‘Dancing With the Stars’ Ratings Momentum Keeps Growing

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Dancing With the Stars made a little bit of TV ratings history with its Oct. 21 episode.

The ABC show delivered 6.63 million viewers for its Wicked-themed night of dances, a season high and the largest same-day audience for DWTS since the start of the 2020-21 season. It also hit a season high among adults 18-49 with a 1.38 rating, which is also its best in several years.

With its week to week gains, Dancing With the Stars has now improved for five straight weeks in total viewers since its season premiere on Sept. 16. According to ABC research, it’s the first fall show in at least 34 years — dating back to the start of Nielsen’s regular measurement of total viewers in 1991 — to grow its audience for five weeks in a row after a season premiere. (DWTS also outdrew NBC’s solid NBA season opener in viewers.)

Dancing’s ABC lead-out, High Potential, is also having a strong season after its breakout rookie campaign. The Oct. 7 episode hit season highs in both total viewers (12.5 million) and adults 18-49 (2.31 rating) after a week of cross-platform viewing. About 35 percent of its viewer total (4.41 million) and more than two thirds of the 18-49 rating (1.6) came via streaming; seven days of linear viewing put the show at 8.09 million viewers and a 0.71 in the 18-49 demographic.

High Potential’s on-air ratings are running well ahead of the same point in season one: In Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings (i.e., without streaming), the show is averaging 7.62 million viewers, up 29 percent from 5.91 million a year ago.

Elsewhere, the Oct. 19 finale of Task on HBO and HBO Max matched its season high (set a week earlier) of 4 million cross-platform viewers over three days. The crime drama’s premiere has grown to 11.2 million viewers — adding 1.2 million people over the past week — and the season as a whole ranks among the fastest-growing inaugural seasons of any HBO series.

HBO’s comedy The Chair Company is also showing momentum. Its second episode drew 1.5 million viewers over three days, up from 1.4 million for its series premiere. The first episode has grown to 2.7 million viewers over 10 days, putting the show’s season average so far at 2.1 million. The Chair Company is running well ahead of recent HBO comedies Somebody Somewhere and The Rehearsal and in the neighborhood of The Righteous Gemstones (2.3 million viewers).

Brentford v Liverpool Premier League TV channel, live stream, kick-off time

Liverpool head to West London to face Brentford in the Premier League’s Saturday night clash.

The Reds ended their four-match losing run in style on Wednesday evening, thrashing Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1, and will hope to carry that confidence back into the top flight.

Big-money summer signing Alexander Isak is expected to be fit but Arne Slot may well stick with in-form Hugo Ekitike instead.

Having complained about Man Utd’s low block and direct approach in Sunday’s defeat at Anfield, Slot can expect more of the same at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees look to have found their feet under Keith Andrews and have been particularly impressive at home this term.

RadioTimes.com has rounded up everything you need to know about how to watch Brentford v Liverpool on TV and online.

From Season 1 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Season 9 in Denver, Colorado, Love Is Blind has fostered love in seven states (and one federal district) so far. However, we can’t help but notice that there are a few iconic locations we’d love to see that have yet to make the list.

As Love Is Blind Season 9 ends and the franchise heads into its tenth season, we thought it was about time we took matters into our own hands, letting Netflix know what our picks are for future Love Is Blind filming locations. Below, you can find all seven locations that came in at the top of our list.

Sasha and Esther Are the Best Couple

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

[Editor’s note: The following story contains spoilers for “Nobody Wants This” Season 2, including its finale.]

Of the many pleasures in Netflix‘s smash rom-com series “Nobody Wants This,” Joanne’s (Kristen Bell) ability to see beyond her own petty foibles and romantic mishaps does not often rank. But when something is so obvious and so wrong that even Joanne can’t ignore it? Now we’re cooking.

In the fifth episode of the second season of the series, such a moment arrives in the most benign of places: a bowling alley. As Joanne squints and stares at her boyfriend’s sister-in-law Esther (Jackie Tohn), we also squint, stare, and labor to see what’s different. “I mean, are we just, like, not gonna talk about this?,” a gobsmacked Joanne asks Esther, Noah (Adam Brody), and Sasha (Timothy Simons). “You got bangs!”

Don’t sniff: As Joanne immediately notes, such a snip signals a “major life transition.” And Esther? Oh, she’s going through it.

In its first season, the Erin Foster-created series was repeatedly called out for its depictions of Jewish women, including Esther who, at best, reads as abrasive. At worst? She’s a damaging stereotype: a demanding shrew, a gossip, and a meddler. And it didn’t help matters that she was pitted against a sassy blonde in the form of Joanne’s sister, Morgan (Justin Lupe), who enjoyed a flirty friendship with Esther’s husband Sasha that, quite frankly, seemed to take everyone by surprise.

That included Foster herself, who was quick to quash chatter about the two “loser siblings,” telling The Hollywood Reporter in October 2024 that, for the series’ second season, “We’re going to wrap up their weird ‘Is it romantic?’ thing. Because we want to see them together in Season 2, hanging out. We want to see Esther. I think we went down that road enough that now we’re going to pull back and reposition so we can have them all in scenes together without [Morgan] being, like, a full homewrecker.”

No, Morgan is not a “full homewrecker” this season — not even half a homewrecker! or a quarter of one! — and while audiences might initially miss the spark of Morgan and Sasha’s bond, it’s eventually Esther whose charm and sass prove to be the best foil for Sasha. (Of note: This season has added a pair of new showrunners in Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan.)

That doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and rainbows, though.

Esther has been softened this season, affording her a bit more grace as she and Sasha navigate some rough waters. And while the turns their relationship take are heartbreaking, there is something infinitely more satisfying about watching a long-term couple hash out their problems in a series that is built on the joy of watching a new couple try to work things out.

In the Season 2 opener, Joanne and Noah opt to throw their first joint dinner party, an extremely literal way to join their disparate friend groups and further meld their lives. Of course, some of those party guests already know each other, like Morgan, Sasha, and Esther, and the latter two bicker beforehand about how to best approach the Morgan-sized elephant in the room. Esther, so comfortable being in charge, even coaches Sasha on how to say hello to the woman.

And yet. And yet. When the trio descend on Noah’s house, they’re almost immediately pushed into a single room together to hash things out. Morgan is relaxed. Sasha hopes for a threesome. And Esther? She’s something else. Esther, so fired up in the first season, comes to release her anger. She’s just sad about the flirtation, she tells Sasha. But her sadness isn’t necessarily the result of her getting over it, but maybe fully getting around it.

No one can deny it: Morgan and Sasha enjoyed a fun and, yes, flirty relationship, “I’m fun!,” Esther yelps when Sasha dares to invoke the f-word when describing his bond with another woman in the first episode of this season. It’s maybe that element that hurts the most: that by thinking someone else is fun, Sasha is showing that he thinks Esther is not. Esther tries her damndest to prove her fun bonafides early in the season: dancing alone at that horrible dinner party, changing up her Purim costume (from her classic Queen Esther to a sexy cat get-up, all pleather and fake whiskers), and opting for those damn bangs.

By Valentine’s Day, Sasha is trying too: taking Esther to a dance class, after she mentioned all the things she can’t wait to do when they become empty nesters in just five years (dancing, moving to a cool neighborhood, sleeping in on Sundays). But as sweet as the gesture is, it doesn’t quite land. In the following episodes, that becomes a trend.

As Morgan and Sasha chat it up at Noah’s family’s Purim party, a sad-eyed Esther stands off to the side, quietly watching the interaction. (It’s a far cry from earlier this season, when Esther demanded that Sasha spend just two minutes in Morgan’s car with his fellow “loser sibling” when she shows up at their home begging for relationship advice.) When Joanne strides over and asks Esther if she wants her to break it up, she says no.

And when Joanne asks her if she’s mad, she says no again. She means it.

Toning down Esther’s abrasiveness certainly helps batter back criticisms of her character, but there’s also some compelling character work here: It’s not just Esther loosening up about Sasha and Morgan, it’s about her actually not caring. Jealousy might be a bad look, but at least it’s a passionate response. Esther’s apathy? That’s really scary.

Nobody Wants This. (L to R) Jackie Tohn as Esther, Timothy Simons as Sasha in episode 203 of Nobody Wants This. Cr. Erin Simkin/Netflix © 2025
‘Nobody Wants This’ERIN SIMKIN/NETFLIX

As the distance between Sasha and Esther begins to grow, we learn more about their romantic origin story, which further clarifies Esther’s reactions to Morgan. When Sasha attempts to pass off his bond with Morgan as being purely a friendship, Esther reminds him that they too were once “just friends” … until they weren’t. Esther isn’t using their beginnings as a weapon, but as a lesson.

We also learn that Esther and Sasha married quickly — the undercurrent being “before they were ready to” — when Esther got pregnant with their daughter Miri. While Noah and Joanne fight constantly about the ways in which they’ve acted in previous relationships (a similar problem befalls Morgan and Dr. Andy too), it seems that Sasha and Esther have no other basis for their quibbles — their marriage is their only real point of reference.

A last-ditch effort to bond them — as inspired by Sasha and Noah’s perpetually meddling mother Bina (Tovah Feldshuh) — results in a quick flirtation with having another kid. But Esther doesn’t want that. That’s when she gets the bangs. That’s how bad this all is. And when she tells Sasha that she doesn’t want to try for another kid? The pain she feels, that Sasha feels, that the audience feels? It stings.

Noah and Joanne’s problems are myriad, but they all stem from one central conflict — itself the very backbone of this entire series and Foster’s own experiences — regarding their religious affiliations. No one who has watched all two seasons and 20 episodes of “Nobody Wants This” could possibly labor under the delusion that, if Joanne simply converted to Judaism, everything would be perfect, but it sure would sew up some bigger problems right quick.

Sasha and Esther’s problems are both more nebulous and more painful. There’s something wrong here, but no one can quite name it. That doesn’t mean it’s not obvious. And that doesn’t mean it’s not threatening their relationship. By the time the season finale rolls around, and Esther and Sasha (major spoiler alert) break it off, or at least opt to take a break from their marriage, it feels like the only right course of action. It’s also the one that hurts the most.

Consider this: Noah and Joanne know who they are, and they’re trying to figure out the ways in which they can fit together. But by the end of Season 2, the compatibility question of an entirely different couple has taken center stage. Sasha and Esther don’t know who they are, and that makes it impossible for them to fit together. That’s real heartbreak.

All episodes of Season 2 of “Nobody Wants This” are now streaming on Netflix.

Bill Maher Calls White House “Just A Building” After Demo

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

As Donald Trump stirs up more national outrage over his demolition of the White House‘s East Wing, one of his favorite dinner guests is brushing off the controversy.

On Friday’s episode of Real Time, Bill Maher gave a flippant response when guest panelist Michael Steele mourned “the destruction of a symbol of this government” after the Trump administration had the historic structure torn down to make way for his ballroom.

“You’re talking about the White House? Oh, it’s a building, Mike. It’s a building.”

Steele argued that Trump “tore it down without accountability,” explaining, “It’s a building, maybe to you, but to a lot of Americans, it’s not. And I’m gonna tell you, as a young kid growing up in D.C., when my daddy took me by that building, it meant something to me as a 10-year-old. It meant something to me to grow up in a town where everybody in this country came and protested, and cried and screamed and laughed. So, that building, for me, was my childhood.”

Maher rebutted, “First of all, I agree. I said, he should have gotten the permits. But that’s how he does things. I agree. But it is just a building … that part of the building wasn’t always there. Presidents do change the buildings. Nixon put in a bowling alley, Obama made the tennis court a basketball court. I can’t get this mad about everything, Mike, I just can’t.”

The facade of the East Wing of the White House is demolished by work crews on Oct. 21, 2025 in Washington, DC.(Andrew Harnik/Getty Images)

“The symbolism is, he’s not leaving. That’s what bothers me about it. Who puts in a giant ballroom if you’re leaving?” he added. “OK, but that’s the issue, not the building.”

Panelist Kate Bedingfield argued that the destruction is an example of Trump’s behavior being “impulsive, reckless, driven by his own desire for self-agrandizement.”

“If this was the only thing he had done on that front, then I would give you, ‘it’s just a building,’” said Bedingfield. “But it’s not. It’s part of a manner of governing that’s tearing at some of the institutional foundations in this country, and that’s scary.”

Maher later had to swallow his own words after his writers apparently didn’t get the memo about his lack of concern for the White House demolition, joking on his ‘New Rules’ segment: “Now that President Trump is redecorating the White House, building a ballroom and hosting brunches at his new rose garden club…”

After an uncomfortable pause, Maher continued, “He has to start a new series called Queer Eye for the Authoritarian Guy.”

Photos taken on Thursday appeared to show that the Trump administration has not only torn down the East Wing—which was built in 1902 and renovated in 1942—but the East Colonnade, which included a movie theater that has hosted screenings for decades.

The White House has defended the project, noting that it is being privately funded and that many presidents of the past have made alterations. The area is being cleared to make way for Trump’s planned $300 million ballroom, with a list of corporate donors including Comcast and Amazon providing funds.

Sonequa Martin-Green Talks Danny and Lena’s Future as Partners, Possible Romance for Lena

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

What To Know

  • In the latest Boston Blue episode, Danny Reagan decides to stay and work in Boston to be closer to his son Sean, solidifying his commitment after Sean’s hospitalization in the series premiere.
  • Sonequa Martin-Green teases how it will go for Danny and Lena now that he’s staying.
  • The star also shares the romance she’s hoping to see onscreen going forward.

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Boston Blue Season 1 Episode 2 “Teammates.”]

Even though Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) is still on loan from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department, if there were any doubts that Danny wouldn’t stay in Boston to hang with his son Sean (Mika Amonsen), that ended in this week’s episode. Seeing Sean comatose in the Boston Blue series premiere had really helped seal the deal. Not that Danny will ever lose his love of the Mets as he says to his son leaving the actual Fenway Park after a game: “It’s your first day on the job and the Mets win over the stinking Red Sox!” (In the episode, he is forced into a Red Sox shirt.)

There was more rivalry to come when Danny tries to convince Sean to be dominant in his partnership with fellow rookie Jonah Silver (Marcus Scribner), who’s also the younger brother of Det. Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), his temporary partner, while Lena makes sure that Jonah “won’t get stuck in the sidekick zone.” Naturally, they each try to be Batman and not Robin, which causes a bit of friction like who chooses the music in the squad car, but also Jonah not being in position when they tried to catch a perp. As this is a Blue Bloods spinoff, they are fast friends at the episode’s end.

Though there will be tussles along the way no doubt, Danny and Lena, a.k.a. Brooklyn and Beantown, bonded almost immediately. Martin-Green says in the video above, “Apparently there’s a crazy feud between New York and Boston. I didn’t know! It’s fascinating that you have this Bostonian who played a New Yorker, going back to Boston and pretending he didn’t like Boston despite it’s where he’s from. It’s funny and Donnie laughs about it, too.”

The main storyline in the second episode brought Danny and Lena even closer, when the two detectives are pulled into the investigation of murdered whistleblower Winston Ballard, who DA Mae Silver (Gloria Reuben) was working with. The question was what happened to the whistleblower’s protective detail. The answer: One left to take care of a sick kid and the other was paid off by the eventual killer.

Various criminals wanted to prevent Ballard’s testimony about a Ponzi scheme but there were more deaths to come when the wealthy gangster who ran the scheme with Ballard got shot through a window right in front of Danny and Lena, ”the second person who died in my arms this week,” as Danny put it, not happily. In the end, a victim of the gangster and whistleblower’s who lost all his money killed them while his sister, Ballard’s widow, Naomi, was arrested as an accessory to murder.

The episode ends with Danny’s decision to try living and working in Boston. As he tells Sean, he and his girlfriend, Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez), will figure things out, “and the family understands.”

Does that mean that Danny and Lena are permanent partners going forward? Martin-Green carefully says, with a laugh, “Danny Reagan transition from the NYPD to the BPD is a very interesting storypoint, and we will be exploring it.”

There might be another interesting romance in the future, says Martin-Green. Her real-life husband, Kenric Green, plays DA Silver’s chief of staff, introduced in this episode. The couple, says the actress, both tease maybe their characters should get together. “We will see them together in Episode 8,” she shares.
