Los Angeles is the place to be this week. Ahead of Vogue World: Hollywood, a celebration of fashion and film taking over Paramount Studios on Sunday (tune into the livestream at 6 p.m. PDT!), Vogue brought the excitement street side with an exclusive pop-up in the heart of Hollywood for one day only, on October 24. The shop offered an exclusive chance to shop the highly-anticipated collaboration with Fear of God IRL—a brand that embodies the city’s distinct blend of laid-back cool and cinematic glamour. ICYMI, or just couldn’t get your hands on the right size, the eight-piece collection is still available in-store exclusively at Maxfield LA, and online at Fear of God.

Founded by 2025 CFDA Innovation Award recipient, Jerry Lorenzo, Fear of God has long sought to distill the essence of Los Angeles in its DNA—fittingly, this capsule serves as a love letter to the brand’s hometown. “Los Angeles is home for Fear of God and a constant source of inspiration,” Lorenzo says. “From the creative energy of the Eastside to the quiet ease of kids surfing the waves in Venice; from the heart of the city in Inglewood to Hollywood’s red carpets. This partnership pays tribute to the diverse communities that define Los Angeles and the spirit of American luxury shaped through the California lifestyle.”

The collection features Fear of God’s signature unisex staples–a tank top, oversized T-shirts, long-sleeves, and hoodies rendered in neutral tones and adorned with dual Vogue and Fear of God logos. On the back, find an homage to the city’s iconic neighborhoods, with star detailing along the sleeves calling to mind Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. These are modern staples that feel just at home courtside as they do on Sunset Boulevard, where stardom meets seaside calm.

As Vogue global editorial director, Anna Wintour, described “Vogue World: Hollywood will be a one-night-only show with a huge cast of models and actors, setting great film costumes next to brilliant fashion collections…a runway show-as-rallying cry—a way to fix the attention of a huge global audience, to bring awareness, and sound an unmistakable note of positivity, creativity, and hope.”

Couldn’t make it to the pop-up? No worries. Shop the exclusive capsule at Maxfield Los Angeles or online at fearofgod.com.

Julianne Moore’s Brown Braided Bag is the Must-Have Tote for Fall-Winter 2025

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Julianne Moore is carrying Madrid’s “must-have” bag of the moment.

There are trends that emerge on the runways, others on social media, and then there are those that simply become objects of desire through aesthetic repetition. The dark-toned braided bag is one of them. This luxuriously textured, handcrafted accessory has been gaining more and more followers, eventually finding its way into the wardrobes of almost every fashionista in Madrid, per Vogue Spain. No matter which neighborhood in the center of Spain’s capital you walk through, you’ll see it everywhere, and Julianne Moore also approves of this trend.

The braided bag began to gain traction a few seasons ago thanks to Bottega Veneta, but we know that trends follow a course from the moment they are worn on runways and celebrities until they truly emerge on the street. Now, we can say that this design has endured with the approval of celebs like Moore and the general public.

While the most stylish women will be styling their braided bags with jeans, blazers, and loafers, Julianne Moore adds her own take on the look with a style that screams confidence. A black knit sweater, wide-legged dark brown faux-leather pants, and gathered shoes come together in this outfit, spiced up by her braided shopper bag, aviator sunglasses, earcuffs, and a delicate necklace.

A City Girl’s Guide to Fall Shoes—7 Chic Editor-Approved Styles

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Hyperbole or not, to work or live in Manhattan, you’ve got to get comfortable with walking. There have been days in the city where I’ve logged well over 5 miles on foot—usually lost in a song, strutting down 5th Ave like it’s my own personal runway. It’s a known fact that New Yorkers walk fast, so to keep up with this city’s stride, it’s essential that whatever is supporting your soles must provide comfort as well as style—so, coming to you as a shopping editor, an NYC commuter, and a previous Manhattan resident, here is my City Girl’s guide to fall shoes in 2025.

I’ve called on the latest Gen Z fall 2025 shoe trends—like the sporty sneaker, slouchy boot, and casual pump—plus two Parisian fall favorites, the slim loafer and the suede ballet flat. The classic Birkenstock Boston Clogs make an appearance, alongside the cult-favorite Frye boots. Join me as I try on, style, and review these seven NYC editor-approved fall shoes.

My pick: Madewell Mylie Ballet Flats ($128)

First up: the Madewell Mylie Ballet Flats. With a few sizes already out of stock (the 5, 6, 10, and 11), these are bound to sell out fast. I’d seen these soft suede ballet flats on IG and wondered if they’d hold up on NYC’s busy streets. I got to try them out for a few weeks, and I can officially report: these are a fall 2025 ballet-flat must-have. The 100% leather upper survived Penn Station at rush hour, subway delays, and spontaneous dinners with friends. I’ve reached for these chic suede flats again and again because their mocha finish has become my new fall neutral.

Here, I’ve opted for a casual sweater-and-jean ensemble with my favorite pair of Levi 501s and a thrifted lime-green wool turtleneck. I matched the dark carob Madewell flats to a woven brown leather bag. This is just one of the many ‘fits I styled around these flats. I think they’d look adorable with a pair of barrel-leg trousers and an oversized blazer. So if you’re looking for a new ballet to add to your fall shoe rotation, I’d highly recommend the Madewell Mylie.

Shop the Suede Flats

With no half-sizing available, I recommend sizing up if you are in between sizes. The flat’s 100% leather lining molds to you for a snug fit. And as true size eight, the corresponding size fits me perfectly. I’m a chronic complainer of sore feet, but I found these Madewell flats a relief on my Manhattan commute.

If you’re looking for a new pair of jeans, I recommend starting with the Levi 501s. The fit is a classic. Shop a similar sweater from Pistola and a woven-leather tote from Anthropologie below.

My pick: Adidas Tokyo Shoe ($90)

Low-profile sneakers are one of the biggest fall 2025 sneaker trends. Fashion people everywhere are opting for a slimmer, sportier trainer to wear with trousers and jeans this fall. If you’re a frequent WWW reader or like to take note of what fashion people are wearing, then my low-pro sneaker of choice won’t come as a surprise: the Adidas Tokyo Shoes. Perfect for a casual outing or, depending on you’re ensemble, easy to dress up—these ’70s-inspired runners prepare you well for city life.

I’ve leaned into the sporty-chic aesthetic, pairing these low-pro lace-ups with Reformation’s low-rise trousers and a basic white tee. I could also see these with a wide-leg baggy jean. Or even a cute pair of socks and an equally retro-chic shift dress for a flirty, yet sporty look. The styling possibilities are endless, and certainly don’t end with fall ‘fits. These rubber soles will look chic well into 2026.

The soft suede upper is a great textural addition to any fall look. I found the size eight a bit roomy, but with a cozy pair of socks, they fit just right. Available in 12 different colors, from the off-white and deep black, seen here, to a mirror-finish metallic. Half-sizing is available from 5 to 11.

Collage of WWW editor Josephine Hadjiloucas in fall shoe outfits. She is wearing a pair of black leather mules from Seychelles.

My pick: Seychelles Mocktail Mule ($122)

I’ve written before that growing up, I expected to wear more heels in my adult life. But this has proved to be more difficult than anticipated. Working in Manhattan, one of the main criteria for my footwear is comfort, and high heels aren’t exactly known for their soothing support. This low-heeled mule is my alternative to a sky-high pump without sacrificing style for comfort. I purchased the Seychelle Mocktail Mule at the start of fall, and have since worn them to NYFW showings, diners, and screenings, proving to be a reliable choice of footwear.

The tapered square toe creates a lovely silhouette when paired with a column skirt. I’m a fool for clean lines and a vintage-inspired elegance. I styled the midi skirt with a solid white tee layered under a sheer black sweater because see-through knits are my fall continuation of the sheer trend that dominated the style set’s wardrobe this summer. You can shop the low-heeled mules at a discount on Revolve for only $122.

Shop the Mules

Mocktail Mule

Sold out in sizes 6.5 and 9, these slip-on mules barely qualify as heels with their 1-inch lift. The barley-there pump is an evolution of the fashion crowd’s love for kitten heels and ballet flats. It took me about a week to break in the leather upper, but after that, these are one of the more comfortable mules I own.

My pick: G.H. Bass Whitney Leather Loafer ($175)

Next up, the loafer—the collegiate silhouette is a fall classic, loved by both Parisians and New Yorkers. The shoes’ legacy and influence on the fashion set are unavoidable. Before deciding on which loafer to test out, I consulted my fellow Who What Wear editors and discovered a common theme—the G.H. Bass Whitney Leather Loafer. I tested and styled the penny loafer to find out why the G.H. Bass ones are an editor fave.

Crafted from premium box leather, the G.H. Bass loafers only get better with wear. Available in four finishes, I opted for wine. While still the traditional silhouette, the burgundy finish is a modern rendition of the OG black loafer. The polished leather truly shines when paired with elevated basics. That’s why I styled them with a classic white button-down, Levi 501 Curves, and a buttery-soft leather shoulder bag.

Available in half sizes from 5 to 11, the G.H. Bass Whitney Leather Loafer is a fashion person’s must-have. They’re an editor-favorite for a reason–the quality, the fit, and the finish. It takes a few wears to break in, but once you’re past that stage, these elegant loafers will be you’re new fall go-to.

My pick: J.Crew New Stevie Knee-High Boots ($348)

The fall weather in NYC is unpredictable. One day it’s mid-70s, the next is low 50s. Make it make sense! But my favorite fall outfit formula for the temperamental forecast is a knee-high boot and a mini dress. I tried these J.Crew New Stevie Knee-High Boots in suede black in store a few months ago, and absolutely fell in love. I got to test them out for a few weeks, and they’ve become a fall favorite. The kitten heel is ultra-comfortable, the soft suede looks just as new as the day they arrived, and the midnight black boot is so easy to style.

I’ve paired the knee-high boots with a Theory plaid dress I grabbed from TheRealReal a few years ago. (Plaid is undoubtedly having a moment this fall, ask any Who What Wear editor.) I finished the look with some gold chain bracelets and a Coach shoulder bag.

My pick: Birkenstock Boston Soft Footbed ($170)

I’ll be honest, I never understood the Birkenstock hype—that is, until I tried out the Boston Soft Footbed Clogs. After wearing these for a few weeks, I found them a staple in my work bag. I’d wear them on my commute, switch into different shoes for the workday, then pull these right back out of my bag (Mary Poppins-style) come quitting time. They are, in fact, as comfortable as people say. I’m a big fan of the Basalt Grey Tonal. I think it’s a chic alternative to the traditional beige I often wear. It’s official, I’m a true Birkenstock convert.

I found these clogs a breeze to style. Mimicking their relaxed look, I wore them with like pieces: my Levi 501 Curves, a boatneck long sleeve, and a dark grey turtleneck, draped casually over my shoulders. I recently saw Kendall Jenner style her sweater like so, and I’ve been doing it ever since.

The cult-favorite Frye Campus 14L is a staple in any cool-girl wardrobe. I’ve seen It-girls wearing this boot with everything from micro shorts to midi skirts to retro-inspired flares. The knee-high leather boot is a smart investment in fall footwear. The quality construction and timeless look will have you reaching for these boots for years to come.

I’ve paired it with a thrifted denim skirt, a draped off-the-shoulder Free People top, and a two-tone ring stack. If you’re feeling the boho-chic fall aesthetic, then these boots should definitely be on your radar.

Vivienne Westwood Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

While the Vivienne Westwood team’s spring 2026 collection was shot in a house close to the Champs-Élysées, captured in its light-filled chambres and wild garden, it was just down the road at Christie’s auction house in London where inspiration first took root. There, the late Dame Vivienne Westwood’s wardrobe was on display for auction: her fall 1983 Witches collection, a corduroy suit she wore for decades, Yorkshire tweeds, 18th century samplers. This set the scene for designs made for traversing the English moors, discovering the dark and decay amid the vegetation.

Rococo-style suiting, the impeccably tailored Bettina jacket, mini-skirts, and shorts that recall the Cafe Society collection were remixed in treated denims, windswept silks, and undyed, organic fabrics, with a rumpled and ragtag feel—like a tumble taken in the Garden of Eden. The ever-popular Sunday dress was made in crinkled gauze, and there was a spectrum of kilts in classic and high-octane colored tartans. Soft, airy knitwear sets featured a new take on the ‘Paradise’ print by artist and frequent collaborator Dominic Myatt, depicting a trash-filled, tarnished utopia—a tribute to Westwood’s climate activism and the brand’s continued eco ethos.

Nods to recent runway pieces from Andreas Kronthaler confirmed a growing sense of fluidity for the house, from A.K. to bridal (though, would you believe, the brand’s first-ever bridal-focused show only took place in April 2025?). In the mix were a bag-waisted pair of pants for both men and women, a diaphanous, inky-print jumpsuit, and sequin and trussed-up taffeta evening gowns. The Westwood lens on sportier sensibilities—including a pair of playful, visor-like sunglasses—and a deeper offering of the house’s classic tailoring reflected the wants of a younger audience who have become enamored with Vivienne Westwood through Depop dives and Bella Hadid. The brand has garnered increasing interest from young men, especially, looking for those slashed and remade silhouettes.

Selena Gomez Paired Her Merlot Mani With a Sweaterdress for Maximum Cozy Vibes

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Selena Gomez hath spoken: We’re officially in cozy season. The actor said so (sartorially, at least) when she stepped out for dinner with friends in Santa Monica on October 23 wearing the fashion equivalent of a warm hug.

The newlywed layered a cream coat over an oatmeal-colored crewneck sweaterdress that just kissed her ankles. A supple white leather handbag and woven white Mary Jane ballet flats added to the luxurious textures at play in the deceptively simple look. I know the quiet-luxury trend is a bit passé in the micro-trend-obsessed world of social media, but folks, this is how you do it.

PORJ, EVGA

Splendid Georgie Sweater Dress

Mali + Lili Aria Faux-Leather Shoulder Bag

Micifa Woven Ballet Flats

Gomez’s glam was the icing on the cozy cake. The 33-year-old was heavy-handed with her blush, giving herself the rosy flush of someone who’s just spent an hour in front of an open fire, a glass of red wine in hand. Speaking of wine, her almond-shaped nails were screaming “fall” in a glossy merlot shade that will always be on trend during this, the season of pumpkin spice. And what goes better with a perfectly polished manicure than a whopper of a diamond ring? Two diamond rings.

Tom Bachik, Gomez’s nail artist, recently gave fans a better look at her diamond-encrusted wedding band, which sits next to her massive engagement ring from her husband, Benny Blanco. Some luxury is quiet, but that luxury is screaming.

H&M’s $50 Heeled Sock Boots Look Just Like Designer Ones

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

Recently, there’s been some debate about ankle boots—whether they’re “in” or not. As someone who’s chronically online and works in fashion, I believe I know a lot about this topic, so I want to clarify that ankle boots are not just “in” for 2025, but they’re also everywhere, especially heeled sock boots. Brands like Khaite, Toteme, Reformation, and Docle Vita are all embracing this fall boot trend. Even H&M offers a pair that looks just as luxurious as those from high-end brands and is one of the best designer-passing pieces I’ve come across recently.

H&M’s Heeled Sock Boots are the shoes in question. They are priced affordably at $50, but don’t let that fool you —they look far more expensive, making you think that H&M forgot to add an extra zero to the tag. The ankle-high design features a snug yet stretchy upper that fits like a sock, and the pointed toe adds a sleek and sophisticated touch. The best part is that they come in three color options—black leather, chocolate-brown leather, and brown suede—catering to different styles. I’ll be adding all three to my wardrobe because, together, they cost less than the single designer pair I’ve had my eye on.

Expect these boots to be styled with everything from straight-leg jeans to black tailored trousers. When paired, the look combines polish and ease. The sophisticated, structured boots add a refined touch to relaxed pants. As for what to wear on top? Anything goes—a leather bomber jacket, oversize sweater, or a barn jacket.

Keep scrolling to shop the $50 H&M boots and discover how elegant dressers are styling heeled sock boots with pants for styling inspiration.

Bess Wohl and Whitney White on the Radical Relevance of ‘Liberation’

Bess Wohl and Whitney White on the Radical Relevance of ‘Liberation’

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

A look into America’s political past, Liberation is also a personal story, inspired by Wohl’s own mother, who worked at Ms. magazine during the playwright’s youth. But the Tony-nominated playwright, who made her Broadway debut in 2020 with the comedy Grand Horizons, did not imagine her latest work would be quite so relevant today.

When Liberation opened off-Broadway in February 2025, directed by Tony nominee Whitney White, reviews were rapturous. The women’s fight against the patriarchy resonated with audiences reeling from the rollback of reproductive rights, and whose algorithms were flooded with tradwife content.

“I knew what we had, but you never know,” White says of the play’s reception. “Someone can have a message, but you have to deliver the right message at the right time. And I was like, ‘Is this the right time? Are people ready to hear this? And will they enter the story the way we’re entering the story?’ And as it turns out, it was.”

Audiences related to the story in many respects—to the anger at inequality in the workplace, the fear of losing bodily rights, the frustration with the sluggish pace of progress, and the exhaustion from the ongoing fight. In one scene, a character declares, “I am so hopeful, but I am burned the fuck out,” a line Wohl pulled from one of her interviews.

“She said, ‘By the 1970s I was burnt out on women’s liberation,’ and I thought, wow, the arc of history is so much longer than we realize,” Wohl says. “Already in 1970 women were feeling frustrated, like, ‘When is this gonna happen?’ And I think that that urgency really powers so much of the story of the play.” Present-day activists can relate: While the first Women’s March, held after Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration, counted more than half a million attendees in Washington D.C.—the largest single-day protest in US history—the 2025 People’s March, after his second victory, peaked at approximately 50,000 people.

Why Are ‘The Diplomat’ Sex Scenes So Distractingly Awkward?

by jummy84 October 25, 2025
written by jummy84

We need to talk about The Diplomat. Specifically, the romantic relationships on The Diplomat. And even more specifically, the sex scenes.

The Netflix thriller has been sitting comfortably in the top 10 most-watched TV shows since its third season premiered on October 16, and not since House of Cards has the public been so invested in the juicy inner lives of despicable elected officials. (The fictional ones, at least.) In the series, Keri Russell stars as Kate Wyler, a longtime behind-the-scenes strategist who, in season 3, plays double duty as both the second lady of the United States as well as the US ambassador to the UK. She appears slightly disheveled at all times and is not afraid to put ethics aside for the sake of her preferred outcome. She and her husband, Vice President Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell), also a duplicitous politician, are well-matched antiheroes.

I am a fan of the show. In a world full of flops, The Diplomat is a diamond in the rough, a rare TV series that has me reaching for my phone not because I want to mindlessly scroll on a second screen, but because I want to embark on a Wikipedia deep dive into the Law of the Sea treaty (a real thing!), the Runit Dome (a concrete structure in the Marshall Islands that “entombs” nuclear waste), the politics behind the Scottish independence movement (what’s really behind its failure?), and so on and so forth.

However, when deeply engaging moments like this are interrupted by out-of-left-field dialogue like, “I want to lick you until you scream,” it can feel like a slap in the face. I’m sorry, but what is going on with The Diplomat’s sex scenes?

For the record, I’m not a prude, or one of the Gen Z contingent who believes there’s too much sex on TV (a young millennial, I was raised on Gossip Girl—it takes a lot to shock me). Nine times out of 10, I’m all for a little sexy time on screen. But the relationships between Kate and UK foreign secretary Dennison (David Gyasi), Kate and Callum Ellis (Aidan Turner), and Kate and Hal in season 3 of The Diplomat felt forced in a manner that completely took me out from under the show’s otherwise unbreakable spell.
