A Visual Diary by Fabio Cherstich

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

I found myself grateful to the custodians. To Betty, who learned to hang her son’s paintings on clean white walls only after she was free to do so. To Arthur, who loved Larry and kept his drawings safe until the world remembered to look again. To Allen, who made sure Darrel’s photographs kept thinking. And to Fabio, who refuses to let any of this remain private grief. He turns it into public care.

When the lights rose, I felt that rare sensation that art has done what it is meant to do: make us more porous, more attentive, more human. It transformed remembrance into a collective act. It asked us not only to look but to hold what we had seen.

A Visual Diary is not nostalgia. Nostalgia wants the past to stay golden and far away. Fabio invites it into the present and asks us to take responsibility for it. Archives are not objects. They are relationships. They live when someone carries them forward. Triennale presented the work in the historic CRT venue, and that setting mattered. It gave space back to tenderness, music, and memory. For a moment, the community that once existed only in fragments was whole again.

Leaving the theatre, I thought: perhaps this is what art is for, to keep love from dissolving into silence, to keep memory alive long enough to become our own.

2025 Academy Museum Gala: All the Best Celebrity Red Carpet Looks

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

If the 2025 Academy Museum Gala’s red carpet is anything to go by, this is going to be a great awards season.

Is this a safe place to admit my opinion that red carpets have grown a bit stale over the past few seasons, with just a few really memorable looks here and there? Thankfully, it seems designers and celebrities are more than ready to change that this year. From the avant-garde, like Hailey Bieber’s corseted Schiaparelli illusion dress, to even the more classic gowns, like Demi Moore’s burgundy Prada moment, there were no shortage of showstoppers—and I haven’t even mentioned Jenna Ortega’s leaf-inspired breastplate or Elle Fanning’s Balenciaga t-shirt yet.

While the main purpose of the Academy Museum Gala is to raise funds for the museum’s exhibitions and programming, it always serves as a strong precursor to Awards season. Sure, this year’s Emmys have already come and gone, but we’ve still got many months to go before the Academy Awards in March. Between now and then, celebrity stylists still have to call in looks for the BAFTAs, SAG Awards, the Grammys, and all the celebratory moments in between. This is just the appetizer.

From Zoë Kravitz to Olivia Rodrigo to Charli XCX, here are all the must-see red carpet looks from the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.

Molten Brunette Is This Fall’s Most Luxurious Hair Color Trend

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

This fall and winter, the classic brunette comes with a precious glow. Enter: “molten brunette”—a deep, shimmering shade that looks expensive and luxurious. Already adopted by celebrities and it-girls alike in anticipation of the falling temperatures, this brunette 2.0 feels both red carpet-ready and a soon-to-be-hit among the street style set. So far in 2025, we’ve seen hair trends span cherry cola to ginger spice, mocha mousse, and vibrant copper—molten brunette is just the next one you need to know for your next sit in the salon chair.

What is the molten brunette hair color trend?

Brunettes have been having a whole lot of fun this year, from toffee shades to mocha and taupe. Fall and winter is calling for something just as bold and elevated, but with a minimalist spirit.

“Molten brunette” is a shade of brown that evokes the heat of molten metal, creating a sumptuous glow for your hairdo. Neither solid brown or a deep caramel, this color marries chocolate, amber, and mocha tones to give the impression of light flowing between strands. The result: hair with a liquid, almost iridescent shine.

The trick to that molten brunette glow is how subtly multi-dimensional it is. The dark brown is not an austere, uniform shade, but a deep and warming sweep of dark color that catches the winter light, whether your hair is straight, wavy, or color. What it achieves: a color that feels discreet yet sophisticated, and denotes much-needed warmth through cold and winter thanks to its almost liquid sheen.

How to wear molten brunette through fall and winter 2025

Feeling molten brunette for fall and winter? This iridescent shade flatters golden skin tones and porcelain complexions alike. It’s also very complementary for hazel, green, and ice-blue eyes. Molten brunette is easily maintained too, thanks to its simple monocolor. Striking and sleek, without the need for return trips to the salon to touch up your highlights.

Hailey Bieber’s Fall Manicure Is Just as Trippy as Her Corset Dress—But Way More Wearable

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Hailey Bieber has been standing ten toes—well, nails—down on the glass nail trend, but switched things up for 2025 Academy Museum Gala.

On October 18, the 28-year-old Rhode founder arrived at the Academy Museum Gala—sometimes referred to as the “West Coast Met Gala”—in a look worthy of the event’s nickname. Fresh off Schiaparelli spring-summer couture runway, Bieber’s dress accentuated her figure with a sheer corset with exposed boning and hip padding, giving the slight illusion that the rest of her espresso brown gown were, in fact, a low-rise skirt and strapless bra combo.

But that wasn’t the only trippy detail in the design, which featured a shimmery two-toned fabric that appears to shift as it catches the light, almost like the popular cat-eye nail trend. Of course, that brings us to Hailey Bieber’s manicure. To match her dress and toasty makeup look, Bieber ditched nude nails in favor of a chocolate brown cat-eye effect.

Following the event, celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt revealed exactly how she created Bieber’s nail look, which she describes as the “ultimate fall manicure.” She started with one layer of OPI’s Brown to Earth Gel Polish mixed with the brand’s No-Wipe Top Coat before mixing those polishes with a bit of cat-eye powder for the second coat. Presumably, that’s when she hit the nails with her magnet before adding one more layer of the No-Wipe Top Coat.

Though she did not include a tutorial in her Instagram post, which can be seen here, it seems to mimic the technique she used to achieve Bieber’s “cinnamon girl manicure” back in November 2024. Luckily, she did film that process for Instagram and TikTok.

These 6 Chic Bags Would Make the Perfect Gift this Holiday Season

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

When the holidays roll around, my mind always wanders to the same place: this year’s designer It bag. While everyone else is making wish lists filled with practical things, I’m picturing myself untying a silky ribbon to reveal the handbag of the season—something timeless yet fresh, that everyone wants their hands on. It’s become a bit of a personal tradition: as soon as the temperatures drop, I start mentally bookmarking the bags that I’d love to see with my name on the gift tag. A girl can dream, right?

This year, I’m planning ahead before anyone even asks me what I want. The handbags on my radar aren’t just fleeting trends—they’re the kind of chic, investment-worthy pieces that would make anyone’s holiday extra special. From rich suede shoulder bags to polished leather totes, each one strikes that perfect balance between classic and current. Whether you’re shopping for someone else or (let’s be honest) hoping to manifest a delivery to your own doorstep, consider this your curated edit of the season’s most giftable designer bags.

A Unique Chanel Double Flap

As I expand my bag collection, I’m most interested in investing in the classics, but with a twist. Now that I feel like I have a good foundation for my wardrobe, and a black Chanel Double Flap that I love, my mind is set on finding more double flaps that are unique and have character. Pops of color, cool textures, rare finds—these are all on my radar and I can’t wait to see if I find anything good on my next vintage shopping trip.

Balenciaga Rodeo Bag

Consider this the city bag’s sophisticated older sister. The city bag girl is downtown, spinning behind the DJ booth at every major party. But come Sunday, she’s visiting her big sister’s elegant apartment uptown—the one who’s traded late nights for elevated essentials. This bag is her.

Bottega Veneta Ciao Ciao

The Rodeo bag isn’t the only slouchy and roomy style that I have my eye on. Bottega Veneta’s Ciao Ciao bag might just be my new obsession. It shot to the top of my wishlist when it first launched and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It is such a minimal style but instantly recognizable by people in the know.

Chloé Paddington Bag

This bag was once loved by the it-girls of the aughts and it’s having a quick comeback. The bag’s oversized hardware and slightly rugged feel make it stand out in a sea of polished, structured styles. It’s nostalgic but in a way that feels surprisingly fresh again. I love the idea of styling it with tailored pieces to balance out its Y2K energy.

Toteme T-Lock Clutch

My evening bag collection is slim. In my early 20s, I was after glitter, sparkles, and colorful details but right now I’m looking for something a little more understated. Thus leading me to the T-Lock Clutch by Toteme. A clutch screams eveningwear yet this one whispers it much more quietly than some of my previous choices. I have so many outfit ideas with it, I don’t even know where to begin.

The Row ‘90s Bag

This one is pure investment piece territory. It’s simple, sleek, and timeless in a way that only The Row can pull off. I love the idea of having a minimal bag like this in my rotation for years to come—the kind that just gets better with age and goes with absolutely everything. It’s the ultimate quiet luxury classic and everyone I know who has bought it, *ahem* Laura Harrier for instance, has no regrets.

Dinner Avec Dior! Inside the Opening Night of Beverly Hill’s Most Fashionable New Eatery

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

Upon arrival to the North Rodeo Drive address, they made their way up the sweeping staircase to the third-floor setting, which overlooks a lush multi-story garden created in collaboration with landscape architect Peter Wirtz. Designed by Peter Marino, the restaurant is reminiscent of the elegance of Dior’s historic boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne—albeit seasoned with a distinctly Californian flavor. Its airy spaces are awash in shades of green and chartreuse in an ode to Christian Dior’s beloved gardens. And as for nodding to the new, the floor pays backdrop to Dior Maison, the home décor offering. Guests quickly spotted the reissued trompe-l’œil plates by Jonathan Anderson—the very same designs that doubled as the invite to his debut show last month.

Pre-dinner, cocktails were served at the bar area’s curved ebony-and-onyx counter, beneath a ceiling of white rose petals; Monsieur Dior’s favorite bloom. The party soon flowed into the dining room, where a dramatic 28-foot work by Nicole Wittenberg anchors the space. Dinner began with caviar service and savory buckwheat madeleines, presented on tables dressed in crisp white linen and set with porcelain and crystal glassware rendered in Dior’s signature Cannage pattern.

When it came to crafting the menu, Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn has drawn deeply from the Dior archives. “I went to the archive and to the atelier—to understand the craftsmanship, the story, and what lies beyond,” Crenn, the only female chef in the U.S. to hold three Michelin stars, told Vogue. “It’s not just about fashion—there’s so much more behind it. I wanted to see how I could bring my DNA to their DNA.”

The result is a smorgasbord of food and fashion that pays homage to signature Dior moments: tuna tartare with purple yam chips and crème fraîche recall the layered eggplant-hued tulle gown worn by Emilia Clarke at Cannes in 2018; black truffle agnolotti with mushroom consommé evokes Charlize Theron’s golden J’Adore campaign; Guinea hen with maitake mushrooms and turnip was inspired by Laetitia Casta’s shimmering gold lamé sheath from Cannes 2003; and a ribeye cap with cauliflower purée and truffle, references a Marilyn Monroe image from a 1962 issue of Vogue.“I’ve worked on this for the last three years,” Crenn said. “Everything is a story on the plate.”

The true showstopper of the night hit the table like a finale on the runway: a Cannage-topped chocolate mousse by pâtissier Juan Contreras, Crenn’s longtime collaborator, modeled after Princess Diana and her Lady Dior bag.

Angelina Jolie Just Put a Tattoo-Baring Twist on One of Fall’s Biggest Trends

by jummy84 October 20, 2025
written by jummy84

When Jolie turned around, she revealed an unexpected open back cutout that perfectly frames a variety of large tattoos she’s accumulated over the years. In fact, if you look closely, the top panel holding up the dress appears to come just above her “know your rights” tattoo, which is reportedly the title of her favorite song by The Clash.

Angelina Jolie attends the “Couture” red carpet during the 20th Rome Film Festival on October 18, 2025.

Stefania D’Alessandro/Getty Images

The dress itself is a cross between the runway version and a ready-to-wear dress that currently retails for $1,773. While Alberta Ferretti creative director Lorenzo Serafini’s runway design featured glistening embellishments and more dramatic draping, the shoppable cape dress does not include an open back at all.

Clearly, this middle ground was the perfect fit for Jolie, who recently emphasized the importance of her tattoos in an interview with Backstage. “There’s something about being an actor where often, you’re expected to become a blank slate in between characters,” she said, revealing she was warned against getting tattoos early on in her career for that very reason.

Obviously, she ignored that advice. “It was one of many things I did in my life that was separate from film and being on camera—that was me and not a character,” she said. “So I wasn’t just staying a blank slate, even literally.”

The 90's Layered T-Shirt Trend to Pair With Jeans in Winter

The 90’s Layered T-Shirt Trend to Pair With Jeans in Winter

by jummy84 October 19, 2025
written by jummy84

As I sifted through my T-shirt collection the other day, deciding what to keep and what to store away for now, I realised my carefully curated selection is second to none. From fitted long-sleeves to graphic prints and the fresh white tees, you could say I have more than a few options. In a slightly disoriented haze, I looked up and saw a clip of Friends on my TV screen, and there was Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green in the layered T-shirt trend I’d been overlooking this whole time.

In the episode, Rachel wears a simple black long-sleeved top underneath a bright green graphic tee. Basic to the untrained eye, but to me, it lends her tracksuit bottoms and chunky “dad” trainers an undeniably cool edge, and I was hooked. Sure, the look has an inherent retro ’90s aesthetic, which has very much come back around lately, but with the image firmly in my mind’s eye, I was surprised to see a whole host of fashionable people on my feed styling the layered-tee trend in winter 2025, which is why I needed to tell you about it!

Fashion person Monikh wears the layered t-shirt trend. We pairs two white tees with brown cordaory jeans and a brown tote bag. She finishes the look with The row flip flops in a recent image take from her Instagram

The beauty of this styling hack lies in its simplicity: a short-sleeved crew-neck tee layered over a longer one. Instantly, your favourite T–shirt is given an undone, slightly preppy refinement, which, when paired with jeans or relaxed trousers, makes your outfit feel 100 times cooler than just a tee alone. Plus, the options are limitless when it comes to colour combos; from green and black like Aniston’s Rachel, to fresh white on white, which still feels timeless, you can go as maximalist or pared-back as you like.

Image of the Valentino autumn/winter 2025 show. The model wears a blue shirt with a graphic t-shirt layered on top. This image was taken from Launchmetrics.

Now, not that it needs to be said, but layering is a big trend in autumn/winter 2025. From the Valentino show, which featured a vibrant blue shirt layered underneath a red-and-white graphic tee, to Sandy Laing’s baby-pink striped shirt with a graphic tee layered on top, the runways were filled with this once-dated top trend this season.

Fashion person Lindsey Holland wears the layered t-shirt trend. She wears a washed black oversized tee, paired with skinny jeans and a black boot. This image was taken from her Instagram recently.

My favourite thing about this is that it allows you to repurpose you’re own wardrobe rather than investing in something new. I, for one, will be leaning into the layered T-shirt trend when my staple tops start to feel a touch stagnant this winter. But if you are looking to refresh your basic tops, shop my current picks below.
