Regina Hall Says Reuniting With the Wayans & Anna Faris Made ‘Scary Movie 6’ an Easy Yes

@the.jasmine.brand: Regina Hall says stepping back into the role of Brenda Meeks for “Scary Movie 6” felt natural once she realized the franchise’s original team was coming back together. The actress explained that reading the script confirmed the film was headed in the right direction.

“I read the script — and it was really funny. I knew what they were intending to do,” Hall said, noting that movies often evolve as they’re being made. “I always think a work of art is in flux until it’s done and in someone’s hands — you just never know.”

For Hall, the biggest excitement came from the reunion. “But the original cast coming back was exciting. Having the Wayans involved again, and Anna Faris too — Brenda can’t live without Cindy,” she shared, referencing Faris’ longtime role as Cindy Campbell. Hall joked that despite the time that’s passed, Brenda still isn’t a better friend: “And she’s no better a friend to Cindy this time than she was before, even though they’re still best friends.”

Hall added that the timing and nostalgia surrounding the comeback made the decision feel right. “It was a good time to do something so broad and fun,” she explained. After reading the new script, she immediately thought, “This is funny.” She also believes audiences are ready for the movie’s tone: “I think something is refreshing about doing something a little bit irreverent right now.”

Jared Padalecki & Anna Fricke's Texas Medical Drama Gets Development Room Order At CBS

Jared Padalecki & Anna Fricke’s Texas Medical Drama Gets Development Room Order At CBS

by jummy84 November 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Walker star/executive producer Jared Padalecki‘s re-teaming with the CW series’ executive producer/showrunner Anna Fricke is advancing at CBS. The network has given a development room order to the untitled medical drama.

The project, from CBS Studios where Fricke is under an overall deal and Padalecki has a first-look pact, was set up at CBS for development in January.

That is not typically a broadcast buying window but since switching to long-term, year-round development two years ago, CBS has been leaning heaving into off-cycle orders after a lengthy development process that sometimes includes writers rooms.

CBS recently gave a series order to Robert and Michelle King’s legal drama Cupertino starring Mike Colter, which also went through a writers room order after initially being put in development in summer 2024. The network’s current medical drama Watson also followed the development room model.

Stocking up on classic TV drama genres, Cupertino will join CBS’ hit legal drama Matlcok, with the Fricke/Padalecki project looking to join Watson. The network has several entries in the cop (and adjacent) field, most recently hot freshmen Boston Blue and Sheriff Country.

Like Walker, the untitled Fricke/Padalecki project is set in Padalecki’s home state of Texas. Unlike most medical dramas, which take place at big, urban hospitals, it spotlights rural medicine, which is rarely seen on TV. It centers on a headstrong, devoted doctor (Padalecki) who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor escaping her past, as they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.

Fricke and Laura Terry executive produce through Fricke’s Pursued by a Bear alongside Padalecki. Genevieve Padalecki also is producing; Padalecki’s former manager Dan Spilo is no longer involved. It is unclear yet whether the project would target the 2026-27 or 2027-28 season.

Padalecki recently recurred on CBS/CBS Studios’ Fire Country with a possibility to spin off his character into a separate series. There has been no movement on that idea, and there have been no plans for the Supernatural alum to return to Fire Country this season.

In addition to headlining and executive producing CW/CBS Studios’ Walker, Padalecki also executive produced the prequel series Walker: Independence, working on both with Fricke who developed the former and co-developed the latter in addition to her services as executive producer on both and showrunner on Walker.

Fricke’s series credits also include 4400, Valor and Wayward Pines.

Summer Walker Pays Tribute To Anna Nicole Smith On New Album Cover

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Summer Walker has taken inspiration from late cultural icon Anna Nicole Smith for the cover art for her forthcoming studio album Finally Over It, recreating the infamous photograph of Smith at her wedding ceremony with J. Howard Marshall.

Walker unveiled the album’s cover art via social media on Wednesday (Nov. 6) evening, announcing that the project will be released on Friday, Nov. 14.

The cover is a coy reference to the R&B star’s disenchantment with traditional romantic relationships and prioritization of financial and material gain in her dealings with men, an accusation levied upon Anna Nicole Smith regarding her own love life.

Summer Walker (L) attends the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 07, 2025 in Elmont, New York.

In June 1994, Smith, who was 26-years-old at the time, married Marshall, an 89 year-old millionaire and former government official, in a wedding held at the White Dove Chapel in Houston, TX.

Marshall, a stakeholder in notably Koch Industries with an estimated net worth of $550 million, would pass away of pneumonia in August 1995, with Smith eventually losing a lengthy legal battle with Marshall’s family and estate regarding his fortune.

Walker, whose tumultuous relationships have been addressed in her music and bled over into tabloid fodder, has been vocal about her newfound attitude towards men, an admission the 29-year-old recently made in a clip that went viral on social media.

“Men are providers, and that’s it,” the hitmaker told journalist Speedy Morman during an interview. “I’m not attracted to them.” When asked whether that meant “bleeding them dry,” she chuckled while confirming, “Yes. As soon as I get everything, you’re off.”

Prior to those comments, life seemingly imitated her art, as Walker showed up to the 2025 MTV VMAs with an older Caucasian man as her “mystery guest.”

Following her 2019 effort Over It and its 2021 sequel Still Over It, Finally Over It arrives a full four years after the previous offering in the series and marks the songstresses most anticipated release to date.

With high-profile features alongside Usher (“Good Good”), Odeal (“You’re Stuck), and Cardi B (“Dead,” “Shower Tears”), her own 2024 hit single “Heart of a Woman,” and her most release solo release “Spend It,” the GRAMMY-nominated artist has managed to keep her voice on the airwaves and increase her popularity despite sporadic releases, an admirable task in today’s content-hungry landscape.

Anna von Hausswolff Pushes Herself Towards Popular Songwriting on ‘Iconoclasts’

by jummy84 November 4, 2025
written by jummy84

It seemed inevitable that Anna von Hausswolff would make an album inspired by This Mortal Coil, the 4AD collective that covered songs by Gene Clark, Alex Chilton, and more, injecting them with its gothic touch. Iconoclasts, the sixth album by the Swedish musician out October 31, may feel more like conventional music to those accustomed to von Hausswolff’s solo droning pipe organ compositions. However, Iconoclasts is easily her most exhilarating and emotionally wrenching album yet.

Von Hausswolff is no stranger to controversy. When a blogger once called her the “high priestess” of “satanic harmonies,” Catholic protesters prevented her from performing at churches in Paris and Nantes. But fans may be the ones who are surprised this time, as Iconoclasts defies expectations for an Anna von Hausswolff record.

Take “Aging Young Women,” which features Ethel Cain. If Iconoclasts is truly von Hausswolff’s This Mortal Coil record, then “Aging Young Women” is her “Song to the Siren” in its melancholy yet earwormy, beauty. Meanwhile, Iggy Pop turns up to duet on the devastating “The Whole Woman,” his appearance adding a deep level of cred to the musician who is nowhere near a household name.

At 12 tracks and nearly 75 minutes, Iconoclasts is a challenging but deeply rewarding listen. Instrumental opening track “The Beast” features saxophonist Otis Sandsjö who tears in, here and on many other songs, like John Zorn possessed. Meanwhile, “The Iconoclast” is the record’s centerpiece, an 11-minute cri du cœur that alternates between shimmering instrumentals featuring Sandsjö’s saxophone and von Hausswolff’s impassioned vocals. “Can I be your dream?” she asks. “Can I change your life?”

Yes, Iconoclasts does feel like a life-changing album in its richness and beauty. Von Hausswolff has not made a conventional record by any means, as the songs surprise with their intensity and shifting directions. This feels like music that the artist has dumped everything into, an emotional journey that isn’t always easy. Those familiar with von Hausswolff’s organ drones will recognize a similar quality of disorientation and maximalism in these 12 songs.

From the propulsive drumming on “Stardust” to Sandsjö’s burbling sax on “Facing Atlas,” Iconoclasts is a record about discovery. Not just musical rabbit holes, but the emotional tunnels von Hausswolff is willing to explore. Like the best Dead Can Dance tracks, the songs on Iconoclasts burrow deep into the soul, remain constantly surprising, and inspire repeat listens. This is what the best music does, and Iconoclasts places Anna von Hausswolff in the conversation for the year’s greatest record.

The Beatles Biopics Add Anna Sawai, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Aimee Lou Wood

The Beatles Biopics Add Anna Sawai, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Aimee Lou Wood

by jummy84 November 2, 2025
written by jummy84

The women behind The Beatles have been revealed. Sony Pictures has announced four new cast additions to Sam Mendes’ four biopic films about The Beatles, confirming whom will portray the love interests for John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

Anna Sawai, best known for her breakout work in “Shogun,” is set to star as Yoko Ono. Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan, as previously reported, is playing Linda (Eastman) McCartney. Mia McKenna-Bruce, known for “How to Have Sex,” is playing Ringo’s partner Maureen (Cox) Starkey. And Aimee Lou Wood, a breakout from the most recent season of “The White Lotus,” is playing Pattie (Boyd) Harrison.

“Maureen, Linda, Yoko, and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure,” Mendes said in a statement.

'Bugonia'

The four of them join a cast that also includes Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.

While nearly all four of those women had been rumored to be among the cast for some time, Sony did give us a few more clues as to what other real-life characters might get some prominent roles in the films. The announcement says that actors portraying Cynthia Lennon, Brian Epstein, George Martin, Ravi Shankar, and other key roles will be forthcoming.

“The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event,” as it is officially titled for now, are being directed, written, and produced by Mendes through his Neal Street banner alongside Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor. Alexandra Derbyshire is also producing, and Sony Pictures is making the films in association with the band’s label Apple Corps.

Each of the four films will tell the perspective of a different member of the Fab Four, but any specific details about what periods in their lives are being explored and how much of The Beatles’ history will be seen on screen remains unclear. And in a daring gambit, all four films will be released the same month in April 2028, though specific release plans — like whether they will be one a week or all at once, and which film audiences should see first — are still murky.

Regardless, The Beatles films are expected to be the definitive biopic on The Beatles, with each member (or their estates) granting full life stories and music rights for a scripted film.

Maureen Cox was an early fan of The Beatles who met Ringo Starr at the Cavern Club in 1962. Their romance blossomed quickly, they married in 1965, and had three children together. Linda Eastman was a celebrated photographer when she met Paul McCartney in 1967. There was an instant attraction and McCartney later said, “The first time I saw her, I just knew.” John Lennon first met the Japanese artist Yoko Ono at a London exhibition of her work. Although Lennon was married at the time, he was immediately intrigued by her, and the two eventually became inseparable creative partners for the rest of his life. Pattie Boyd was a successful model when in 1964 she met George Harrison on the set of the Beatles movie “A Hard Day’s Night.” The two began dating and later married, with Boyd sharing Harrison’s growing interest in Eastern mysticism.

McKenna-Bruce is represented by 42 Management, CAA, and Luber Roklin. Ronan is repped by CAA. Sawai is repped by WME, 42, United Agents, and Chris Abramson. Wood is repped by CAA, Independent, and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.

Old Navy x Anna Sui Collab Blends Two 90s Fashion Icons

by jummy84 October 28, 2025

Calling all fashion lovers because the nineties… and seventies… and sixties called, and they want to be back inside your closets. Luckily, New York-based fashion designer Anna Sui was tapped by Old Navy for its first-ever designer collaboration — fronted by Y2K-coded singer-songwriter PinkPantheress.

“Anna really understands who our customer is, what she wants, how she lives, and we knew this was an amazing moment to bring that,” Zac Posen, creative director of Gap Inc. and chief creative officer of Old Navy, tells Refinery29. “Anna is a design and style icon, and I thought to bring that to another nineties icon, Old Navy, made perfect sense to launch this.”

Known for “her whimsy, her magic, her cool, and her rock ‘n’ roll energy,” in the words of Posen, Sui’s Almost Famous Penny Lane-meets-witchy Stevie Nicks aesthetic is on full display with this “Bohemian collection.” Think: faux fur Afghan coats (aka Penny Lane coats), lace cardigans, floral dusters, and satin slip skirts (one of Sui’s favorite styles),

But we’re not just swooning over the styles… we’re also thrilled about the prices. “There’s a lot of Anna Sui DNA incorporated into this collection, but made with the expertise of Old Navy, and into very accessible, affordable pieces,” Sui tells Refinery29 about the collection, which ranges between a $10 floral headscarf and $120 vegan suede coat.

All Creatures Great and Small's Anna Madeley on Siegfried speculation

All Creatures Great and Small’s Anna Madeley on Siegfried speculation

by jummy84 October 24, 2025
written by jummy84

Anna Madeley visibly bristles when I suggest that Mrs Hall, her much beloved housekeeper from All Creatures Great and Small, might be repressed.

“It’s funny,” she begins in a tone that does not indicate amusement, “putting labels on characters when one of the things I love about this show, one of the things we’ve set out to do from the get-go, is avoid tropes and archetypes”.

Mrs Hall, Madeley is adamant, is not your typical busybody, buttoned-up housekeeper.

“We could have very easily come out with the old trope of the bossy woman telling everyone what to do, which a lot of people expect, and instead what’s really refreshing is having a character who has proper story behind her, history that informs who she is.”

And who is she?

“She is a woman of her time with expectations of her life that fit where she’s from. She had a difficult time with her husband and she’s come through something there. She’s had a difficult time with her son and she’s come through something there. Her life’s been tough.”

Madeley is, of course, quite right to challenge my broad brush strokes’ characterisation of her character. Younger than she is in the novels and altogether warmer a character, Madeley’s Mrs Hall is a woman with hinterland, and hidden talents. Just tonight, we discovered her heretofore unknown adeptness at darts.

Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall. 5

Played with delicacy and nuance by Madeley, Mrs Hall isn’t just Skeldale House’s beacon of decency, stoicism and quiet resilience – without whom the house could not function, on a very practical level – she is also its moral centre and beating heart. Yes, there is a fortitude befitting the period and Mrs Hall’s class and position, but there is also extraordinary tenderness. As the vets of All Creatures deal with wounded animals, Mrs Hall, in her own way, heals wounded souls – including her own.

“She’s someone who speaks her mind, gently,” Madeley says. “She’s the person in the house who does say there’s an elephant in the room and we need to talk about it.”

Read more:

So far, it has just been metaphorical elephants that Mrs Hall’s had to deal with but anything is possible where Siegfried is concerned. Given the chemistry between the curmudgeonly eccentric vet played by Samuel West and Mrs Hall, might that include romance?

“Oh my God, no,” Madeley exclaims, half-laughing, half-aghast. “A real friendship has blossomed between the two of them and they are of a generation so there’s lots of things they can share and understand about one another from their lived experiences. But we just have a lot of fun with these two characters who butt heads a bit.”

Seeming to put paid to any Sieg-drey entanglement, Madeley concedes that “They do get on and they do have a lot of affection for each other,” before adding, somewhat tantalisingly, “Where that will lead, you don’t know.”

Certainly, in the post-war years, the times they were a-changing. And now that Mrs Hall has settled matters with her ex-husband and with her son…

“It will be interesting to see where freedom from those concerns will now take her as a person,” Madeley muses. “And whether it will allow her to be a little bit… freer.”

Cigarettes After Sex – Anna Karenina Song Lyrics | Glamsham.com

Check out Anna Karenina Song Lyrics by Cigarettes After Sex

I never told you where I was going
I never told you what I was doing
I never told you any of my secrets, really
I never told you who I was out with sometimes
I never told you who came by
I never told you

Walking in the suicide dreams
You knew that I was all yours
You got me now, I’m, I’m all yours
But I got you and you won’t get free
You’ll never get free
There’s no place left for you to go

I cried at the end of Anna Karenina
When she threw herself undеr the train
I cried at the еnd of Anna Karenina
When she threw herself under the train

Laughing as you take your shirt off
And you take your skirt off
And you jump
Into the swimming pool
I feel the world is on fire
As you come in on top of me
And the lights are off

Inside the house
It was a deep and painful love I felt for you
It was a deep and painful love that I felt for you
And I’ll never get free
I’ll never be free

I cried at the end of Anna Karenina
When she threw herself under the train
I cried at the end of Anna Karenina
When she threw herself under the train

Anna Calvi and Perfume Genius Cover Bonnie Prince Billy’s “I See A Darkness”: Watch the Video

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Anna Calvi has enlisted Perfume Genius for a cover of the Bonnie Prince Billy classic “I See A Darkness.” The song accompanies the recent launch of Calvi’s new Substack, Carving Silver in Strange Weather, a home for unreleased songs, playlists, and writings on music. Watch the cover’s Alexander Brown–directed video, about two friends on a night out in London, below.

Calvi says in a press release, “So many songs are about romantic love. But I wanted to highlight the romance of the chosen family, the depth of connection that isn’t tethered to heteronormative ideals. It’s such a powerful song about the yearning for intimacy. I love inhabiting other people’s songs. When I sing someone else’s words, I feel like I’m getting closer to myself somehow, because the songs I choose express something I can’t articulate.”

Calvi’s recent work includes scores for the final two seasons of Peaky Blinders, released in 2023. Her last albums were 2018’s Hunter and its guest-assisted companion LP Hunted. Perfume Genius release Glory this year.
