Orlando Bloom says he would “hate to see” another actor play Legolas in new ‘Lord Of The Rings’ film

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Orlando Bloom has said he would “hate” to see another actor play Legolas in The Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum.

The upcoming film was provisionally announced in 2023, with Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum in the original Peter Jackson film trilogy, returning to the role and also directing the film.

In May, Deadline reported that the film would be released into cinemas on December 17, 2027, following on in the mid-to-late December release window that proved successful for the Jackson trilogy from 2001 to 2003 and his subsequent Hobbit trilogy from 2012 to 2014.

Further casting has not been confirmed, although Sir Ian McKellen said last year that he would consider returning to the role of Gandalf for the film if he is “still alive” when it is being made.

Now, Orlando Bloom, who played Legolas in the original trilogy as well as The Desolation Of Smaug (2013) and The Battle Of The Five Armies (2014), has had his say on the future of his character.

Appearing on the Today show, he said he had “not heard a peep” about who would be playing Legolas in The Hunt For Gollum, adding: “It’s such an amazing part. I’m so grateful to have been a part of those movies. But I haven’t heard.”

“Listen, I’d hate to see anyone else play Legolas, you know what I mean?” he added. “What are they going to do? Are they going to put somebody else in as Legolas? With AI, they can do anything these days!”

Viggo Mortensen has also weighed in on the possibility of returning to the franchise to reprise his role of Aragorn. “I like playing that character. I learned a lot playing the character. I enjoyed it a lot. I would only do it if I was right for it in terms of, you know, the age I am now and so forth. It would be silly to do it otherwise,” he said.

Meanwhile, the prequel TV series The Rings Of Power will definitely return for a third season, Amazon Prime Video confirmed earlier this year. The second season ran from August to October 2024, with new episodes expected to start shooting imminently.

Eladio Carrión: Barclays Center Concert Review

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Puerto Rican rapper Eladio Carrión wasn’t holding back during last night’s stop of his DON KBRN tour at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. While it isn’t the first time the rapper has performed in New York City, this was his first official arena show in the city  — and he wanted it to be bigger than ever.

Rising act Danny Towers warmed the crowd up with a medley of songs from his latest album Sinners Club which includes collaborations with Carrión on the tracks “Crush” and “ASAP.” Soon, Carrión stepped onto the stage donning a silk suit with an embroidered red dragon on the back, sidling up next to dancers who played the part of mafioso goons as they began the show with a street fight right out of a movie.

During the two-hour performance, Carrión seemed genuinely excited to be on stage and connecting with fans. From dancing and hyping up the crowd, The singer carried an undeniable confidence and warmth which only encouraged the crowd to have a good time — even when he performed some of his more scrappier hits such as “Invencible,” “Ohtani,” “H.I.M,” “Broly,” and “Vetements.”

This was also a bigger production for Carrión,f rom stage design to wardrobe styling to choreography. The back-up dancers captured interpretive elements of Carrión’s discography and demonstrated their skill and strength while performing gravity-defying breakdancing numbers and theatrical battle scenes. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling screens, the retro-inspired Japanese iconography was cohesive throughout the show. Neon-pink, edgy graphics made Carrion appear as though he were on the cover of an underground Japanese magazine.

As the pyrotechnics, laser, and neon lighting brightened the arena, Carrión welcomed a string of guests and close friends to the stage, starting with Rich The Kid and Ty Dolla $ign, who performed their single “Carnival.” Throughout his set, Carrión revisited tracks from his earliest projects such as Sauce Boyz, Sen2 Kbrn Vol. 1, and Monaraca, all which dropped at the height of the pandemic and helped put his name on the map. During the second act, fellow Puerto Rican singers Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavares performed a medley, including “Conexion” and “SI SI SI SI.” Fans were given one last surprise as Young Miko joined the rapper for their joint track “AMG.” She even launched into one of her own hits, “Wassup,” before sharing a hug with Carrión.

Carrión came into the Latin trap scene during its peak era of the late 2010s. While several of the colleagues he came up with have gone on to experiment with different sounds, and a new crop of rappers, like Dei V, Omar Courtz, and VEI HABACHE, infuse the genre with their own unique twists, Carrión offers fans a reliable continuity in sound that remains fresh and authentic. During sentimental moments of the show, Carrión performed more emotionally vulnerable tracks “Paz Mental,” and thanked fans for following his journey since his Sauce Boyz (2020) days. He also took a moment to shout out his mother and father who were in attendance. All in all, it was Carrión at his purest.

Selena Gomez Puts ‘Revival’ on Vinyl for 10-Year Anniversary

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

Selena Gomez is reviving Revival on vinyl for the album’s 10-year anniversary.

Released on Oct. 9, 2015, Revival reigned for a week No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its debut, and spent a total of 69 weeks on the chart. Singles “Good for You”, “Same Old Love” and “Hands to Myself” were top 10 hits for Gomez on the Hot 100.

A Revival 10-year anniversary deluxe vinyl edition is now available to pre-order exclusively on Gomez’s webstore, where it’s pictured in maroon and shown with a photo insert of the pop star. The release features a new album cover.

“This is my Revival,” Gomez wrote in a Friday (Sept. 5) announcement on X. “Pre-order the Revival 10-Year Anniversary Deluxe Vinyl now. This is the very first time the Revival Deluxe album is available on vinyl and I’m so excited for you to have the entire collection.”

The new Revival vinyl has a total of 14 tracks. Compared to the album’s standard 11-song track list, the LP adds “Me & My Girls,” “Nobody” and “Perfect” — all of which were originally included on the deluxe edition of Revival released in North America. (Additional Revival-era bonus tracks “Outta My Hands (Loco)” and “Cologne,” found on a Target edition of the album, are not on this release.)

Pre-orders for the Revival deluxe vinyl are expected to ship on Oct. 3, which happens to be the same day Gomez’s friend Taylor Swift releases The Life of a Showgirl.

The announcement for the anniversary release comes while Gomez is busy getting ready to marry Benny Blanco. The bride-to-be shared snapshots from her bachelorette party ahead of the couple’s wedding.

West Post Graduates Cancel Ceremony Honoring Tom Hanks

West Post Graduates Cancel Ceremony Honoring Tom Hanks

by jummy84 September 7, 2025
written by jummy84

The West Point Association of Graduates has canceled a ceremony that was set to honor Tom Hanks with the Sylvanus Thayer Award, which recognizes an “outstanding citizen” whose career exemplifies the U.S Military Academy’s ideals of “Duty, Honor, Country,” according to The Washington Post.

In an email to faculty, Retired Army Col. Mark Bieger, president and chief executive officer of the Association, explained the decision as a desire to “focus on [the Academy’s] core mission of preparing cadets to lead, fight, and win as officers in the world’s most lethal force.”

Hanks was announced as the 2025 recipient of the award in June. At the time, the Association highlighted the actor’s numerous portrayals of military figures in films such as Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, and Greyhound; his work as a producer on acclaimed series like Band of Brothers and The Pacific; and his long-standing advocacy for veterans, including leading a fundraising campaign for the National WWII Museum in New Orleans.

“Tom Hanks has done more for the positive portrayal of the American service member, more for the care of the American veteran, their caregivers and their families, and more for the American space program and all branches of government than many other Americans,” Robert McDonald, former Secretary of Veterans Affairs and the Association’s board chairman, said when Hanks was first announced as the honoree.

The West Point Association of Graduates’ cancelation of the award comes amid a wave of controversial changes the Trump Administration has made to the US military. Since returning to office, Donald Trump has fired numerous top leaders, ordered reviews of the curriculums at academies like West Point, and just this week, he renamed the Department of Defense as the Department of War.

His son, Donald Trump Jr., celebrated the decision to strip Hanks of the award, writing on X: “Great to see [Secretary of War Pete Hegseth] holding the line for @realdonaldtrump to make the military strong again. West Point should be focused on training the next generation of war fighters, not celebrating woke leftwing celebrities with awards!!!”

Dak Prescott Says He "Wasn't Trying To Spit" On Jalen Carter

Dak Prescott Says He “Wasn’t Trying To Spit” On Jalen Carter

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Thursday night’s (Sept. 4) season opener between the Cowboys and Eagles quickly became less about the scoreboard and more about a shocking spitting incident.

Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected after spitting toward Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, apparently in response to Prescott sending saliva in his direction first. The act occurred right in front of an official, making Carter’s ejection an immediate call.

Video from the incident, however, shows that the confrontation may have been sparked by Prescott himself, who seemingly — though possibly unintentionally — spit in Carter’s direction during the opening huddle. See footage below.

In his postgame press conference, Prescott was candid about the routine nature of his spitting habits, saying he spits “a thousand times throughout the game.” He explained that he wasn’t aiming at anyone directly. “I wasn’t going to spit on my lineman and I just spit ahead,” he said, adding that Carter’s reaction was “insulting” because he would never deliberately spit on someone.

Video shows Prescott moving toward Carter while explaining himself, just before Carter retaliated. “I actually said words like, ‘Why the hell would I–’ excuse me, probably even more colorful — ‘what would I need to spit on you for?’ he recounted. “He just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything.”

Despite the incident, Prescott emphasized that he holds no ill will toward Carter.

“I’m pretty sure he knows that I didn’t try to spit on him or wasn’t even aiming to spit on him,” he continued, adding that he doesn’t wish for anyone to be ejected. “I know how excited each and every one of us are right to kick off the season and the season opener, and hell of a player like that doesn’t even get a chance in the first play. Unfortunate circumstances,” he added.

Carter, for his part, admitted the incident was a mistake. Following the 24-20 Eagles win, he promised it “won’t happen again.”

See the spitting exchange above.

We know what love is

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Foreigner have offered their services to be the wedding band for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.

Last week (August 26), the couple, who have been in a relationship since 2023, announced their engagement. They shared a series of photographs showing the singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end embracing in a garden.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned the post, which also included a close-up shot of her engagement ring.

Now, classic rock band Foreigner have put themselves forward as the potential wedding band for the ceremony, writing an open letter to the couple and referencing their best-known song in their pitch.

“Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, we know what love is,” they wrote. “We spent 40 years figuring it out… And now you guys have too. Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band. Best wishes, Foreigner.”

Kelce’s father Ed also revealed that Travis had made the proposal almost two weeks before the public announcement, at a garden in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. New details about their relationship are reportedly set to be revealed in a new documentary about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kelce recently discussed their relationship and his admiration for Swift’s epic, three-hour ‘Eras Tour’ shows. “I hadn’t experienced somebody in the same shoes as me, having a partner who understands the scrutiny, the ups and downs of being in front of millions,” he said. “That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows.”

Swift has attended the last two Super Bowls to support Kelce, helping the 2024 game become the most-watched broadcast in US TV history since the 1969 moon landing. This year, her reaction to being booed by Eagles fans at the event went viral.

The news of the engagement came shortly after Swift announced her 12th album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’, during her first-ever appearance on the New Heights podcast, hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason.

‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ was co-produced by Max Martin and Shellback, alongside Swift herself. The pop star has shared the full tracklist for the album, which boasts a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter on the title track.

Swift has described the follow-up to last year’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ as “the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time”. The project will focus on “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life” during the record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’.

Speculation is also swirling that Swift may headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show. When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was asked about the possibility, he replied: “Maybe”.

Morrissey Email Soliciting Offers for Rights to Smiths Songs Shut Down

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Morrissey shut down an email to solicit offers for his rights to the Smiths’ music and other connected intellectual property, according to a post on his official website.

“The ‘eaves’ business email address has been switched off due to the colossal response to Morrissey’s announcement of his wish to pass his ‘Smiths’ interests over to an investor,” the post from Friday stated. “Although Morrisseys’ love for the songs of the Smiths era will never waver, he is tired of the disagreeable and vexatious characters involved in ‘The Smiths’ business.”

The post continued: “After thirty-eight years of insults and abuse, Morrissey has had enough. All (or most) of the ‘eaves’ emails will be answered in time.”

Last week, Morrissey Central and the singer’s official Instagram accounts posted an announcement that he was selling the entirety of his business interests in the Smiths. It is unclear if Morrissey created the posts. Reps for Morrissey did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s requests for comment. The posts, titled “A Soul for Sale,” included a quote attributed to the former Smiths frontman that said he was “burnt out by any and all connections” with his former bandmates, and wanted to “live disassociated” from them. He cited that it led him to put his rights to Smiths intellectual property up for sale. The announcement included an email address, which bounced back when Rolling Stone reached out for comment.

Up for grabs, per the announcement, are the “full and exclusive rights” to the name “The Smiths” created by Morrissey, all of the Smiths’ artwork created by him, All Smiths merchandising rights, all Smiths songs lyrically and musically, all synchronization rights, all Smiths recordings, and all contractual rights for Smiths publishing.

“I am burnt out by any and all connections to [Former Smiths members Johnny] Marr, [Andy] Rourke, [Mike] Joyce. I have had enough of malicious associations. With my entire life I have paid my rightful dues to these songs and these images,” he said per the quote attributed to him. “I would now like to live disassociated from those who wish me nothing but ill-will and destruction, and this is the only resolution.”

Editor’s picks

Morrissey continued: “The songs are me – they are no one else – but they bring with them business communications that go to excessive lengths to create as much dread and spite year after year. I must now protect myself, especially my health.”

A rep for Marr did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment regarding the sale announcement. A rep for Joyce said he does not comment on what his former bandmates say or do.

The Smiths broke up in 1987 and Morrissey and Marr have had a tenuous relationship ever since. Last year, Marr revealed he said “no” to an offer Morrissey said he received from AEG Entertainment Group to reform the band alongside Marr.

Trending Stories

Though in 2008, they met at a pub to discuss a possible Smiths reunion. “In that moment it seemed that with the right intention it could actually be done and might even be great,” Marr wrote in his 2016 memoir Set the Boy Free. “For four days it was a very real prospect.” The potential reunion was fleeting, however, after Marr left to Mexico to tour with the Cribs. “And then suddenly there was radio silence,” Marr wrote. “Our communication ended, and things went back to how they were and how I expect they always will be.”

Drummer Joyce has been estranged from Morrissey and Marr following a 1996 lawsuit over the Smiths royalties that was contentious. After bassist Rourke died in 2023, a proper reunion was no longer possible.

Leon Thomas, GELO Perform at Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Show

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

When word got out that the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event would be taking over Webster Hall for a free concert on Friday (Sept. 5), New Yorkers from all walks of life consumed three blocks waiting — and hoping — to get inside. Those lucky enough to gain entry celebrated every second of the night, as DJ Ohso meticulously spun through hip-hop bangers, sultry afro tunes and a little bit of Paramore to keep the crowd energized, engaged and hungry for a showcase from Billboard‘s Rookies of the Year.

Armanii kicked the night off with his signature blend of dancehall and hip-hop grooves, as fans swayed to “8:00 PM,” “JUMP (Bounce)” and others. Attendee’s workday blues than completely vanished thanks to Billboard‘s Hip-Hop Rookie of the Year GELO, who swaggered about the stage and ignited the party with the littest cuts off his debut album, League of My Own. While fans cheered and supported the newer tracks, it of course was his viral hit “Tweaker” that fully locked the crowd in with its unifying “woah’s” and “ahh’s.”

After a short breather, Odeal‘s presence was immediately felt throughout Webster’s Hall, as people erupted just at the mere sight of the African Rookie of the Year. There were dozens of diehard supporters in the audience, who screamed out every syllable of “Soh-Soh,” “London Summers” and of course “Miami,” with the soon-to-appear headliner Leon Thomas. Before that, though, Ravyn Lenae floated onto the stage to quickly transport the crowd to a more mystical realm. Lenae gracefully sang through her biggest hits including “One Wish” and “Love Me Not,” sprinkling pixie dust along the way like an R&B fairy godmother.

But it was Thomas that really brought the house down. He railed on the drums, shredded on the guitar, sang his absolute heart out — firing off every firearm in his musical arsenal and leaving no survivors. The crowd, admittedly a bit worn after such a lengthy showcase, rallied behind Thomas and fully came back to life as Ty Dolla $ign casually strutted out while singing his verse on “Far Fetched.” The DJ then queued up “Carnival” right after, the Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Ty’s Vultures 1 cut that hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 2024. As Ty sang through the single and hyped up the crowd, Leon and his band — for lack of a better term — rocked the f—k out. Then, almost like a fever dream, the night was over, leaving the crowd sweaty and satisfied in every way.

Green Day Unveil Teaser Trailer for New Years Rev

Green Day Unveil Teaser Trailer for New Years Rev

by jummy84 September 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Green Day have unveiled the teaser trailer for New Years Rev, their coming-of-age comedy film based on their early days as road-tested young punks. Now grab the popcorn and the guyliner!

New Years Rev sees a young and hungry punk band (played by Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, and Ryan Foust) hit the road for California after they mistakenly believe they’ve landed the gig of a lifetime opening for Green Day’s New Year’s Eve concert in Los Angeles. What follows on their road trip out West promises to be “rowdy, mischievous, and full of adventure” as the upstarts learn the ins and outs of the true rock star life.

In the 55-second teaser (featuring Green Day’s “Holiday” as the soundtrack), we see the boys hatch their plan, run afoul of a nasty tow truck driver, play their own show seemingly at a skate park, and even catch Green Day on stage. So far it’s a little like Almost Famous meets Get Him to the Greek (without all that needless Russell Brand showing up), and this one could be a neat little celebration of the snark and spirit Green Day maintain even to this very day. Check out the teaser below.

Related Video

“Van days rule,” Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong said in a previous statement. “You will drive all night on no sleep then play a show for 10 kids in a basement of a friend of a friend’s house 50 miles east of anywhere you’ve ever heard of. But you’ll do it again the next day, and the one after that. Because you’re doing it with your bandmates who become your family and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever known. It’s electric. Let the music and mischief ensue.”

The film, which is still without a release date, also stars The Office‘s own Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey as well as Bobby Lee, Fred Armisen, Sean Gunn, and Ignacio Diaz-Silverio. Fischer’s husband, Lee Kirk (Ordinary World), acts as both writer and director. Green Day also serve as executive producers (alongside what’s basically “punk rock spirit animals”).

Despite the overtly rebellious energy of this flick, it’s worth noting that the film was produced in tandem with Live Nation. The ticketing giant previously produced the 2018 Lady Gaga vehicle A Star Is Born and is also behind the forthcoming Rolling Loud, in which Owen Wilson plays a father who sneaks his 13-year-old son into the eponymous music festival.
