The performers for the 2025 Thanksgiving Day NFL halftime shows have been announced. Post Malone, Jack White and Lil Jon are set to take the stage during the three games on Thursday (Nov. 27).

Malone will perform at the Dallas Cowboys-Kansas City Chiefs game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. White will headline the Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers matchup at Ford Field in Detroit, while Lil Jon will appear at the Baltimore Ravens-Cincinnati Bengals game at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Post Malone shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Sunday (Nov. 16), featuring a video of himself in Cowboys gear driving a horned semi truck into Dallas. “Our big secret’s out! The one and only @postmalone will ring in The Salvation Army’s famous #RedKettleKickoff at the Dallas Cowboys halftime show this Thanksgiving on CBS. Let’s make this a Texas-sized kickoff!” the caption read.

Malone added in the comments, “how bout them cowboys?!!”

In a separate statement, the singer added, “I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years. It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”

Detroit native Jack White also announced his performance through Instagram on Sunday, sharing a post showing a blue vinyl album being printed, with the record’s circular label highlighting his halftime show appearance. “Hot off the press,” the caption read.

White’s announcement follows news that fellow Detroit artist Eminem, along with his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg, signed a multi-year partnership with the Lions to executive-produce the team’s Thanksgiving halftime show. Slim Shady and Rosenberg will consult on all aspects of the halftime show’s production and presentation, including talent selection, from 2025 through 2027.

Earlier in the week, it was confirmed that Lil Jon will perform during the Bengals-Ravens Thanksgiving night game. The rapper will also appear at the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City earlier that day.

Yungblud Cancels Remainder of 2025 Tour Due to Medical Concerns

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Yungblud has canceled the remainder of his tour dates scheduled in 2025 due to medical concerns. In a statement posted to Instagram over the weekend, the young rocker shared that, “This week when I got home off the road, and went to have some tests done (like I usually do) and my voice and blood tests have raised some concerns. I have been ordered by my doctor to take a break from touring until the end of the year.”

“It is in my nature to run and run until I run myself to the ground without giving a fuck about anything apart from the music and you guys but this time I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around,” Yungblud added. “I don’t want to do any lasting damage to myself, we are on a journey that I want to last forever. I understand that some of you will be so frustrated. I just want you to know that this is so hard for me to do but I promise I will make it up to you.”

As a result, Yungblud has canceled upcoming dates scheduled in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Washington, Mexico City, and Latin America.

The good news is Yungblud is due back on the road next year: his massive “IDOLS Tour” will hit North America next spring (tickets here), and he says he’s also planning to announce his own headlining shows in Mexico and Latin America.

Olivia Dean Makes SNL Debut, Dijon Announced For Next Month

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

TikTok-viral soft-pop singer Olivia Dean made her debut on SNL last night in an episode hosted by fellow first-timer Glen Powell. Her sophomore album The Art Of Loving arrived in September, and she sang two songs from it, “Man I Need” and “Let Alone The One You Love.”

The episode was light on the music, but Powell did sing in the pre-taped music video “I Miss My Ex’s Dad” alongside Tommy Brennan and Ben Marshall (Powell played the father in question). Other notable moments included a surprise return from former cast member Will Forte in some new MacGruber pre-tapes poking fun at the Epstein files, during which Powell and Chloe Fineman played MacGruber’s partners.

In more SNL news, the show just announced details for their December 6 episode. Dijon will make his musical guest debut with returning host Melissa McCarthy. See highlights from last night below.

Smerz: Big city life EDITS Album Review

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Those silhouettes on the cover of Big city life? That’s you and me! Smerz’s latest and best album feels like it was made for projection. It’s not designed to be relatable, that most cursed descriptor of meaningless contemporary pop, but to be lived in, tailored to your body, snagged on the pedal of a Lime bike. In that sense, it lends itself fabulously to a remix album, and so arrives Big city life EDITS, an album of sinuous reinterpretations that highlights the endless plasticity of Catharina Stoltenberg and Henriette Motzfeldt’s voices and songwriting.

Across these 14 reworks, 18 acts write artful Smerz fan fiction: For the most part, the duo’s voices are left intact, but layered atop sounds far removed from the original record’s arch, deconstructed take on dance music. On Molina’s discomfitingly sexy version of “Roll the dice,” Stoltenberg and Motzfeldt seem to have taken a wrong turn off the high street and into one of those crusty dive bars that only plays hypnotic European dub; the song’s lyrics, so embodied and affirmative on the original, suddenly feel ominous, like you’re being lured somewhere you’re not supposed to be. The arty electroclash duo New York turn “Imagine this” into something that might have fit on After Dark 2, striking a perfect balance between high kitsch and high glamour.

If it can sometimes feel like “alternative” pop is simply real pop music that’s kind of unfinished—like, music that uses avant-garde texture or structure to hide a dearth of coherent ideas—Big city life EDITS proves that Stoltenberg and Motzfeldt’s songs have strong bones. The Copenhagen singer Fine plays “A thousand lies” straight: It’s just her voice atop a loose, jazz-folk arrangement, and it sounds like a lost cut from the Norman Fucking Rockwell! sessions. It’s not the only song on EDITS that conjures the spirit of Lana straight from the Bayou: On a rework of “You got time and I got money,” by Vilhelm Strange, Villads Tyrrestrup, Tobias Hansen, Zack Sekoff, and Jakob Littauer—credited here as VVTZJ—Clairo is a dead ringer for the singer circa Ultraviolence, warbling over an impossibly luxurious soul arrangement like a lounge singer playing her last show.

Yungblud cancels all remaining 2025 dates on doctor’s orders: “My heart is broken”

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Yungblud has been forced to cancel all of his remaining 2025 shows on doctor’s orders, a decision he has described as heartbreaking.

The singer has been on the road for much of the year as part of his ‘Idols’ world tour and he recently wrapped up a run of shows in North America and Europe. He was due to play a final few shows in the US and South America, but those have now been cancelled.

Tickets for gigs in Philadelphia, Cleveland and Washington DC will be refunded, as will shows in Mexico City and Latin America. Yungblud has also promised “a gift” to fans who had bought tickets for the affected shows.

Writing on Instagram Stories today (November 16), Yungblud has said: “This week when I got home off the road, and went to have some tests done (like I usually do) and my voice and blood tests have raised some concerns.”

I hope you get well soon. Love you, Dom 🖤 @yungblud #yungblud pic.twitter.com/ymv4b334RB

— VannaT28 ❯❯❯❯ (@VannaT28) November 15, 2025

“It is in my nature to run and run until I run myself to the ground without giving a fuck about anything apart from the music and you guys but this time I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around.”

“My heart is broken,” he added. “I don’t want to do any lasting damage to myself, we are on a journey that I want to last forever. I understand that some of you will be frustrated. I just want you to know that this is so hard for me to do but I promise I will make it up to you.”

Yungblud is due to play a run of UK and Ireland arena dates in April, a tour that he recently extended due to outstanding demand. You can see the complete list of dates here and find any remaining tickets here.

Before that, he also has a string of Australian shows booked for January, and will play at Lollapalooza India on January 24.

Yungblud released the first part of his latest album ‘Idols’ in June, and it hit Number One in the UK. He told NME of the album days before the first part’s release: “Part one is about the reclamation of yourself: ‘All you are is a self-fulfilling prophecy / A product of your own temptation.’

“Part two is the dark and downward spiral to the inevitable realisation that I’m not going to be here forever – who do I want to spend my life with? Mortality. Part two plummets you back down to earth, and it’s a little bit more cynical.”

‘Idols’ has now been nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Album, while ‘Zombie’ is up for Best Rock Song. The live version of ‘Changes’ that he performed at Black Sabbath’s farewell ‘Back To The Beginning’ show is also nominated for Best Rock Performance.

Yungblud is also set to soundtrack ‘Trans Is Human’, a new trans-focused photography exhibition at Outernet in London tomorrow (November 17).

His EP with Aerosmith, ‘One More Time’, is also set to come out on Friday (November 21). They released a single from the EP, ‘My Only Angel’, on September 19, marking the hard rock icons’ first original release in over 12 years. The two acts worked together earlier that month to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV VMAs.

Yungblud Cancels Remainder of 2025 Tour Dates After Health Check

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

“I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around,” singer says

Yungblud has canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates on advice from his doctors, who ordered him “to take a break from touring until the end of the year.”

The singer has spent much of the year on his Idols World Tour, which continues into 2026 with another North American leg. However, Yungblud — who recently wrapped up a European run of concerts — had another handful of U.S. shows and gigs in Latin America on tap before the end of the year.

“This week when I got home off the road, and went to have some tests done (like I usually do) and my voice and blood tests have raised some concerns,” Yungblud wrote on social media to fans, adding that his doctor then ordered him off the road.

“It is in my nature to run and run until I run myself to the ground without giving a fuck about anything apart from the music and you guys but this time I’ve been told I have to take it seriously and I can’t fuck around,” Yungblud said.

The canceled shows include November gigs Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Washington, as well as planned gigs in Mexico City and Latin America. All tickets will be refunded for those shows, Yungblud said, promising to send “a gift” to all fans impacted by the cancellations.

As of now, Yungblud is set to return to his Idols Tour in January 2026 for an Australian leg, followed by a U.K. run in April 2026 and then an extensive North American tour next summer.

Timberwolves Bring Back Prince-Inspired Jerseys

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

The Minnesota Timberwolves brought back their Prince-inspired City Edition uniforms for the first time this season during Saturday’s (Nov. 15) home game against the Denver Nuggets, debuting a matching on-court design and arena programming that paid tribute to the Minneapolis icon.

The return of the purple uniforms also marked the first time the team has paired the jerseys with a Purple Rain-inspired decal at center court inside Target Center.

The Wolves originally introduced the Prince-themed look during the 2018–19 NBA season in collaboration with the Prince Estate and Nike, a partnership that returned for the 2025–26 campaign. The updated uniforms feature a paisley pattern over the right shoulder in reference to Prince’s Purple Rain jacket, while the “MPLS” lettering on the shorts nods to the artist’s close ties to the Minneapolis sound and the Twin Cities community.

Inside the arena, fans were greeted with a full Prince-themed presentation. “When Doves Cry” played ahead of tip-off, arena lighting cues shifted to purple, and the Wolves incorporated additional visual tributes throughout the home-game experience. The team also rolled out a Purple Rain-inspired motif on the court, expanding the tribute beyond uniforms and into event production for the first time.

The organization previously announced that the Prince-inspired uniforms would appear seven times during the season, with Saturday’s matchup against Denver marking their first outing. Additional theme nights will follow throughout the regular season, including a December home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Over his career, Prince earned five No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “When Doves Cry,” “Kiss,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and “Cream.” His landmark 1984 album Purple Rain spent 24 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while 19 of his albums have reached the top 10. Following his passing in 2016, Prince became the first artist to simultaneously occupy the entire top 10 of the Billboard Digital Songs chart.

"Bruised Sky” Is Poppy at Her Most Metal

“Bruised Sky” Is Poppy at Her Most Metal

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Heavy Song of the Week is a feature on Heavy Consequence breaking down the top metal, punk, and hard rock tracks you need to hear every Friday. This week, we highlight Poppy’s “Bruised Sky.”

Poppy is a chameleon when it comes to genre, but lately, she’s embedded herself with alt-metal royalty, collaborating with the likes of Amy Lee in the studio and with Linkin Park onstage.

It would seem some of that hangtime has rubbed off on her, as she goes full metal on her latest single “Bruised Sky.” Her right-hand studio collaborator, Jordan Fish, also brings his past work with Bring Me the Horizon to the table here, given the overall metalcore treatment of the production.

Related Video

The heavy guitars and general sonic aggression lets Poppy throw her voice in all directions, exercising both her highest clean register as well as death growls. She wears this style well, even if she’s only dabbled in it thus far. It begs the question: How much more metal does her upcoming album Empty Hands have in store?

Honorable Mentions:

Black Swan – “If I Was King”

Black Swan are a veteran supergroup featuring Headbangers Ball heroes Robin McAuley (McAuley Schenker Group), Reb Beach (Winger, Whitesnake), Jeff Pilson (Foreigner, The End Machine, ex-Dokken), and Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Mr. Big). On the group’s new single “If I Was King,” McAuley’s recognizable pipes are right out front, with a just a bit of aged grit to his hyper melodic delivery. Meanwhile, Beach supplies a robust guitar arrangement that keeps the track from stagnating. Fans of any of the involved band members’ other projects — particularly McAuley Schenker Group and Winger — will enjoy this immensely.

Flatwounds – “Vilify”

Flatwounds is a great name for a heavy rock band, because you gotta have flatwound strings on your bass if you’re gonna pull off divebomb riffs and slide those fingers. Otherwise you’re asking for blisters. Anyways, this choice nomenclature been claimed by Flatwounds, an Albany-based grunge revival group with a classic Alice in Chains vibe thanks to the gravelly voice of frontman Colin O’Hare. The band’s fat skronky riffs are also a blast from the past, filled with pure groove — riffs that sounds like they’re fun to play on a bass with flatwounds. Their latest single “Vilify” is excellent. We’re keeping an eye on these guys.

Raven – “Metal Militia”

When the Metallica Kill ‘Em All tribute album was announced, we circled this cover by Raven. Among the numerous NWOBHM acts featured on the comp, Raven hold particular significance in that Metallica’s first tour was supporting Raven on the “Kill ‘Em All for One” tour in 1983. The British metal pioneers are known for their many anthems about rock and metal, making “Metal Militia” really the only correct choice for them, as far as covering something from Kill ‘Em All. The Gallagher brothers’ signature craziness comes across great here too, with John letting out his cartoonishly high-pitch falsetto for the chorus.

KISS, Not Yet Holograms, Reunite For First Show Since Farewell Tour

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Two years ago, KISS’ final farewell tour ended at New York’s Madison Square Garden, but it was understood that they were leaving the door open for one-offs and residencies, in addition to the promised hologram era that begins in 2027. This past March, the band announced unmasked, makeup-free live shows, as part of a three-day event called KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas, and the first went down last night.

Friday was the acoustic set. They handed out electric candles and opened with a moment of silence for Ace Frehley who passed away last month, and had other tributes for the late guitarist. The group performed “Hard Luck Woman” and “Hide Your Heart” for the first time since 2019.

A KISS subredditor (though unclear if an attendee) was unimpressed with that acoustic set: “Talk about phoning it in. Same boring stuff they always do at these acoustic type shows that they’ve done for years. Hide Your Heart is the only thing halfway approaching something they haven’t done to death at these kind of events.”

The electric set is tonight, and there are also panels and other bands. The $4909-tier tickets (which include hotel stay) all sold out, but it’s unclear if anyone will get to be Gene Simmons’ roadie.

Watch “A World Without Heroes,” KISS’ 1981 ballad co-written by Lou Reed, performed by the reunited final lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer, and Eric Singer below.

Aesop Rock: Float Album Review

Aesop Rock: Float Album Review

by jummy84 November 16, 2025
written by jummy84

Around that time, Doseone, the cLOUDDEAD member who guested on Appleseed’s final track, “Odessa,” had become an A&R for Mush, a small Cincinnati studio-turned-label that had put out a number of cLOUDDEAD 10-inches. In 1999, Dose approached Aes and brokered a one-album deal, the details of which were outlined in a simple three-page contract. Aes had always been skeptical of labels; why sign anything that would probably never pay the bills and ultimately complicate the fun of making music? But, given the homespun success of his first two projects, the chance to have someone else cover the cost of full-color artwork was persuasive. “I had about 20 songs,” he said in a 2007 interview with Caught in the Crossfire. “I thought, ‘Yeah, let’s just put them all on there,’ and that was the first official record.”

There’s a ramshackle, lo-fi charm to Float that feels immediate, as if each new thought that crossed through Aes’ mind instantly breaks containment. He and Blockhead, who produced about half the record (Aes himself provided the other half), recorded the album on a Roland VS-880 digital workstation, a budget-friendly studio-in-a-box that’s nonetheless a slight step up from a cassette four-track. Both Aes and Blockhead (and Omega One, who contributed the beat for “Skip Town”) composed on ASR-10 samplers but didn’t separate the stems of their beats, bouncing everything as a stereo mix. Aes tracked his vocals without a stand, gripping a Shure SM-58, the stalwart, affordable mic found at every live venue, in his fist. There’s a tinny resonance coating Aes’ rich voice, and plosives abound, suggesting loose, shambling sessions shot through with a frantic, wide-eyed energy.

It’s an overwhelming album. Aes fills nearly every space with words, emphasizing specific lines with infinite layers of his voice and ad-libs zipping around in the background like agitated bees. There’s almost no breathing room, save for Blockhead’s three instrumental interludes, but even those—especially “Dinner With Blockhead,” a somersaulting bandoneon loop perforated by tear-the-club-up drums—are packed to the gills.
