Micky Dolenz Announces ’60 Years of the Monkees’ Tour

by jummy84 November 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Micky Dolenz will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Monkees next year with a new tour that celebrates the band’s history. According to a press release, it will “take audiences on a joyful, musical journey through the Monkees’ history—performing the hits in chronological order, from the chart-topping classics to the fan favorites—all told with his signature warmth, wit, and stories.”

The tour kicks off February 12 at Belly Up in Solana Beach, California, and wraps up November 6 at Northfield Park in Northfield, Ohio. On September 12 — the exact 60th anniversary of the premiere of the Monkees television show — Dolenz will play a special concert in Los Angeles at a venue they aren’t quite ready to announce.

“I’ve spent nearly my entire life either in front of or behind the cameras or microphones,” Dolenz says in a statement. “Much of what I’ve been able to share with the world has come from this thing called ‘The Monkees’ – this wacky musical-comedy TV show about a band struggling for success. Interestingly, on the show, the Monkees never actually made it. Off-screen, however, we sold out concerts all over the world.”

“Mike [Nesmith] put it perfectly when he said, ‘when we first played, all by ourselves, it was like Pinocchio becoming a real little boy,’” he continues. “I remain proud of what I’ve achieved in my time, particularly with my late great and still-beloved Monkee brothers Davy [Jones], Peter [Tork], and Michael. What I want to do, as the 60th anniversary of that wonderful moment is upon me, is to look back and share with the fans the sheer joy of what we accomplished—and what it all still means to so many.”

Dolenz is the voice of the vast majority of the Monkees’ biggest hits, including “I’m a Believer,” “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday,” and “Last Train to Clarksville.” He’s the only member of the band to take part in every single project over the past six decades, and he became the last living Monkee after Nesmith died in 2021, just weeks after the final show of the group’s farewell tour.

Editor’s picks

In 2023, Dolenz did a special solo tour where he performed the 1967 Monkees LP Headquarters in its entirety. Since that time, he’s played sporadic shows where he plays mixes in Monkees hits with covers of Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth,” and Elton John’s “Your Song.” On the upcoming tour, the setlist will be limited entirely to Monkees tunes.

Peach PRC Announces 2026 Tour of Australia & New Zealand

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Peach PRC is set to headline her biggest shows yet, announcing a string of arena and theatre dates across Australia and New Zealand for March 2026.

The Australian pop star will launch her Wandering Spirit tour in Melbourne on March 12 at the Palace Foreshore, followed by stops in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. She’ll then make her New Zealand headlining debut with performances at Shed 6 in Wellington on March 28 and Powerstation in Auckland on March 29.

The tour follows a blockbuster two years for Peach, who released her debut EP Manic Dream Pixie in 2023. That project debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and featured the breakout single “Perfect for You,” which went on to win Best Single at the 2024 Rolling Stone Australia Awards.

Earlier this month, Peach returned with her latest single “Miss Erotica” — a provocative, high-fantasy ode to strip clubs and the showgirls who shaped her early adulthood. Co-written in Los Angeles with Ryan Linvill and Maya Kurchner (Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan), the track marks a bold creative turn for the singer, ushering in what she has described as her most empowered era to date.

Across her catalogue, Peach PRC has racked up over 230 million global streams, alongside more than 2 billion social views and 27 million video views. Her early hits — including “Josh,” “God Is a Freak” and “Forever Drunk” — earned her a loyal online following, but her live presence has grown in tandem. The 2026 tour marks her most extensive run to date, following support slots for Yungblud and previous sold-out headline dates in Sydney and Melbourne.

Joining her on all Australian dates are New York pop singer Maude Latour — who released her debut album Sugar Water in 2024 and has appeared at major festivals including Lollapalooza and Governors Ball — and rising Sydney artist Salty, whose viral 2024 single “See U in 3” kicked off a new era of theatrical, emotionally rich pop.

Frontier Touring will host a members-only presale beginning 1 p.m. local time on Thursday, Nov. 13. General sale begins Friday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m. local time.

Tate McRae Announces Deluxe Edition of ‘So Close to What’

by jummy84 November 10, 2025
written by jummy84

SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) is out Nov. 21 and includes the singer’s latest hit, “Tit for Tat”

Tate McRae has had a busy weekend. On Friday, the pop star earned her first Grammy nomination, for “Just Keep Watching” from the F1 soundtrack. On Saturday, she wrapped her massive tour in Los Angeles — and announced the deluxe edition of So Close to What, out Nov. 21 via RCA.

SO CLOSE TO WHAT??? (deluxe) will feature several new tracks, including McRae’s recent hit “Tit For Tat,” which debuted at Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100. “We had a few more songs that I wanted to share with y’all to close out the SC2W era,” McRae wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait for you to hear.”

McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour spanned 83 dates, including three nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden (two shows in September, and a third in October). At the MTV VMAs earlier this year, she performed a medley of the So Close to What cuts “Sports Car” and “Revolving Door.”

Trending Stories

McRae released So Close to What, her third album, in Feb. 2025, and it debuted at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 — her first LP to do so. In an interview with Rolling Stone, McRae said the title stems from “the idea of not being present at times, feeling like you’re trying to control everything, feeling perceived by so many people, feeling like I’m 21 and the oldest I’ve ever felt but also so young.”

She added: “In the moment, I’m [asking] ‘What do I want out of life? What do I want to do with my music? How do I want to change things?’ If people have an opinion on that, that’s their choice. If I can sleep well at night thinking about what I’m putting out there, then their opinions don’t matter.”

Hole and Smashing Pumpkins legend Melissa Auf der Maur announces memoir ‘Even the Good Girls Will Cry’

by jummy84 November 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Former Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur has announced her memoir, Even The Good Girls Will Cry.

It will be Auf Der Maur’s first book and is described as a “part coming-of-age autobiography, part travel diary, part psychedelic scrapbook” and will also feature rare photos from throughout her career.

The memoir will be released via Da Capo on March 17, 2026 and you can pre-order/pre-save your copy here.

Auf Der Maur is seen as a pivotal figure in ’90s US alternative rock, and her career began as she was studying at university in Montreal when she formed the alternative rock band Tinker. She was recruited by Hole in 1994 and played on several records, including the 1998 classic ‘Celebrity Skin’. After leaving in 1999, she briefly joined The Smashing Pumpkins as touring member, and launched her solo career in 2004 with ‘Auf Der Maur’.

Auf Der Maur has said: “This book is about the decade that defined me and my generation, 1991-2001, and my life in the rock bands which allowed me to have a front row seat to an incredibly visceral and unforgettable moment in the counterculture.”

“It’s a love letter to the power of music and one-of-a-kind voices that make the world a cooler place; it’s also an ode to the analog, and what magic has been lost. Sharing what our generation witnessed, and what the world once was, in my hope of building a more livable future together.”

An official description of the book reads: “Even the Good Girls Will Cry begins with Auf der Maur’s bohemian upbringing in Montreal, where her early, deep connection to art and music gave her entry to the colorful and thriving local creative scene. Working as a cassette DJ and ticket girl, she would see (and sometimes meet) the luminaries who’d pass through town – Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, Pavement, Sonic Youth.”

“Thanks to a thrown beer bottle and a long-shot fan letter to a PO Box, her band Tinker scored a life-changing opening slot for The Smashing Pumpkins and, sensing her natural talent on bass, Billy Corgan recommended her to Courtney Love, just one of the many uncanny threads that weaves destiny throughout this riveting memoir.”

“Whisked from her local scene and thrust into the eye of a hurricane of grief on a global stage, Melissa joined Hole for the band’s 1994 ‘Live Through This’ world tour just after the deaths of Kurt Cobain and Hole’s prior bassist, Kristen Pfaff, with Courtney Love at the center of it all. It was a tour of passionate intensity, as a chaotic yet stunningly powerful band constantly threatened to spin out of control. Melissa brings the reader with raging intimacy into the action, offering a heroic portrait of the unforgettable Courtney Love as she howled into the darkness as if to keep grief at bay.”

This summer, Auf Der Maur reunited with Corgan at a show in Montreal for ‘The Everlasting Gaze’, with the bassist also taking the moment to address her hometown crowd in French.

She also got back in the studio with Courtney Love last year for the first time in over two decades, and the two joined forces in an appearance on 070 Shake’s cover of Tim Buckley’s ‘Song To The Siren’.

Love and Auf der Maur also appeared on stage together in October 2018 in Hudson, New York, playing Hole songs ‘Doll Parts’, ‘Miss World’ and ‘Softer Softest’.

Auf Der Maur also dated Dave Grohl between 1999 and 2001, and in 2023 she reflected on the relationship, saying: “We had this beautiful compatible couple of years where, I mean, we were madly in love.”

Ryan Seacrest announces death of his father Gary Seacrest aged 81

31 October 2025

Ryan Seacrest has announced the death of his father Gary Seacrest aged 81.

Ryan Seacrest has announced the death of his father Gary Seacrest aged 81

Sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media, the 50-year-old radio and television presenter said Gary had died peacefully earlier in the week following a long battle with prostate cancer.

Ryan revealed the news on Friday (31.10.25), writing on Instagram: “It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week. My mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering. We are heartbroken.”

Ryan also called Gary “a devoted husband for 56 years, an incredible Papa to Flora, and my best friend”.

He added: “Dad you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.”

The American Idol host shared several photos alongside the message, showing moments with his father and their family, including his sister, Meredith Seacrest.

Ryan had previously spoken publicly about his father’s health battle.

In a 2021 Instagram post, he said Gary had been “battling cancer for several years”, though at the time doctors believed it was “no longer detectable”.

However, during a July broadcast of his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, he revealed Gary’s cancer had returned and worsened.

He said that while undergoing chemotherapy, Gary also developed pneumonia, which left him in the intensive care unit for several weeks.

Ryan became emotional as he described the experience of watching his father suffer.

“When you see a parent suffering and when you see them going through this and you don’t understand it yourself, you’re just listening to all the different doctors and trying to make sense of what they’re trying to suggest and do,” he said during the July programme.

Ryan added: “I didn’t want to miss trying to understand who these people were that were taking care of my father.”

Gary’s wife, Connie Seacrest, has also battled cancer in the past and is now in remission.

Speaking on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Ryan said the disease “affects every one of us in some way, and it sucks”.

He added: “And the treatments suck… treatments are tough.”

Ryan, who described his father as his “best friend”, has often credited his parents for their support throughout his career in broadcasting, spanning radio, American Idol and television presenting.

Nintendo Announces New The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Soundtrack Box Set

Nintendo has announced a new box set celebrating the soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition to answering many Zelda fans’ requests to own the music on vinyl, the box set also marks the first time the infamously strict Nintendo has ever released a physical soundtrack for sale in the United States. The 8xLP box set is out June 19, via Nintendo and Laced. Check out the tracklist and artwork below.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack is available to pre-order as a 8xLP box set and a 2xLP set. The former goes all out, with blue and gold splatter vinyl, archival artwork on each sleeve, and a blue rigid board slipcase. All 130 specially mastered tracks are in the box set, covering the scope of the game’s soundtrack as composed by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, Hajime Wakai, and Soshi Abe.

Prior to now, Nintendo has released its video game soundtracks on vinyl only in Japan. Nintendo Switch players with an Online membership have access to Nintendo Music, too, which is the company’s app to stream the soundtracks and songs from Nintendo games.
