10 Fashion Items to Buy in November

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Welcome to 10 Things to Buy, a monthly shopping list that helps you shop smarter by focusing on the 10 key items to add to your cart that month if your wardrobe is in need of a boost. As a Who What Wear editor for the past 11 years, I’ve spent many hours advising people on what to shop for during any given season, so you’re in good hands. Whether you’re shopping for cold weather, warm weather, a vacation, or a wedding, I’m here to offer up the most seasonally appropriate suggestions. Be sure to return at the start of each month for more.

Like it or not, November is here, and cold weather is coming. Before the holiday shopping frenzy begins, I like to take stock of my winter wardrobe and shop for pieces I need before they sell out (which Black Friday tends to make happen). I also like to think ahead to what trips I have booked for the season and order pieces that I know will come in handy when packing for those. For the most part, winter basics are what I recommend buying in November—pieces that you’ll reach for over and over that will make every outfit they’re a part of significantly chicer. Keep scrolling to shop my top 10 November 2025 shopping picks.

Cashmere Sweater

The closer we get to the holidays, the faster the cashmere sweaters sell out. Don’t let your favorites slip away—order them now.

Checked Scarf

Celebrities are suddenly all about the big scarf, Sabrina Carpenter included. Checks are very much in for fall and winter, so my advice is to choose a big checked scarf to make your outerwear look significantly chicer.

When it comes to winter outerwear, I’m team oversize coat. I need to be able to fit a sweater under my coat and maybe even a blazer. The time to secure your new coat is now. It’s getting cold out there.

Truth be told, I’m not typically into slim-fitting jeans, but in the winter, it’s a different story, as they’re the most polished style to wear with oversize coats and sweaters—hands down.

Olivier Rousteing Exits Balmain | Vogue

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Olivier Rousteing has stepped down as creative director of Balmain after 14 years, the house announced today. The news closes one of the longest, most disruptive and most publicly visible designer tenures in 21st-century fashion.

“I am deeply proud of all that I’ve accomplished, and profoundly grateful to my exceptional team at Balmain, my chosen family, in a place that has been my home for the past 14 years. My thanks go to Mr. Rachid Mohamed Rachid and Matteo Sgarbossa for their unwavering belief in me and for entrusting me with this extraordinary opportunity. As I look ahead to the future and the next chapter of my creative journey, I will always hold this treasured time close to my heart,” said Rousteing in a statement.

“I would like to express my deep gratitude to Olivier for writing such an important chapter in the history of Balmain House. Olivier’s contribution and passion over the past years will leave an indelible mark on the history of fashion,” added Balmain CEO Matteo Sgarbossa.

When Rousteing was handed the Balmain job in April 2011, aged 25, he became the youngest non-founding designer to lead a major Paris house since Yves Saint Laurent was appointed at Dior. He was also the first Black person ever appointed creative leader of a heritage French house across all its design categories. During 2012, his first full year in charge, Balmain recorded revenues of €30.4 million and profit of €3.1 million: last year its revenues were estimated at €300 million.

Despite that tenfold fiscal uptick over his tenure, Balmain’s recently appointed leadership is committed to imposing different creative directions in order to drive future growth. The question is whether it will choose to appoint an established designer lead in Rousteing’s stead, or alternatively opt for the high-risk but also high-reward strategy of giving the Balmain platform to a creative as untested as Rousteing was when his story at the house began.

Then unknown outside the industry — and largely unknown within it — he had been working in the Balmain studio under his predecessor Christophe Decarnin since 2009. His appointment was backed by Balmain’s then-owner Alain Hivelin, who had rescued the house from near-bankruptcy: when Decarnin unexpectedly left, Hivelin took a gamble. “I will be forever grateful to Alain Hivelin for his vision, his support and friendship,” Rousteing said after Hivelin’s death in 2014.

Despite being “terrified” at his Spring/Summer 2012 debut, Rousteing steadily built in confidence. From his earliest seasons, Rousteing characterized himself as both custodian to Pierre Balmain’s heritage and disruptor to fashion’s wider conservatism. Alongside high-impact, heavily embellished and, often, critically divisive collections, he developed what he termed the Balmain Army: a collective social-media driven community built around diversity, visibility and direct connection with the public. “When I started to have a lot of diversity in the casting, and when I started to play hip-hop music, some people started to question what I was doing,” he later recalled. “And then Rihanna came backstage and said, ‘You’re changing the rules of this fashion world.’”

The Super Full Beaver Moon In Taurus Is Here

The Super Full Beaver Moon In Taurus Is Here

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Even though this is a super chill and calm Full Moon, the energy can be excitable and erratic for most of us, due to the proximity of the Moon to the Earth. Therefore, we should do grounding activities such as connecting to the Earth. Feeling our senses fill our bodies, savoring tastes, recognizing the sense of touching luxurious fabrics, and hearing relaxing sounds to make us feel calmer. We will be able to find a moment of calm in the world. Self-care is also a key theme, so booking the facial that has been on our wish list is vital. Take a long autumnal walk in the park. Treating ourselves is a suggestible act — get the fancy latte in the morning and don’t feel guilty about the cost. Do you!

Another aspect of this lunation is to embrace fun and pleasure. The Full Moon in Taurus brings a “bring and eat, drink, and be merry” vibe, heightening our desire for indulgence. As a result, we should step into the vitality of life and embrace the comforts surrounding us by listening to good music, being with positive and uplifting pals, enjoying a fantastic spread of food, and unapologetically tapping into our hedonistic passions. All of the wonderful merriments of life are at our fingertips, which is why we should lean into them. Be present and fall into the lovely energy of the Supermoon.

Everything You Missed From Glamour’s Women of the Year 2025 Event

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

Demi Moore was the first honoree to speak, and she gave an inspiring speech about how she learned to tune out noise so she could keep fighting for the projects she believed in. “When I was younger, I was afraid to admit that I don’t know,” she said. “And now, I’ve learned that saying ‘I don’t know’ or ‘I don’t have all the answers’ isn’t a weakness.”

After Tyla praised the kind of village it takes to make a global pop star, Alex Newell took the stage at the Glamour Women of the Year event. The star is about to start their Broadway run in Chicago and graced the audience with a performance of “I Know Where I’ve Been” from Hairspray.

Next up was Rachel Zegler with her own moving speech, followed by Rachel Accurso a.k.a Ms. Rachel. “I know our hearts have room for children beyond our own children and beyond the children of our country,” the latter said to a standing ovation. Read her full moving speech on Glamour.com.

Makeup legend Pat McGrath talked about her childhood as a kid Northampton and thanked her mother for teaching her that “beauty isn’t about color but about identity and self-expression and joy.”

Comedian and podcaster Hasan Minhaj then took the mic to introduce the women of the WNBA. “As a stand up comedian and podcaster, I think everyone knows why I’m here—to honor excellence in athletic achievement,” he joked. The Blue Demon Beacon high school cheer team then entered the room with a rousing call and response. Lexie Hull, Nyara Sabally, and Jonquel Jones were on hand to represent the women of the WNBA.

“You may have heard, but we are in a bit of a negotiation right now,” Hull told the crowd. “We fight our rivals hard on the court, but now we’re fighting for fair pay, safer play, and better resources for every player in the WNBA. Tonight, we want to thank the fans who are standing with us as we make the WNBA the best league in the world.”

The Top 15 Deals at Sephora’s Site-Wide Sale, from Rhode to Merit

by jummy84 November 5, 2025
written by jummy84

I don’t know about you, but when I want to stock up on my favorite beauty products, one of the first places I turn is Sephora. Between the latest innovations in K-beauty and the fresh batches of buzzy makeup launches (ahem, this new sellout-bound Makeup by Mario palette), the only thing that can possibly sweeten the deal is… well, a deal. Luckily, the beauty mega-retailer is playing host to a site-wide sale now until November 10 that can shave up to 30% off your order when you enter the code EVERYTHING at checkout.

Sephora’s Savings Event, which began on October 31, proves that it really does pay to be a Beauty Insider. This rewards program garners up to one point per dollar spent on Sephora purchases, which means that you can rack up points and earn freebies, cash back, and more when you shop for everything from low-maintenance favorites to your everyday must-haves. And starting today, everyone with Insider status (any tier, including VIB and Rouge) can shave up to 30% off literally everything lining the Sephora aisles, both virtually and in-store.

Savings Per Tier Through November 10
  • Rouge: 20% off
  • VIB: 15% off
  • Insider: 10% off

But if you’ve never signed up for an account, don’t fret—you can create a free account today to snag up to 20% off of any and all products on Sephora (and 30% on Sephora Collection goodies). Yes, even the TikTok-viral lip stain you’ve been coveting for months, and the Rhode blush beauty editors can’t stop raving about.

Below, the 15 beauty products that rarely see sales (and that I, as a beauty editor, personally recommend you snag before they’re gone).

The 15 Best Beauty Deals at Sephora’s Savings Event 2025

Rhode

Pocket Blush Buildable Hydrating Cream Blush

Though your discount may vary depending on your Insider status, rewards members can save up to 20% on the viral blush from Hailey Bieber’s namesake brand, Rhode, right now. Bieber has, in GRWM’s past, applied the shade Freckle to her cheeks, lips, and eyes to pull together a chic, minimalist look.

Waterproof 12hr Retractable Eyeliner Pencil - 10-Matte Brown

Sephora Collection

Waterproof 12-Hour Retractable Eyeliner Pencil

You can save the most on Sephora Collection products right now, which is why I (and thousands of Sephora shoppers) recommend adding the brand’s waterproof eyeliner to your bag while it’s slashed by 30%. One reviewer wrote that this liner survived a trip to Niagara Falls, while another gushed that they “have a million eyeliners,” but that this is the only one that stays put in their waterline. “I actually have to remove it at night,” they add.

Missing Person Eau De Parfum

Phlur

Missing Person Eau de Parfum

Phlur makes some of the best perfumes we beauty editors have ever tested, and Missing Person is a personal favorite. A comfortable skin musk tinged with woods and neroli, this scent feels like a hug and smells nostalgic in a warm, familiar way. The perfect cozy fall perfume, IMO.

Solo Shadow Cream Eyeshadow - Iris

Merit

Solo Shadow Cream Eyeshadow

Merit makes some of my favorite cream eye shadows, so I’m naturally adding a shade or two from the brand’s chic lineup during this limited-time sale. The cream-to-powder formula is super easy to blend and great for beginners.

Wonder Blading All-Day Lip Stain - Whimsical

Wonderskin

Wonder Blading All-Day Lip Stain

Who What Wear beauty editor Kaitlyn McLintock fell hard when she tested this stay-put lip stain. The precise applicator makes it easy to sketch on the deep blue formula, which stains the lips where you’d normally apply lip liner for an all-day, no-budge lip look.

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum for Oily Skin

The Ordinary

Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum for Oily Skin

The Ordinary makes some of my favorite drugstore skincare products, and this niacinamide and zinc serum is one every beauty lover should have on their radar. It’s great for people with oily skin and helps improve the appearance of dark spots.

Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo - She Goes to the Gym

Patricka Ta

Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo

I can’t talk about great blush without mentioning Patrick Ta’s Blush Duos. These handy compacts house two highly pigmented blush formulas, one cream and one blush, to create custom blush looks depending on the state of your skin and look you’re going for. (Great for indecisive shoppers like moi, too).

Peptide Lip Tint Nourishing Glaze - Ribbon - Sheer Pink

Rhode

Peptide Lip Tint Nourishing Glaze

I’d be remiss to talk about Rhode standouts without mentioning the ultra-viral Peptide Lip Tints. The formula not only delivers a delectable wash of color and shine, but also cushiony hydration thanks to a blend of shea butter, vitamin E, and, of course, peptides.

Sos Daily Hypochlorous Acid Spray for Breakouts & Redness

Tower 28

SOS Daily Hypochlorous Acid Spray

If you don’t always have time to wash your face between your workout and morning errands (ahem, me), you’ll want to keep this hypochlorous acid spray in your gym bag. This antibacterial and anti-inflammatory formula soothes and shields irritated skin, making it a great touch-up product or extra skincare step when dealing with eczema flare-ups and breakouts.

Lip Sleeping Mask – Intense Hydration Lip Treatment With Vitamin C - Hot Cocoa

Laneige

Lip Sleeping Mask

The internet went feral over this lip sleeping mask from Laneige, and honestly, I totally fell for the hype, too. Except, this deeply nourishing mask isn’t all hype at all—its conditioning formula, full of vitamin C, coconut oil, plus shea and murumuru seed butters, offers up to eight hours of hydration and comes in fun flavors like this holiday-inspired wintry flavor.

On 'til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray

One/Size

On ’til Dawn Mattifying Waterproof Setting Spray

Any makeup enthusiast will tell you that One/Size’s setting spray is the best option for no-budge makeup that will look freshly applied all day long. I depended on this long-wearing, waterproof formula for two weddings this summer and never once required a touch-up.

Ethereal Eyes™ Eyeshadow Palette: Nature

Makeup by Mario

Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette: Nature

It’s rare to snag deals on just-launched makeup products, but that’s exactly what’s happening with Makeup by Mario’s brand-new Ethereal Eyes: Nature palette. This illustrious palette is laden with glistening golds, autumnal coppers, and forest greens that elicit images of the earth under sparkling light, and each shade is perfect for fall makeup looks.

Radiant Creamy Concealer With Hydrating Medium Coverage - Madeleine

Nars

Radiant Creamy Concealer With Hydrating Medium Coverage

I can’t remember the last time I fawned over a concealer like I did with Nars’ Radiant Creamy Concealer—and that was more than five years ago. It’s exceptionally easy to blend, fortified with vitamin E, grape seed extract, and more for under-eye hydration, and supremely buildable for dark circle coverage. Oh, and did I mention it comes in a whopping 30 shades?

Lip Butter Balm Treatment for Hydration + Nourishing Shine - Brown Sugar - Sheer Nude

Summer Fridays

Lip Butter Balm Treatment

Lip Ciggy Sheer Lipstick Balm - First Base

M.Ph

Lip Ciggy Sheer Lipstick Balm

Last but certainly not least is my most recent Sephora obsession: the M.Ph Lip Ciggies, the brainchild of celebrity makeup artist and brand founder Mary Phillips. While you can also snag the MUA’s newly launched underpainting palette (the method she’s famous for using on Kendall Jenner for a natural-looking chisel), I’d recommend getting your hands on these slender, sheer lipsticks before they sell out. Easy to throw in a bag or pocket, these lipsticks are about the size of a thick cigarette and offer the prettiest wash of color.
