Special Olympics Asks Kid Rock to Stop Using the R-Word

by jummy84 October 30, 2025
written by jummy84

As far as the Special Olympics is concerned, Kid Rock has a lot to learn.

During an appearance on Fox News show Jesse Watters Primetime last week, the rap-rocker-turned-conservative-troll joke that he was going to be a “r—–” for Halloween while brandishing a mask more recently associated with COVID-19 prevention (Rock’s history of disdain towards vaccine mandates is well-documented). His callous use of the slur caught the attention of Lorretta Clairborne, vice chair of the Special Olympics organization, who’s doing her best to make the unfortunate situation into a teachable moment.

In an open letter posted to the Special Olympics website, Clairborne urged the “Bawitdaba” singer to reconsider throwing around words that “have a long, painful history of being used to belittle and dehumanize.

“I’m writing to you personally with an urgent request: please acknowledge the hurt caused and use this moment to stand with us in rejecting that word and the prejudice it represents,” the letter reads. “People with intellectual disabilities, one of the largest groups of people with disabilities in the world, have suffered generations of discrimination and humiliation. In the 21st century, we’re still continuing to fight for the simplest form of justice: the recognition of our full humanity, a recognition you undermine when you use the word retard.”

Clairborne goes on to invite Kid Rock to have a conversation with her, in hopes of sharing “more about the movement for inclusion and respect that has changed so many lives, including my own. Together, we can use this moment to build a world where every person is valued and respected.” See the full letter below.

While the conservative singer has yet to respond to the Special Olympics’ open letter, he’s been directing a lot of energy lately towards ticket brokers, even attempting to reach across the aisle by eliciting the help of Pearl Jam.

It’s a crusade he publicly took on last year during a meeting with Trump’s Attorney General Pam Bondi where he vowed to “open a can of whoop ass on the bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public with the horse shit that has gone on for decades and only gotten worse.” Earlier this year, he stood by Donald Trump as the American president signed an executive order aimed at reforming the concert ticket industry and protecting fans from what he called “exploitative ticket scalping.”

An Open Letter to Kid Rock: Words Matter

Dear Kid Rock,

I watched with deep concern your recent appearance on Fox News with Jesse Watters, where you mentioned you were going to be a “retard” for Halloween. The R-Word deeply demeans and harms people with intellectual disabilities. I’m writing to you personally with an urgent request: please acknowledge the hurt caused and use this moment to stand with us in rejecting that word and the prejudice it represents.

You have a powerful voice and a massive platform, and the world is watching. As an artist and cultural figure who influences millions, you can shape conversations and attitudes across this country. People with intellectual disabilities, one of the largest groups of people with disabilities in the world, have suffered generations of discrimination and humiliation. In the 21st century, we’re still continuing to fight for the simplest form of justice: the recognition of our full humanity, a recognition you undermine when you use the word retard.

Language plays a crucial role in that fight. Words like “retarded” and “retard” have a long, painful history of being used to belittle and dehumanize. When anyone, especially someone in the public eye uses them, it reopens wounds that so many of us have worked so hard to heal.

Through our “Spread the Word” campaign, Special Olympics and Best Buddies have joined hundreds of thousands of advocates around the world to end the casual use of the R-word and replace it with something far more powerful respect. We’ve made great progress, but every public use of that word sets us back and reinforces the stigma we’re trying to overcome.

I know this pain personally. Growing up, I heard that word used against me again and again. It hurt deeply then, and it still hurts today. But I’ve also learned that every moment of hurt can become a moment to teach, to grow, and to move forward together. I believe this can be one of those moments.

You have the chance to turn this incident into a statement of strength, to acknowledge the harm, to stand with people with intellectual disabilities, and to help lead the conversation toward greater understanding and respect.

I would be honored to speak with you and share more about the movement for inclusion and respect that has changed so many lives, including my own. Together, we can use this moment to build a world where every person is valued and respected.

With hope and sincerity,

Loretta Claiborne

CBC asks court to keep Gem subscriber numbers confidential – National

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

CBC/Radio-Canada has filed an application in Federal Court to fight an order directing it to disclose subscriber numbers for its Gem streaming service.

The information commissioner ordered CBC to make available the number of paid subscribers to Gem following an access-to-information request for the data.

CBC/Radio-Canada president Marie-Philippe Bouchard told The Canadian Press the subscriber numbers are sensitive commercial information.

That confidentiality matters when it comes to things like commercial negotiations on bundling Gem with other streaming services, Bouchard added.

The public broadcaster is “charged with making some of our budget out of commercial relationships,” she said.

“And that has to be played according to the rules of the market. And so we’re finding ourselves, with this ruling, uncomfortable with the interpretation.”

Story continues below advertisement

In refusing to disclose the numbers, CBC cited exemptions for programming activities and information that could harm its competitive position.

In her final report on the access-to-information complaint, Information Commissioner Caroline Maynard said the subscriber numbers relate to CBC’s programming activities, but they also relate to its general administration — which means the exemption to disclosure does not apply.

Maynard said while “CBC did identify possible harms to its competitive position or to ongoing negotiations, it did not demonstrate that there was a reasonable expectation that these harms could occur, well beyond a mere possibility.”

The information commissioner’s ruling contradicts the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s interpretation of what constitutes “sensitive commercial information,” Bouchard said.

Bouchard said CBC/Radio-Canada wants the courts to provide clarity on the issue.

CBC launched the Gem streaming service, which has both paid and free versions, in 2018. The paid version, which costs $5.99 a month, includes ad-free on-demand streaming and a stream of CBC’s 24-hour news channel, CBC News Network.

Paid subscribers “are not what makes Gem,” Bouchard said. “Gem is mainly a free-to-user service. And the paid part is really a commodity for people who don’t want advertising.”

CBC does not disclose the number of paid or unpaid subscribers to Gem.

In its notice of application, CBC/Radio-Canada asks the court to set aside the information commissioner’s order and declare that Gem records are exempt from disclosure.

It argues the public broadcaster “operates in a highly competitive environment in which foreign and domestic private and community broadcasters and other digital streamers offer their own programming on their respective distribution platforms.”

Bouchard was pressed on the question Monday afternoon during an appearance at the House of Commons heritage committee.

Conservative MP Kevin Waugh asked Bouchard whether she was “embarrassed” by the number.

“No,” she responded.

“Why don’t you come out and just say, here’s the numbers that we got,” Waugh asked again, telling Bouchard to “give us some numbers.”

Bouchard responded that more than five million people have created an account.

In a later exchange with Waugh, Bouchard said the CRTC allows businesses to “consider that information confidential,” while the information commissioner’s interpretation “says that we have not met the standard for that confidentiality.”

“We want reconciliation between those two interpretations, and that’s why we asked the Federal Court to consider the situation,” she said.

Waugh disagreed, telling Bouchard: “I don’t know what you’re hiding. I really don’t, because you’re a public broadcaster, you’re getting the funds from the public, and you’re not in competition with Bell Media, Crave or any of those.”

Shah Rukh Khan takes a jab at Karan Johar, asks ‘Are you running for ‘Ozempic’? Filmmaker has the perfect comeback

At a recent award night held in Ahmedabad, a light-hearted moment on stage stirred more than just laughter when Shah Rukh Khan made a cheeky remark at co-host Karan Johar. During the event, SRK made comments on Karan’s transformed physique, hinting at his significant weight loss, and jokingly mentioned the popular weight loss drug ‘Ozempic’, to which KJo had the perfect comeback.

Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar

The filmmaker took a sly shot in return, weaving in the name ‘Wankhede’, a clear reference to the controversy surrounding Sameer Wankhede, the former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official who has been in the media spotlight due to a recent lawsuit against SRK’s son Aryan Khan’s show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.

SRK was seen asking Karan, “Bahaut alag lag rahe ho,” to which Karan responded with, “Zyada exercise karne laga hoon aajkal.” SRK then asked, “Oh, you’re working out, are you planning to go for Ozempic?” instantly correcting himself, “Ahh Olympics”, leaving Karan speechless.

Karan, known for his witty comebacks, said, “Haan, Wankhede mein hai Olympics. Aaoge?” In interviews following his weight loss, KJo has consistently pushed back against rumours that he used Ozempic or similar medications, attributing his transformation to health, medical adjustments, and lifestyle discipline. He has said, “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumor suggests” and emphasized his commitment to being “healthy, eating well, and exercising.”

The 70th Filmfare award moment showcased the two’s witty way of reacting to the news around them.

Akshay Kumar Revives Viral Mango Question To PM Modi, Asks CM Fadnavis About Oranges

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar once again stepped into the interviewer’s chair, rekindling the viral stir he caused in 2019 when he famously asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his preferred way of eating mangoes. This time, the actor took the stage at the FICCI FRAMES 2025 event in Mumbai to interview Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, posing a regional twist on his signature quirky query—this time about oranges.

The lighthearted segment began with Akshay reflecting on the unique position he found himself in. “It is a lovely day… 25 years of FICCI… Humare saath humare chief minister sahab hain,” Akshay began. “Aaj mujhe mauka mila hai… yeh zindagi mein mera second time hai jo main kissi ka interview le raha hai hun… Pheli baar mujhe mauka mila tha Pradhan Mantri ji ka interview lene ka. Aur ab humare chief minister sahab ka interview lene ka mauka mila hai (We have our Chief Minister with us today. This is the second time in my life that I’m taking someone’s interview… First, I got a chance to interview the Prime Minister and now I’ve got the chance to interview our chief minister).”

Acknowledging the social media frenzy that followed his last high-profile interview, Akshay pre-empted any criticism with a joke. He continued, “Sir, maine unse ek question kiya tha Pradhan Mantri sahab se ke aap aam kaise khante hain toh logun ne mazak udaya tha, lekin sir main nahi sudhrunga (Sir, I had asked the Prime Minister how he eats mangoes, and people made fun of me, but sir, I won’t change).”

That set the stage for the crucial question for the Chief Minister, who hails from a region famous for the fruit. Akshay asked, “Aap Nagpur se hain aue Nagpur is famous for its oranges. Main yeh puchna chahtha hun ke aapko orange acche lagte hain (You’re from Nagpur, and Nagpur is famous for its oranges. I wanted to ask if you like oranges)?”

CM Fadnavis Reveals His Unique “OG” Orange Trick

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis initially responded with a simple “yes” to the question of whether he likes oranges. However, Akshay Kumar pressed for more detail, asking if he prefers to peel them or drink the juice.

Fadnavis then revealed his surprising method, drawing a parallel to the question Akshay had asked the Prime Minister years earlier. The Chief Minister revealed that he enjoys eating oranges by slicing them into halves, sprinkling some salt, and eating them just the way one would with a mango. “Only OG people know this style of eating an orange,” he joked, winning over the audience and the interviewer with his regional twist on the culinary preference.

Akshay Kumar was visibly amused by the revelation, laughing and admitting, “I have learnt a new thing today and I am surely going to try this.” The exchange successfully replicated the light-hearted, non-political tone of Akshay’s previous interview, achieving his stated goal of focusing on relatable, personal details about high-ranking political figures.

Akshay Kumar’s Mango Moment with PM Modi

The 2019 interview with Prime Minister Narendra Modi became instantly viral, not just for the unexpected questions but for the casual, non-political setting. Conducted at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi), the interview saw the two cracking jokes on topics like mangoes, as well as the Prime Minister’s unique habit of sleeping only 3-4 hours every night.

The moment when Akshay asked about mangoes specifically triggered a massive social media meme fest and, at times, criticism.

However, Akshay had defended his approach in an interview with Hindustan Times, explaining his rationale for sticking to “frivolous” questions. “I have no hesitation in admitting I couldn’t have asked any complicated questions about government, policies, or politics. All the big time editors interviewing him anyway ask him questions which have ‘depth’, right? All I wanted to do was ask about lighter, relatable things which a common person would want to know about the man behind the powerful designation of the Prime Minister,” he had stated.

He concluded his defense by saying, “I asked him if he likes eating mangoes. Some may find it frivolous but I really wanted to know if he indeed did. What’s wrong with that?” By deliberately repeating the format with Devendra Fadnavis, Akshay has effectively turned his most-trolled interview moment into a signature move, emphasising his connection with common people’s curiosity.

Akshay Kumar was last seen in Jolly LLB 3. He has had multiple releases this year, including Sky Force, Kesari Chapter 2, Kannappa, and Housefull 5. His next major release, Welcome to the Jungle, is slated for release later this year in December.

Sean Combs Asks for Lighter Prison Sentence in Personal Letter

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Sean Combs made a last-ditch plea for leniency in a personal letter written to a federal judge on Thursday ahead of his Friday sentencing on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs wrote that he has been humbled by his time spent in prison while awaiting sentencing, saying he’s been “working diligently to become the best version of myself.”

“Today, I humbly ask you for another chance — another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life,” Combs wrote in the four-page letter obtained by Rolling Stone. “I am writing this not to gain any sympathy or pity, this experience is simply the truth of my existence and has changed my life forever and I will never commit a crime again.”

Combs, who said he’s sober “for the first time in 25 years,” continued, “This has been the hardest two years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself.”

Combs, 55, has spent more than a year in federal custody after his September 2024 arrest in the felony case. On July 2, a jury convicted him of the two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Jurors rejected a trio of more serious charges, finding that prosecutors failed to prove Combs ran a racketeering conspiracy or sex trafficked two former girlfriends. The acquittals meant Combs was no longer facing the possibility of life in prison. At the time, the mogul pumped his fist and dropped to his knees as he celebrated in the courtroom.

“In my life, I have made many mistakes, but I am no longer running from them,” he wrote. “I am so sorry for the hurt that I caused, but I understand that the mere words ‘I’m sorry’ will never be good enough as these words alone cannot erase the pain from the past,” he wrote.

In a sentencing letter filed last week, Combs’ defense asked for no more than 14 months in prison, arguing his conviction did not involve a “profit motive” or any “brothels, pimps, or minors.” Prosecutors, meanwhile, asked for a sentence of 11 years and three months in custody, arguing an “unrepentant” Combs committed his crimes while subjecting his ex-girlfriends to “violence, coercion, and abuse.” For their part, federal probation officials have recommended a sentence of about six to seven years in prison.

Editor’s picks

Combs is facing a maximum possible sentence of 20 years, considering each of his two Mann Act convictions carries up to 10 years. U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian will have wide latitude to issue whatever sentence he sees fit up to that maximum. In a series of rulings on motions brought by Combs after his conviction, Judge Subramanian has been stern. He denied multiple requests from the defense to get Combs out of custody pending sentencing, and in a 16-page ruling Tuesday, he rejected a motion asking him to either vacate the jury’s convictions or order a new trial on the two Mann Act charges only. Combs and his lawyers argued in part that he was an amateur porn producer whose freak-off sessions and videos were protected by his First Amendment rights.

“At some point, illegal activity can’t be laundered into constitutionally protected activity just by the desire to watch it,” the judge wrote in his ruling. “Combs’s conduct goes far beyond that point. Evidence at trial showed that when Combs filmed, he didn’t typically give notice ahead of time or ask for consent, as a film producer would; and that he masturbated, suggesting that the purpose was his immediate sexual gratification.”

Ahead of his sentencing, Combs also submitted letters from scores of supporters asking for mercy for the music mogul. One letter submitted late Wednesday was from Gina Huynh, the Combs ex-girlfriend who previously told gossip vlogger Tasha K that Combs shoved her to the ground and dragged her by her hair in 2018. She said he also “stomped” on her stomach in a jealous rage.

Huynh wrote in her letter that she cooperated with prosecutors leading up to the trial and was identified as Victim-3 in court filings. She claimed she was willing to testify, but suggested prosecutors decided not to call her. Huynh said that during her meetings with prosecutors, she felt “pressured to feel like a victim.” She said her “truth” was something different.

“I understand they concluded that I had been sex trafficked and involved in ‘forced prostitution.’ I did not agree with that conclusion. I was not trafficked. I did not engage in prostitution with him or others. That would have been my testimony if called to the stand,” she wrote. “I want to emphasize that I understand the seriousness of this case and the pain others may feel. I cannot speak for anyone but myself. In terms of sentencing, I kindly ask that you consider releasing him back to his family.”

In a victim impact letter submitted to the court by prosecutors late Monday, Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, identified as Victim-1 in Combs’ indictment, pleaded for a substantial sentence. She said Combs beat and threatened her throughout their decade-long relationship, and forced her into voyeuristic, drug-fueled sex marathons with male escorts almost weekly.

Trending Stories

“I was forced into lingerie and heels, told exactly how to look, and plied with drugs and alcohol so he could control me like a puppet. These events were degrading and disgusting, leaving me with infections, illnesses, and days of physical and emotional exhaustion before he demanded it all again. Sex acts became my full-time job, used as the only way to stay in his good graces,” Ventura wrote.

Ventura said that she still suffers from “nightmares and flashbacks” and continues to “require psychological care to cope” with her past. She wrote that she still worries that Combs or his associates will come after her and her family. Ventura added that although her family has moved out of the New York area, she keeps “as private and quiet as I possibly can because I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up about his abuse at trial.”

Diddy Asks Judge for Leniency Ahead of Sentencing

by jummy84 October 3, 2025
written by jummy84

Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a letter to the judge asking for mercy less than 24 hours before he’s set to be sentenced in his federal case.

The mogul wrote a four-page letter to Judge Arun Subramanian asking for leniency in his sentencing. “First and foremost, I want to apologize and say how sincerely sorry I am for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct,” he wrote. “I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs.”

In the letter, Combs states that he understands that saying “I’m sorry” will “never be good enough” as the words “cannot erase the pain from the past.” He reflects on his time spent in prison over the past 13 months, stating that “the scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind.”

He explains that he has come to terms with his past behavior and takes responsibility for it. “I lost my way. I got lost in my journey. Lost in the drugs and the excess. My downfall was rooted in my selfishness. I have been humbled and broken to my core. Jail is designed to break you mentally, physically and spiritually. Over the past year there have been so many times that I wanted to give up. There have been some days I thought I would be better off dead. The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you—I choose to live.”

Combs asks for mercy from the judge and says he wants to be a good father to his seven children and resume being the primary caretaker for his ill mother. “Today, I humbly ask you for another chance—another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life,” he stated. “I am writing this not to gain any sympathy or pity, this experience is simply the truth of my existence and has changed my life forever and I will never commit a crime again.”

Earlier this week, prosecutors in the case asked that Combs be sentenced to at least 11 years in prison on his two counts of transportation for prostitution. This afternoon, Combs’ counsel reinforced their request for Combs to be given 14 months, which would free him by the end of the year, inclusive of time already served. On Tuesday, Judge Subramanian denied Combs’ request for a new trial or acquittal.

Combs is scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. ET. He’s expected to speak directly to the Judge during the sentencing.

Sean Combs Asks for 14-Month Prison Sentence, Cites Addiction Struggle

by jummy84 September 23, 2025
written by jummy84

Sean Combs made a plea for “fairness” ahead of his Oct. 3 sentencing, arguing in a new brief that he deserves no more than 14 months in prison for his two felony convictions for transportation to engage in prostitution.

In the 182-page sentencing memo submitted Monday shortly before the midnight deadline, Combs’ lawyers laid out his life story in an apparent bid for mercy, saying Combs struggled as a child after his father was murdered when he was only three years old. They argued the loss caused a “profound form of trauma” that set the stage for the substance abuse issues Combs wrestled with during his admittedly violent relationships with the two ex-girlfriends involved in his convictions.

“For decades, Mr. Combs struggled with serious substance abuse issues, anger and anxiety, and other flaws that he did not properly or professionally address until his incarceration last year,” the filing obtained by Rolling Stone stated. “Like every addict, his behavior while on painkillers was erratic and unpredictable, and often the reason behind any assaults discussed at the trial.”

His lawyers also attached more than 75 letters of support from family and friends, including Combs’ mother Janice; his sister Keisha; his three teen daughters, Chance, Jessie and D’Lila; and Dana Tran, the mother of Comb’s two-year-old daughter, Love.

Combs, 55, was convicted of the two felony counts on July 2 after a nine-week trial.

The two prostitution charges, violations of a century-old law known as the Mann Act, each carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. For their part, prosecutors previously estimated Combs’ sentencing guidelines range was around four to five years behind bars. Their formal recommendation could be much higher when they file their separate sentencing brief due Sept. 29.

Editor’s picks

Combs, who has served a year in custody, argued in his filing that a review of more than 60 other Mann Act cases determined that the average sentence was 14.9 months of incarceration. Combs and his lawyers claimed it would be “unlawful and a perversion of justice” if the court increases the sentence beyond 14 months based on “the court’s own findings about force or coercion or racketeering.”

Federal judges aren’t required to follow guidelines. In the Southern District of New York, judges stuck to guideline ranges 34.5 percent of the time in the last fiscal year, according to the U.S. Sentencing Commission.

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian will have wide latitude at the Oct. 3 sentencing, and it’s not clear how he’ll rule. But on the day of the verdict, when many speculated that Combs’ acquittal on the top charges would lead to his immediate release on bail pending sentencing, Judge Subramanian took a hard line. He denied the release on the basis that Combs’ defense admitted during trial that Combs was violent with his ex-partner Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, and a more recent ex-girlfriend who testified under the pseudonym Jane. In his closing argument, lead defense lawyer Mark Agnifilo explicitly told jurors that the defense wasn’t challenging the women’s claims of domestic violence.

“In terms of owning, just as a matter of personal responsibility … owning the domestic violence, we own it. It happened,” Agnifilo told the panel in his final address on June 27. “If he was charged with domestic violence, we wouldn’t all be here having a trial, because he would have pled guilty – because he did that.”

Related Content

Rejecting the defense bid for immediate bail on July 2, Subramanian pointed to the disturbing video of Combs’ 2016 assault of Ventura inside L.A.’s now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel before sending a seemingly stunned Combs back into custody. Taking a serious tone, Subramanian also noted the video wasn’t the only violence acknowledged by the defense. He pointed to the days Ventura spent at the London Hotel in Los Angeles to recover after Combs allegedly stomped on her face in a vehicle. (“Obviously, there was some physical event, and she had injuries, okay? So she goes to the hotel as much for her own good as anyone else’s,” Agnifilo told jurors about the fight that landed Ventura at the London Hotel.)

“This type of violence, which happens behind closed doors in personal relationships, sparked by unpredictable bouts of anger, is impossible to police with conditions,” the judge said July 2. Turning to the June 2024 incident at Jane’s house, where, according to Agnifilo, Combs admittedly kicked Jane and restrained her “around the neck” during a blowout fight, the judge called out the timing. He noted the incident came after Combs’ homes were raided by federal authorities in March 2024. “At a time when [Combs] should have known that he needed to stay clean,” the mogul instead showed “a disregard for the rule of law and the propensity for violence,” the judge said.

Combs has been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) since his arrest last September. In a separate motion set for a hearing later this week, Combs is asking that his conviction be set aside as a matter of law or that he be retried on the prostitution charges alone.

In its written opposition, filed Aug. 20, federal prosecutors alleged Combs’ motion should fail because there was “ample evidence to support the jury’s conviction.” They said Combs transported Ventura, Jane, and multiple male commercial sex workers to engage in threesomes, variously dubbed “freak offs” and “hotel nights,” that he stage-directed and often recorded.

Trending Stories

“The defendant masterminded every aspect of freak offs. He transported escorts across state lines to engage in freak offs for pay. He directed the sexual activity of escorts and victims throughout freak offs for his own sexual gratification. And he personally engaged in sexual activity during freak offs,” they wrote. “While the defendant may wish to cabin his participation to mere voyeurism, he was, in reality, an active participant in the sexual activity.”

Prosecutors blasted Combs’ claims that he was an amateur porn producer who should be protected by the First Amendment. “Far from acting like an adult film producer or director, the defendant did not provide advance notice that he may film the sexual encounter and did not seek consent from the participants to be filmed,” they wrote in their Aug. 20 filing. “In fact, multiple participants specifically did not want to be filmed.”

Coldplay asked fans to “send love” to conservative activist Charlie Kirk during their concert at London’s Wembley Stadium Friday night. Prior to the band’s performance of “Fix You,” frontman Chris Martin encouraged the audience to raise their hands and “send love anywhere you wanna send it in the world. There are so many places that might need it today.”

“You can send this to your brother or your sister, you can send it to the families of people who have been going through terrible stuff, you can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family,” Martin continued. “You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway… You can send it to peaceful people in the Middle East, in Ukraine and Russia.”

Kirk was shot an killed during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. A 22-year-old Utah native identified as Tyler Robinson has since been arrested and charged with suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily harm, and obstruction of justice.

Metro In Dino Review By A 90s ‘Kid’: My Old-School Soul Asks ‘Ye Ishq Hai Ya Tharak?’ ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

So recently, I got a chance to watch Metro In Dino on Netflix – one of the most talked films of the recent times. It worked in the theaters and I heart a lot of good things about the film. More so, I was in love with the music album as well, so I decided to dive in Anurag Basu‘s take on modern-day relationships and it has left me as confused as his characters were!

No, do not get me wrong, I am a die-hard Bollywood fan and an equally hopeless romantic when it comes to Hindi films. But over the years, the portrayal of romance on screen has changed for the worst to be honest! Now, not getting into the film’s mirror society or society gets impacted from films debate, I am surprised at the casual approach in relationships, to be honest!

For those who do not know, Metro In Dino is a relationship drama highlighting four couples, and all of them are on the verge of cheating on each other. Do they cheat or do they not is the only curiosity that keeps everyone on toes. And this is where my issue with this film started and never ended!

So, how do we define cheating here? Is it only the physical aspect of a relationship, or do we take emotional cheating into account at any point? These four couples decide to break boundaries of a relationship, and of course, I am no one to decide any boundary for any relationship, and it is totally between two people to set those boundaries, but I definitely need to address this casual conversation around cheating.

The film is so entertaining that I am sure no one has a problem with this casual approach and conversation regarding cheating, something that is totally non-negotiable in a relationship. In fact, in the recent past, many movies have taken this casual approach to cheating in a relationship, and I am just confused. Am I too old school, or has the world progressed too rapidly?

The last I checked, cheating or being disloyal in a relationship was the deal breaker! But Metro In Dino presents it as a thought that needs a discussion. It definitely talks about second chances, but it never bothers to strike a conversation about the discussion that leads to the second chances! Of course, I agree about taking second chances, but only if we failed for the first time by mistake! But cheating is definitely a choice in a relationship.

In one of the songs, Metro In Dino discusses romance and says, “Koi kaise kare farak, ye ishq hai ya tharak?” Well, I think most of us know the answer! But the film definitely confuses my old soul. I think, the 90’s ‘kid’ in me needs to grow up!
