8-Year-Old Passes Away After Collapse Accident

A Missouri family is grieving their 8-year-old just weeks before what would have been his ninth birthday. Cortez Williams Jr., lovingly known as CJ, passed away within hours of a children’s swing set collapsing on him. The death shocked his loved ones, mainly because CJ didn’t have much external injury when they first freed him from the playset. He would’ve turned nine years old in October 2025.

More Details About The Swing Set Incident

The St. Louis County Police Department released a report on September 22 about what happened to CJ. It cited the date and time of the swing set accident as the day before, around 6 p.m. Officers from the city’s North County Precinct responded to a call for sick service. When they arrived at the home on the
11300 block of Larimore Road, Cortez Williams Jr. was found unresponsive.

During their initial investigation, officers learned 8-year-old CJ was “playing on a backyard swing set when it collapsed,” per the press release. After the set collapsed, it trapped Williams Jr. under a crossbar. Family members ultimately freed the child, who reportedly “only appeared to have minor injuries. Later, CJ became unresponsive. After being transported to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead.

His cause of death will be determined after an autopsy. However, the local Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is already investigating the death as accidental. Last week, CJ’s loved ones were reportedly arranging his homegoing service.

Father Of Cortez Williams Jr. Speaks Out

WUSA9 also caught up with Cortez Williams Sr., who gave an emotional interview about losing his son during what was supposed to be a chill Sunday afternoon. The father told the outlet he had dropped his 8-year-old off at his mother’s house that morning. Then, several hours later, he got the shocking FaceTime call from his daughter. On it, she was allegedly crying and saying CJ wasn’t responsive. At the time, Williams Sr. said the only thing going through his mind was returning to his son, given that he was out of town for work.

After other family members freed CJ, his dad said he didn’t show any apparent signs of injury, such as bleeding. He had “a little scratch on his stomach,” but that was about it. His behavior appeared normal, aside from expressing sleepiness.

“They said he was talking, responding, asking for water and something to eat,” Williams Sr. said. “The only thing he kept saying was that he wanted to go to sleep.”

While CJ napped, his mother made him something to eat, per Williams Sr. About an hour after that, things worsened, the dad said. When he woke up and walked around, he collapsed. Still, he had no external injuries and kept asking for water and something to eat. “…So they gave him some water, and she was finished cooking the food, and they said he was quiet for a while,” his father told WUSA9. “Next thing you know, they said he wasn’t responding anymore.”

Dad Shares Message About Kids & Minor Injuries

During his interview, Cortez Williams Sr. made it a point to share an important message with other parents. He warned them to take their children to the hospital for “any little thing” that happens.

“The risk of not taking them is…you see the pain I’m in, it’s a bad risk, I don’t want anyone to have to go through this. I’m trying my best, but it’s hard,” CJ’s dad said.

Sadly, Williams Sr. didn’t make it home in time to see his son alive again. “It’s pain that’ll never go away,” the father told WUSA9. “Because of his age… it’s just something that’ll never leave.” The dad remembers his 8-year-old as a joyful kid who loved scary movies and food. He was looking forward to starting soccer.

Like Williams Sr., the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has also issued warnings about home playground equipment, such as swing sets. The agency reports that about 50,000 kids go to the ER for related injuries every year. Most of the injuries are reportedly falls. However, in some cases, kids have died when equipment tips over or breaks, trapping a child(ren).

The Putman family is in mourning.

Isabella Putman, whose family of 26 all lived under one roof in the 2017 TLC series Meet the Putmans, announced that three members of the family—Bill “Papa” Putman, Neenee Putman and Megan Putman—died in a car crash.

“I come to you with a heavy heart asking for your prayers,” Isabelle wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Sept. 27. “Our family was in a tragic car accident and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan. They have gone home to be with the Lord.”

The reality TV alum also revealed that five other family members sustained injuries in the crash and are still recovering.

“Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital,” Isabelle continued. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”

Amid their grief, Isabelle reflected on how the entire family—who later chronicled their lives together in their Growing Up Putman spinoff series on YouTube—is leaning on their faith in God.

The Putmans, the family made famous on the TLC reality show Meet the Putmans, asked for prayers in an Instagram post on Sunday as they announced that three members of the family had died in a car crash and several others were in the hospital.

“Our family was in a tragic car accident, and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan,” Isabelle, a member of the family, wrote in a letter shared on the @growingupputman Instagram account. “They have gone home to be with the Lord.”

TMZ reports Papa and Neenee were nicknames for Bill and Barb Putman, the heads of the family.

Five other members of the family were injured, Isabelle said. “Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital,” Isabelle wrote. “We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”

The crash happened Friday in Ellington Township, Michigan, as the driver of a semi truck failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a Jeep with the eight Putmans inside, according to WNEM. As the five injured Putmans were taken to the hospital via ambulance — with some in critical condition — the driver of the semi was arrested, according to the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office.

In their time of heartbreak, the surviving family members — including Billy, Jen, Brandon, Kacie, Jamie, Blair, Abby, Emma, Addison, Bella, Mercy, Gabby, Mya, Nova, Jonah, Eli, Solomon, Uriah, Samson, Luke, and Anna — are relying on their faith, Isabelle said.

“We ask for your continued prayers for Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia as they recover, and for our whole family as we walk through this deep loss,” Isabelle added.

TLC’s Meet the Putmans aired its only season in 2017. The show followed Bill and Barb, who’d been married for 32 years at the time, as they lived with their children and grandchildren.

“This 25-person family lives under one roof, shares one bathroom, pools all of their finances, and helps raise all of the kids as one family unit,” TLC said in a press release. “Each episode will not only detail the little things that test this large household, but also highlight those extreme ‘for better or worse’ moments they experience as both couples and a family.”

Following the TLC show, the Putmans returned in a 2021 web series titled Growing Up Putman, People reports.

Drew stressed her daughter was “fine” now but explained she had “ripped her whole elbow open” while biking in the mountains.

She added: “We spent days in an E.R., in and out.”

The Charlie’s Angels actress praised her daughter for her quick-thinking following the accident.

She said: “She ripped off her bra and turned it into a tourniquet.

“That’s just who she is. And I just marvel at her.”

Drew recently noted how she has become much less “selfish” since becoming a parent and she “prefers” the person she is today.

Responding to a fan who asked how long it took to readjust back to being herself after having a baby, she wrote in a piece of UsWeekly: “I’m still not myself. As mentioned, the news of Lil Woody’s accident came as videos hit the internet late Sunday night. The graphic videos show the rapper bloodied and lying motionless in the street in front of witnesses. Footage also shows a wrecked dirt bike or small motorcycle near Woody. Fox 5 Atlanta has revealed Peters Street in Atlanta as the location of the incident. At this time, it appears it was a self-inflicted wreck.

Woody & His Agent Speak Out 

Rumors quickly circulated that Lil Woody had died. However, a video from him in the hospital and an Instagram Story post from his manager showed otherwise. The manager, Barry White, shared a clip of Woody and him sitting in a car, laughing while talking about the rapper pivoting to being a passenger prince.

“Maybach Conversations, YOU’RE OFFICIALLY A PASSENGER. I’M GLAD YOU’RE OKAY,” White wrote in the caption. It’s unclear if the video was taken before or after the incident.

Meanwhile, Lil Woody settled any doubts about his recovery by sharing a video on social media praising God. He said the Lord protects those who do his work. “No matter what goes on, pray and ask for forgiveness. God gon protect you at all costs. Even in a time of pain,” the rapper said in the hospital clip. The footage shows Lil Woody with road rash on his left cheek, under-eye, and shoulder area. He was also wearing a neck brace. A photo on his IG Story shows more bloody road rash on the side of his head.

On Monday, he shared another selfie video on his Instagram Story. In it, he wore a hospital gown, face mask and bandages on his face and head. He also appeared to have a bruised and swollen eye. He thanked the outpour of concern and support. A follow-up written post said, “Whoever took me to the hospital. Thank you I owe you.”

Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized After Car Accident

Rudy Guiliani is recovering from a terrifying car crash.

The former New York City mayor was hospitalized after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on the evening of Aug. 20 in New Hampshire, during which he was allegedly hit from behind on the highway after stopping to help a victim of domestic violence.

“Prior to the incident, he was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident,” Giuliani’s head of security Michael Ragusa wrote in a statement shared to Instagram Aug. 31. “Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911.”

“He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” the statement continued. “Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at a high speed.”

The 81-year-old was then, according to the statement, transported to a nearby trauma center and diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg.

The 81-year-old was helping a domestic violence victim, according to his representative, and a vehicle subsequently hit him from behind. Colleagues, peers and supporters of Giuliani naturally wondered how he was recovering and what happened to him.

What Happened to Rudy Giuliani? How Car Accident Occurred

On August 30, 2025, Giuliani was hit by a vehicle from behind after assisting a victim of domestic violence in New Hampshire, his spokesperson and head of security, Michael Ragusa, announced.

“Prior to the incident, [Giuliani] was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident,” Ragusa explained in his public statement. “Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911. He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety. Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed.”

Ragusa added that the Republican “was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg” as a result of the accident.

At the time of publication, it’s unclear who struck Giuliani on the road. However, Ragusa insisted in a separate tweet that this was “not a targeted attack.”

Giuliani was “recovering tremendously” and was in “good spirits” after sustaining injuries, Ragusa tweeted on August 31, 2025.

Aside from his 2025 car accident injuries, Giuliani experienced a previous health scare. In April 2000, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was 55 at the time and made a full recovery.

To combat the cancer, Giuliani opted to get radioactive seeds implanted in the prostate, then he underwent double radiation instead of undergoing surgery, per NBC News.

While she reassured fans that Tamar’s smile can be restored, she noted the recovery will require multiple dental procedures. She also offered advice for what others should do if they ever face a similar emergency.

Dr. Amira added that while the exact cause of the fall is still uncertain, she and other medical professionals believe it may have been due to sleepwalking after ruling out other conditions like stroke and seizure.

Tamar first revealed details of the scary incident earlier this month, saying she “almost d*ed” after waking up in a pool of blood.
