A statement from the Greater Manchester Police read: “Officers were called by a member of the public to attend [a residence in] Tameside, at 6:45am today where they found the body of a 46-year-old man. There are not currently believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”

Hatton, known as The Hitman, competed between 1997 and 2012, and has since worked as a boxing promoter and trainer.

During his 15-year career, he won 45 of his 48 professional bouts, defeating giants including Kostya Tszyu and Jose Luis Castillo. In 2007, he was awarded an MBE for services to sport.

He last fought professionally in 2012, suffering a defeat to Vyacheslav Senchenko.

In 2023, a documentary about Hatton’s life, which followed his upbringing in Manchester, his incredible boxing career, and his personal life, was released by Sky.

Last year, Hatton appeared on Dancing on Ice, being partnered with professional skater Robin Johnstone.

Earlier this year, Hatton announced a comeback fight against Eisa Aldah, which was due to happen on 2nd December in Dubai.

Baroness’ founding drummer Allen Blickle has died, aged 42

Baroness have confirmed the death of founding drummer Allen Blickle, aged 42.
“It breaks my heart to have to share the news that my dear friend, creative partner and former bandmate Allen Blickle passed away a few days ago,” Baroness frontman John Dyer Baizley wrote in a statement on social media.

“I’m still in shock that he’s gone. We ask for understanding as his family and this band process his passing and grieve his loss. Allen, I love you and miss you. I treasure every moment we shared.”

Baizley’s confirmation comes a day after rumours began circulating of Allen Blickle’s death. While a cause of death has yet to be made public, Laura Pleasants of the band Kylesa wrote on Monday, suggesting that Blickle was ill: “I was so heartbroken… finding out how the past month was. I am just gutted, dude. We all thought you had this thing beat. Fuck, we were supposed to hang out when i got back from tour…  Gone too soon my friend. I’m glad you are at peace and no longer in pain.”

Blickle formed Baroness in 2003 alongside vocalist/guitarist Baizley, bassist Summer Welch, and guitarist Tim Loose. Loose left the band in 2003, and was replaced by Blickle’s brother Brian, who was later replaced by Pete Adams in 2008.

Allen Blickle featured on the band’s acclaimed first three albums: 2007’s ‘Red’, 2009’s ‘Blue’ and 2012’s ‘Yellow & Green’. In 2013, the band were involved in a bus crash while out on tour, resulting in the vehicle falling over 30 feet. The crash resulted in Allen Blickle and then-bassist Matt Maggioni fracturing their vertebrae and leaving the band the following year.

Reflecting on the accident and his recovery to The Fader in 2013, Blickle said his brush with death forced him to re-evaluate his life and revealed that his relationship with his former bandmates strained after his departure: “After the accident, there was space put between us that I regret to say was mostly my fault. I was in some way pushing myself in another direction. I didn’t know how to handle the horrible situation we all went through, but who does?

“It’s not easy and continues to be somewhat difficult. I do miss playing with them and I have relayed to them that when the time is right, I would like to be on the road again. It’s not up to me at this point. I just don’t want any resentment to build between any of us. We are old friends and have worked really hard together for years. Friends first — that’s the most important thing to remember.”

Following his departure from Baroness, Blickle would drum for Romantic Dividends, A Place to Bury Strangers and Alpaca. Most recently, he worked in TV and film as a composter and sound design artist. Some of his biggest works include Netflix’s 2020 series We Are The Champions.

Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness.

Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness

The Indigenous star, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1991, passed away on Monday (01.09.25) in a Toronto hospital, his representative confirmed.

Graham, born on 22 June 1952, had enjoyed a decades-long career across film, television and stage, often praised for breaking barriers for Indigenous actors in Hollywood.

His representative told Deadline: “He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed.”

He added: “You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,” referencing Greene’s longtime agent, who died in 2013.

Graham, who was of Oneida First Nation and Canadian descent, grew up on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario.

Before turning to acting, he worked as a welder, draftsman and steelworker.

His television debut came in 1979 with a part in The Great Detective, and his first film role followed in 1983’s Running Brave.

Graham’s career breakthrough arrived in 1990 with Kevin Costner’s epic Dances With Wolves, in which his portrayal of the Sioux medicine man Kicking Bird earned him an Academy Award nomination.

In a past interview with CineMoovie, the actor recalled the challenges of filming, including being thrown from a horse during production.

He said: “I wanted to get payback on the animal rather than take a break from filming.”

Graham also spoke about the difficulty of learning Lakota for the part, saying: “I couldn’t figure out how they ordered their language. Its structure is totally foreign to English or French.”

The star went on to appear in a wide range of roles, from comedy— – such as his recurring part in The Red Green Show – to dramas including The Green Mile (1999), in which he played Arlen Bitterbuck opposite Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Other credits included roles in Maverick (1994), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Transamerica (2005), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game (2017).

More recently, he appeared in Tulsa King alongside Sylvester Stallone and in HBO’s The Last of Us.

Graham’s accolades included a Grammy, a Gemini and a Canadian Screen Award, as well as a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.

Earlier this year, he was honoured with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in Canada.

He also has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

One of his final screen appearances was in FX’s Reservation Dogs, a series that continued his legacy of championing Indigenous storytelling.

His last completed project is the upcoming thriller Ice Fall, starring Joel Kinnaman, which is scheduled for release on 16 October.

Graham married Hilary Blackmore in 1990.

He is survived by Hilary, their daughter Lilly Lazare-Greene, and his grandson Tarlo.

Following news of his death, tributes poured in on social media, with floods of his fans saying he would be missed forever.
