“Are you the one they’re looking for?” “Do you think I am?” Who is who in this mystery thriller? Take a look at the official trailer for an indie suspense thriller called Death Among the Pines, latest from filmmaker / actor Nathan Shepka – who both stars in and directs this film. From the same team behind this year’s other gothic chiller The Baby in the Basket comes a new Hitchcock-inspired mystery thriller called Death Among the Pines. One night during a heavy rainstorm, a stranded stranger knocks on the door of Angela’s country cottage, claiming his car has broken down. Angela allows him in to shelter but soon a police officer arrives, asking questions, amid conducting a manhunt for an escaped criminal. Angela puts two & two together, but is there more to it than meets the eye? Starring Nathan Shepka and Nicolette McKeown as Angela, with Stephen Kerr and Olly Bassi. The trailer starts a bit slow but builds up to some real fascinating intrigue.

Olandria Carthen is making some big moves—but fans are divided over what those moves entail.
On November 6, the Love Island star caused a brief meltdown among Nicolandria fans thanks to some photos that were first posted by DeuxMoi. The 27-year-old reality star shot to stardom during the most recent season of the dating show for her beauty, charm, and rom-com-coded romance with fellow Love Island-er Nicolas Vansteenberghe.
But now, fans are not quite sure where they stand thanks to an image of Olandria holding hands with model Asher London Williams in New York City. But don’t panic just yet. Here’s what we know—and what fans are theorizing these photos really depict.
The pair—who shared a moment early on in season seven before coupling up with other contestants—went particularly viral for their ultra-romantic reunion in episode 20, when Nic full-on ran to join Olandria in a getaway car after their other relationships failed. They returned as a unit and the rest is history: They came in second place to Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales but were first in the hearts of Nicolandria fans, and Olandria has since made the near-impossible jump from niche reality star to full-on celebrity.
We at Glamour would know. On November 4, the pair attended the 2025 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York City, and you’d think Olandria was being honored based on all the attention she drew from the evening’s honorees, as well as the online fans who created their own #OlandriaxGlamourWOTY hashtag on X.com.
Though Nic and Olandria have been attending events together and hyping each other up since the Love Island finale aired on July 13, the pair are trying to avoid moving too fast based on all the hype from the show.
“I know people are expecting us to to be labeled by now,” Nic said during the reunion, which aired on August 25. “We’ve always been believers in taking our time with things and not trying to let outside pressure dictate our relationship.” At the time, he did confirm they were planning dates and taking trips together.
A frightening incident hit close to home for Damson Idris this weekend. The actor’s nephew, 17-year-old Isaiah, was reportedly slashed across the face while traveling on the train in London. The shocking incident has left the community shaken and hoping for the recovery of all those affected.
Officials say Isaiah Ishmael Idris was traveling on the Docklands Light Railway in east London when he staggered off the train, injured. He reportedly got off at Pontoon Dock station in the early hours of Saturday morning and called for help. British Transport Police confirmed the terrifying incident, saying officers responded just after midnight on November 1 following reports of a victim suffering facial injuries from a knife attack.
Isaiah’s uncle, Damson—best known for his role in the F1 drama series and ‘Snowfall’ has so far declined to comment. Additionally, Isaiah’s family is reportedly handling the situation privately, but another uncle, Habeeb Idris, confirmed the teen was among the victims.
According to reports, Isaiah was one of 11 people allegedly targeted by suspect Anthony Williams. He appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday and faces multiple attempted murder charges. The other charges relate to stabbings of LNER passengers traveling from Doncaster to London less than a day later. One of the youngest victims, Isaiah, also narrowly escaped harm, highlighting the shocking scale of the attacks that have shaken communities across East London.
Roomies, we’re sure Damson Idris has a strong support system around him. As previously reported, he was recently spotted with Lori Harvey in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Furthermore, photos of the pair lounging on the beach show Idris’s arm around her as they stroll along the sand. Other shots show them laughing and dipping into the ocean, all smiles, seemingly enjoying their time in the sun. And, igniting rumors that their romance is back on after a brief split back in 2023.
What Do You Think Roomies?
The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has unveiled its second Focus program for the 55th edition, turning the spotlight on Japan’s V-Cinema — the direct-to-video movement that exploded in the late 1980s and profoundly shaped the country’s contemporary film culture.
The section, curated by Tom Mes, will run as part of the festival’s 2026 edition from Jan. 29 to Feb. 8.
Originating with Toei’s “Crime Hunter: Bullets of Rage” (1989), V-Cinema responded to Japan’s booming home video market by producing films that bypassed theaters entirely. The low-budget, high-speed production model gave directors unprecedented creative freedom, birthing a generation of filmmakers who went on to define modern Japanese cinema — including Miike Takashi, Nakata Hideo, Kurosawa Kiyoshi and Aoyama Shinji.
IFFR’s V-Cinema Focus will showcase a range of Toei titles, among them the “Crime Hunter” trilogy — “Crime Hunter: Bullets of Rage,” “Crime Hunter 2: Bullets of Betrayal” and “Crime Hunter 3: Killing Bullet.” The lineup also features Nakata’s debut feature “Female Teacher: Forbidden Sex,” the psychological noir “Betrayal Tomorrow,” and the cult action thriller “XX Beautiful Weapon.”
The program expands beyond Toei to highlight the anarchic spirit and genre experimentation that defined the movement. Among the selections are the ghostly anthology “Scary True Stories: Second Night,” the eerie found-footage investigation “Psychic Vision: Jaganrei,” and Miike’s hyperviolent “Fudoh: The New Generation.” Other highlights include the surreal gangland fable “Tuff: Part I,” Kurosawa’s deadpan yakuza comedy “Suit Yourself or Shoot Yourself!! VI: The Hero,” Aoyama’s archetypal action drama “A Weapon in My Heart,” and “The King of Minami,” about a loan shark aiding small business owners.
“V-Cinema offered filmmakers the space to take risks, move fast and work with a freedom rarely possible within the traditional studio system,” said IFFR festival director Vanja Kaludjercic. “What emerged was a wild and inventive cinema embracing everything from anarchic yakuza tales and psycho-horror experiments to surreal hybrid pieces — work that still feels electric today.”
IFFR’s full 2026 program will be unveiled on Dec. 16.
Lauren Miller Rogen has added Issa Rae (Insecure), Dan Stevens (Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire), Zach Cherry (Severance), and Kate Berlant (Maddie’s Secret) to the cast of her sophomore feature Babies.
Miller Rogen is directing from a screenplay she also wrote for AGC Studios and Monarch Media. Anna Kendrick (Woman of the Hour) and Seth Rogen (The Studio) signed on to star earlier this year.
The film will shoot on location in Los Angeles with the support of the California Tax Credit. Producers include LYLAS Pictures’ Lauren Miller Rogen and Jen W. Ray, AGC’s Stuart Ford, and Monarch’s Steve Barnett, with AGC’s Miguel A. Palos, Jr. and Zach Garrett, Monarch’s Alan Powell and Vicky Patel, and LYLAS’ Sophie Høegh serving as Executive Producers. AGC and CAA Media Finance are co-repping worldwide rights.
The film’s synopsis reads: Struggling with the decision of whether or not to bring a child into the world, Annie (Kendrick) and her husband Aaron (Rogen) become instant co-parents when their newly-divorced friend moves into their home with her 4-year-old.
Miller Rogen’s credits include writing, directing, and producing the Netflix original film Like Father, starring Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer, and writing, starring in, and producing the indie comedy For a Good Time, Call…, which was released by Focus Features. She is also attached to direct the horror comedy Be Mine with Project X/Radio Silence for MRC and the action comedy Sky Dancers for Original Film.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach #ChaunceyBillups and Miami Heat guard #TerryRozier were arrested in connection with a federal investigation into illegal gambling. Rozier was taken into custody at an Orlando hotel after Miami’s game against the Magic; he didn’t play in the matchup due to a coach’s decision.
Billups, now in his fifth season leading Portland, was arrested in Oregon in what ABC News described as a “separate but related” illegal betting operation. Former NBA player #DamonJones was also taken into custody. It’s reported that more than 30 people were arrested as part of a yearslong investigation covering 11 states. The Eastern District of New York and FBI Director Kash Patel will hold a news conference later today to outline the allegations. The story is developing.
EXCLUSIVE: The Walt Disney Company will once again receive the documentary treatment in Chronicles of Disney, a forthcoming feature from Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou.
The film presents a “personal and intimate exploration of the legacy of the Walt Disney Company, told through the voices of the artists, artisans, and collaborators who have shaped its magic for generations.”
Contributors to the doc include Jeremy Renner, who discusses how his recovery following a near-fatal accident was inspired by his desire to complete the Disney+ series Rennervations. Other talking heads include two-time Oscar-winning costume designer Mark Bridges, Oscar–winning makeup artist Bill Corso, and Oscar nominees Donald Mowat and Camille Friend.
Also joining them are Valorie Wiggins, a veteran trailer editor, and Andy Henry, a second-generation Disney projectionist. The doc also features an original score composed by Renner and Zhou.
Yi Zhou is a filmmaker and artist. Her video works have been shown at the Shanghai Biennale, Venice Biennale, Sundance Film Festival, and Cannes Film Festival.
Chronicles of Disney is produced by Zhou’s Into the Sun Entertainment label. The movie will be released in theaters via Colors of the Sun Ventures and Moon Prism Entertainment on October 17.
The Living Legends Foundation celebrated its 32nd anniversary by bringing its annual awards gala to Atlanta for the first time Friday (Oct. 3). And among the honorees on hand were Grammy-winning songwriting/production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Otis Redding Foundation vp/executive director Karla Redding-Andrews (representing her mother, Zelma Redding), RCA Records head of promotion Samantha Selolwane, and Right On! Digital publisher Cynthia Horner.

Upon accepting the foundation’s Ray Harris Lifetime Achievement Award onstage at Atlanta’s Flourish by Legendary, Jam shared that “Ray Harris was so instrumental early in our careers with literally the first record that we did at SOLAR Records, which was ‘Wild Girls’ by Klymaxx. So to get an award from him with his name on it is absolutely amazing.”
Calling the occasion a full-circle moment, Lewis added, “We’re just two guys who like to make music. You all are the ones who made them hits.”
The foundation also awarded three other top awards. National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) president/CEO James L. Winston was presented with the Chairman’s Award by Living Legends Foundation chairman David C. Linton. Zelma Redding, widow of soul legend Otis Redding and president/founder of the Otis Redding Foundation, was the recipient of the Legacy Award, presented by Sony Music Publishing chairman/CEO Jon Platt. And Quality Control Music (Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, City Girls) COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee and CEO Pierre “P” Thomas were given the Impact Award.

For the first time, six female executive trailblazers were also saluted. Joining the aforementioned Selolwane (the Music Executive Award) and Cynthia Horner (Media Icon Award) in that circle were iHeartMedia Chicago vp of programming Kashon Powell (Jerry Boulding Radio Executive Award), nationally syndicated radio host DeDe McGuire (DeDe in the Morning; Frankie Crocker Radio Personality Award), broadcast and music industry executive Carole Carper (Mike Bernardo Female Executive Award) and West Entertainment Services CEO Louise West (Kendall Minter Entertainment Advocate Award).
In presenting the award to West, Grammy-winning artist Anthony Hamilton noted, “I’m standing here after 30 years [working with West], having complete ownership of my publishing and my work, my music — and I owe that all to you.”
Powell said of her honor, “This reward is not just a recognition of past achievements. It’s a reminder of the endless possibilities the future holds.” Horner commented during her acceptance speech, “Right On! magazine is a cultural phenomenon. And it’s my honor to not only have been the editor of the publication, but now I’m one of the owners of the same publication. It’s now Black-owned; it wasn’t before.”
Selolwane, who oversees hip-hop, R&B and mixshow promotion at RCA, described herself as “just a conduit of the art to the masses,” highlighting “the fact that we every day get a chance to spend time with some of the most creative people on this planet and really be a part of their success stories.”
