Ashley Tisdale wonders ‘is everyone using Ozempic except me?’

by jummy84 October 22, 2025
written by jummy84

21 October 2025

Ashley Tisdale feels like “everyone’s either on a GLP-1 drug or talking about starting it”.

Ashley Tisdale doesn’t judge people using Ozempic

The 40-year-old star finds it “exhausting” trying to keep track of changing beauty standards – but Ashley insists she won’t judge anyone who uses weight-loss drugs like Ozempic.

She wrote in a blog post on ByAshleyFrench: “A few years ago, almost nobody in LA would admit to using Ozempic. I’d hear whispers about people doing “the jab,” and then I learned that some people were using diabetes medicine off-label to lose weight. But it was all very mysterious and nobody was super-open about it.

“Times have changed. Now it feels like everyone’s either on a GLP-1 drug or talking about starting it. I’m all for transparency and openness, but I’ve had moments when I’ve wondered, Is everyone using Ozempic except me?

“To be clear: I have absolutely ZERO judgment toward anyone using Ozempic or other similar medications. Zero. Just like with plastic surgery or any other personal decision about your body, I believe it’s yours to make. If a shot helps you feel healthier and more comfortable in your body, I fully support that. These drugs can be life-changing, and for many people, they are truly transformative.

“But when I see people who are already thin signing up for it, I can’t help but think of how body trends keep shifting. (sic)”

Ashley observed that beauty standards have changed markedly over recent decades. And Ashley suggested that online commentary is having a really unhealthy influence on some women.

The actress explained: “In the 2000s it was big boobs, then suddenly flat chests were in. The 2010s brought body positivity, and now it’s like we’re back to chasing ultra-slim everything. We keep moving the goalposts and it’s exhausting.

“What makes it harder is the nonstop online commentary. People pick apart bodies on the internet in ways they’d never dare say to someone’s face. Speculating (“is she pregnant?”) and critiquing (“she looks gaunt!”) is treated like it’s normal, but it’s not. All of it leaves people feeling like no matter what they do, they’ll be judged. You really can’t win. Which is why, at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is how you feel in your own body.”

bitchy | The state of California will sell its own affordable insulin for $11 per pen

In 2020, the California legislature set up CalRx, a signature program for Governor Gavin Newsom which he envisioned as a way to reduce ever-increasing health care costs by cutting Big Pharma out of the process. CalRx was finally funded in 2022, and by the next year the state had contracted a nonprofit manufacturer to produce long-acting insulin. After a couple years in development, CalRx has announced that starting in January they will be selling insulin pens to pharmacies for $45 per five-pack, who in turn will make the packs available to patients with a suggested retail price of no more than $55 a pack. What’s the comparison to packs offered by Big Pharma companies? Anywhere from $89 to $411. Big Pharma, working for the profits; Big Govt, working for the people.

Rx to the rescue: The insulin pens will be supplied through the CalRx program, an initiative launched under Newsom in which the state contracts with manufacturers to produce generic pharmaceuticals. The pens, which people with diabetes use to control the level of insulin in their bodies, will be the same as other long-acting insulin on the market. They will come with a suggested price for consumers of no more than $55 for a pack of five — a significant discount from current prices.

Doing the right thing: “California didn’t wait for the pharmaceutical industry to do the right thing — we took matters into our own hands,” Newsom said in a statement announcing the new drug. “No Californian should ever have to ration insulin or go into debt to stay alive — and I won’t stop until health care costs are crushed for everyone.” The announcement establishes California as the vanguard among states for ways to keep health care affordable in a system dominated by for-profit companies and underscores the Golden State’s ability to leverage the scale of its massive economy and buying power.

The scrooges making our medicine: The cost of insulin has come down since it was a major political issue in 2017 when the top manufacturers of the drug — Eli Lilly, Sanofi and Novo Nordisk — were accused in a class action lawsuit of dramatically raising prices each year. A prescription that had cost patients $25 had ballooned to $300, the lawsuit claimed, and politicians latched on to the issue as an example of the pharmaceutical industry run amok. In 2024, the federal government brought a suit against pharmacy middlemen, also accusing them of contributing to the ballooning cost of insulin.

A new deal: Under the CalRx deal, pharmacies in California will be able to purchase the 5-pack of insulin pens for $45 and sell them to patients at the suggested retail price of $55. Similar products from name brand companies cost pharmacies between $89 and $411, according to state figures.

Naloxone is next: Through CalRx, the state has also contracted to provide a cheaper version of the naloxone, which can reverse an opioid overdose. And earlier this year Newsom announced plans to work on bulk-purchasing asthma medication. He has also floated the idea of using CalRx to either produce or stockpile abortion medication.

[From Politico]

Damn, between this and California recently banning loud ads on streaming platforms (ok, less life and death but still important!) I’m feeling downright nostalgic for my home state! As the fifth fourth largest economy in the world, this is exactly the kind of ballsy move California should be making. To paraphrase Newsom (to exaggerated effect), we’re all gonna die waiting for Big Pharma to do the right, humane thing. Even when it comes to lifesaving medicine. So that’s why we need government to advocate on our behalf rather than try to kill us.

Daniel “Danya” Naroditsky, best known as the chess grandmaster who could play the game blindfolded, died on October 19, 2025, his family and the Charlotte Chess Center announced. He was just 29. Since the announcement noted that his death was “unexpected,” many want to know what led to the young chess player’s death.

“It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Daniel Naroditsky,” the statement from Naroditysky’s family read. “Daniel was a talented chess player, commentator and educator and a cherished member of the chess community, admired and respected by fans and players around the world. He was also a loving son and brother and a loyal friend to many.”

Below, read on to learn what we know so far about Naroditsky’s life and death.

Who Was Daniel Naroditsky?

Naroditsky was a chess grandmaster, commentator and author from San Mateo, California. He was raised by his parents, Vladimir and Lena, Jewish emigrants from the former Soviet Union. Naroditsky learned how to play chess when he was 6 years old by his father.

Upon proving a knack for playing chess, Naroditsky spent his childhood improving his skills and winning the Under-12 section of the 2007 World Youth Chess Championship in the 2013 U.S. Junior Championship.

Naroditsky was officially awarded the grandmaster title when he was 18. He also built a YouTube and Twitch following after becoming a success chess player and published author.

How Did Daniel Naroditsky Die?

A cause of death was not immediately disclosed by Naroditsky’s family nor the Charlotte Chess Center. However, their original announcement noted that he died unexpectedly.

Fellow chess grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik, took to X to seemingly discuss the aftermath of Naroditsky’s death. In one tweet on October 20, 2025, Kramnik tweeted, “Too high price paid, but if I was the only person shouting about obvious long term problems of Danya becoming alarming, requiring urgent measures from people around, while ‘friends’ only cared about hiding it and erase evidence, its rotten to the core.”

On October 20, Vladimir alleged that Naroditsky looked “like something ‘very else’ than sleeping pills [sic].” Two days prior, Vladimir tweeted a photo that read, “Don’t do Drugs,” on October 18.

No one from Naroditsky’s family has publicly commented on Kramnik’s tweets at the time of publication.

What Happened to Daniel Naroditsky?

Since his cause of death has yet to be revealed, the details of Naroditsky’s final days are unclear, though rumors of him being found dead at home have circulated.

Naroditsky was living in Charlotte, North Carolina, after having moved there in 2020.

Kenny Loggins demands Trump remove his song from AI ‘poop’ video – National

by jummy84 October 21, 2025

Kenny Loggins is speaking out against U.S. President Donald Trump using his song Danger Zone in an AI video posted to his Truth Social account in response to the “No Kings” protests over the weekend.

In a statement shared with Variety on Monday, Loggins, 77, demanded that his song be removed from the AI video showing Trump in a fighter jet dropping what appears to be fecal matter on “No Kings” protesters.

“This is an unauthorized use of my performance of Danger Zone. Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video is removed immediately,” Loggins said in the statement.

“I can’t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us. Too many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together,” Loggins continued.

“We’re all Americans, and we’re all patriotic. There is no ‘us and them’ — that’s not who we are, nor is it what we should be. It’s all of us. We’re in this together.”

Loggins said that he hopes “we can embrace music as a way of celebrating and uniting each and every one of us.”

The Loggins song featured in the AI video was famously used in the 1986 Top Gun film, which is what the AI video appears to be paying homage to.

In response to a request for comment on the video, a representative for the White House reportedly sent Variety a Top Gun meme that read: “I feel the need for speed.”

Millions of people marched and rallied in cities across the U.S. on Saturday for “No Kings” demonstrations, decrying what participants see as the government’s swift drift into authoritarianism under Trump.

People carrying signs with slogans such as “Nothing is more patriotic than protesting” or “Resist Fascism” packed New York City’s Times Square and rallied by the thousands in parks in Boston, Atlanta and Chicago.

Demonstrators marched through Washington and downtown Los Angeles and picketed outside capitols in several Republican-led states, a courthouse in Billings, Mont., and at hundreds of smaller public spaces.

The official White House account on X reacted to “No Kings” day by sharing an image of Trump and U.S. Vice-President JD Vance wearing crowns above an image of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Sen. Chuck Schumer wearing sombreros.

‘No Kings’ protests aimed at Trump call for end to authoritarian rule

Trump’s Republican Party disparaged the demonstrations as “Hate America” rallies, including U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The “No Kings” coalition responded to Johnson’s comments, referring to the protest as the “Hate America rally” and blaming it for “the ongoing government shutdown.”

“Speaker Johnson is running out of excuses for keeping the government shut down. Instead of reopening the government, preserving affordable healthcare, or lowering costs for working families, he’s attacking millions of Americans who are peacefully coming together to say that America belongs to its people, not to kings,” the group said, adding that they will “see everyone on October 18.”

Story continues below advertisement

The “No Kings” protests first took place in hundreds of American cities on June 14 during a military parade in Washington that marked the U.S. army’s 250th anniversary, which coincided with Trump’s birthday.

The protests were held to counter what organizers said were Trump’s plans to feed his ego on his 79th birthday (which was also Flag Day). The “No Kings” theme was orchestrated by the 50501 Movement — which stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement — and is made up of members of the American public who say they stand for democracy and against what they call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration.

Protesters have called for Trump to be “dethroned,” as they compare his actions to those of a king and not a democratically elected president.

“They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services,” the group says on its website, referring to the Trump administration and its policies. “They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.”

Allison Williams refutes nepo baby label

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

21 October 2025

Allison Williams doesn’t accept the nepo baby label – insisting she put in the hard work before making her breakthrough as an actress.

Allison Williams insists she had to work for her acting career despite her nepo baby status

The Girls star – who is the daughter of former NBC news anchor Brian Williams and TV producer Jane Gillan Stoddard – has faced accusations that she is a nepo baby, but explained that she spent plenty of time working behind the scenes on movies and TV shows instead of “being hatched out of an egg” and getting roles.

In conversation with Girls co-star Andrew Rannells for Interview magazine, Allison said: “That is exactly what people picture for nepo babies, and they’re not that wrong. But there were some stops along the way.

“Before I started acting professionally, I did several jobs on sets in support positions. One of them was being Tina Fey’s second assistant the summer she was shooting 30 Rock.

“I was also a PA, technically an intern, on A Prairie Home Companion, which was Robert Altman’s last movie. That was a stacked cast. I learned so much from that job.”

The M3GAN star continued: “And then I was the utility stand-in on the pilot of Boardwalk Empire, the summer going into my senior year of college. That was a job that I got from family connections. It’s not a level playing field.

“This girl shows up and is hired, not because I was a good height for this show – sometimes I was on apple boxes. (Martin) Scorsese deserved better, but here he was with me.

“But every one of these roles was an opportunity to see the machinations of a set, to understand how the rhythm of the day works. Where there’s tension, you can feel it.

“And I found myself, as I was shooting the pilot for Girls, so grateful not to be learning everything at the same time.”

Allison finds acting to be a “stressful” career, even though she has the “safety netting” that most other performers do not, thanks to her parents’ background.

The 37-year-old star said: “It’s stressful. One of the things that is true about nepo babies, certainly for me, is that there was a floor through which I was not going to fall.

“There was safety netting, and that fundamentally changes your risk calculation.

“But a lot of people, when they’re deciding to become actors, have to really fortify themselves against the fight that’s coming, the years and years of rejection, trying to figure out how to pay the bills. I certainly got luckier than most.”

Joe Jonas Denies Using Cocaine Onstage

by jummy84 October 21, 2025
written by jummy84

Joe Jonas is sticking with cake by the ocean.

After a TikTok video featuring the “Work It Out” singer appearing to fidget with his nose during a recent Jonas Brothers concert went viral, fans began to speculate that he may have been using cocaine on the side of the stage.

However, Joe, 36, firmly put a stop to the rumors with an unflinching declaration about his drug use—or lack thereof—telling Esquire in an interview published Oct. 21, “I’ve never touched cocaine in my life.”

In addition to the firm denial, Joe noted that taking the stimulant in front of thousands of fans during the Greetings From Your Hometown Tour wouldn’t exactly be subtle.

“If I did,” he continued, “I think I’d be a little slicker about it than doing it onstage.”

Shortly after the video in question began circulating online in September, Joe—who shares kids Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2, with ex-wife Sophie Turner—offered a more playful take on the situation, commenting on the post, “lol you never had a booger?”

Stephen A. Smith Says Court
Confrontation w/ LeBron James Was A Calculated ‘Set-Up’: I Don’t Like His @ss’

#StephenASmith is standing ten toes down on his hatred for #LeBronJames.

In an interview on 7PM in Brooklyn with #CarmeloAnthony, the sports and political commentator spoke about his years-long feud with LeBron, saying, “I don’t like his *ss, not even a little bit. You do not understand the lengths this man would go to.”

Stephen continued, “This dates back more than a decade. I believe he’s one way publicly and another way privately. He might not be interviewed and he might not be quoted, but the things he says and the things he has said to people — it’s gotten back to me, the things he’s tried to do. If it were up to him, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Remember when LeBron confronted Stephen earlier this year during a game between the #Lakers and the #Knicks over comments made about his son and teammate, #BronnyJames? Well, Stephen feels that was a calculated move on LeBron’s part. “It’s some low, low sh*t. The day that he rolled up on me courtside, it was the day my contract was announced — that I had stayed at #ESPN,” Stephen explained. “Go back and look at the camera angles. I arrived there in the first quarter. He rolled up on me in the third quarter. This is 2025. We’ve got technology everywhere. #TNT is a nationally televised game. How is it we got one angle, and the only angle you see was of him and his face?”

Smith added that he felt “set up” by the entire ordeal.

Does Stephen A. have a point, or is he dragging the drama?
