When will the One Punch Man season 3 English dub be released? Latest news and speculation

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

During the first two seasons, One-Punch Man’s English dub was pretty well-regarded, capturing the wacky humour of the original Japanese dialogue. The show is known for its over-the-top atmosphere, so for fans who prefer to watch it dubbed instead of subtitled, good voice acting is crucial.

With new characters from the original manga expected to show up this season, we’ll also be hearing some new voices from the actors joining the cast.

So, when will we get that English release? Here’s everything we know so far.

When will the One-Punch Man season 3 English dub come out?

At present, there’s no confirmed release date for One-Punch Man’s English dub. What we do know is that season 3 will premiere on Crunchyroll on 12th October.

For seasons 1 and 2, the English dub aired several months later on Toonami. However, we can probably expect an earlier release date this time round.

VIZ Media, the company that licenses One-Punch Man in many international territories, announced the season 3 voice cast back in July 2025.

Viz Media

This suggests that the English dub may already have been recorded ahead of the season premiere in October, meaning that (if fans are lucky), we could see a simultaneous release for the dubbed and subtitled versions.

If not, it’s entirely plausible that the English dub will release about two weeks after the original Japanese release, which would translate to a 26th October release date on Crunchyroll.

Right now, VIZ Media’s promotional announcements just list the new season of One-Punch Man as “coming soon.” We’ll make sure to update this page once we learn the specific date for season 3’s English dub!

One-Punch Man is available to watch right now on Crunchyroll.

Dylan Dreyer’s Grandma Won a House in Florida on ‘The Price Is Right’

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Making waves on TV runs in Dylan Dreyer‘s family history.

“Yesterday, we were talking about how Dylan’s grandmother was on The Price is Right,” Sheinelle Jones said during the third hour of Today‘s Tuesday, October 7, episode. “That was all the way back in 1963. So, of course, we had to dig up the footage ’cause Craig [Melvin] didn’t remember.”

The show went on to air a clip of Dreyer’s grandmother, Doris Milke, winning big on the game show. “She’s won more merchandise than anyone ever has in all the years. A total of $72,769,” former The Price Is Right host Bill Cullen said in the footage.

“Aw, I just miss her smile and her laugh,” Dreyer said in reaction to the clip. “I called her Gram. And, I mean, $70,000 back then is like $700,000 today. She’s still one of the most winningest contestants on The Price is Right.”

As for what her grandmother won on The Price is Right, Dreyer shared, “She won a house in Florida. She won an ice cream truck, lots of fur coats, and a couple of Jaguars, like, actual cars.”

NBC

The Price Is Right originally premiered on NBC in 1956 before moving to ABC in 1963. The series has aired on CBS since 1972.

Dreyer went on to explain that at the time her grandmother was on the game show, contestants would keep returning to continue their winning streak, like Jeopardy! “Every time you won, you would keep going back,” she stated.

Though Milke won several prizes on The Price Is Right, Dreyer said her family no longer owns all of her winnings. “They did sell the house in Florida, but my brother has some of the furniture from hers,” the meteorologist shared.

Dreyer previously opened up about her grandmother’s history on The Price Is Right on Today in July 2016. “After six weeks of competing, Grandma Doris came home a winner with the prizes to prove it,” she said in a prerecorded segment of herself visiting the game show’s set.

In addition to chatting with host Drew Carey, Dreyer got to step into her grandmother’s shoes by becoming a contestant on the show. After her name was announced to “come on down,” Dreyer accidentally ran up on stage rather than join her fellow contestants.

Before leaving the set of the CBS series, Dreyer tried her luck on the Big Wheel. By a stroke of luck, she hit the $1 spot on her first try.

“I swear, I have the video. That was my first try,” Dreyer assured her Today colleagues at the time, joking that her family has “a lot of luck on The Price Is Right.”

CNN Hire Washington Post Fashioin Critic Rachel Tashjian

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

CNN treads regularly in the halls of government, but now it’s getting ready for a stroll on the catwalk.

Rachel Tashjian, most recently the fashion critic for The Washington Post, will join CNN as a senior style reporter. She will be part of a team under the supervision of Choire Sicha, who was hired in May to develop a group of journalists focused on features as the news outlet readies a new digital product that will amplify certain beats and topics that may not get as much attention during the primetime lineup of its flagship TV operation. Tashjian will report to Fiona Sinclair Scott, global editor of CNN Style.

“I am absolutely stoked that I finally get to work with Rachel,” said Sicha, in a statement. “She is a brilliant reporter who is also perfectly hilarious, insightful, curious and empathetic, whether she’s writing about thrifting or about Dior.”

CNN has already begun running ads for a new digital subscription service that promises to grant access to “unlimited streaming and articles, including 24/7 global news, award-winning shows and films and more.” Mark Thompson, CNN’s CEO, has articulated a strategy of moving the news company beyond its dependence on cable distribution into new arenas where it can attract a broader set of customers who will pay for its products in different ways.

Tashjian’s hire will have CNN jousting with other major news outlets such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal that see fashion as a subject worth deeper coverage Tashjian is also the creator of Opulent Tips, an “invitation-only” newsletter that provides shopping and personal style advice.

She has also worked as the fashion news director at Harper’s Bazaar, and as the first fashion critic at GQ. She profiled leading designers including Miuccia Prada, Maria Grazia Chiuri of Dior and Nicolas Ghesquière of Louis Vuitton.

Tashjian attended the University of Pennsylvania and holds a B.A. in English and art history. She will be based out of CNN’s New York Bureau.

John Gore Studios Buys Hilary Bevan Jones’ Hilltop Screen

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Hilary Bevan Jones’ recently launched Hilltop Screen has landed investment from Broadway producer John Gore’s TV and film venture, and drafted in Francis Hopkinson for a new central role.

John Gore Studios has bought a majority stake in Hilltop Screen, which former Endor chief and UK drama industry veteran Bevan Jones co-founded with Medwyn Jones, a British media lawyer. Financial terms were not disclosed.

At the same time, John Gore Studio has appointed former ITV Studios and Lookout Point exec Hopkinson as Creative Director.

Hilltop Screen joins John Gore Studios with several TV projects currently in development with major broadcasters and global streaming platforms, and feature films, including one soon to be announced.

Bevan Jones, one of the most well-known faces in British drama TV production, has credits ranging from Richard Curtis’ The Girl in the Café to Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot and from Cracker to The Boat That Rocked.  She was the first female BAFTA chair and supports emerging filmmakers through her global charity, Watersprite Film Festival, which she has chaired since 2009.

She launched her new venture after the Seven. One Studios-backed Endor closed last year in the face of the tough production environment in the UK. Bevan Jones had broadly stepped back from the business she launched in 1998, but remained a key player as a hands-on producer.

Hopkinson has been running his own script consultancy for several years, Expanded Media, and is known as one of the most experienced drama makers in the UK, having worked on the likes of The Bitter End and Wallander. He will complete work he has with Starz on 50 Cent-backed crime drama Fightland as he moves into his new post.

Hopkinson will oversee a slate of TV and film proejcts, and report to John Gore Studios CEO Hilary Strong.

As Deadline revealed in July, John Gore Studios launched with headquarters in London and offices in New York, and with a slate including Joan Collins-starring Wallis Simpson biopic The Bitter End (working title). Several high profile execs joined Strong on launch.

That news came over a year after Gore, a 25-time Tony Award winner, acquired iconic British Dracula outfit Hammer Films and several weeks after it bought Kaleidoscope parent KFilm. Gore is known theater productions such as Oklahoma!, Dear Evan Hansen and Hello, Dolly!.

Gore, who is Executive Chairman of John Gore Studios, called Bevan Jones “one of the most respected producers of British drama” and Hopkinson “an exceptional producer whose track record of delivering acclaimed, ambitious drama makes him the perfect creative leader.”

Strong added: “We are proud to be assembling a diverse and dynamic ecosystem of talent, IP and production expertise. By building an end-to-end studio of rights, production and distribution, we are accelerating our mission to deliver compelling, globally resonant stories rooted in both legacy and innovation.”

Bevan Jones, who is Managing Director of Hilltop Screen, said: “I formed Hilltop Screen as a small multi-generational company because I’m keen to continue making high quality, world class TV and film that will last a lifetime. I’m thrilled that John Gore Studios recognises and shares this vision and has chosen to enable it.

Hopkinson noted that Gore had directed him in a university play four 40 years ago, as he gears up for his new post. “The company has an incredibly exciting slate ahead, bringing together the very best of British creative talent—both on and off screen—and showcasing it on the international stage,” he added.

More announcements around commissions and slate developments from both Hilltop Screen and John Gore Studios can be expected this year.

Eli Manning on How That ‘Chad Powers’ Cameo Came About

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Eli Manning had one final gift to give to Chad Powers before he fully ceded the character’s fate to star Glen Powell and showrunner Michael Waldron.

In episode three of Hulu’s Chad Powers, Powell’s Powers enters a game in relief to injured South Georgia Catfish starter Gerry Dougan (Colton Ryan) and carries the team to a last-minute, come-from-behind victory over the University of Mississippi Rebels, colloquially known as Ole Miss. The South Georgia sideline erupts; those on the Ole Miss side had a different reaction.

“(Who) the fuck is that guy?” a surprised, unhappy Eli Manning asks.

Manning, though clearly looking like Eli Manning at his alma mater, is actually not playing Eli Manning — he’s acting as an Ole Miss coach, The Hollywood Reporter is told.

“Omaha let us know, like, ‘Yeah, [Eli] is gonna come visit set, maybe do some press stuff with Glen,’ and we were always saying, ‘We’ve got to do a cameo with him,’” Waldron said. “We knew they were going to be playing Ole Miss — that felt like the right way.”

In the script, the coach character did not swear.

“Obviously, he has one line. I hope it plays as a somewhat shocking line, if you know Eli,” he continued. “He was just so game. That wasn’t what the line was in the script, and we were like, ‘What if you said ‘fuck’?”

The “fuck” he did — literally.

Manning is not the only Easter egg in the scene. Standing next to him with a coach’s headset on is Powell’s own father, Glen Powell Sr.

Glen Powell in Chad Powers

Daniel Delgado/Disney

Chad Powers is an adaptation of a viral 2022 prank from Eli Manning’s ESPN+ series, Eli’s Places, a spinoff of big brother’s Peyton’s Places. In the sketch, the 41-year-old retired New York Giants great goes undercover at Penn State’s annual walk-on tryouts via a wig and facial prostheses/makeup as Chad Powers, a home-schooled, mom-coached quarterback. He looks funny (and way old) and sounds funny, but Chad’s arm is no joke. It the end, Manning and the Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin — the only two in on the gag — reveal Powers’ secret identity.

Somehow that turned into this.

Hulu’s Chad Powers follows disgraced Oregon Ducks quarterback Russ Holliday nearly a decade after he blew the national championship game — and the next eight years of his life. To get back into football, Holliday goes undercover as Chad Powers at the fictitious South Georgia University, which is desperate for a new QB. It’s a good thing his dad works in Hollywood hair and makeup.

Powers’ next victim is Peyton Manning’s old school, the University of Tennessee. This time, Powers, now the consensus QB1, lights up the opposition for 343 yards passing, 75 yards rushing, and four TDs. To recap: Powers just barely eked out a win against Eli’s school — but he absolutely lit up Peyton’s.

“That was my only suggestion to the plot of the show,” Eli Manning joked in a Zoom with THR.

It didn’t go unnoticed.

“Certain times you just gotta swallow your pride and say, ‘This is the best thing for the show,’” Peyton Manning told THR in a separate call. “[Chad Powers] is Eli’s baby, too. Eli helped create this and went for it, so I felt like he had a little more editorial say than I did, probably, in this one.”

Brothers are gonna be brothers.

Amazon October Prime Day knocks £20 off the PS5 Pro for the first time

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

It’s been less than a year since the PS5 Pro came out and already it’s been swept up in the tide of Amazon Prime Day savings.

This premium console – known for its outstanding graphics and improved speed – is currently on sale for £20 as part of the Big Deal Days offers.

This is the first time the PS5 Pro has seen a major discount in an Amazon sale, which bodes well as we head towards the Black Friday and Boxing Day deals.

However, if you’ve been toying with the idea of buying this console don’t wait, as we can’t guarantee an offer will reappear come November.

This deal is available at Amazon, Currys and Very and we’ve also seen offers on the PS5 Slim too. For more information, check out when does Amazon’s October Prime Day end.

What is the PS5 Pro Amazon Prime Day offer?

The PS5 Pro is currently on sale for £20 off in the Amazon October Prime Day sale, this takes the RRP from £699 to £679.

Although this isn’t a massive saving, it bodes well considering the console has only been out for 11 months. Normally, PlayStation puts the previous year’s console on sale during the October and Black Friday sales. However, PlayStation are fickle, so there’s a chance this will be the only major deal before Christmas – don’t miss it!

Is the PS5 Slim on sale this Amazon Prime Day?

Yes. The PS5 Slim is also on sale at Amazon and other retailers.

The Disc edition is currently on sale for £55 off, taking the cost from £479 to £424. Meanwhile, the Digital edition is still enjoying the sale from last week which took it from £429 to £329.

Should I wait for the PS6?

While it sometimes feels like a waste to splash out on a new console with another model potentially on the horizon, the PS6 is still a long way off. Speculation has its release date set for 2027 or even 2028, so the PS5 Pro is definitely going to be the cream of the crop for at least another 18 months.

Zachary Quinto as Dr. Oliver Wolf —

Josh Is New Chief, Zachary Quinto on His and Wolf’s New Dynamic

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 3 “The Pusher.”]

When Zachary Quinto told TV Insider that Dr. Oliver Wolf and Dr. Josh Nichols’ (Teddy Sears) working relationship was going to be shifting in Brilliant Minds Season 2, he meant it. At the end of Episode 2, Wolf’s mother, Muriel (Donna Murphy), revealed she was leaving the hospital, meaning it needed a new chief medical officer. The episode on Monday, October 6, confirmed that Josh is the new chief.

This comes after Carol (Tamberla Perry) points out to Wolf that while he may be happy his mom is out since she “questioned my every move, my every test, pushed patient turnover over patient care,” her replacement will likely do the same. “You are in for a rude awakening,” Carol says. “That wicked witch coddled you, and whoever they bring in next will not hesitate to kick your butt all the way back to Kansas.”

It’s in the final scene of the episode that Wolf is shocked to learn that Josh is the chief when he’s called to his mom’s old office. (Josh, earlier, brushes off Oliver’s attempt to talk or not talk about their Season 2 Episode 2 kiss.) When Wolf asks if that’s why he’d been avoiding him, Josh confirms, adding, “Wolf, it’s time we talked.”

The doctors have taken a step back in their romance this season after Wolf failed to show at a gala at which Josh was being honored in the finale; he’d been surprised by his father (Mandy Patinkin), whom he’d thought had died, reappearing in his life.

“I think both Josh and Oliver are really complicated guys. I think they have a lot to navigate and it’s a bit of a ride with them this season,” showrunner Michael Grassi told us. “They’re going to go through stuff this season, but there is a really deep respect there and a love there. And I think you see that in all of their scenes together, even as they’re navigating all of the complexity that they’re going through. I love Zach and Teddy and their chemistry, and this relationship is such an important part of the show and we’ll continue to explore it, but in some surprising ways.” He’d said, while talking about the first two episodes, that their dynamic would “shift in a big way very soon,” and he wasn’t exaggerating with this chief reveal.

Added Quinto, “Things definitely change in the nature of their working relationship at Bronx General over the course of the first few episodes of the season, so that’s something they’re going to have to navigate. And I think that question about what they mean to each other and what they want to be to each other is something that will continue to unfold. And I don’t think there are any easy answers or it’s not black and white. It’s like a lot of human relationships, which means that it’s complicated, it’s uncertain, and I think they’re both trying to figure it out and we’ll definitely watch that unfold as the season progresses.”

As for whether he could offer any hope for fans of their romance, “It’s that classic will they, won’t they,” Quinto said. “And I don’t think anybody knows the answer at this point, but I think that they’re drawn to each other and I think that they learn how to relate to each other in a more complete and holistic way as a result of the experiences that they have in the first handful of episodes this season.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Ericka (Ashleigh LaThrop) leads the charge in trying to find out who reported Carol for continuing to treat Alison after discovering she was having an affair with her husband. She then decides it doesn’t matter since Carol’s back at the hospital and “whoever threw her under the bus has to look at her every day and live with the guilt of what they’ve done.” Dana (Aury Krebs) agrees, calling that, “Harsh, but true.”

Ericka continues, “Plus, there’s no punishment worse than keeping secrets. The shame. The lies. It festers until eventually it eats you alive.” (She knows a bit about that, since she’s hiding that she’s taking benzos for her anxiety.) That’s when Dana admits she reported Carol. “I’m not obligated to tell you why, but I will say this: I had my reasons. And I’d do it again if I had to,” she tells her roommate.

What do you think of Josh as chief and Dana being the one to have reported Carol? Let us know in the comments section below.

‘The Roaring Banshees’ Follows Irish Rebel Unit in Prohibition Chicago

by jummy84 October 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Dublin-based “Irish Blood” producers Deadpan Pictures and Canadian shingle Shaftesbury Films are teaming up again on “The Roaring Banshees,” an adaptation of the hit play by John Morton and Peter McGann that follows an all-female band of Irish rebels who find themselves pursuing a life of crime in 1920s Chicago. The series is among the projects selected to take part in Rome’s MIA Market, which runs Oct. 6 – 10.

“The Roaring Banshees” begins in Ireland, in the aftermath of a failed assassination attempt on a powerful political kingpin by the secret rebel unit known as the Banshees. Forced to escape on an American-bound ship, the members are separated, only to reunite in Chicago in the frigid winter of 1923. Here, they plan to lie low and stay out of trouble until their former wartime commander negotiates their safe passage home — a plan that soon goes awry, making their return to Ireland unlikely.

Struggling to survive in Prohibition Chicago, with the police on their tail and an Irish assassin hot on their tracks, the women resort to crime, selling bootleg liquor to the Irish mob. But as their business grows, they attract trouble from brutal gangsters, corrupt cops and their own increasingly unpredictable natures, in what the series’ creators describe as “a classic rise-and-fall gangster story of immigrants staking their claim in the land of hope and glory.”

Speaking to Variety ahead of the MIA Market, Deadpan Pictures co-founder Paul Donovan referenced series such as “Peaky Blinders” and “Babylon Berlin” when describing the appeal of “The Roaring Banshees.”

“It’s a cinematic, visual, high-end, dramatic, classic gangster saga — but also entertaining and fun,” he said. “We don’t take ourselves too seriously here. We’re out to entertain.”

Donovan recalled his first encounter with the play on which the series is based during a theater festival in Dublin. “It was a packed-out show, and it just had the audience laughing and crying and hooting and shouting and roaring on the characters,” he said.

The producer, who had previously collaborated with Morton on the Victorian-era Acorn TV period drama “Dead Still,” praised the writer’s work — “It always inherently had humor and entertainment in it,” he said — and immediately recognized the source material’s potential for adaptation.

“So much of the action necessarily happened off-stage. It was explosions and shootouts and all sorts of great action sequences that they gave the impression of happening, but you didn’t actually see them,” he said. After the show, Donovan met with Morton and McGann to make his pitch, insisting those action set pieces would look “fantastic” on screen and telling the duo, “Let’s go make a big, brave, ambitious piece of fun, cinematic TV.”

The series follows the rebel unit as they struggle to make a fresh start in America, “out of their comfort zone” and far from the cause they’d spent their lives committed to, according to Donovan.

“They’re a crack squad who fought in the war of independence in Ireland, and then they ended up on the wrong side in the Civil War thereafter. So they’re quite fired up by a cause, and the justification for the kind of violence and mayhem that they engage in,” said the producer. “But things have changed, because they’re not fighting this just cause anymore. They’re no longer soldiers. They veer towards more of a gangster lifestyle, so it’s more of gray moral world that they engage in.”

“That kind of muddy area,” he added, “is fertile ground for drama.”

“The Roaring Banshees” is written by Morton and McGann and directed by Neasa Hardiman, whose credits include the Netflix series “Untamed” and “Jessica Jones,” and the Hulu drama “We Were the Lucky Ones.” The 8 x 60’ series will be shot in Ireland and Hamilton, Ontario, which Donovan described as a convincing stand-in for 1920s Chicago.

Deadpan Pictures and Toronto-based production outfit Shaftesbury Films previously teamed up on “Irish Blood,” Acorn TV’s mystery-drama series starring Alicia Silverstone that was recently renewed for a second season.

“Between the two of us, we can bring up to 45% of the finance to the table,” said Donovan. “There’s an established relationship there, and the Irish-Canadian co-production does work really well between the different funding sources. For MIA, our challenge now is to get partners on board for the rest of the funding.”

Rome’s MIA Market runs Oct. 6 – 10.
