Dancing With the Stars’ Len Goodman Tribute in 20th Anniversary Episode

How Much Do the Celebrities Get Paid to Be on Dancing With the Stars?

Citing multiple sources, Variety reported in 2019 that Dancing With the Stars contestants make $125,000 for the rehearsal period and first two weeks of the show. If they progress beyond that point, the outlet continued, they earn more money each week. At the time, sources told the publication stars could earn a maximum of $295,000.

However, Bobby Bones said he made more than this when he won season 27 with Sharna Burgess in 2018.

“That show pays OK,” the radio personality said on a Sept. 2025 episode of Jason Tartick‘s podcast Trading Secrets. “Like, first episode, no money. Second episode, $10,000. I think it’s like, $10,000, $10,000, $20,000, $20,000. It ends up being $50,000 an episode if you last.”

Also receiving a base salary of around $110,000, Bones continued, “I ended up making close to $400,000 from that show.”

ABC has not publicly confirmed any of these figures.

20 Best Dances To Mark 20th Anniversary

by jummy84 November 11, 2025
written by jummy84

The pros of Dancing With the Stars never let up when it comes to creating show-stopping numbers, but there are a select few numbers that will forever remain in the hearts and minds of fringe lovers everywhere.

In no particular order, here are 20 of the most memorable performances from the last 20 years.

1. Season 33 Argentine Tango with Derek Hough and Mark Ballas

In 2024, the veteran pros performed a same-sex Argentine tango into the November 26 finale that was a historic moment for the franchise: For the first time, two men performed hand in hand under the mirror ball.

2. Season 10 Quickstep featuring Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger

Season 10 champs Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger proved early on that the Mirror Ball Trophy was theirs to lose after performing a spirited quickstep to “Anything Goes.”

3. Season 19 Freestyle Featuring Mark Ballas and Sadie Robertson

Always the clever choreographer, Mark Ballas dressed up as Super Mario while Sadie Robertson donned a father-approved flush frock in this Season 19 freestyle version of a video game.

4. Season 30 Freestyle Featuring Iman Shumpert and Danielle Karagach

Iman Shumpert became the first NBA player to earn a perfect score of 40 for his ingenious freestyle with Danielle Karagach to “I Got 5 On It” in Season 30. The duo overcame their absolutely ridiculous difference in height and went on to win the Mirror Ball Trophy.

5. Season 17 Freestyle Featuring Derek Hough and Amber Riley

Season 17 winners Derek Hough and Amber Riley made hand towels sexy in this unforgettable freestyle from 2013.

6. Season 18 Contemporary Featuring Derek Hough and Amy Purdy

Season 18’s Amy Purdy was the first double amputee to ever appear on Dancing with the Stars. Lucky for her, she was paired with the five-time winner and got to perform gorgeous routines like this emotional contemporary to “Human.”

7. Season 5 Paso Doble Featuring Mel B and Maks Chermkovskiy

In Season 5, Mel B was a perfect match for ballroom bad boy Maks Chermkovskiy in this impeccable Paso Doble that notched perfect scores.

8. Season 20 Contemporary Featuring Sharna Burgess and Noah Galloway

Sharna Burgess hit a career high in Season 20 by choreographing a stirring contemporary to “American Soldier” for her and Noah Galloway, a double amputee combat veteran.

9. Season 2 Freestyle Featuring Cheryl Burke and Drew Lachey

Yee-haw to Season 2 champs Cheryl Burke and Drew Lachey, who had us wanting to “Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy” during this knee-slapping freestyle.

10. Season 33 Contemporary Featuring Danny Amendola and Witney Carson

Danny Amendola and Witney Carson went crazy viral for their next-to-impossible leg lift during their Dedication Night contemporary in Season 33.

11. Season 19 Jazz Featuring Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson

It was inevitable — but no less appreciated — when Season 19 winner Alfonso Ribeiro trotted out his classic Carlton for a jazz dance with Witney Carson.

12. Season 22 Freestyle Featuring Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd

Deaf celebrity Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd solidified their standing as Season 22’s winning couple after performing this stunning freestyle to “The Sound of Silence” in the finals.

13. Season 16 Argentine Tango Featuring Zendaya and Val Chermkovskiy

Look, we get why Zendaya still feels wronged from her time on Dancing With the Stars at the tender age of 16. After watching her near-perfect Argentine tango with partner Val Chermkovskiy, we must ask yet again: Why didn’t she win in 2013?

14. Season 30 Argentine Tango Featuring Jojo Siwa and Jenna Johnson

Jojo Siwa became the latest DWTS trailblazer in Season 30 when she and Jenna Johnson were paired as the first same-sex duo. Among their perfect moves: this slick Argentine tango that helped them finish second for the season.

15. Season 33 Jazz Featuring Mark Ballas and Charli D’Amelio

Kudos once again to Mark Ballas, who hit pay-dirt in Season 33 when he was paired with the talented Charli D’Amelio. Among their master moves: this week 4 jazz routine to the theme from The Simpsons.

16. Season 23 Argentine Tango Featuring Gleb Savchenko and Jana Kramer

Gleb Savchenko and Jana Kramer pushed the envelope in Season 23 with this extremely sexy Argentine tango that started on black silk sheets in bed.

17. Season 31 Samba Featuring Gabby Windey and Val Chermkovskiy

This Season 31 samba between Gabby Windey and Val Chermkovskiy is as much a testament to the pro’s choreographing skills as it is to executive producer Conrad Green, who oversaw the eye-popping backdrop.

18. Season 9 Paso Doble Featuring Derek Hough and Joanna Krupa

A very young Derek Hough had fun with dark lighting and glow-in-the-dark costumes in this innovative Paso Doble from Season 9 with Joanna Krupa.

19. “Moon River” Tribute Dance For The Late Len Goodman

Current and former pros paid tribute to the late Len Goodman in 2023 by waltzing perfectly to “Moon River.” It ended with the troupe gesturing to an empty middle chair on the judges’ dais.

20. Season 12 Argentine Tango Featuring Kym Johnson and Hines Ward

Kym Johnson gave just about everybody a huge scare in Season 12 when she fell on her neck while rehearsing her Argentine tango with Hines Ward. Despite an initial fear over losing feeling in her limbs, Johnson and Ward went on to perform the number without a hitch and ended up winning the season.

New Trailer for ‘V for Vendetta’ 20th Anniversary Screenings in 2026

by Alex Billington

Source: YouTube

“Remember, remember, the 5th of November, the gunpowder, treason & plot…” Fathom Ent. has debuted a year-in-advance special screening of the extraordinary revolutionary classic V for Vendetta, made by The Wachowskis and director James McTeigue. The re-release event will be held on November 5th, 2026 in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the movie (it was originally released in March 2006 but the date November 5th is part of the movie). V for Vendetta is one of my all-time favorite movies, an enlivening and inspiring experience, and one of The Wachowski Sisters’ most exhilarating follow-ups to The Matrix just 7 years prior. In a near future British dystopian authoritarian society (similar to the one in America today), a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of “V”, plots to overthrow the tyrannical government with the help of a young woman. Natalie Portman stars as Evey, and Hugo Weaving co-stars entirely under a Guy Fawkes mask in one his best performances ever as the enigmatic V. The cast includes Stephen Rea, Stephen Fry, John Hurt, Tim Pigott-Smith, Rupert Graves, & Roger Allam. I used to rewatch this movie every year on November 5th, it’s a brilliant presentation of a real revolution when things get this bad.

Here’s the new 20th Anniversary promo trailer for James McTeigue’s V for Vendetta, from YouTube:

V for Vendetta 20th Anniversary Trailer

V for Vendetta Poster

In the near future, Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman) is an average citizen in the UK, which is under the rule of the fascist & tyrannical Norsefire Party. She is an employee of the state-run British TV Network, but soon, she becomes the number one enemy of the state with an enigmatic & larger-than-life freedom fighter known only by the letter “V” (Hugo Weaving). V informs Evey she must hide in his underground lair for at least one year, and while she is reluctant to the idea at first, a bond soon forms between them. In the meantime, the mysterious past of V is gradually revealed to the police inspector tasked with finding him, Eric Finch, and it is not long until he starts questioning everything that his government stands for…

V for Vendetta is directed by Australian filmmaker James McTeigue, directing his very first big movie at the time before going on to make Ninja Assassin (2009), The Raven (2012), and Survivor (2015) after. The screenplay is written by The Wachowski Sisters – Lilly & Lana Wachowski. Adapted from the famous graphic novel written by Alan Moore (who removed his name from the credits) and illustrated by David Lloyd, first published in 1982. Produced by The Wachowskis, Joel Silver, and Grant Hill. Warner Bros first released V for Vendetta in theaters starting March 17th, 2026 – earning a total of $70M at the US box office that year. Fathom will host special screenings of V for Vendetta next November 5th, 2026 in theaters nationwide.

“Twilight” is celebrating its upcoming 20th anniversary (don’t panic!) with three collectible editions of Stephanie Meyers’s bestselling series. The special-edition copies officially released on Tuesday and are available to order on Amazon. But act fast, because they’re already No. 1 bestsellers and sure to sell out quickly.

The three collectible releases include the “Twilight: Deluxe Collector’s Edition,” which features a vintage-inspired design with a foil-stamped slipcase, ribbon marker and brand new cover design; the paperback “Twilight: 20th Anniversary Edition,” debuts new cover art and a black and red book edge; and lastly, the most comprehensive of the bunch, the “Twilight Saga Deluxe Hardcover Collection,” a box set that includes all three books in the “Twilight” series “Twilight,” “New Moon,” “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn,”in addition to Meyers’ most recent addition, “Midnight Sun,” a retelling of the first book from the perspective of Edward Cullen rather than Bella Swan.

The 20th anniversary follows news of an animated series based on “Midnight Sun,” that has been given a straight-to-series order at Netflix. There were originally four novels in the immensely popular “Twilight” series — “Twilight,” “New Moon,” “Eclipse,” and “Breaking Dawn” — published between 2005 and 2008. Meyers also released the book “Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined” in 2015, which gender-swapped the two main characters, Bella and Edward. Meyers then released “Midnight Sun” in 2020.

The film franchise, collectively known as “The Twilight Saga,” was comprised of five films and was released between 2008 and 2012. The five films grossed over $3 billion at the global box office in total and made stars of main cast members like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner.

Playful Biopic Of The 20th Century’s Most Influential Writer

by jummy84 September 25, 2025
written by jummy84

“Franz is a writer who doesn’t like to talk,” says Franz Kafka’s agent in this playful and oddly endearing biopic of the enigmatic Czech author, who died in 1924 aged just 40. Kafka’s output was slim but influential, the film notes, reporting that works about Kafka outnumber pieces by him at a rate of 10 million to one. That ratio is more impressive given that they were smuggled out of Europe in a suitcase at the dawn of the Second World War, and, given Kafka’s Jewish roots, could very easily have been lost forever. Coincidentally, Agnieska Holland’s film Franz — which competes in Competition at this year’s San Sebastian Film Festival — appears shortly after the loss of another mighty 20th century artist, David Lynch, who described Kafka as “the one artist that I feel could be my brother”. Lynch would likely have approved of this experimental take on Kafka’s life, with its dryly humorous flourishes and rich, almost Magrittean color palette.

Like Lynch, Kafka’s work both invites interpretation and refuses it at the same time, and it’s to the director’s credit that Holland — working from an intelligent script by Marek Epstein — stays clear of amateur psychology. Though she does illustrate one of his key texts (the gruesome short story In the Penal Colony, which causes outrage at its first public reading), Holland doesn’t look to his life for explanations. Instead, by mapping out his relatively normal upbringing — there is nothing at all “Kafkaesque” about it, to use the word coined to describe his enduringly surreal and dark bureaucratic fables — Franz marvels at the depth and strangeness of his intellect, which confounds his overbearing father who takes a dim view of his son’s “stupid writing”.

Franz doesn’t say as much out loud, but it seems likely that Kafka was on what we now call the spectrum, as we see in an early scene where he demands change of a two-krone coin from a bemused street beggar. But part of Kafka’s drive is something altogether less tangible; art was soon to enter its avant-garde phase in the early 20th century, and the writer turns out to be much more bohemian than his bourgeois upbringing suggests, showing a keen interest in underground Yiddish theater. Key to understanding this is his bizarre relationship with Felice Bauer (Carol Schuler), his on-off fiancée; Kafka — played with a charismatic opacity by Idan Weiss — seems neither to find her attractive nor does he want to be with her, a tension that doesn’t quite pan out the way you might expect.

In the meantime, as Kafka finds his voice, so does Prague, and it’s significant that the film takes place against the gentrification of the Czech capital and its break with Germany as an occupying culture (Holland, who studied there as a student in the ’60s, seems especially alert to this particular paradigm shift). And aside from some very modern artistic flourishes — including the fact that each character around Kafka breaks the fourth wall to discuss him — Holland brings the film explicitly into the modern day by taking us to the Franz Kafka Museum and teasing us with the concept of a Kafka Burger restaurant. Adding to the otherworldly ambience is the shifting jazz-folk score by Mary Komasa and Antoni Łazarkiewicz, which, like our hero, is similarly protean in nature.

Kafka’s short life is convenient for the purposes of storytelling, and it fits quite neatly into the film’s two-hour running time. The writer’s illness — tuberculosis of the larynx — is seen as a particularly cruel horror, albeit one in lockstep with his morbid imagination, which continued to work overtime. Surprisingly, in contrast to perceptions of Kafka as an introverted artist, locked away in his lonely garret, Franz shows him as a relatively robust, if skinny, young man, given to frequent exercise and a regular patron of the most absurd sanatoriums in Europe, a cue for lots of very amusing — not to mention acrobatic — full-frontal male nudity.

The one constant in Holland’s film is an unusual one for a biopic; the traditional approach being that each individual presents different facets of their true selves to different people. But in Franz, Kafka is pretty resolute in his identity and his eccentricities, notably in his insistence on writing all his now-famous literary works by hand. Everyone around him can agree on who Franz Kafka is, the bigger question is what. As the museum tour guide puts it: “Kafka’s work is locked, and he took the keys with him.” Holland’s film — selected by Poland as this year’s Oscar contender — invites you to ponder the conundrum that he left behind.

Heidi Klum has marked her son Henry’s 20th birthday by sharing a series of personal photographs and tributes on Instagram to her boy.

Heidi Klum has marked her son Henry’s 20th birthday by sharing a series of personal photographs and tributes on Instagram to her boy

The supermodel, 52, posted images of Henry – who she had with her singer ex-husband Seal – throughout the years, from childhood snapshots to more recent pictures to mark him turning 20 on Friday (12.09.25.)

She captioned her carousel of snaps: “We love you all so very much (red heart emoji) HENRY (red heart emoji.)”

The photos included images of Heidi cuddling Henry as a child, a picture of him smiling as a baby, and more recent shots of him playing a video game and looking into the camera.

Henry is one of four children Heidi shares with her former husband Seal, 62.

Their other children are Johan, Lou and Leni.

In August, Heidi shared a selfie with Henry, Johan and Leni as she moved one of her children into a college dorm in New York City.

She captioned the post: “College move in day NYC (red heart and Statue of Libreryty emojis.)”

That same month, Heidi attended the return of Kith’s runway show in New York, where Henry made his debut on the catwalk.

Posting photos and videos from the event, Heidi said: “So many beautiful Models on the @kith catwalk in New York tonight, but I only have eyes for you @henrygunthersamuel.”

The show took place on the streets of NoHo outside Kith’s renovated flagship store and was the label’s first runway event in six years.

Henry appeared in a denim-on-denim look, including a light wash jacket and jeans layered over a white bomber jacket and collared shirt, styled with white trainers.

The appearance came shortly after Henry signed a modelling contract with Next Management.

In a statement released by the agency in July, he said: “I’ve grown up around fashion and entertainment, but stepping into this world myself is a whole new experience.

“I’m grateful to Next Management for this opportunity and excited to learn, grow, and find my own voice in the industry.”
