High Potential Season 2 Premiere Audience Up Nearly 300% After 35 Days

by jummy84 November 14, 2025
written by jummy84

EXCLUSIVE: High Potential is still digging up more viewers throughout its sophomore season.

The Season 2 premiere, which aired on September 16, grew to 17.23M multi-platform viewers after 35 days across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms, per Nielsen data. That’s a 17% increase over last year’s series premiere, which drew 14.71M viewers in 35 days, and an 11% lift over the Season 1 average audience of 15.52M.

It’s also a nearly 300% increase over the same-day audience for the Season 2 debut, which sat around 4.34M, according to Nielsen.

The High Potential Season 2 premiere also had two linear encore airings. When factoring those in, the episode sits around 21.48M viewers in total over the course of 35 days post-premiere.

Season 2 has continued to rake in an impressive audience through midseason, averaging 12.38M viewers per episode after seven days. That is a significant 19% increase over Season 1, which had about 10.38M viewers per episode in the seven-day window.

And, the success is not just due to its promising lead-in from the very popular Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, either.

Per Nielsen, High Potential draws 40% of its live audience from other sources. On linear platforms alone, High Potential is up 25% over last fall in the seven-day measurement period with 7.59M viewers per episode.

High Potential aired its midseason finale on October 28. Season 2 returns on January 6 in its new 9 p.m. time slot on ABC. Episodes stream next day on Hulu.

‘The Price Is Right’ Audience Goes Wild as Veteran Wins Backyard Set

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • Marine radio operator Joshua Sturgil won a backyard set on The Price Is Right‘s Veterans Day episode by playing a near-perfect Hi-Low game.
  • The audience, filled with active-duty and retired military, erupted in cheers as Sturgil correctly identified the three most expensive grocery items to win the prize package worth $6,310.
  • Although Sturgil did not advance to the Showcase, the special episode also featured NCIS: Origins stars presenting a military-themed showcase trip.

The Price Is Right audience had a wild reaction after a veteran won a backyard set on an easy game. The contestant played a near-perfect game on November 11, the Veterans Day tribute episode.

Joshua Sturgil, an active-duty radio operator for the Marines, won the third item up for bid, which was a massage chair with air bag compression. He bid $1,750 on the item, which was the highest bid. The price was actually $1,800. He and host Drew Carey connected since that is what Carey did in the military.

Sturgil played Hi-Low for a UV-protected 7×7 Rubbermaid shed, a robotic lawn mower, a 20-volt, nine-piece tool kit, two grills and grill covers, and a weatherproof 4k Smart TV, worth $6,310.

The way the game works is that the game show contestant is given six grocery store items. There are three items that are more expensive than the other three, and it is up to the contestant to figure out which ones they are in order to win the prizes. The six items were movie theater popcorn, sour cherry spread, Oxi-Clean bathroom cleaner, Skittles, a Power Crunch protein bar, and liquid antacid.

Sturgil picked the antacid as the most expensive item. It was $11.49.

He then went with the sour cherry spread, which was $7.99. For the third most expensive item, Sturgil chose the Oxi-Clean.

“That’s what I would have picked,” Drew Carey said. The cleaner was $6.99.

The next three items had to be under $6.99 in order for him to win. The Skittles were $1.99. The protein bar was $2.19. The popcorn was $4.99, so he won the prize.

Sturgil jumped up and down as the audience, which was filled with active-duty and retired military, roared. His fellow Marines gave a loud chant. Sturgil threw up his hands and encouraged the crowd to cheer louder.

Sturgil spun an .80 on the Showcase Showdown wheel, but didn’t make it to the Showcase as his opponent spun an .85.

Also on the episode were NCIS: Origins stars Austin Stowell and Mariel Molino, who play Marines on the CBS show. The pair presented a showcase, which included a trip to where the drama is filmed.

The Price Is Right, Weekdays, 11a/10c, CBS, stream next day on Paramount+

Kriti Sanon is one of the most promising actresses of Bollywood. With a career spanning over a decade and having progressed from being an outsider to winning a National Film Award, she has come a long way in the industry. She continues to win hearts with her powerful performances. Since the topic of nepotism is one of the most discussed in Bollywood, let’s revisit the time when Kriti Sanon shared her perspective on the issue. Read on to know more.

Kriti Sanon Shared Her Opinion On Nepotism

According to DNA, Kriti Sanon, speaking at a masterclass during the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 in Goa, shared her opinion on nepotism. The actress said, “I feel the industry is not so much responsible for nepotism. It’s also the media and the audience. The audience wants to watch what the media is putting about certain star kids. Because the audience is interested in them, the industry feels that since the audience is interested, let’s make a movie with them. So, I think it’s a circle. But I feel that if you are talented, you will get there. If you’re not talented, and if the connection is not there with the audience, you will not get there.”

Kriti Sanon’s Journey As An Outsider

Talking about her journey as an outsider, Kriti shared, “The industry has given me a very warm welcome since the time I came. Of course, when you don’t have a film background, it takes time for you to get there. It takes time for you to get those opportunities you crave. It takes time for you even to get those magazine covers. So, everything is a bit of a struggle. But after 2-3 films, if you keep working hard, and if you are good at it, nothing can stop it.”

More About Kriti Sanon

Kriti Sanon started her acting career with the film Heropanti in 2014 opposite Tiger Shroff. She also won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her powerful performance in Mimi. On the work front, Kriti is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush, which is slated for release on November 28, 2025. Additionally, she has multiple projects in the pipeline, including Cocktail 2, Bhediya 2, and No Entry 2.

Could Canada join Eurovision Song Contest? Experts say audience needed – National

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s the international competition that brings Euphoria to its audience and let its participants Rise Like a Phoenix, and there’s the possibility the Eurovision Song Contest could soon include Canada in its ranks.

It wasn’t a big-ticket item, but the Liberal government’s 2025 budget included a line on the CBC that said it’s working with the public broadcaster to explore participation in the popular song contest.

Eurovision has been around since 1956 and is organized annually by the European Broadcasting Union. It features acts from multiple countries in Europe, but also a few from abroad, such as Australia.

The campy-style song contest has sometimes been called Europe’s version of the Super Bowl, with hundreds of millions of viewers globally.

“We want Canadian culture on a global stage,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Thursday. “Best culture in the world, best music in the world, I think Europe deserves to see it too.”

Carney is a fan of the popular song content.

Canadians have competed in the contest in the past, with Celine Dion winning it for Switzerland in 1988. That same year, Lara Fabian, who became a Canadian citizen in 1995, represented Luxembourg and came in fourth place.

La Zarra, who was born in Montreal, represented France in the 2023 contest and came in 16th with her performance of Evidemment.

Carney has been doing outreach to numerous countries in recent months as Canada looks to like-minded trading partners amid the trade war with the U.S.

Dean Vuletic, a historian of the Eurovision Song Contest, told Global News he was not surprised that Canadian budget included a line about the competition. He noted that joining the contest has been something discussed by Canada since Australia joined in 2015.

“Canada is a country that is close to Europe, culturally, politically, especially the countries of the European Union,” Vuletic said. “We’re talking about the EU member states which are the core of Eurovision and they’re the ones that Canada is looking to develop closer ties with considering the current situation in the world.

“I think this is also a way for Canada to strengthen its connection with the European Union, even though Eurovision isn’t officially connected to the European Union … This is a way for Canada to demonstrate that it is closely tied with the European Union, that it shares the values of the European Union.”

Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne told Global News Europe is open to the idea.

“This was something that was asked by the people who participate and I think it’s a platform for Canada to shine,” Champagne said Tuesday.

Joining Eurovision was previously considered by CBC/Radio-Canada in the past but was determined to be prohibitively expensive.

There have been plans to launch a televised singing contest in Canada that would send the winner to Eurovision, similar to how other contest countries choose their entry.

Since the budget announcement, Cox said “ongoing conversations” have been taking place with the CBC, but did not provide more detail.

The big question, according to Eurovision expert Karen Fricker – if Canada gets in the contest – is there enough appetite to watch?

“It’s super fun to watch, but would there be interest in it?” wondered Fricker, an adjunct professor of dramatic arts at Brock University in Niagara.

Fricker told Global News the contest has become highly popular for various immigrant and diasporic communities, with some bringing their own nation’s broadcasts into their home and, in turn, watching the competition.

In addition, youth culture got into the contest during the COVID-19 pandemic, while some in the LGBTQ2S community have called it the “gay Olympics” — the winner of the 2024 contest, Nemo, identifies as non-binary while JJ, the 2025 winner, identifies as queer.

Fricker noted that Australia’s decision may lend to Canada’s as well.

“The decision was made that because Australia is very much a country of immigrants, as is Canada, in addition to have First Peoples, they have really, really built a following in Australia,” Fricker said. “So that when Australia then got the opportunity to compete, it made so much sense because there was so much excitement in the public. Here (in Canada,) that would need to be built, I feel.”

Abhishek Bajaj And Neelam Giri’s Double Eviction From Bigg Boss 19 Shocked Audience, Fans Call It Unjustified And Biased

The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 has left fans shocked and disappointed as two of the most talked-about contestants, Abhishek Bajaj and Neelam Giri, have been eliminated from the show in a surprising double eviction. The reality show, known for its intense drama, emotional breakdowns, and power-packed tasks, witnessed one of its most unexpected twists during Weekend Ka Vaar this week.

This week’s nominations included Gaurav Khanna, Farhana Bhatt, Ashnoor Kaur, Neelam Giri, and Abhishek Bajaj. Viewers had predicted that Neelam Giri might be evicted since the other contestants appeared more active and had larger fan bases. However, the makers stunned everyone by announcing a double elimination, sending both Abhishek and Neelam out of the house.

While Neelam’s eviction was somewhat expected, Abhishek Bajaj’s exit has sparked widespread outrage among fans and fellow contestants. Many believe that his elimination was completely unfair and that he deserved to stay longer in the competition. Abhishek Bajaj, who had emerged as one of the strongest and most entertaining contestants of Bigg Boss 19, was known for his straightforward attitude, aggressive gameplay, and commitment to every task. His honesty and fearlessness made him one of the most talked-about participants of the season.

Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, with many calling his eviction unjustified and biased. Some even accused the makers of manipulating results to favor certain contestants. One user wrote, “Okay, goodbye #BiggBoss19, that’s it. If not #AbhishekBajaj, then no one else. After Abhishek, there will be no votes or support at all.” Another fan expressed frustration, saying, “Enough with this season… The makers have mentally tortured him so much, and now this? Decide the winner as you wish. He didn’t deserve to be eliminated this week. Keep useless people in and remove deserving ones. Goodbye to this biased show.”

The Epic’ Draws Crossover Audience

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

S.S. Rajamouli (RRR) returned to U.S. theaters with Baahubali: The Epic drawing a crossover audience and an estimated $837.3k since midweek on circa 450 screens. Variance Films handled the U.S. release, working with producers Arka Mediaworks and marketing firm Walls & Trends.

Prathyangira Cinemas handled Canada.

The film a new vision of the the two-part Baahubali series Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017) — the latter the highest grossing Indian film of all time in North America — remastered and edited into a single cinematic experience by Rajamouli. Clocking in at four hours, with intermission, the release kicked off Wednesday on 160 premium large format screens including Imax to sellouts at AMC Lincoln Square Imax and theaters across the country. A handful added midnight screenings that night for serious fans to meet demand.

The Epic expanded to 448 locations Thursday with 60+ PLF runs holding. It will continue to play through next weekend, after which  it will remain available on screens in a model Variance developed successfully with RRR, bringing it back after its initial run with an “encoRRRe” release that continues selling out theaters to this day and has added $1.5 million to the initial gross.

“S.S. Rajamouli movies are what movie theaters were built for, and sitting in the middle of the theater this weekend watching die-hard fans cheer their favorite moments while first-time viewers leaned forward to see what would happen next is as much fun as you can have at the theater,” says Variance president and founder Dylan Marchetti. He said the initial gross was a bit above internal projections.

Indian films are highly valued at the North American box office but often do 80% of their business with Indian audiences and families on the first day of release, then fall off dramatically. The audience for Baahubali: The Epic was roughly 10% to 15% non-Indian Rajamouli fans who liked RRR and heard about this latest on Letterboxd or other social media in a calibrated campaign that was also cognizant of not taking away from the core audience. Marchetti expects the road show, like RRR’s, to be almost exclusively non-Indian moviegoers.

In Baahubali, a legendary warrior emerges from humble beginnings to challenge powerful forces threatening his homeland, as ancient prophecies and family bonds shape his journey. It stars Prabhas in dual roles alongside, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishna, Nassar, Sathyaraj, Subbaraju and Adivi Sesh.

RRR opened in March of 2022 to $9.5 million domestic, going on to gross over $15 million (and $166 million worldwide). It charged into multiplexes amid a dearth of new releases post-Covid, going on to win the Oscar for Best Original Score.

Other indies: Focus Features’ Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos grossed $4.8 million in a big week two expansion on 2,043 screens for a cume of $5.8 million. This is the best wide break to date for the director (The Favourite, Poor Things, Kinds Of Kindness). It’s Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomaotes with an 86% Critics Score and 83% Audience Score. B CinemaScore. Audiences were 61% male, 39% female with 39% ages 24-34. Around 53% were White, 24% Latino, 7% Black, 7% Asian and 6% Native American/other. Focus said it expects audiences to continue to find the Emma Stone-starring film in theaters despite an overall depressed marketplace.

Briarcliff’s animated family comedy Stitch Head opened to $2.1 million on 2,162 screens for a $2.5 million cume.

Anniversary from Roadside Attractions is eyeing an estimated 3-day gross of $259.2k on 809 screens.

IFC opened Ozark Mountains-set crime thriller Violent Ends in 700 theaters to $120k.

Neon’s Shelby Oaks grossed $770k in week two at 1,708 locations for a cume of $3.9 million.

‘Rental Family’ and ‘Hamnet’ Win Audience Prize at Middleburg

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

The 2025 Middleburg Film Festival is the latest to bestow Chloe Zhao’s “Hamnet” its Audience Award for Narrative Feature, but this time the Focus Features release shares the honor with Hikari’s “Rental Family, set to be released by Searchlight Pictures.

Though the award still supports the idea that “Hamnet” is the one fall festival premiere most likely to be a Best Picture Oscar frontrunner next year, especially since it also won the coveted People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, it being tied with “Rental Family” helps paint a picture of how there can be plenty of films that excite audiences outside the New York/Los Angeles bubble.

Jafar Panahi

Keep in mind, the Audience Award process at Middleburg is similar to the one at Toronto, in that any film screening at the festival is eligible. And the harsh thing about Toronto this year was how many well-received premieres, be it “Rental Family” or “Roofman,” had been said to have had their awards campaigns tanked by not winning said People’s Choice Award, as if their worth is tied to their potential to win an Academy Award.

“Rental Family,” which closed the 2025 Middleburg Film Festival, with writer/director Hikari present to receive a standing ovation, was described by IndieWire critic David Ehrlich as “a gentle little movie that recognizes truth and performance as two sides of the same coin.” Pegged as a crowdpleaser before it had publicly screened anywhere, the response the Brendan Fraser response received at Middleburg, from an audience that primarily consists of wealthy film enthusiasts in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area, quite a few who work in the film industry, proved that initial read to be justified. Worth noting “Frankenstein,” the runner-up for the People’s Choice Award at Toronto, had also screened at Middleburg.

Anyhow, another film that had arguably been overshadowed at other festivals, but got its turn in the spotlight at Middleburg was “The Cycle of Love,” which took the Top Documentary Prize. Another Telluride world premiere a la “Hamnet,” the film tells the true story of an Indian man cycling 6000 miles cross-continent on bicycle to find his love. Other documentaries that screened at the festival include Netflix’s “Cover-Up” and National Geographic films “Love+War” and “The Tale of Silyan,” yet “The Cycle of Love” has yet to find a distributor. One can imagine the filmmakers hope the Middleburg audience’s reaction can be leveraged in a partner ready to campaign the film as a true Best Documentary Feature contender.

Though it won the Jury Prize after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” which won the Top International Prize at Middleburg, has yet to find a distributor, even though it is directed by two-time Oscar nominee Kaouther Ben Hania and has already been selected to represent Tunisia for Best International Feature.

Outside of actual prizewinners, this particular regional crowd anecdotally hailed a mix of the expected, like Palme d’Or winner “It Was Just an Accident” from director Jafar Panahi or Scott Cooper’s “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” and unexpected like A24 romantic comedy “Eternity,” starring Elizabeth Olsen (programmed as the Saturday Spotlight film), and Searchlight Pictures’ “Is This Thing On?”

A portion of the older crowd seemed to still have difficulty with “After the Hunt,” or even “If I Had Legs, I’d Kick You,” which features a visceral performance from Rose Byrne, but were very warm on most of Netflix’s slate of films, from Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly,” which opened the festival, to Richard Linklater’s “Nouvelle Vague,” and Rian Johnson’s “Wake Up Dead Man,” the latest installment in the “Knives Out” franchise.

“We’re thrilled to see how our slate of films connected so profoundly with our audiences,” said Middleburg Film Festival Executive Director Susan Koch via statement. “The humanity and emotional depth of these four films clearly struck a chord, reflecting the kind of bold, globally minded storytelling our festival strives to champion.”

Robert’s grief journey after his father Steve Irwin’s death has often been documented, but this time, he decided to honor his mother during the Dedication Night. All the contestants honored their loved ones with their performances that night.

Robert moved the audience to tears as he danced to ‘You’ll Be In My Heart’ by Phil Collins, alongside Witney Carson. He dedicated the dance to his mother and “all the moms who don’t get the recognition they deserve.” He shared an emotional moment with DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli after his Dedication Night performance with his mother.

‘She’s an absolute hero to me’

Robert tearfully opened up about his love for his mother Terri, saying, according to Hello! Magazine, “She’s an absolute hero to me. I was 2 when I lost dad, and as I got older, I suddenly realized how hard it would have been for her to be there for us and all the while continue dad’s legacy that her and dad built together. I’ve never really been able to capture the feeling of gratitude that I feel for her. And at every milestone when I just wish that my dad was there, she was there. And that was enough. I struggle a lot with losing dad, and she always made sure that my dad was present in our lives. I want her to know how proud my dad would be of her.”

Robert also talked about the performance in an X post. “Tonight I dance for my mum, the strongest person I know. My mum and dad created a legacy that I’m proud to continue. I hope I can use this dance to share what she means to me, to our family, and to say thank you for always supporting me through life’s ups and downs. See you tonight,” he wrote, sharing photos of his family.

Terri, too, spoke out about her love for her children. “After we lost Steve, it was difficult to smile again for quite a while. So for him to say ‘you lifted me up,’ honestly, it was the opposite. Because of them, I could get up every morning,” she said.

EXCLUSIVE: Zeishan Quadri Apologises For His ‘Audience Mera Ghar Nahi Chalati’ Comment

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

Zeishan Quadri has issued an apology for his controversial comment, ‘Audience mera ghar nahi chalati’. He made during his stint as a contestant on Bigg Boss 19. His remark drew widespread public backlash, prompting him to address the incident and clarify the context of his statement following his eviction from the show. During an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the now-evicted contestant cleared the air on his remarks, which hurt the audience. Scroll down to read more and watch the interview.

When asked about his audience mera ghar nahi chalati remarks on Bigg Boss 19, Zeishan Quadri said, “Nahi, I’m really sorry. Audience ko shayad wo video nahi dikhaya gaya jahan pe maine maafi bhi maangi thi — aur dil se Bigg Boss se bhi maafi maangi thi. Isi wajah se audience ko khud samajhna chahiye tha ki jab Salman sir aaye, to unhone, rather than isko issue bana ke mujhe daantne ki jagah, jaise hi mujhe toka, maine wahan pe bhi sorry bola. Aur maine ye bhi bola ki main emotionally thoda sa carried away ho gaya tha. To sir ne bola, ‘Main yahi emotions ko yahan sambhalne aata hoon.’ Baat ye hui thi ki paanchva hafta tha — ekdum sar dard karwa diya tha Kunickaa ji ne.”

Zeishan On Kunickaa’s Behaviour

He continued, “Har baat mein ungli karna, har baat mein jhoot bolna, selective memory, aag lagana — poori se leke sursuri tak unki saari baatein chal rahi thi. And at the same point of time, jab maine ye baat Bigg Boss ko boli, aur usi ke aadhe-poune ghante ke andar ye baat janta ko boli, to context ye tha ki —agar aap votes deke inko jitana chahte ho, to mujhe mat do votes, bhai! Inko hi jitao. Aise logon ko hi rakho — toxic logon ko. Aur agar aapko hum jaise log pasand hain, to humko do votes. Aur aadmi gusse mein hota hai yaar, aapko pata nahi hai. Dekho, bahar se show dekhna bahut different hai. I completely agree.”

The filmmaker concluded, “Andar is tarah ki cheezon ko jhelna bahut mushkil hai. Aur woh meri hi cheezein thi. Maine gusse mein agar aakar bola bhi, to maine kisko bola? Bigg Boss mein hi sorry bola na? Unko hi bola aur kisiko bola ki yaar, yahan pe mujhse galti hui hai. I’m very much aware ki maine kya bola, and I’m sorry for that. But us time pe main bhi, as a human being, frustrated ho chuka tha cheezon se. Main koi AI ya computer se nahi chal raha hoon — insaan hoon yaar, reactions aayenge mere bhi. Toh woh bilkul waise hi natural reactions the, aur uske baad maine sorry bhi bola. Sir ne bhi uss moment ko bahut achhe se sambhala, unhone bola, ‘Aap jab bahar nikloge, to janta ka pyaar milega.’ Toh maine bhi bola, ‘Sir, already said this sorry, and again, I’m sorry.’”

Zeishan Quadri was recently seen in Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19.

The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 has ignited major backlash online after host Salman Khan seemingly turned a blind eye to Amal Malik’s controversial behavior in the house. While Abhishek Bajaj was grilled for his reaction to a heated moment involving Ashnoor Kaur, Salman did not address Amal’s role in the conflict and fans are not happy with this act. In the weekend episode, Salman questioned Abhishek over his emotional outburst and roasted him for his acts in the show.

Abhishek Bajaj Called Amal Malik Rude

Let us tell you that during the conversation, Abhishek held Amal responsible for his acts and said it was only because of how the later treated him and provoked him. Despite the context, Salman didn’t reprimand Amal, which led to fans slamming the host for being “biased” and “unfair.” Social media is now buzzing with criticism over what many are calling a one-sided narrative.
