We all know Amal Clooney has elegant style. But if you study her looks as closely as we have, then you might have noticed that the secret to her timeless style actually lies in the shoes she wears. Amal Clooney’s shoes always brings that extra touch the outfit needs to become next-level sophisticated.

This styling trick is easy: Always add a personality shoe. For example, when Clooney wears a basic white dress, she adds an animal print pump that instantly makes the look more interesting. With plaid pants, she chose a two-tone black and white heel that feels unexpected and exciting. Neon sandals, meanwhile, help brighten up a neutral top and pants. Clooney’s closet is always classic, but her taste in footwear can be quite playful and fun.

The BFI London Film Festival has been humming along for the past week. There have been some good premieres, but weirdly, most of the premiere fashion has kind of sucked. This is my justification for not covering most of the premieres, my bad. But these days, you can always count on Amal Clooney to bring some showgirl glamour. Amal’s showgirl aesthetic predates Taylor Swift’s by a good eight years, in fact. In any case, here are some photos from the big Jay Kelly premiere at the BFI LFF. I’m also including photos of Noah Baumbach (the writer-director) and Greta Gerwig, who wore an incredibly unfortunate suit. Sidenote: it’s very funny to see this film making the rounds at film festivals, because it looks like the dreck that came out of a dying studio with six screenwriters. They’re seriously pushing George for Best Actor, I guess. I predict a Golden Globe nomination and nothing else.

As for Amal’s showgirl look, this is Tamara Ralph Couture. Amal surprisingly loves pinks, and while this paler pink doesn’t look bad on her, she definitely looks better in a more saturated color. I’m not crazy about the tiered skirt, but that’s not specific to this look (I just don’t like tiered skirts). I also feel sorry for tall women – they should be able to wear feathers without anyone making a Big Bird comment. But yeah, the feathers are very Big Bird. Also: Amal recently took eight inches off her hair (according to Vogue). It looks SO MUCH healthier.

Meanwhile, George recently confirmed that everyone is on board for Ocean’s 14, the fourth film in a franchise which most people forgot about. Back in the day, I liked Ocean’s 11. I remember thinking Ocean’s 12 had a terrible script, and I remember very little of Ocean’s 13. Well, George claims that Julia Roberts, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle are all on board for the fourth film, and that they have a “great” script. He also said: “We just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we’re trying to set up. It’s just scheduling, so it’s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting.” Oh, good. Brad Pitt the (credibly accused) domestic abuser, back together with George Clooney the ratf–ker.

PS… Someone pointed out that George has been wearing lifts these days and now I can’t unsee it.

In the weekend episode, Salman questioned Abhishek over his emotional outburst and roasted him for his acts in the show.

Let us tell you that during the conversation, Abhishek held Amal responsible for his acts and said it was only because of how the later treated him and provoked him. Despite the context, Salman didn’t reprimand Amal, which led to fans slamming the host for being “biased” and “unfair.” Social media is now buzzing with criticism over what many are calling a one-sided narrative.

The situation got worse after an unseen video from the Bigg Boss 19 house went viral on the internet. In the clip, Amal Malik is seen drinking directly from the pipe of the kitchen water purifier. He then fills his mouth with water and rinses it in the sink, where utensils were already placed in it. As soon as this video went viral on the internet, Amal got on the target of audience. Many users pointed out the hypocrisy of the makers, recalling how Amal previously criticized others for minor issues like not disposing of clothes properly.

With its theme “Gharwalon ki Sarkar,” Bigg Boss 19 continues to entertain with high drama, shifting alliances, and viral moments. George Clooney arrived in Venice earlier this week, where he was set to promote and premiere his new film, Jay Kelly. On Thursday, George was supposed to do the press conference and some individual interviews, but he ended up pulling out of all of it because he was feeling under the weather. They’re saying it’s a sinus infection, but I kind of wonder if he was suffering from the Don’t-Ask-Me-Political-Questions virus. His ratf–king with Jake Tapper blew up in his face, and while the international media might not care or ask, the American media might. Still, George “rallied” in time to walk the red carpet with Amal. He apparently told reporters that he can’t hear anything (convenient) and he was seen clutching his sore throat at times.

Amal looked… okay. While I love this vivid violet shade, I’ve never been into Amal’s love of mullet dresses. The train was very dramatic though, and the whole ensemble photographed very well, even if it’s a dated, button-covered disaster once you look at the details. In George and Amal’s early years, I loved her hair, and she regularly got really great blowouts back in the day. But in recent years, she’s been having a lot of bad hair days. Her hair is too long and it looks damaged and in need of some good conditioning treatments. Her colorist is also doing a terrible job! Update: I just saw the ID for Amal’s dress, it’s a vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer by Erik Mortensen. I honestly thought it was a custom Giambattista Valli.

Meanwhile, I was fully prepared to hate on this movie because of George Clooney, little did I know that my nemesis Laura Dern is also in Jay Kelly! LMAO, I hope this sh-t bombs so hard. Her bangs are trash!! (Her Armani is okay-ish although it looks unfinished.)

Riley Keough in Chloé – it looks like something she would wear.

I’ll admit it: I’ve always been a little wary of white heels. One wrong step onto grass or a light scrape against a wall and suddenly they look scuffed, tired and—dare I say it—cheap. Because of that, I’ve historically kept my distance. Still, I couldn’t deny that whenever I have spotted the style on someone else, I found myself admiring the fresh lift it brought to an outfit. In fact, no other shoe shade has quite the same ability to add instant lightness to an ensemble.

This week, Amal Clooney made the strongest case yet for divisive shoes. Arriving at the start of the Venice Film Festival, she stepped out in the very trend I’ve been debating for years: a pair of white slingbacks. Clooney styled hers with a butter yellow, calf-grazing dress, leaning into a soft and pretty palette that perfectly complemented her equally airy shoes.

Often reserved for brides, white heels, with their versatile neutral finish, prove surprisingly wearable beyond the aisle. Clooney’s look is proof, as the shoes held their own against the notoriously tricky shade of pale yellow. Beyond this pairing, this fresh shade pairs easily with classic denim, as well as black, warm browns and jewel tones.
