Mark Hoppus Stars in People R Ugly’s New ‘Wake Up’ Music Video

by jummy84 September 18, 2025

Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus serves as the worst high school talent show MC in the hilarious new video for People R Ugly’s “Wake Up.” The track is set to appear on the up-and-coming indie-pop outfit’s debut album, Garage, out Oct. 24 via Verswire.

The video opens with an extended bit featuring Hoppus as a school principal doing an awful job shepherding a talent show along. There are lots of corny puns, poorly-thought-out linguistic choices, and a hot mic to capture the awkward hype-up speech he gives an anxious performer, played by People R Ugly drummer Tristan Kevitch.

“When you get nervous, just imagine everyone out there completely naked,” Principal Hoppus rambles. “Especially second row, Miss Stacy, Home Ec teacher. You know that song ‘All the Small Things’? She’s got some big ones. Been there, done that, I know what I’m talking about.”

From there, the video takes on a Napoleon Dynamite-esque quality, with Kevitch performing an awkward, endearing, and elaborate dance routine to “Wake Up.” Things take a turn halfway through when some light pyrotechnics wind up setting the entire auditorium on fire. But even amidst the chaos of the conflagration, there’s still a ton of dancing going on, and the video’s end seems to suggest the whole thing was all a fantasy as Kevitch’s routine comes to a close and the crowd erupts in applause.

People R Ugly wrote “Wake Up” during a songwriting retreat in Oakhurst, a small mountain town in California. While they were there, frontman Zak Dossi told Rolling Stone, they spent their nights at a bar that “painted the perfect visual for the song.”

Of “Wake Up” and its video, he continued, “It’s about locking eyes with someone on the dancefloor and realizing, ‘Even if I wake up, I’ll still be dreaming.’ Shooting the video with Mark was unreal — all of the dialogue was improv, and it gave the whole thing this raw unpredictable vibe.”

Trending Stories

People R Ugly have enjoyed a big couple of years since 2023, when they released their breakthrough singles “What’s Up?” and “Brain Dead,” and dropped a self-titled EP. Since then, they’ve continued to share scattered singles while also making a name for themselves as a live act, including a big set at Lollapalooza earlier this summer.

Garage marks the band’s proper debut album, and as its title suggests, it was recorded in the garage of Dossi’s home in Orange County, California. “This project is unlike anything we’ve ever made before,” the band said in a statement. “We had a blast experimenting, messing around, and pushing ourselves in new directions, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We hope it makes you laugh, cry, dance, mosh, and maybe even smile at a surprise feature you won’t see coming.”

Intocable Gets SiriusXM Channel

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, and a nod to Intocable‘s 30-year legacy, the band from Texas will get its own limited-run channel on SiriusXM.

This will be the first time the radio platform will have a dedicated channel hosted by a norteño music group, according to a press release, with Intocable Radio taking over SiriusXM’s Águila (ch. 153) from Sept. 19-21.

Intocable’s frontman, Ricky Muñoz, will be the guest DJ taking listeners on a “special journey” that will not only highlight the group’s impressive catalog but also honor the artists who’ve influenced the band along the way. The programming will also include anecdotes, never-before-heard stories about the group’s decades-long career and feature a variety of songs from Ana Gabriel, Chris Stapleton, George Strait, Joan Sebastian, Los Bukis and Selena, among other artists.

“We’re grateful to be able to represent our Latin community as the first regional Mexican/norteño group to have a dedicated channel on SiriusXM,” Muñoz tells Billboard. “We’re grateful to the entire team, and we hope listeners enjoy it. The experience was incredible! We were able to relive career moments, talk a little more about the music we grew up listening to, and the songs that have brought us to where we are today. Again, thank you to the SiriusXM team for allowing us to join them in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.”

Intocable Radio will be available throughout the weekend on channel 153 for SiriusXM subscribers in their cars and on the SiriusXM app.

With eight No. 1 LPs on the Top Latin Albums chart — including Sueños (2002), La Historia (2003) and Highway (2016) — the tejano pioneers have stood the test of time soundtracking multigenerational homes on both sides of the border. Intocable is set to be honored with their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

Body Found in d4vd’s Impounded Car Identified as 15-Year-Old Girl

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

The ongoing saga of the body found in an impounded Tesla belonging to alt-pop singer d4vd earlier this month continues to unfold. According to NBC News Los Angeles, the body has been identified as a 15-year-old girl named Celeste Rivas, who was reported as missing last year in Riverside County.

Rivas was identified through forensics, and the medical examiner is still working to determine the cause of death. She was also identified through a “Shhh…” tattoo on her right index finger. According to TMZ, d4vd has a matching finger tattoo.

Rivas’ body was first discovered on September 8th at a Hollywood tow yard after workers reported a strong odor coming from the car, which is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to d4vd (real name David Anthony Burke). She was last seen on April 5th, 2024, in the western Riverside County community, approximately 50 miles east of Los Angeles.

Refused Forming New Band With Same Members After Last Shows

Refused Forming New Band With Same Members After Last Shows

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

After their final shows as a unit in December. the four members of Refused will all remain together in a brand new band. Drummer David Sandström broke the news on Instagram while announcing details of their last gigs in their native Sweden before the end of the year.

“We ([guitarist] Mattias [Bärjed], [bassist] Magnus [Flagge], [vocalist] Dennis [Lyxzen] and me) want to explore that — a band with no baggage, no fans to please, limited only by our wildest musical hopes and dreams,” he said without elaborating on the project’s name or specific timeline. “We’re very excited about getting around to taming this new wild beast.”

Addressing why they couldn’t just carry on as Refused, Sandström admitted, “Refused was never good for mine and Dennis’ relationship. We both have our own idea of what the band should be and how we should behave and never the twain shall meet. And we’d rather be friends than play in a popular band.”

As they near the conclusion of their farewell tour, which resumes Oct. 1 in Glasgow, Refused have also set the lineups for the last eight gigs in Sweden, which will boast some of their oldest friends from the global hardcore scene as openers. Among them are Harrowed, Division of Laura Lee, Millencolin, Abhinanda, Final Exit, Nix and Dream Warriors.

“We’re bringing Youth Code over from L.A. to join us, a band we love both artistically and socially,” Sandström said. “Whenever i want listen to some really intense, violent new hardcore I always end up listening to Youth Code instead, and I can’t think of a band that better embodies the maelstrom of hatred and insanity that is presently consuming the U.S.”

He continued, “you have a pretty glorious marriage of old and new, of underground and established, of traditionalists and risk-takers, and nothing could sum up our band more than this amazing catalog of bands. This is going to be an absolute blast of a finale.”

Refused formed in 1991 and split following their landmark 1998 album The Shape of Punk to Come, but they reunited in 2012 and have been active in the studio and on the road ever since. Lyxzen suffered a heart attack in June 2024 but recovered sufficiently for Refused to begin touring again earlier this year.

“A few people have insinuated that like some other bands who, in the fashion of the great Larry David, quit with bells, whistles (and blood raining from a lacerating sky) only to return within a few years as if nothing had happened, Refused would do the same. Well, we won’t, and I feel the need to elucidate,” Sandström said. “We only broke up once and it was involuntary. Most of you might not remember but at the end of our reunion year [in] 2012, we kept things ambiguous in our final statement (‘The hatchet is buried … we’re going home’) for plausible deniability, because we weren’t sure our attempt at a permanent reunion would fly. It did, but only so far.”

Denzel Washington Reveals What He Wants To Be Remembered For In Life

Denzel Washington Reveals What He Wants To Be Remembered For In Life

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

In a poignantly reflective moment, legendary actor Denzel Washington opened up about how he hopes to be remembered, offering a heartfelt glimpse into the values that define him beyond the silver screen.

During a wide-ranging conversation with longtime collaborator Spike Lee on Apple TV, the two icons discussed Washington’s newest film Highest 2 Lowest, as well as deeper themes of legacy, faith, and purpose.

At one point, Lee posed a simple but weighty question: how would Washington like history to remember him? The veteran actor’s response was both humble and profound.

“A man of faith, a man of God, a human who’s made a ton of mistakes,” Washington responded. “A humble man, god-loving, wife-loving, children-loving, who did the best he could with what he had.”

While audiences may know him as one of the greatest actors of his generation—with unforgettable roles in Malcolm X, Training Day, Glory, American Gangster, and The Book of Eli—Washington made it clear that his most important legacy lies far beyond Hollywood accolades.

A devoted husband and father, Washington has never shied away from the love he has for his wife, Pauletta Washington, or his children, John David, 41, Katia, 37, and twins Malcolm and Olivia, 34.

Still, his achievements are staggering: two Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, a Tony Award, and nominations for both Emmys and a Grammy.

Released Aug. 15, Highest 2 Lowest is the latest addition to his storied career. Directed by Spike Lee, the film stars Washington alongside A$AP Rocky, with the pair reportedly forming a genuine bond during filming, trading thoughts on life, love, and music.

Yet for all the awards and iconic roles, Washington wants to be remembered not just for his art—but for his heart. In an industry often focused on image, he stands out as someone who values character above celebrity.

Lola Young: I’m Only F**king Myself Album Review

Lola Young: I’m Only F**king Myself Album Review

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

“Messy” wasn’t just a hit single for Lola Young; it was also a manifesto. The bratty pop-rock song that dominated TikTok in late 2024 and early 2025 documents the British singer’s inner dialogue as she chafes against impossibly high standards. “A thousand people I could be for you, and you hate the fucking lot,” Young rasps in her defiant south London twang, alternately belting and gently teasing out the line. It’s spiky yet wounded, capturing the turbulence of a toxic relationship in full swing. Young wrote her third album, I’m Only Fucking Myself, during the song’s unexpected meteoric rise (in January this year, it was the most-streamed song by a British artist in the world) and a stint in rehab. Here, she leans further into her commitment to warts-and-all pop music, producing several songs that feel just as arresting as her viral moment.

Though “Messy” seems addressed to a critical partner or parent, you could also read Young’s bristling self-ownership through the lens of her career: the long road of publicly carving out her identity as a musician after having been discovered as a teenager. She graduated from the BRIT School in 2018, a selective but free specialist school for music and performing arts, notably attended by the likes of Adele, Amy Winehouse, and RAYE. Soon afterwards, she caught the attention of Nick Shymansky, Winehouse’s former manager, and Nick Huggett, who signed Adele. Both signed up to her management team (Shymansky is still her manager today); the following year, she inked a deal with Island Records.

Her first releases were downbeat, soulful singles that seemed to play to the masses. In 2021, she even completed the British hazing ritual of recording a tear-streaked piano cover of a vintage pop song for department store John Lewis’s annual Christmas advert. But by her breakthrough 2024 record This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, she’d developed a disarming candor—she’s described it as learning “to write as if I was speaking to somebody,” a quality she sharpens on I’m Only Fucking Myself.

The record documents a life in chaotic transition, including Young’s recovery from cocaine addiction—a non-linear journey that doesn’t rest on feel-good affirmations or straightforward resolution, but unblinkingly faces both the highs and the lows. The album’s first full track is the anthemic “FUCK EVERYONE,” an indie-sleaze ode to casual sex and hedonism, before breaking into a strut with the psychedelic-tinged funk of “One Thing.” Although anxieties about exposure and self-hatred cling to the lyrics like shadows, the songs’ production—shaped by Solomonophonic (SZA, Remi Wolf)—fosters a no-strings-attached, devil-may-care breeziness before the album careens into darker territory.

BLACKPINK's Rosé hits major milestone with 'APT.'

BLACKPINK’s Rosé hits major milestone with ‘APT.’

by jummy84 September 18, 2025

BLACKPINK‘s Rosé has hit yet another major milestone with her hit single, ‘APT.’ featuring Bruno Mars.

  • READ MORE: Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT.’ is an addictively flirty and fun intro to the BLACKPINK star’s solo era

Last October, Rosé took the world by storm when she released ‘APT.’ with Bruno Mars. Very quickly, the song took over charts across the globe and social media.

Now, the K-pop star and BLACKPINK member has hit yet another landmark achievement, as it has now hit over 2billion views on YouTube in 10 months. It marks the first of her solo material to do so.

Watch the ever-energetic music video for ‘APT.’ below.

The achievement comes just days after she became the first-ever Korean act to win Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). ‘APT.’ broke numerous records and topped charts following its release in October – also becoming the fastest K-pop song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.

‘APT.’ was named one of NME’s best 50 songs of 2024 and clinched the second spot on NME’s list of the best 25 K-pop songs of the year. Sara Delgado wrote of the track when it was awarded the second spot: “With pink-tinged flirty iconography, a genius interpolation of Toni Basil’s ‘Mickey’ and an infectiously funky chanted chorus, ‘APT.’ will go down in history as the perfect case study on how to launch a solo career. The cherry on top of a great package? The assist (vocally, but also creatively) from the ever-charismatic Bruno Mars.”

The song also scored a glowing five-star review, with NME’s Rhian Daly writing: “Truthfully, Rosé has never sounded as good as she does here. There’s a power and confidence in her voice that far surpasses her past performances, and the vintage pop-rock riffs and attitude – which echo with elements of Toni Basil, Blondie and Joan Jett – feel sublimely suited to her as an artist. Addictive, flirty and a whole lot of fun, ‘APT.’ is the perfect introduction to Rosé’s new chapter.”

Isabella Ladera Sues Beéle Over Leaked Sex Video

Isabella Ladera Sues Beéle Over Leaked Sex Video

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Over a week after Venezuelan influencer Isabella Ladera alleged that the singer Beéle leaked a sex video of the two of them, she has officially filed a lawsuit against him. In it, she accuses Beéle (real name: Brandon de Jesús López Orozco) of invasion of privacy, sexual cyber harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.

“The refusal to erase the videos, coupled with the apparent easily accessible nature of his phone, establishes that Beéle is the source of the leaks,” reads the lawsuit filed Wednesday and obtained by Rolling Stone. (López Orozco’s attorneys previously denied circulating the video, saying he was “also a victim of the nonconsensual exposure of his privacy.” They did not respond to Roling Stone‘s request for comment on Wednesday.)

In the lawsuit, Ladera explains that she and López Orozco met during a Miami party in December 2023 while he was in the process of divorcing his wife, Camila “Cara” Rodriguez. The pair struck up a friendship and later a romantic relationship where they “at Beéle’s request, would record their sexual interactions,” according to the filing.

Ladera explains that the pair would share the videos privately and that she “never thought” they’d be shared with anyone else. Ladera claims that she asked the singer to delete the recordings around May 2024, about a year before they broke up. “To her surprise, he not only refused to erase them, but instead questioned her trust in him,” reads the lawsuit.

The following month, in June 2024, Ladera’s attorneys noted that López Orozco’s estranged wife began sharing private communications between the singer and Ladera — apparently accessed directly from his phone — as she attempted to accuse him of infidelity. (The attorneys point this out to suggest that a third party may have had access to the leaked video.)

Ladera and López Orozco split up in March 2025. Several months later, in June, two people reached out to Ladera, saying they had screenshots from a video that would soon be released publicly, according to the lawsuit.

Editor’s picks

“Shockingly, on September 7, 2025, one of the videos was leaked through a WhatsApp account. The video went viral, and for Ladera the earth stood still,” the attorneys write. “Although she always knew this could be a possibility, she thought that having contacted Beéle’s team would stop the leak from occurring.”

In the lawsuit, Ladera speaks against those who claim that she leaked the video herself “for her own personal gain,” saying that she had deleted those videos more than a year prior.

“Ladera suffered damages, shame, humiliation, and mental anguish as a result of the public disclosure of her private affairs and activities,” reads the lawsuit.

The singer’s attorneys claimed in a Sept. 9 statement that he “did not leak said material” nor “disseminate” the sex video in a release from his attorneys. López Orozco’s legal team explained at the time that they had started legal action in Colombia and in the United States against “those responsible for the obtaining, distribution, hosting, indexing, or monetization” of the private sex video.

Trending Stories

In her emotional accusation earlier this month, Ladera called López Orozco someone who “lied to me from the start” and “never tried to protect me,” claiming that he purposefully leaked the video while she was in the process of “reconstruction” following their break-up in July 2024.

“This act doesn’t just put my privacy at risk, it also goes against my dignity and has caused me immense pain to me and my family,” she wrote, describing the act as an example of violence against women. “The worst part has been receiving hate and judgment while the real person responsible remains silent.”

‘AGT’ 2025 Finalists Are Revealed

‘AGT’ 2025 Finalists Are Revealed

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

The semifinalists did their thing, America voted. Now we know the score.

On Wednesday night, Sept. 17, America’s Got Talent America revealed the six performers who collected the most votes and get the go-ahead for the Finale.

Singers Jessica Sanchez, Jourdan Blue and the Leo High School Choir Choir are safe, as are improv Rapper Chris Turner, projectionists LightWire, and acrobats Sirca Marea. They join rappers Micah Palace (judge Simon Cowell’s Live Golden Buzzer) and Mama Duke (Mel B’s Live Golden Buzzer), dance troupe Team Recycled (Howie Mandel’s Live Golden Buzzer) and singer-songwriter Steve Ray Ladson (Sofía Vergara’s Live Golden Buzzer), each of whom bypassed the Semifinals drama.

It’s the end of the line, however, for Bay Melnick Virgolino, Unreal, Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, TT Boys and Zak Mirz, who are eliminated at the penultimate stage.

For Sanchez, a spot in the final is a dream come true. “I’m really stunned, thank you America,” she told host Terry Crews after her name was called. “I’m just so honored to be here…I’ll do my best.”

Sanchez has imagined this moment for two decades, or more. The Houston, TX native, who is nine months pregnant, auditioned for the first season of America’s Got Talent back in 2006, when she herself was child, aged just 10.

She returned to AGT for its 20th season, when she auditioned by singing Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things.” The judges were so impressed that Sanchez wound up earning a golden buzzer from Vergara, sending her immediately to the live round of the competition.

For her Semifinal knockout, she performed a soulful rendition of Golden Hour” by JVKE, a song choice that was questioned by judges Mel B and Howie Mandel, but loved by Vergara, Cowell, and, apparently, America.

Next up, the Finalist Acts will perform for the last time on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with voting opening at 6pm ET. The following night, Sept. 24, is the big reveal on NBC: the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 20, and the $1 million grand prize.

Casting is already underway for Season 21.  Visit agtauditions.com for more.

ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live for Charlie Kirk Shooter Comment

ABC Pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live for Charlie Kirk Shooter Comment

by jummy84 September 18, 2025
written by jummy84

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been pulled off the air by ABC indefinitely following comments made by Kimmel about the death of Charlie Kirk.

The network’s decision followed a series of dramatic developments on Wednesday, including a stern warning from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr directed at ABC, and a subsequent announcement from Nexstar, one of the nation’s largest owners of local TV stations, that it would preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The uproar stems from comments Kimmel made during his monologues earlier in the week. “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said during Monday’s monologue.

He followed that up on Tuesday by criticizing JD Vance and “many in Maga-land [who] are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk.” After dismissing Vance’s claim that “most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left,” Kimmel countered by asking, “Who wanted to hang the guy who was vice president before you? Was that the liberal left? Or the toothless army who stormed the Capitol on January 6?”

During a podcast appearance on Wednesday, Carr called on Kimmel to apologize and threatened the FCC licenses of ABC affiliates. “What people don’t understand is that the broadcasters … have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest,” Carr said. “When we see stuff like this, look, we can do this the easy way or the hard way. These companies can find ways to change conduct, on Kimmel, or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

Nexstar, which is also amid a multi-billion merger that requires FCC approval, promptly announced that it would preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! “for the foreseeable future.” “Mr. Kimmel’s comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse, and we do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,” Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, said in a statement. “Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue.”

ABC itself soon followed suit, announcing that Kimmel’s show would be suspended indefinitely.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel had planned to address the controversy on tonight’s episode, but has no plans to apologize.

With the Late Show with Stephen Colbert set to end in May 2026, only NBC’s late-night shows remain unaffected by the current political climate at this time. What happens next remains to be seen, but Kimmel’s current contract at ABC expires in 2026, and he told People magazine in February 2024 that it could be his last. He also recently obtained Italian citizenship.
