and you’re back to writing the same genre. Why an old formula?

People love my love stories and that’s because there’s no formula in them. Each time it’s a fresh take on fresh issues. The age gap romance, in 12 Years, seemed bold and fresh and something I had not attempted yet. That’s why I felt it had something unique, which made me get back to love stories after more than a decade.

Q. So, this genre is not chosen with the agenda that it gets adapted for the screen; like your previous works?

That carries an assumption that I care a lot for the screen. I don’t care; Indians care because they don’t read books. So they are always asking me, ‘When is the movie coming?’ As if movie is the ultimate Nobel Prize! They believe that in Indian society films are up in the hierarchy of art forms; but it’s not. Films are the lazy man’s form of art consumption. I’ve had five adaptations of my works, and been part of six movies. It took a good amount of time from my life. But, I’ve reached an age where I don’t care much for that. I mean, ultimately, the joy you get from reading 2 States (his last book in the same genre), you’re not going to get from watching the movie.

Any book will trigger a reader’s imagination… I was also in a phase where I was fascinated by Bollywood. I grew up watching movies and saw the same actors call me to say, ‘We love your stories’. Of course you get carried away… But, finally, I realised that the true essence of what I enjoy doing is not that… For me, the biggest creative satisfaction come from writing a fresh story with fresh conflict and societal observations.

Q. How did you rewire yourself as a writer, to adapt to the modern age of ‘situationships’?

When my first book came out, there were no smartphones or even cellphones. I remember people used to tell me how they’d tear up the books in parts to exchange and read… Today, everybody has a phone in their pocket and is constantly entertained. So I had to change my plots too, embrace videos and social media and maybe that’s the reason I’m still around. I’ve tried to change and see the new generation non-judgmentally. Like I didn’t understand ghosting. For my value system it’s very rude. But I’m trying to come to terms with this, and the times we live in.

It’s a 51-year-old man writing a story about a 33-year-old guy falling in love with a 21-year-old girl. If not executed right, this bold story could’ve come across as creepy, strange and weird. But after 21 years of writing, I think I’ve reached a stage where I can handle this all, sensitively.

Robert Munsch, Canadian children’s author, says he’s been approved for MAID

by jummy84 September 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Robert Munsch, the beloved Canadian children’s author of books like The Paper Bag Princess and Love You Forever, says he has been approved for medical assistance in dying (MAID) after he was diagnosed with dementia and Parkinson’s disease.

In a New York Times profile of Munsch, the author said that he applied for MAID — a practice that was legalized in 2016 — and his application was approved.

Munsch, 80, joked to the outlet that his application said, “Hello, Doc — come kill me! How much time do I have? Fifteen seconds!”

He said he had watched one of his brothers die slowly from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig’s disease, a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and gets worse over time.

“They kept him alive through all these interventions. I thought, ‘Let him die,’” Munsch said.

The author said he doesn’t want to “linger that way” and added that he thinks he will choose to go “when I start having real trouble talking and communicating. Then I’ll know.”

Under MAID laws in Canada, Munsch must be able to actively consent on the day of his death.

“I have to pick the moment when I can still ask for it,” Munsch explained to the Times.

Munsch told his wife, Ann, that if he misses the opportunity, she’s “stuck with me being a lump.”

The author, who has published more than 70 books over his career, said he doesn’t want to be here “when I can’t recognize the people I love.”

For now, he said his old stories have survived his diagnoses and remain with him.

“I notice that the stories are mostly free from the problems I have with speech,” he said.

In Canada, a person who wishes to receive MAID must meet eligibility criteria that include being at least 18 years of age, having decision-making capacity, being eligible for publicly funded health-care services and making a voluntary request that is not the result of external pressure.

The person must also have a serious and incurable illness, disease or disability, be in an advanced state of irreversible decline in capability and enduring and intolerable physical or psychological suffering that cannot be alleviated under conditions the person considers acceptable.

“This New York Times article by Katie Engelhart offers a powerful glimpse into the man behind the stories, and we join those who have expressed profound gratitude for this chance to understand and connect with Robert Munsch in a new way,” the publishing company wrote.

“It’s an incredibly generous act to open up like this, and it reminds us, once again, why Robert’s work continues to touch many generations.”

‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ Author Clarifies Sequel Update

by jummy84 August 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Two years later, fans of Red, White & Royal Blue might be in for a happy ending soon.

After saying at a recent event that “pencils are kind of down for now” on the sequel, the literary source material’s author Casey McQuiston clarified the phrase on social media to put fans’ minds at ease.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but ‘pencils down’ is a figure of speech that refers to when you’re taking the SAT or something and it’s time to put your pencil down bc the section of the test is done,” wrote McQuiston on their Instagram Story, according to DNA. “I’ve used this expression, like 100,000 times to describe the feeling of turning in a manuscript, it’s not that deep!”

Last May, Amazon MGM Studios announced they greenlighted development on the sequel after the first became Prime Video’s No. 1 movie in its global debut weekend, holding the position for three weeks.

Noting that there is no sequel to McQuiston’s original 2019 on which to base his sequel, writer-director Matthew López previously told Deadline that the author will still factor into the movie.

Matthew Lopez, Casey McQuiston, Uma Thurman, Nicholas Galitzine, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Rachel Hilson, Sarah Schechter and Greg Berlanti at the Prime Experience Deadline Portrait Studio for ‘Red, White and Royal Blue’ at Nya Studiuos on May 8, 2024 in Los Angeles, California

Michael Buckner for Deadline

“When we were starting this process, I kept saying that we’ll have succeeded at this adaptation…if you feel the same way at the end of the film, as you felt finishing the book,” said López last year. “There’s no book to guide us, but what we have is Casey’s original thoughts and original ideas.”

Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine reunite for the sequel, which also sees López returning after making his feature debut with the original, penning the followup alongside McQuiston. Berlanti Schechter Films’ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will return to produce the film, joined by the banner’s Michael McGrath, as well as López. McQuiston will executive produce.

In Red, White & Royal Blue, President Ellen Claremont’s (Uma Thurman) son Alex (Zakhar Perez) has an embarrassing encounter with Prince Henry (Galatzine), threatening US/UK relations and his mother’s reelection campaign. While attempting to clean up the bad press, the pair is forced to pretend to be best friends, during which the unlikely pair secretly falls in love.
