Even after the finale of Karan Johar’s reality show The Traitors, fans continue to discuss the contestants and the controversies that unfolded, especially one involving Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, and veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi.
Apoorva was criticised by several co-contestants for addressing Ashish Vidyarthi in a way some found disrespectful. Now, Ashish has finally spoken about it in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Ashish shared that meeting the younger contestants was a new experience for him. “I met Apoorva on set for the first time. She comes from a very different generation, and her way of thinking is also different. But I found her and others very interesting. Her style, personality, and way of speaking are just how she is—it’s her persona,” he said.
He added that Apoorva reached out to him after the incident. “She messaged me on WhatsApp and said, ‘Sir, I want to apologise.’ I called her and said, ‘Apoorva, I think you’re a wonderful person, and everything is good between us.’”
Ashish also praised Apoorva, saying, “She has a lot of dignity and love for her family. I encouraged her to follow her own path and not let others shape her identity. She even said she’d like to have lunch with me someday, and I told her, “Absolutely.”
The show featured a wide range of celebrities, including Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Jasmine Bhasin, Anshula Kapoor, Raftaar, and others, adding to the drama and entertainment.
