The makers of The Devil Wears Prada 2 have finally unveiled the teaser of the upcoming film. Taking to its YouTube channel, 20th Century Studios shared the less than one-minute teaser.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser: Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in a still from the film.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser

The video began with Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, walking to her office lift as people were busy working. As the lift was about to close, Anne Hathaway’s character, Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs, entered it smiling and saying, “Miranda.” Very unlike her character, Miranda moved sideways briefly to make room for Andy. She then replied, “Took you long enough.” The video ended with Andy smiling and wearing her sunglasses as the lift closed.

Fans can’t wait to watch Meryl, Anne after two decades

Anne also took to her Instagram page and shared the teaser. She wrote, “It’s everyone’s birthday. #43 #DWP2.” The teaser was unveiled on her 43rd birthday. Reacting to the teaser, a fan said, “So gorgeous! I am looking forward to watching this. It will be a great success!” “Oh my God! I’m so excited for the next year. Can’t wait to see Miranda and Andy together again,” read a comment.

“The fact that Miranda actually moves to the side to give Andy more room is some major character development,” a person wrote. A social media user said, “Now THIS is how you make a teaser trailer. The heels, the music, Miranda, and finally Andy. Chef’s kiss.” “Meryl really is a shapeshifter! To see her in Only murders in the Building, then back in this role! What a class actor!” said another fan.

Adele is slated to make her acting debut in the upcoming Tom Ford adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel Cry to Heaven. According to Deadline, Adele, 37, will join the star-studded cast of the movie that will also be written and produced by Ford through his Fade to Black production shingle.

Among those reportedly lined up to feature in the film set in 18th century Italy are: Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ciarán Hinds, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Owen Cooper, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Hunter Schafer, Josephine Thiesen, Thandiwe Newton, Theodore Pellerin, Daryl McCormack, Cassian Bilton, Hauk Hannemann and Lux Pascal.

The film is reportedly in pre-production in London and Rome now, with principal photography set to begin in mid-January for a planned late fall 2026 release. At press time a spokesperson for Adele had not returned Billboard‘s request for confirmation on her debut film role.

The singer known for going off the radar between albums, has been quiet since completing her massive Weekends with Adele residency series in Munich, Germany in August 2024. Her most recent album was her fourth LP, 2021’s 30, which featured the songs “Easy On Me,” “Oh My God,” “Can I Get It” and “I Drink Wine.”

The Rice novel tells the tale of a Venetian nobleman and a castrati singer from Calabria who are both trying to make their names in the opera world. Director and fashion designer Ford has directed two other films to date, beginning with his debut, 2009’s period romance A Single Man about a gay British professor (Colin Firth) living in Los Angeles in the early 1960s.

He followed that with the acclaimed 2016 neo-noir thriller Nocturnal Animals starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, Taylor-Johnson, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney and others in a story about an art gallery owner (Adams) who receives a manuscript for a novel written by her estranged ex-husband (Gyllenhaal) which appears to mirror their failed relationship. The latter won the 2016 Grand Jury prize at the Venice Film Festival and landed an Oscar nomination for Shannon for best supporting actor.

bitchy | Lady Anne Glenconner: QEII should have found Prince Charles ‘a suitable wife’

by jummy84 November 9, 2025
written by jummy84

Lady Anne Glenconner was lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret, and she was close with many of that generation of royals and aristocrats. Lady Anne married Baron Glenconner, who violently abused her throughout their decades-long marriage, then disinherited her in his will. This explains why Lady Anne has fashioned a late-in-life career for herself as a memoirist, novelist and royal commentator – she simply needs the money. A few years ago, she claimed that John Kerry told her that all Americans “feel very sorry for Prince Harry,” a claim which was later disputed by the Biden-era State Department. Well, Lady Anne’s latest book is Manners and Mischief, and she gets into more personal stories which I guess she left out of her bestselling memoir. Stories about… Princess Diana and the Spencer family. And one judgement about the Windsors. As excerpted by the Mail:

QEII should have worked harder to find Charles a bride: I do slightly feel that the late Queen Elizabeth could have worked harder to try to find Prince Charles a suitable wife. The queens of Greece and Spain used to entertain royal princesses from other European countries in order to find a wife for their sons, but I think because the Queen had fallen in love and had such a successful marriage to Prince Philip, she wasn’t really focused on Prince Charles in the same way.

The grandmothers were happy though: The Queen Mother and Lady Fermoy [Diana’s maternal grandmother] were keen that the marriage to Diana should happen. I have a letter the Queen Mother wrote to my mother expressing her delight at the proposed marriage. Prince Philip was also very much in favour of the union, and, of course, Prince Charles needed to marry a virgin which Diana appeared to be.

Diana’s youth & popularity: She was so young when they married and had very little life experience. And I think when she became so incredibly popular with the public, it was very hard for Prince Charles. I had a certain sympathy for him when he was asked if he was in love with Diana during their engagement interview and he said: ‘Whatever in love means’. I think love is complicated.

Nanny troubles: My sister said that Diana had a rather tenuous grasp on the truth, and I wonder whether it was the result of being brought up in such an unhappy household. Years later, when Diana was pregnant with William and looking for a nanny, Princess Margaret suggested she employ our wonderful nanny Barbara Barnes. Barbara went for the interview but didn’t hear anything back. It fell to me to follow up with Diana’s household and when I called, I was told: ‘Oh, yes she’s got the job,’ though no one had bothered to let Barbara know. Eventually, though, Diana became jealous of how fond William and Harry were of Barbara and she got rid of her.

Diana was still gracious to this awful woman: I was extremely touched by the letter Diana wrote to me after my son Henry died [from Aids, aged 29 in 1990]. She had met him while visiting patients at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington. She wrote that she was very struck by Henry’s inner strength and emphasised how he had given her a greater understanding of how to cope with Aids. At a time when most people couldn’t even talk about Aids, Diana’s directness about the illness and appreciation of Henry was very comforting and meant a great deal to me.

[From The Daily Mail]

It’s true that Diana and Charles’s grandmothers were involved in their courtship, and they believed it was a smart match because of Diana’s youth and inexperience, but also because of Diana’s aristocratic background. I don’t think the grandmothers really understood that Diana was so modern and so different from most aristocrats of the era. As for the idea of QEII doing more to introduce Charles to suitable young women… in some sense, Lady Anne is correct, and QEII should have taken more of an interest considering Charles was the heir and the monarchy’s future hinged on his choice of bride. But I’m sure QEII’s perspective was that Prince Philip, the Queen Mum and Lord Mountbatten had it covered.

What’s also fascinating is that Charles, in turn, took a hands-off approach to his sons and their paths towards finding their brides. Charles didn’t do it consciously, he’s just so negligent and self-absorbed, I’m not sure it would have occurred to him that he should have done more to throw eligible, well-heeled aristocratic women in his sons’ paths. It’s also worth noting that those well-heeled aristo girls wanted absolutely nothing to do with William. Those girls and their parents saw the way that family destroyed Diana. Still, you’d think that Charles would have stepped in when the Middletons were making their moves. Alas, he did not.

‘Anne Rice’s Talamasca’ Review: AMC Drama Is Disappointing

by jummy84 October 26, 2025
written by jummy84

“Interview With the Vampire,” the opening salvo of AMC’s attempt to turn the oeuvre of fantasy author Anne Rice into a so-called Immortal Universe of television shows, is one of the best shows on air. Smart, sensual and frequently funny, “Interview” manages the balancing act of all great adaptations in both preserving and updating its source material; I ecstatically await a Season 3 styled as a rock documentary about the vampire Lestat (Sam Reid).

This master plan’s sophomore effort, “Mayfair Witches,” has been a relative letdown. The  scattered drama lacks the passion and eccentricity that are the, well, lifeblood of “Interview With the Vampire.” Nor does the starring vehicle for Alexandra Daddario offer a concise, specific take to differentiate itself from Rice’s original — its own version of making Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) a Black man who falls in love with his maker. A second season came and went earlier this year with minimal fanfare.

The third Immortal Universe show, “Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order” — which we will refer to from here on out as “Talamasca,” because let’s not be ridiculous — sadly hews closer to “Mayfair” than “Interview” in quality. The six-episode season, which was provided to critics in its entirety, is a disjointed and muddled attempt to turn Rice’s centuries-old secret society into a vehicle for a half-hearted spy thriller. The premiere has a couple bright spots in the form of cameos from “Interview” star Eric Bogosian and, in a confusing but welcome appearance, Jason Schwartzman as a vampire who lives in the penthouse of the Dakota. (Maybe he’s a big Rice fan, if not enough of one to stick around past a single episode.) Once these training wheels come off, though, “Talamasca” never achieves the momentum to chart its own path.

What is the Talamasca, exactly, and what do its members do? Answering these questions would seem to be a basic prerequisite of a show named after the fictional group, but “Talamasca” will leave viewers mostly in the dark. Creator John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side”) and co-showrunner Mark Lafferty (“Halt and Catch Fire”) position protagonist Guy (Nicholas Denton) as a classic audience surrogate, speed-running a chosen one narrative as the telepath is recruited by mysterious Brit Helen (Elizabeth McGovern, channeling her “Downton Abbey” co-stars) to join the Talamasca in lieu of starting a lucrative law job. Where Guy’s abilities come from and how they fit into this world’s cosmology are never fully explained. Supposedly, the Talamasca are a mortal-led counterweight to paranormal forces like vampires and witches, but they clearly have some supernatural tools of their own.

Guy himself proves as generic a hero as his name. Denton, an Australian who could be cousins with Eddie Redmayne, struggles with his American accent even after his character gets shipped off to London to check in on a Talamasca “mother house” when another operative turns up dead. His training is supposed to take a year, but gets crammed into a week because time is of the essence — a compression that reads like a metaphor for this overstuffed, rushed-feeling season. Guy gets little motivation or personality besides the search for his mother, a fellow telepath he grew up in foster care believing to be dead. It turns out the Talamasca was behind not just his placement with a Florida family, but the scholarships that afforded him an elite education.

As if the Talamasca’s deep pockets and connections weren’t shady enough, Guy keeps getting standard-issue warnings about how “they’re lying to you” and “they can’t be trusted.” These flags come from a slew of secondary characters who abruptly rise and fade in significance as Guy tries to figure out where his loyalties should lie. The constantly shifting allegiances are meant to form a twisty yarn in the aggregate, though the effect is largely just confusing — especially when Helen gets a subplot investigating her own past that distracts from her role as the chilly, withholding boss.

The throughline here is a hunt for a MacGuffin known as the 752, named for the year of the Talamasca’s founding. It’s the backup of an archive that burned 50 years ago in a fire at the organization’s Amsterdam outpost, and Helen is hot on its trail at the same time as Jasper (William Fichtner), a vampire with an axe to grind against the Talamasca. Fichtner is alone in the cast in giving a performance with the flair Rice’s prose deserves, perhaps because only Jasper gets nonsensical-yet-hilarious lines like “You are a flea bouncing off the hard dick of our immortal history!” But Jasper is outnumbered by perfunctory elements like the 752, Guy’s mother and Helen’s own long-lost family, none of which successfully infuse a sense of urgency.

With “Talamasca,” the underwhelming entries in the Immortal Universe now outnumber the exciting ones. Though “Talamasca” ends with enough balls in the air that a Season 2 seems assured, no additional concepts have been ordered to series. Before that happens, some introspection might be in order as to why neither “Mayfair” nor “Talamasca” has measured up to the operatic thrills of “Interview.” Until then, fans will just have to wait for “The Vampire Lestat.”

“Anne Rice’s Talamasca: The Secret Order” will premiere with two episodes on AMC and AMC+ on Oct. 26 at 9 p.m. ET.

Anne Hathaway’s Fall Outfit Formula Is So Easy—and Cheap—to Replicate

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

Anne Hathaway is taking her style cues from the outline of the woman figure on bathroom doors, but in a fashion way. We don’t mean that as a diss, honest.

For the past month, her preferred silhouette has been a clean T-shirt shape and a long train that’s either attached to or indistinguishable from her top, and we’re starting to see the vision. It’s giving cape. On October 4 the Oscar winner attended the Balenciaga spring-summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week, wearing dramatic opera gloves and a graphic T-shirt that, when she stood up, was sort of a mullet; short in the front, long in the back, reaching the floor and trailing dramatically behind her. Thus the T-shirt train was born.

Add to this the fact that she was spotted in a boxier white version of a similar garment while on set for a certain sequel over the summer and you’ve got yourself a trend in the making…

Then, on October 20, Hathaway attended the 19th annual Golden Heart Awards benefitting God’s Love We Deliver in New York City wearing a Michael Kors ensemble that, while not technically a T-shirt train, could have fooled us. In head-to-toe black, she rocked a T-shirt and pants, plus a gauzy wraparound skirt that certainly had a train-like appearance as it billowed out behind her when she walked.

bitchy | Royalist: Princess Anne ‘delivered an epic snub to Harry’ by visiting Ukraine

by jummy84 October 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Do you remember King Charles’s coronation in 2023? Do you remember how it was scheduled on Prince Archie’s fourth birthday? Do you remember how much of the energy before, during and after the coronation was devoted to Prince Harry and Meghan Sussex? For months, the coronation storyline was “will the Sussexes be invited” and “will they come?” When Meghan skipped it, they were enraged and they wouldn’t shut up about why she didn’t come back to allow them to scream at her and abuse her. Even the coronation itself felt like it was all about Harry, what he was wearing, who he spoke to, how long he stayed (he left England immediately following the Chubbly), and most importantly, how Harry was “snubbed.” That was a major storyline: sure, the king’s son came to the coronation, but we’re still going to punish him for his crimes of living in California! One of those snubs was… Princess Anne wearing a plumed hat, with a feather blocking some of Harry’s view. Seriously. I bring all of this up because Tom Sykes claimed that “Princess Anne Delivers Epic Snub to Harry in Ukraine.” You see, Harry visited Ukraine last month, and Anne visited the country this week. Here’s Sykes’ take.

Remember the coronation feather? That giant plume on Princess Anne’s hat, which just happened to block Prince Harry’s face from the cameras as he sat in Westminster Abbey for his father’s big day? At the time, there was chatter that Anne herself had wondered whether she should remove it, but she didn’t, and the message, intentional or not, was unmistakable: the showrunners of this soap opera know how to deploy their bit part actors with ruthless efficiency.

Well, they’ve done it again. For, today, it emerged that Anne was parachuted into Harry’s patch — Ukraine — and not just Ukraine, but the very territory you’d think was reserved for Harry alone: the rehab centers, the veteran recovery programs, the Invictus turf.

Other than the, uh, entire itinerary, the contrast couldn’t be sharper. When Harry went to Kyiv last month, his trip was shrouded in secrecy. His meetings weren’t photographed. A rumored encounter with Zelensky has never been confirmed. Harry brought along a friendly Guardian journalist and photographer, and fell, inevitably, into the trap of talking about himself. The predictable result was that the memoir, his father, and his grievances made headlines, rather than what the trip was supposed to highlight: the recovery of wounded veterans in Ukraine. Noble work, yes, but muddied in execution.

Anne? No fuss, no Guardian interview, no Netflix crew, no need to explain or complain. Just the pictures: shaking hands with Zelensky, sitting with amputees in physiotherapy, watching disabled veterans in the gym, poking her nose into the “salt rooms” used for mental and spiritual rehabilitation (yeah, we can do touchy-feely too, pal). Straightforward duty, photographed, packaged, and broadcast by both the palace and the Ukrainians.

Crucially, Anne was there officially, at the request of the British government. Harry had “permission” to go, sure, but Whitehall was visibly uneasy about him freelancing on geopolitics. They couldn’t stop him, but they could make sure he was upstaged. Enter Anne: the hardest-working royal, the archetype of service without ego, beaming out images that Zelensky and Harry weren’t ever going to be allowed to deliver.

Harry’s camp said that Anne’s trip was “great” and that “anything that shines a light on Ukraine is to be welcomed.” Harry is passionate about the cause; he has shown that. But I still can’t help wondering whether, for Meghan and Harry, seeing his aunt beam out the very images he was denied, it all felt very like the coronation feather all over again.

[From The Royalist Substack]

It IS the coronation feather all over again, but not in the way Sykes means. It’s another version of the feather because the Windsors are obsessed with Harry, and they have constantly shown that 90% of what they do and the decisions they make are all for an audience of one: Harry. Anne’s trip didn’t overshadow Harry’s trip last month – Anne’s trip exposed (yet again) that the Windsors are desperate to ride Harry’s coattails and colonize his life and achievements. It’s actually not a flex to admit that the whole-ass British government threw a tantrum and begged President Zelenskyy not to publish his photo with Harry. It’s an admission of how far the British monarchy and government will go to thwart, harm and marginalize Harry through official channels. Also: Harry’s trip was photographed. He was photographed meeting with veterans, he was photographed receiving personal gifts, he was photographed visiting the Alley of Heroes. Ukrainians spoke openly about how they feel like Harry has a Ukrainian spirit, a Ukrainian soul. They admire him and they want to see more of him. Harry’s trip got much more global attention than Anne’s. I would be willing to bet that Harry’s trip got more attention within Ukraine as well.

Anne Hathaway Is Desperate to Make T-Shirt Trains Happen

Of course, Anne Hathaway’s entrance was even more dramatic than this photo could possibly encapsulate. In a video shared by Vogue, you can see the jersey fabric billowing as she approaches her costar outside the venue, making her look every bit a rockstar before you even notice the leather gloves. As one commenter wrote, “OMG! This look! I want that t-shirt!”

Not for nothing, but Meryl Streep recently filmed a scene for The Devil Wears Prada sequel at an actual Paris Fashion Week show, though there’s no current evidence Hathaway was being filmed at Balenciaga. And while this is definitely not a look I’d subscribe to Andy Sachs, a very similar piece made its way into the fictional ex-Runway assistant’s wardrobe for the film’s highly anticipated sequel, which is currently in production.

Back in July, we did see Hathaway run through New York City as Andy while dressed in an all-white look featuring a plain white Phoebe Philo t-shirt with a dramatic train of its own. At the time, Hathaway was not rocking the copper-toned highlights or deep side-part she’s currently rocking in Paris, so either Andy’s getting an edgy glow-up or Hathaway is off the clock.

Anne Hathaway is seen filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 in NYC on July 25, 2025.

The video began with Anne’s character, Mia Thermopolis, in The Princess Diaries, slipping and falling on the school bleachers. The move was unscripted but perfectly fitting for the film. The words in the clip read, “How it started.”

The video next showed her slipping and falling on the stairs in the midst of the shoot. The actor, however, bounced back, holding a bagel in her hand. “How’s it going. Witnessing the queen herself take a tumble like a champ,” the text read. Sharing the video, Anne captioned her post: “Twenty years later, still falling for you…”

In the video, Anne, dressed in a knee-length skirt, a top, strappy heels and shades, walked down the stairs when she fell down. The actor landed on her bottom, with one leg behind her, as her hair fell over her face. She got back up on her feet quickly, laughed and said, “I’m fine.”

In 2020, during an interview in The Happy Days of Garry Marshall, Anne had said that her fall on the bleachers in The Princess Diaries scene was totally unplanned. “I turned really fast, slipped on a puddle, and just I mean fell. I mean, just absolutely fell, and burst out laughing and kept going with the scene. Never thought about it again. All of a sudden, like six months later, it’s in the trailer … He kept it because it was a charming moment,” she said.

How is Anne Hathaway not severely injured after this fall? I don’t think it was a stunt for The Devil Wears Prada 2, but I would need to be hospitalized. [JustJared]

Actually, Anne Hathaway Had Two Princess Diaries Moments During That Devil Wears Prada Tumble

Yes, yes, Anne Hathaway had a very Princess Diaries moment while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2.

By now you’ve likely seen photos and video of Hathaway’s heel snapping off, leading the 42-year-old actor to fall down a stoop in New York City on August 27. Luckily, she was quick to pop back up with a smile on her face, which meant fans were safe to share references to another famous tumble she took while filming The Princess Diaries in the year 2000.

Even Hathaway herself got nostalgic, sharing an edit of both falls on Instagram with the caption, “Twenty years later, still falling for you… 💕”

But not enough people are mentioning that Andy Sachs’ latest look was already a sartorial reference to The Princess Diaries. Aside from the studded—and apparently unstable—heels, Hathaway was dressed in a knee-length Fendi skirt with fluid pleating and gold hardware, which she paired with a sheer plaid top over a black bra. Of course, she finished off the look with Andy’s trusted Coach messenger bag.

You know who else wore knee-length pleated skirts and plaid?

Intentional or not, I will never look at Anne Hathaway in this combo without thinking of Mia Thermopolis, so there was absolutely no need for her to recreate the moment so viscerally! Although, now that I think about it, the skirt’s length and layers made it the best possible choice for a trip, as there was little risk of flashing the paparazzi…

Obviously, I’m kidding. I highly doubt Hathaway purposefully broke her heel—just like she didn’t intentionally fall on those bleachers during that painfully funny moment in The Princess Diaries. Just like this time, Hathaway remembers slipping, laughing, and keeping things moving after slipping on a puddle during the scene with Heather Matarazzo.

“Never thought about it again and all of a sudden, like six months later, it’s in the trailer,” she recalled while honoring late director Gary Marshall back in 2021. “He kept it! He kept it because it was a charming moment.”

Only time will tell if The Devil Wears Prada 2 director David Frankel will make the same call but either way, I want that skirt.
