Wedotv, ZDF Studios Launch ‘Legacy’ FAST Channel

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

CANNES, France — wedotv, the global free ad-supported streaming network, is partnering with Germany’s ZDF Studios, to create and distribute a FAST channel dedicated to just one title: landmark South African drama series “Legacy.”

ZDF Studios already represents the series globally outside , bringing it to market at 2023’s Mipcom.

As many companies turn to YouTube to build IP, then approach streaming services with masses of data on the result, the single IP channel – wedotv: Legacy — now created and distributed by wedotv – shows companies approaching IP the other way round. First released in 2020 on South Africa’s M-Net, a division of MultiChoice, and now a Canal Plus company, the thriller about how a family tears itself apart in a succession battle built a huge fandom in South Africa and fame abroad. It is now leveraging digital to open up new audiences.

M-Net’s first telenovela, “Legacy” also underscores a new pathway to success – think Spain’s “The Vow” and “Sueños de Libertad” – by bringing premium production values to a novela narrative which, despite this, doesn’t hide telenovelas’ melodrama heart.

This comes with the series creators and its fictional world. “Legacy” was produced by South African powerhouse Tshedza Pictures, behind the International Emmy-nominated telenovela “The River” whose co-founders, Gwydon Beynon and Phathu Makwarela, created the series.

It is set in a world of dazzling opulence, caught by the mansion of the Price family, whose patriarch, Sebastian Price has built up Legacy Investments into a billionaire behemoth. The family mansion is a huge white marble affair replete with a pool and rose garden. The women wear stunning fashion numbers, Sebastian’s wife Dineo Price slinking down a staircase in a cleavage revealing skimpy number in its opening minutes.

Sebastian chooses and then rejects at least two successors in Ep. 1’s first 15 minutes, prompting his own murder, and a succession war as his bitter ex-wife and their unprincipled daughter Felicity will do anything to stop Dineo from shaping their playboy son into his successor. Legacy swept best telenovela and multiple other plaudits at South Africa’s 2021 SAFTA awards.

Among a large South African star-studded and notably diverse cast, the series toplines Dawid Minnaar (“Poppie Nongena”), Sean-Marco Vorster (“Warrior”) and the late Michelle Botes (“Isidingo”) who won SAFTA Golden Horns for actress and supporting actress for her performance.

The smash-hit, Award-winning series “Legacy” (104×45’) transports viewers into the high-stakes world of investment billionaires — where wealth is limitless, rivalries run deep, and family loyalty comes at a deadly price. Behind the glittering façade of the Price dynasty lies a battlefield of power, passion, and betrayal. As long-buried secrets explode and nothing and no one is safe, wedotv and ZDF Studios announced Monday at Mipcom.

“When ZDF Studios came to us with the idea of a channel dedicated to ‘Legacy,’ we wanted to make sure the key elements of a successful single IP channel were in place: quality, quantity, story, and proven audience ratings generator,” noted Philipp Rotermund, CEO of wedotv. “Legacy” has all of those key qualities in spades. It’s also incredibly compelling and binge-worthy, which helps keep viewers engaged within the platform ecosystem, which is essential for advertisers.”

“There is a real upside to creating and launching a channel like wedotv: ‘Legacy’ — It has a built-in fan base,” said Florian Streit, Director, Drama, ZDF Studios. “Single IP channels work well because they are immediately identifiable to fans. ‘Legacy’ is also a long-running series that maintains an exceptional level of quality across all episodes.”

Lifetime Movie ‘Shopping Cart Killer’ To Star Lela Rochon, Jarod Joseph

EXCLUSIVE: Fresh off bringing in Meghan Hooper White asEVP of Global Strategy and Co-Productions, Studio TF1 America is joining the dots with a new project for Lifetime, Shopping Cart Killer starring Lela Rochon (Waiting to Exhale) and Jarod Joseph (Once Upon a Time).

The project makes sense for Studio TF1 America and Hooper White given that although she joined from Paramount, she was previously VP of Original Movies, Co-Productions, and Acquisitions at Lifetime Networks, building its slate of movies. Lifetime and Studio TF1 America are both part of A+E Global Media.

Studio TF1 America Studio TF1 America was created by the bringing together of of TV movie specialists Johnson Production Group and Reel One Entertainment and is a joint venture with Studio TF1 and A+E Global Media.

Billed as a ripped-from-the-headlines Lifetime movie, Shopping Cart Killer (WT) is based on a true story. It follows Monica (Rochon) who sends her son off to military school and is ready to focus on herself again and start dating. When she meets Anthony (Joseph) she thinks she’s found a real connection. Anthony, however, harbors a dangerous secret – he’s a serial killer preying on women through dating apps. When she begins connecting the dots between Anthony’s past and a string of murders, Monica realizes she may be the key to ending his deadly rampage.

PF Pine Prods. is making the show with Rohm Feifer Entertainment and Studio TF1 America. Hooper White is an exec producer alongside Kara Feifer, Timothy O. Johnson and Elisabeth Rohm who also directs.

A+E has worldwide ex-Canada on the show. It is on its MIPCOM distribution slate and will be getting shopped to buyers this week. Internationally, the TV movie still fares well, so we’ll be checking for pre-sales on this one.

Jensen Ackles Calls ‘Countdown’ Cancellation a ‘Bummer’

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Jensen Ackles is sharing his reaction to the news that Countdown was not renewed at Amazon’s Prime Video for a second season.

The crime thriller debuted its first season in June before wrapping up its 13 episodes in early September following a weekly rollout. The series followed LAPD officer Mark Meachum (played by Ackles), who joins a secret task force to investigate a suspicious murder, but uncovers a sinister plot that requires the team to unite and save millions in the city.

On Friday, Prime Video announced it would not be renewing Countdown, despite it spending a short time on Nielsen’s top 10 U.S. streaming charts over the summer.

Ackles took to his Instagram to share his thoughts, saying, “As some of you may have seen already, Countdown did not get picked up for another season. Amazon’s gonna let it go, and it’s a bummer because I had such an amazing time making that show. Had an absolute blast with the cast and the crew.”

The Supernatural alum went on to express his appreciation for creator Derek Haas and the show’s writers, as well as Amazon “for giving us the opportunity” to make the series.

“Sometimes you can set out to do your best and check all those boxes, and ultimately it’s out of your hands. That’s the way it goes in this industry,” Ackles added before concluding, “That’s the end for Mark Meachum. … But I’m thankful for the experience. We’ll see you down the road on something else, I guess.”

Countdown also starred Jessica Camacho, Eric Dane, Violett Beane, Elliot Knight, Uli Latukefu, Rachel Armstrong and Bogdan Yasinski.

Diane Morgan’s new BBC sitcom lines up Motherland reunion

by jummy84 October 13, 2025

With her only son, Michael, about to move out—again—to repair his marriage, he brings his mother a gift to help her live independently: a second-hand AnnDroid Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot, called Linda, played by Morgan.

Designed to keep the ageing population company and take the pressure off the NHS, it’s Sue’s worst nightmare—an overly attentive, socially inept pain in the backside.

But Sue quickly discovers she can use her new companion to her advantage, settling scores and ticking off tasks her son never quite gets round to. What emerges is a charming buddy comedy between an older woman and her robot, who may be technically brilliant but socially clueless.

“In a world where AI is looming larger and ever-present, Ann Droid asks the question: what is replaceable and what is not?” reads the logline.

“As funny as it is poignant, Ann Droid tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Sue and Linda, a social humanoid robot created to keep elderly people company and monitor their health.”

Read more:

And if that wasn’t enough to get you on board, Morgan’s Motherland co-star Paul Ready plays Michael, while the iconic Sue Johnston (True Love, The Royle Family) leads the cast as Sue.

“I don’t know much, but I do know that if you get a chance to work with Diane Morgan, you take it. Immediately!” said Ready. “Can’t wait to be reunited and bring Michael to life in her brilliant comic series.”

Johnston echoed his excitement: “I’m thrilled to be back in the heart of BBC comedy. Diane and Sarah have created a show that will resonate with lots of different audiences, for different reasons, and I cannot wait to get started.”

Alfie’s Father Revealed With 2 Big Twists

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for the Matlock Season 2 premiere, “The Before Times.]

Matlock Season 2 picked up right where the first season left off: The mystery of Alfie’s so-called father. Niko Nicotera appeared in the Season 1 finale’s last seconds, claiming to be Alfie’s (Aaron D. Harris) father. As promised by creator Jennie Snyder Urman earlier this year, the premiere revealed if his claims were true by the episode’s end, but in true Matlock fashion, there was a twist as the episode closed out. The premiere also revealed Olympia’s (Skye P. Marshall) intentions to protect ex-husband Julian (Jason Ritter) in the Wellbrexa scandal and try to pin it on his father, Senior (Beau Bridges).

Viewers learned the name of Nicotera’s character, Joseph Danza, in the opening moments. A protective Matty (Kathy Bates) had told husband Edwin (Sam Anderson) to take Alfie out of the house immediately while she grilled Joey about his paternity claims. She also asked why he emailed after Ellie’s (Marnee Carpenter) funeral, if not to try and get in touch with Alfie. As it turned out, Joey had no idea Alfie existed until the 14-year-old reached out to him.

Joey emailed the Kingstons after Ellie’s funeral because he wanted to give them her iPod, who left the device with him when he last saw her. Joey met Ellie when they were both struggling with substance abuse, and he didn’t know her name for the first few months they were around each other; he only knew her as “Karaoke.” Eventually, they fell in love, but Ellie didn’t tell him she was pregnant. Joey claimed that he’s been sober since 2021, and he shared private details about Ellie’s history with opioid addiction and how her struggles started.

Joey consented to a DNA test, and all Matty needed was seven strands of his hair. He obliged, and the first twist of the premiere came with the results. Joey is, in fact, Alfie’s biological father. What Matty didn’t tell him was that she had his DNA tested for signs of drug use, and it confirmed that Joey isn’t sober. Now, Matty and Edwin have officially left “the before times” again; life will never be the same for them now that Alfie’s father is in their lives.

The other twist involved the Matty-Olympia feud. A sneaky scene in Olympia’s brownstone made viewers think that Matty didn’t find the Wellbrexa document locked in a safe in Olympia’s coat closet, but a call with Edwin was really a decoy. While Matty set off a distraction in another scene on another day, she was able to get into the safe and steal the hidden study. The episode ended with Matty contacting a New York Times reporter to reveal her evidence of corruption at Jacobson Moore.

What did you think of the Matlock Season 2 premiere twists? Let us know in the comments below.

Norman Lear’s Swan Song 'Boots' Shines Light on Military Homophobia

Norman Lear’s Swan Song ‘Boots’ Shines Light on Military Homophobia

by jummy84 October 13, 2025
written by jummy84

Norman Lear’s last credit before his death in 2023 was executive producer of “Boots,” an eight-part adaptation of Greg Cope’s memoir “The Pink Marine.” Based on the latter’s experiences as a closeted U.S. Marine Corp in an era when it was illegal for homosexuals to serve in the military, the Netflix original may be set in 1990, but in the wake of Donald Trump’s transgender ban and Pete Hegseth’s claims that gay recruits are part of a Marxist agenda, it proves that even as a 101-year-old, the sitcom pioneer possessed the uncanny ability to stay ahead of the societal curve.

Unlike Amazon’s underrated “Clean Slate” (the last Lear project to be completed in his lifetime), in which Laverne Cox’s trans woman is largely welcomed home with open arms, “Boots” is less warm-fuzzies and more cold-blooded aggression. The cast must have required a boxful of Chloraseptic by the shoot’s end, considering how a good third of the dialogue is shouted at intense decibel-shattering levels.

The view from Trilith Studios

Created by Andy Parker (“Tales of the City”), “Boots” centers on Cameron Cope (Miles Heizer), a sensitive gay teen cajoled into joining Marine boot camp by his supportive straight best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh) during a summer in which possibilities can seem both excitingly infinite and depressingly limiting. While the latter quickly takes to military life, motivated by the desire to please his overwhelmingly stern war veteran dad (the father figures here are uniformly awful), the former immediately starts ruing the day he signed up.

“Boots” gets plenty of comic mileage from this fish-out-of-water scenario. “We’ve only been here one day?,” a crestfallen Cameron queries following a baptism of fire in which he’s forced to shave his head, scavenge leftovers from the trash, and contend with superiors gleefully proclaiming they’ll “snap your head off and s**t down your neck.” In a narrative device which, while gimmicky, helps to signal his shift in personality, he also regularly converses with the slightly more effeminate, ever-disapproving alter-ego he spends 13 weeks desperately trying to mask.

It’s a shame this side doesn’t appear more often.

While it’s impressive that Heizer can still convincingly pass as an 18-year-old at age 31 — this isn’t a Ben Platt in “Dear Evan Hansen”-style embarrassment — his performance feels a little too muted to connect. Sure, we get why Cameron would repeatedly stifle his true self in front of the drill sergeants who bark the “other” F-word like it’s going out of fashion. Likewise with the emotionally stunted bros whose idea of entertainment is a toilet-based challenge dubbed the Brown Bomber (don’t ask). But even in the scenes with Ray, the only person he’s outed himself to, he’s something of a blank canvas. And when he does assume a little more agency later on, his actions — particularly his willingness to drink the Kool-Aid — make him difficult to root for.

Luckily, his fellow tryouts are a little more charismatic. Having spent his entire life in the shadow of Cody (Brandon Tyler Moore), the far more athletic twin brother primed for combat by their sadistic dad, John (Blake Burt) cuts a far more sympathetic figure. Late transfer Jones (Jack Cameron Kay) serves as the anti-Cameron, a confident almost-openly gay man who treats all the ultra-macho machinations with the contempt they deserve. Kieron Moore provides the necessary boo-hiss factor as Slovacek, a Czech-American meathead who accepts the comparisons to Ivan Drago as a badge of honor.

“Boots” also fails to convey exactly why Cameron would subject himself to the whims of such a toxic environment. Unlike his comrades, his family life is more dysfunctional than deeply troubled. Although mom Barbara (a sadly under-utilized Vera Farmiga) takes several days to realize her son hasn’t just popped out for some milk, she’s no Norma Bates-esque monster. She undoubtedly cares — see how she castigates the world’s most brightly-colored recruitment office for signing up someone so transparently ill-equipped (“These aren’t boys to you… they’re cannon fodder for when the country needs a good distraction”). While a heartfelt late-in-the-day monologue, the kind which may have graced an Emmy clip had her character been more fleshed out, expresses regret at how she’s handled raising such a sensitive soul.

In fact, the show’s messaging is muddled throughout, as if it’s never quite sure whether it’s serving as a Marines recruitment ad or an active deterrent. The sergeants act so relentlessly inhumane they make the “Full Metal Jacket” lot look as menacing as Pee-wee Herman. Yet there are occasions when the show appears to justify their extreme “man up” approach as a means to an end, as if all the wayward recruits needed was some racial and homophobic epithets to whip them into shape.

Furthermore, the one issue you’d expect to take front and center is often relegated to the background. Indeed, Cameron’s desires are barely addressed beyond a few furtive glances in the shower (anyone looking for a clandestine romance to ship should stick to “Heartstopper”). And other than ignoramus Slovacek, the recruits seem an unusually tolerant bunch with no qualms about leaning into the naturally homoerotic.

Instead of sticking the boot into military homophobia, the show initially seems determined to tiptoe around it. It’s only when delving deeper into the backstory of Sgt. Sullivan (Max Parker), a cartoonishly humorless ex-Recon who takes Cameron under his incredibly warped wing, that it starts exploring the hardships of an era when even the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy seemed enlightened.

It’s also here where “Boots” finally appears to find its stride, hitting just the right balance of sitcom-esque quips and emotional beats while also posing an arsenal of tough questions. Let’s hope that Netflix gives the show a chance to reveal the answers. The closing scene’s breaking news of the Iraq War certainly gives plenty of scope for a second season. And with a bit more spit and a bit less polish, it might even be fit enough to tie the laces of Lear’s finest.

All eight episodes of”Boots” Season 1 are now streaming on Netflix.

Hit Brit Comedy Set for Return

Hit Brit Comedy Set for Return

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

“The Inbetweeners,” the hit British teen comedy series that gave the world a foul-mouthed library of hilariously puerile quotes not to mention two hugely successful spin-off movies, looks set to make a comeback.

Banijay UK and Fudge Park Productions, the company founded in 2015 by show creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, have struck an agreement which they say “paves the way for the return of the hit comedy title.” In what guise “The Inbetweeners” will return and on what platform is as yet unknown, although Morris and Beesley suggested it would revolve around the original characters.

“Incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh friends),” they said in a statement.

Originally broadcast on E4 in the U.K. between 2008 and 2019, “The Inbetweeners” follows the misadventures of suburban teenager Will MacKenzie and his friends Simon Cooper, Neil Sutherland and Jay Cartwright at the fictional Rudge Park Comprehensive as they navigated school life, friendship, male bonding, lad culture and failed sexual encounters. It was originally conceived as a more realistic counterpoint to fellow hit Brit teen show “Skins,” showcasing an adolescence that is awkward and — as Morris suggested at the time — mostly “crap.”

Over three series “The Inbetweeners” set new ratings records for the channel and won multiple awards. Two hit movies followed, released in 2011 and 2014 respectively. The first set a record for the biggest opening weekend for a U.K. comedy at the time of its release with the sequel also breaking box office records.

Made by Bwark Productions, the original company founded by Morris and Beesley, which later sold to Zodiak Media (acquired by Banijay in 2016), the new deal unlocks what is described as “the rights and the potential to bring ‘The Inbetweeners’ back for new audiences across a range of platforms including film, tv and stage.”

“We are thrilled to announce this exciting partnership with Banijay who share our vision and ambition for one of the most iconic comedies in British history,” said Jonathan Blyth, managing director of Fudge Park. “This is a wonderful moment for fans, there are exciting conversations afoot and more news to follow.”

Patrick Holland, CEO Banijay UK added: “I have worked with Damon and Iain on a number of Fudge Park projects over the years and was delighted to pick up the conversation about the future of ‘The Inbetweeners’ with them. They have an infectious creative vision for the brand which will resonate with audience old and new so I can’t wait to get going.”

Banijay Rights are distributors of “The Inbetweeners.”

Since ending the series, Morris and Beesley have worked on numerous projects, both together and apart, and teamed on “The Festival” comedy film and later the BBC series ‘The First Team.” Beesley also created the series “White Gold,” starring many of “The Inbetweeners” cast, while Morris co-wrote sports comedy “Next Goal Wins” alongside Taika Waititi, was among the creators of Apple series “Time Bandits” and recently directed Netflix feature “My Oxford Year.”

Pam Bondi & Kristi Noem React To ‘SNL’ Parody

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

With two Saturday Night Live legends reuniting to give them the parody treatment this weekend, Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem have shared their reactions.

Following host Amy Poehler and special guest Tina Fey‘s cold-open impressions of the pair, they’ve since responded to the sketch, with one making light of the current militarization of Chicago and the other blaming Democrats for the government shutdown.

“Sec_Noem⁩, should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler!” wrote Attorney General Bondi on X, sharing a screenshot of the comedians posing, with Fey’s Noem toting an assault rifle.

Homeland Security Secretary Noem commented on the sketch in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “SNL is absolutely right — the Democrats’ shutdown does need to end!” she said.

Saturday’s cold open came after testimony took place on Capitol Hill this past week, with the former Sunshine State AG repeatedly rebuffing Democratic senators over citizen-accosting ICE and American troops in U.S. cities, Jeffrey Epstein, the indictment of ex-FBI director James Comey and the current shutdown. Or, as Poehler said in the opener, “the DOJ has many ongoing operations, and we’re moving like Kash Patel’s eyeballs very quickly in multiple directions at once.”

In one of the fastest-moving and leanest cold opens in many an SNL, Fey’s Noem exclaimed, after she tossed her machine gun aside: “I’m the rarest type of person in Washington D.C., a brunette that Donald Trump listens to.”

Harking back to Noem’s memoir referencing dog killing that likely saw ex-South Dakota governor dropped from Trump’s VP short list last year, tonight’s skit saw Fey declaring that the idea Democrats want the shutdown over “makes me laugh more than the end of Old Yeller. … Dogs don’t just get shot. Heroes shoot them.”

Tina Fey, Seth Meyers Make Weekend Update Cameo With Amy Poehler

by jummy84 October 12, 2025
written by jummy84

Amy Poehler served as a brief guest anchor on Saturday Night Live‘s “Weekend Update,” and she was joined by two familiar faces — and that’s not including Colin Jost and Michael Che.

After making a surprise cameo during the cold open, Tina Fey made a second appearance during the infamous SNL bit. But that’s not all: they were also joined by fellow alumni Seth Meyers.

The segment kicked off with Poehler criticizing one of Jost’s jokes, to which they decided to settle their beef with “a good old fashioned ‘Weekend Update’ joke off.” The crowd then erupted in applause as Fey and Meyers entered the shot.

“Oh, did somebody say ‘Weekend Update’ joke off?” Fey asked. The Good Hang podcast host quickly introduced the two, noting, “My first wife and second wife, everybody!”

Jost then went on to set up the joke, saying, “A woman in Tennessee broke a hospital record after giving birth to a 13 pound baby, and go!”

Poehler replied with her own shot at creating the best joke, noting, “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby which was so big he slapped the doctor on his ass.” Fey then took her shot, saying, “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby, and the new baby’s name is Ahhhhh!”

Meyers continued the joke off: “A woman gave birth to a 13 pound baby, damn, did she give birth to it, or did it drive out?” They traded several jokes with Jost and Che, until Poehler affirmed, “We won!”

Poehler, Fey and Meyers’ spent years working on SNL amongst one another. As a trio, they served five years together as cast members on the show. The Mean Girls star exited the series in 2006, leaving Poehler and the Late Night host with two additional years together before Poehler left in 2008.

Poehler returned to SNL for her third time as host on Saturday night, where she was joined by musical guest Role Model. He even brought out his own special cameo in Grammy Award-winner Charli XCX.

Earlier in the night, Poehler and Fey portrayed Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem, respectively, in the cold open.

The Parks and Recreation star utilized her opening monologue to commemorate the official 50th anniversary of SNL, noting that the first episode of the show debuted exactly 50 years on Oct. 11, 1975. However, she also took time to criticize AI actress Tilly Norwood who made headlines after her studio revealed they were searching for her own representation.

“I remember watching the show in the ’70s, sitting in my house in Burlington, Massachusetts thinking, ‘I wanna be an actress someday, at least until they invent an AI actress who’s funnier and willing to do full frontal,’” Poehler said.

She later added, “I know it can feel like times are very tough right now, and in some ways they always have been and they always will be, so I’ll just say this — if there’s a place that feels like home that you can go back to and laugh with your friends, consider yourself lucky, and I do. And to that little AI robot watching TV right now who wants to be on this stage someday, I say to you, ‘Beep boop beep boop.’ Which translates to, ‘You’ll never be able to write a joke, you stupid robot.’”

Lewis Cope and Katya Jones topped the leaderboard with an impressive score of 37 for their Paso Doble to The Plaza of Execution from The Mask of Zorro.

The top three was rounded out by Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, who were awarded 35 for their American Smooth to Sixteen Going on Seventeen from The Sound of Music.

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Karen Hauer’s Salsa to I Always Wanted a Brother from Mufasa: The Lion King earned them a respectable 32.

But it was a different story at the bottom of the leaderboard, with Ross King and Jowita Przystał’s Paso Doble to the theme from Thunderbirds Are Go earning just 19, despite encouraging remarks from the judges.

They were joined in the dance-off by Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon, who were ninth on the leaderboard with a score of 26 for their Foxtrot to The Way You Look Tonight from the movie Swing Time.

After a hard-fought battle, it was Ross King who was eliminated, with Craig, Motsi, and Anton all choosing to save Balvinder. Head judge Shirley also revealed that she would have saved Balvinder if her casting vote had been needed.

Speaking about his time on the show, a tearful Ross said: “I have loved every single minute of it. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing.

“I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

Ross then took a moment to thank his partner for all her support, describing her as “absolutely everything. She’s been a mentor, teacher, carer. I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you, judges, for all your remarks.”

And Jowita was equally gushing about Ross: “Thank you so much for all of your work, for everything you have done during rehearsals. We laugh a lot – but we also cried! Thank you so much, and I hope I’m going to be a little part of your life forever.”

The remaining thirteen couples will return to the dancefloor next week.
