Xolo Maridueña will portray Portgas D. Ace in Season 3 of Netflix’s One Piece

One Piece has recruited Xolo Maridueña to play Portgas D. Ace in Season 3, Netflix announced on Wednesday. The 24-year-old is best known for his roles in Blue Beetle (2023) and Cobra Kai. The live-action series, which was greenlit for a third season in August, is based on the popular manga series of the same name. Written by Eiichiro Oda, its first issue came out in 1997. Netflix’s One Piece live-action resumes production for Season 3 later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, the streaming giant said on Tudum. Meanwhile, the premiere date for Season 2 is set for March 10.

It follows protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, “on his quest to find the legendary fabled treasure, the One Piece, and become King of the Pirates,” according to the official logline.

Maridueña is among the latest cast members to join the show. The show recently announced that Broadway star Cole Escola will star as theatrical assassin Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3.

The Smurfs actor has worked with Netflix before, starring as Miguel Diaz in all six seasons of Cobra Kai, which is based on the Karate Kid franchise. During Geeked Week 2024, he served as a special correspondent alongside co-star Jacob Bertrand.

In Season 2, “Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies,” per the official logline.

The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Rob Dyrdek has gone from skate-park phenom to entertainment mogul, and in 2025 his financial status reflects that rise. The former professional skateboarder turned reality-TV star built his fortune through shows like Rob & Big and Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, but his most-notable long-run came with Ridiculousness, which recently wrapped after 46 seasons.

Learn more about Rob’s career, salary, and business empire below.

Why Was Ridiculousness Cancelled?

MTV officially canceled Ridiculousness after an incredible 46 seasons and nearly 1,700 episodes. The decision wasn’t due to poor ratings — in fact, the show remained one of the network’s most-watched programs — but rather part of a larger programming shift under Paramount Global. After the company’s merger with Skydance Media, MTV announced plans to refocus its lineup on new formats and “fresh creative voices,” signaling the end of Dyrdek’s long-running clip series.

According to TMZ, the decision was relayed to the cast and crew when the current season was declared the show’s last. Existing episodes will continue airing through 2026, but no new ones will be produced.

How Much Did Rob Dyrdek Make Per Episode of Ridiculousness?

Dyrdek made a significant fortune during his Ridiculousness run. Bankruptcy filings and a report from Bloomberg revealed that Dyrdek earned at least $32.5 million per year from “Ridiculousness.” Breaking down the per‐episode take: the on-camera fee was around $61,000 per episode, and the producer fee was approximately $21,000 per episode—with some future potential contracts estimating as high as $101,000 per episode.

Between hosting, producing, and licensing deals, Dyrdek has cemented his status as one of the network’s highest-paid stars.

What Is Rob Dyrdek’s Net Worth?

As of 2025, Dyrdek’s net worth is estimated to be around $200 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

How Did Rob Dyrdek Get Rich?

Dyrdek first made a name for himself as a professional skateboarder, securing major sponsorships and building his early fortune through endorsements. He later transitioned into television, starring in MTV hits like Rob & Big and Fantasy Factory before launching Ridiculousness, which became a cultural staple. Behind the scenes, Dyrdek’s production company, Superjacket Productions, produced several of his shows — giving him ownership stakes that multiplied his earnings. Beyond TV, he founded Dyrdek Machine, a venture creation studio that invests in startups and consumer brands, further expanding his empire.

Bauhaus Alum Daniel Ash’s New Project Is Modern Art

by jummy84 October 28, 2025
written by jummy84

“‘Danny, we need a gimmick. Wear a gas mask.’”

Daniel Ash is recalling his first paid gig as a young musician with a band called MI5. It was at Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club in Corby, an industrial town in Northamptonshire, where Ash is from, nearly two hours from London. Aside from its (obvious) Scottish pride, Corby was, according to Ash, also known for its violence, most apparent when they take the small stage—and the audience starts throwing bottles at them. They ran off after only a few minutes, confronted by their promoter, who’d been “piss drunk” since about 3:00 that afternoon.

“He said, ‘What are you doing? Get back out there.’ We said, ‘They hate us, they’re throwing glasses!’ ‘No. When they throw glasses and bottles, that means they love you. When they don’t like you, they jump the stage and beat you up.’ Good thing he wasn’t wearing the gas mask, and instead opted for a “really white” boiler suit. The other guys, in case you were wondering, were “dressed in totally normal clothing, doing their soul thing.” They played together for about a year, Ash, by his own classification, the “weirdo” in the group.

“I even had a funny haircut back then,” he adds.

I don’t ask and I hadn’t planned to, but he immediately declares he doesn’t want to talk about Bauhaus origins and his well-documented child/teen-hood friends and band members Peter Murphy, David J, and Kevin Haskins. “I’m not going to tell that story again,” he says, launching, unprovoked, into the story. “I knew Peter from 10 years old and hadn’t seen him for five years,” he recalls, of the day he decided to reconnect with Murphy and, shortly thereafter, form a band, Ash as the guitarist. “Then just on the spur of the moment, I just thought, I’m going to drive to Wellingborough, which was 10 miles away. I’m going to drive there and just knock on his door. Neither of us had phones back then, I don’t think. Knocked on his door, and then—boom, boom, boom—and everything started off.”

Bauhaus debut, 1980’s In the Flat Field, shot the band immediately into legend status, widely regarded as trailblazing the goth genre. This launched Ash into a nonstop creative cycle, with and without bassist David J and drummer Kevin Haskins: Tones on Tail, Love and Rockets, Poptone, a series of solo albums. Most recently, he’s formed Ashes and Diamonds with drummer Bruce Smith (Public Image Ltd.) and bassist Paul Spencer Denman (Sade, Sweetback). Their debut album Ashes and Diamonds Are Forever (releasing October 31) continues Ash’s ongoing legacy of creating sexy art-school soundtracks; its 12 songs—undeniably cinematic, provocative, and powerful—sculpt an unexpected story and create one of the best albums of the year.

“On a Rocka,” the album’s lead single, features a video directed by Jake Scott (Ridley Scott’s son), compiled footage from a full day-to-evening shoot of Ash riding a motorcycle in and around Joshua Tree. “It was a really fun day because I’m on a bike. What’s better than that, in my element? If you told me when I was 16 years old that I’d be living in Southern California with a load of bikes and being able to ride every day, I would never have believed you. It’s a dream come true times 10. Yes, it’s great. Having a variety of bikes is fantastic.” He says he has 25 bikes on the road, one to commemorate every tour. “I take a different one out every day,” he says. “There was actually a quote from Steve McQueen. He said, ‘I’d rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than any city on earth.’ I’m pretty much the same.”

(Bruce Smith, Daniel Ash, and Paul Spencer. Photo courtesy of Ashes and Diamonds.)

His love of riding started at 12, stealing his father’s Lambretta scooter. After getting his license at 16, he got his own bike, a 42 pound (as in English dollars) Triumph with no wheels. “I got it from a farmer,” he says. “Then I took it home and got some wheels and built it. The first bike I ever got was a little 250 BSA. Then I went from that real quick to a 500 Triumph Twin, and then never looked back. My brother, he was a mod in the ’60s, and he was like Sting in Quadrophenia. He was the king mod. I’ve said this story before, but it is true. Girls used to pay him to be on the back of his bike going through town center on a Friday and Saturday night. Just to be seen with him on the back of the bike. That’s how popular he was. He had the bike, just like in Quadrophenia. He had one of those bikes with all the mirrors on it, and the fur things on the back, and this and that, full on like a Christmas tree going down the street. His best friend was a rocker who had a BSA 650. He took me on the back of that. As soon as I got on the bike, no way was I going to be fucking around with scooters. It was all about motorcycles because the power of motorcycles is through the roof in comparison with any scooter. I leaned towards the motorcycle thing, not the scooter thing.”

(Credit: Regan Catam)

“Actually, this is going to sound really goth…” he says. “I love visiting graveyards. Doesn’t get much more goth than that, does it, thinking about it? In the graveyard, I’d look at all the ages of what people died. I was fascinated by how long people lived. Back then, there was a lot of infant deaths, but there was also a lot of people that lived to ripe old ages. Going back to the 18th, 17th, and 16th centuries.

“There are some of these tombstones that go back to the 13th century in England. They’re all crooked. A lot of them, you can’t see any writing on them. They’re covered in moss. I still do that all the time because on a bike, you always find stuff that you would never usually find when you go for a wander. Yes, that was one of my favorite things to do… I must be a goth after all,” he says, with a laugh.

“I’m joking. Of course I’m not a goth. I love sunshine and riding on bikes in the daylight. Goths don’t do that.” The airborne vibrations of this statement no doubt shattering thorny goth hearts throughout the globe.

If we look at Bauhaus as the start of Ash’s career (let’s leave MI5 out of this for now), we can easily trace Ash’s evolution from dark-aesthetic subculture pioneer, to new wave pop chart-topper (Love and Rockets), traveling through other uncompromising peaks and valleys to arrive here, at Ashes and Diamonds, a genre-defying blend of Ash’s entire career, mixed with modern, high-tech, heavy beats, fit for a club or an action thriller. (Don’t worry, he’s still taking us to dimly-lit places.)

The Ashes and Diamonds trio officially came together seven years ago when East Coast-based Smith and Denman, who’s often in the U.K., were finally all in the studio together. Their careful collaboration slowed, like so many, when the pandemic hit in 2020. Even after the album was recorded, Ash says at the 11th hour they went into a Hollywood studio to rerecord everything in just 10 days. “It was a very expensive mistake to think we had the album finished, but it just wasn’t good enough,” Ash says. “Tweak it and tweak it and tweak it—because now it’s fully realized. There’s no filler tracks, there’s no cover versions of anything. The production is like we’re all 100% on it now. We had that breathing space to really get it right.”

Ash says he used “the cut-up idea,” popularized by William S. Burroughs, to write nearly all of the lyrics on Ashes and Diamonds Are Forever. “I remember when I was a kid, I saw it on the TV,” he recalls. “I use trashy magazines because they have the most juicy headlines, like the National Enquirer and stuff like that, and People magazine and all the gossip mags because you get terrific headlines.

“Then I just cut them all. I cut all these headlines up. Put them on the kitchen table. Listen to the backing track, bass drums, and then I start joining the sentences together. Then hopefully, if I’m lucky, by the end of the afternoon or evening, I’ve got a song out of it. All of these songs and all the titles came from cut-ups from trashy magazines.”

This conversation started when I’d noted my affinity for the album’s ninth track, “Setting Yourself Up for Love,” a song I’d referred to as a vampire love song. “‘Setting Yourself Up for Love’ must have been something that I’d seen as a title, or it could have been two sentences, ‘setting yourself,’ and then the word ‘love,’ and I join them together. That’s the whole cut-up thing.

“What’s great about it is it sets you free because you don’t have to work and sit there and think, how do I feel about whatever? This thing takes over. Your subconscious takes over, and you’re just having fun putting words together. It’s such a great way to create lyrics. 98% of this album, most of the other stuff I’ve done as well in the past is like that. Again, I don’t know what I’m going to write about when I very first sit down and have the track in my head. I don’t know. I just look at words. Oh, I like that headline. I like this. I like that. Put them on the kitchen table, and then I start mixing them up. Then suddenly, it’ll start working. Then I’ll have a whole song.

“It wouldn’t have been about something that I would have even wanted to sing about initially, but it creates itself because of the cut-up idea. That would have been the case with that track.” The ambiguity, the individual interpretations, he loves it. “Go wherever you want to with it,” he says.

It’s no surprise that Ash started out as a visual artist, doing an extra year at art school because he loved it so much. “They couldn’t get me out of there,” he says. “I loved the solitude of being on my own. When everybody had left at 5:00 or 6:00, I’d be there until 10:00 p.m. with my little record player, playing records and doing my own work there. They used to have to kick me out every night. I was totally at home at art school.”

He majored in industrial design. “What that actually meant was you could do whatever the fuck you wanted all day long,” he says. “It was perfect. It was very loose back then. This is back in the ’70s. Industrial design basically meant you can work in plaster, oil colors, gouache, water colors, anything you wanted to. It was very, very free and easy. Yes, I absolutely loved it.”

That’s where he met Kevin Haskins and David J; Tones on Tail bassist Glenn Campling also went to art school.

“I went for a job at the Weetabix factory,” he says, recalling making the top 10 of applicants for a job to design Weetabix cereal cartons “for the rest of [his] life.” At the second interview, he was terrified he might actually be offered the position. Luckily, his fashion sense blew the opportunity for him. “The guys that were interviewing me knew my older brother because he went to art school as well. They said, ‘Your brother’s eccentric.’ He says, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘He came to the interview in a black velvet suit, and he had earrings on.’ That was outrageous to them. I wasn’t going to be fitting in doing the yogurt cartons. I remember after I went away, they said to me, ‘We’re so sorry, but you haven’t got the job.’ I said, ‘Oh, thank you so much.’ I drove out of there in my $50 car, my old Ford Cortina. I could see the Weetabix sign. I’ll always remember it getting smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, and me going, ‘Oh, that’s it. That’s it. I can tell Dad now, ‘well, I tried, didn’t get the job.’ That’s it.’ It’s funny because the next couple of years, I think I ended up pumping gas at a gas station until what happened, happened.”

“Married to Medicine” Alum Lateasha Lunceford Weighs In On “RHOP” Star Wendy Osefo’s Arrest & Fraud Charges: These Bravo Characters, They re Not Really Living That Lifestyle’

#WendyOsefo seems to be the topic of discussion among Bravo ladies, both current and former.

During a recent livestream, Married to Medicine alum Lateasha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford addressed allegations that she made shady remarks about Wendy following news of the political commentator’s arrest. If you’ve been keeping up with #TJB posts, you know that Wendy and her husband, #EddieOsefo, face nearly 20 charges each for an alleged insurance fraud scheme.

Speaking on the matter, Sweet Tea said she wouldn’t call this “vindication” for Nneka Ihim, who feuded with Wendy during her brief run as a #Housewife, but noted that “people have to be careful when they boast and brag about what they have.” She continued, saying a lot of #Bravo stars are “not really living that lifestyle.”

Sweet Tea added that she kept her real job while filming #M2M and was unbothered by criticism concerning her living situation because she’s “winning” and “has no bills to pay.”

Do you agree with #LateashaLunceford?

Mark Sanchez and Perry Mattfeld found their happily ever after in each other. The husband and wife make quite the dynamic duo in the entertainment and sports worlds, with Mark being an ex-NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports broadcaster and Perry being an actress, known for her roles in Shameless, The Idea of You, Chad Powers and more.

The spouses have been married since 2023 and have enjoyed a blissful marriage so far. However, they hit a bump along the road in October 2025 when Mark was arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and faced three misdemeanor charges in relation to an incident when he was stabbed and hospitalized. Fox Sports released a statement about the ordeal

“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support,” the network’s statement read. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

Neither Mark nor his wife, Perry, has publicly spoken out about his arrest and legal trouble at the time of publication, but Mark’s brother, Nick Sanchez Jr., called the situation a “distressing time” for the family, per People.

Below, Hollywood Life has rounded up a few facts so you can get to know Perry and her marriage to Mark.

Perry Mattfeld Is of Mexican Descent Like Mark Sanchez

During a June 2023 interview with People after their wedding, Perry described how she and Mark incorporated their heritage into their ceremony and reception.

“We are both of Mexican descent, and we loved the idea of celebrating there [in Oaxaca, Mexico],” Perry gushed. “We visited Oaxaca a few years ago and fell in love, so we knew it was the perfect location for us. We also liked the idea of giving our friends and family a reason to visit Oaxaca!”

Perry Mattfeld Loves to Travel

Perry and Mark had a destination wedding and subsequent honeymoon! After exchanging vows in Mexico, the then-newlyweds headed to East Africa.

“We love to travel to new places together,” Perry told People. “It’s always an adventure. We are so lucky because our careers have taken us to many cities across the world, but we both have never been on a trip like this.”

Does Mark Sanchez Have Children With His Wife?

Yes, Perry gave birth to her and Mark’s twin daughters in March 2025. Mark also has a son named Daniel from a previous relationship, and Daniel was on double duty for his father and stepmom’s wedding. He was both a groomsmen and the ring bearer.

“He got a standing ovation as he brought our rings down the aisle, and then took his place next to Mark during the ceremony,” Perry told People after she and Mark wed. “It was so special to be able to read our vows with him beside us.”

Mark also gushed that “emotional” was a “massive understatement,” adding that seeing his son “hit [him] at once like a mack truck, and after that, [he] couldn’t turn off the tears! Tears of joy, love and gratitude for getting such an incredible life partner.”

Perry Mattfeld Is an Actress

Perry has been in show business since childhood. After getting her start as a ballet dancer at the age of 5, she worked with Mattel as part of its American Girl Dolls theatre troupe by the time she was 12. She later attended the University of Southern California, where she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting in 2016. Since then, Perry has steadily landed on-screen roles, including in the series In the Dark and Shameless, then in the 2025 Hulu show Chad Powers.

Perry Mattfeld Is a Former USC Cheerleader

Perry was a cheerleader in high school and in college for the USC Trojans. It was there where she met her future husband, a fellow USC graduate.

Who Is Gina Carano? 5 Things About ‘Mandalorian’ Alum & Disney Lawsuit – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 20, 2025
written by jummy84

The Mandalorian alum Gina Carano was dropped by Lucasfilm and Disney in 2021 after sharing controversial posts on social media comparing the treatment of American conservatives to Jewish people in Nazi Germany. Nearly four years later, Gina, Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company settled their lawsuit in August 2025. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but Lucasfilm released a statement on the matter.

“Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect,” Lucasfilm’s statement read, per the Associated Press. “With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.”

Four years prior, Gina shared a number of controversial social media posts. In one TikTok video, she compared the state of U.S. politics to Nazi Germany. “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” she wrote in a since-deleted video. In a separate post, Gina claimed that “history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

At the time, Lucasfilm released a statement about the actress’ release from the Star Wars show. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” a statement from the studio issued to Variety read.

During a March 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gina opened up for the first time about her reaction to getting fired from her Disney+ series.

“I just laid down and cried and cried,” she recalled. “I curled into a fetal position. It’s not that I didn’t think that something like that could happen. It was that I couldn’t imagine they would put out this horrendous statement about me after working with me — the most powerful entertainment company in the world saying that about me.”

Gina also pointed out that she became “unhirable” in Hollywood following her firing. “And then it becomes OK for other people to disrespect you,” she said. “And then you’re just carrying around this disrespect, and you’re shouldering all this shame, and it affects your physicality, your mentality. You’re just kind of hopeless.”

Learn more about The Mandalorian alum below.

Gina Carano Starred in ‘The Mandalorian’

Gina played trusty sidekick and fellow bounty hunter Cara Dune in the Star Wars live-action series. Hailing from planet Alderaan, she has a unique arm tattoo that indicates she served as a shock trooper during the Galactic Civil War, as part of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the New Republic. Cara is along for the ride with Pedro Pascal‘s “Mando” as the two attempt to protect child prodigy Grogu (a.k.a. “Baby Yoda”).

The casting came after she nearly quit Hollywood. “[Writer] Jon [Favreau] kind of just plucked me out of the desert and put me in this beautiful tropical place. And yeah, it’s hard work — sometimes 18 hour days — but I don’t care how hard this work is. I just absolutely love going to work; it gives me so much purpose,” she said of the gig to Refinery 29, confessing she wasn’t a big Star Wars fan before but is “100% in” now.

Gina Carano Appeared in ‘Deadpool’

Marvel fans may also recognize Gina as Angel Dust from Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool movies. Gina’s Angel Dust is pivotal in transforming Deadpool — née Wade Wilson — into a mutant with the intention of making him an assassin. In the first film, the pair confront each other during an epic battle. “My character is big, strong, and silent. She’s not got a lot to say. But I’m so happy to be a part of it,” she said of the role back in 2016 to Screen Rant. “I never knew anything about him before, but it’s been really nice to be a part of a film in such a big level to see something good happen to Ryan, because he’s genuinely one of the nicest actors I’ve ever met,” she added.

Gina Carano Was an MMA Fighter

Before getting into acting, Gina was a skilled athlete, competing in the MMA. In one of her most iconic fights, she took on Cris Cyborg in 2009 for Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg. The historic moment marked the first time two women headlined a major MMA fight, and at the time, it broke ratings records. Gina also competed in EliteXS.

Gina Carano Is From Texas

Gina was born on April 16, 1982 in Dallas, Texas. She is the daughter of Dana Joy and former NFL player Glenn Carano, who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1977 – 1983. Dana and Glenn are also parents to her two sisters, Kasey and Christi. Gina later moved to Las Vegas, NV with her family and graduated high school there.

Gina Carano Is Dating a Fellow Athlete

Gina found second chance love with Kevin Ross nearly 10 years after they first got together. Kevin, who is an American Muay Thai kickboxer and former mixed martial artist, confirmed their relationship publicly in 2015. “We’ve kept things under wraps as to not want to invite the entire world into our relationship, although I think it’s been pretty evident that we are back together,” he wrote. “For those of you that don’t know we dated for 4 years, were broken up for a decade then got back together on the 14th anniversary of the day we met…You are my inspiration, my best friend, my everything!!!” he added.

Previously, Gina dated Gina Carano Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill from 2012 to 2014.

‘RHOP’ Alum Robyn Dixon Seemingly Responds To K. Michelle Calling Her A Jobless ‘Couch Potato’

#RobynDixon is unbothered by the shade that recently came from K. Michelle.

Appearing to respond to #KMichelle’s remarks about her employment status after reportedly being let go from #RHOP following Season 8, Robyn shared a smiling selfie from her sofa with the caption: “Still selling satin-lined baseball hats from my couch. I love it here!!!”

This comes after K. Michelle slammed Robyn for comments she made about the singer allegedly joining #RHOA. The #LHH alum wrote: “Why be so worried about me and my overly educated and successful self, and what I might be doing??? Robyn, you ran out of a job a longggggg time ago. You would love to be recycled you little Couch potato, just yappin.”

In a follow-up comment, she added: “I’ma round here selling out shows and you selling baseball hats but you worried about me and what I might be doing. The nerve of this couch potato.”

Chile! Was Robyn being shady with her initial comments, or is this just one big misunderstanding?
