Sometimes, when I’m looking at photos of Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter, it really does feel like photo-editors used face-swapping technology. They really do look similar, and Sophie really resembles a younger version of her husband. Anyway, Sophie skipped her husband’s American promotion for The Roses, but she came out for the London premiere last night. This is the film where Benedict and Olivia Colman play a British couple going through an extremely contentious divorce in California. As for Sophie and Bendy, do you realize that they’ve been married for a decade? It’s true, they married on Valentine’s Day 2015. A decade and three kids later, Bendy recently revealed his marriage secrets:

Benedict Cumberbatch credits one “rule” to keeping his marriage with wife Sophie Hunter strong. During his appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast alongside his The Roses costar Olivia Colman, the 49-year-old actor opened up about what irritates his family members.

“Being away from home p—– them off,” the actor said during his episode, which released on Thursday, Aug. 28. Because being apart from his wife of 10 years and their three children also upsets Cumberbatch, he’s implemented a “two-week rule” to keep their bond tight.

“It p—–me off too, so we try and do as much to make that not the case — the two-week rule, and try to work as hard as possible on making work happen here nearer home so I can get home, or take them with me,” Cumberbatch said.

A lot of actors try the two-week rule, but it’s difficult and it does limit the kind of projects they take on. It does explain a lot of Benedict’s career in the past decade though – a lot of smaller, British productions which few people paid attention to. Which is fine – it’s clear that his priority is being a husband and father now. He’s got three young sons, Christopher (Kit), Hal and Finn. I think they gave their sons cute and short first names because “Cumberbatch” is a pretty CUMBERsome surname.

Moneybagg Yo and Ari’s recent date isn’t the first time they had the internet sending heart eyes. Back in July, fans were here for Bagg’s birthday shoutout for his Queen’s 30th birthday. The ‘Said Sum’ rapper made it clear that they are so locked in by thanking Ari for holding him down throughout their six year relationship.

Moneybagg’s message wasn’t the only thing that grabbed attention, additionally a video of Ari flexing a huge icy diamond ring surfaced. How Is He Doing After 2025 Car Accident? – Hollywood Life

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and disbarred lawyer, was involved in a car accident in New Hampshire on August 30, 2025, which resulted in his hospitalization. The 81-year-old was helping a domestic violence victim, according to his representative, and a vehicle subsequently hit him from behind. Colleagues, peers and supporters of Giuliani naturally wondered how he was recovering and what happened to him.

Below, get updates on Giuliani’s condition and overall health.

What Happened to Rudy Giuliani? How Car Accident Occurred

On August 30, 2025, Giuliani was hit by a vehicle from behind after assisting a victim of domestic violence in New Hampshire, his spokesperson and head of security, Michael Ragusa, announced.

“Prior to the incident, [Giuliani] was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident,” Ragusa explained in his public statement. “Mayor Giuliani immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911. He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety. Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed.”

Ragusa added that the Republican “was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg” as a result of the accident.

At the time of publication, it’s unclear who struck Giuliani on the road. However, Ragusa insisted in a separate tweet that this was “not a targeted attack.”

Giuliani was “recovering tremendously” and was in “good spirits” after sustaining injuries, Ragusa tweeted on August 31, 2025.

Aside from his 2025 car accident injuries, Giuliani experienced a previous health scare. In April 2000, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was 55 at the time and made a full recovery.

To combat the cancer, Giuliani opted to get radioactive seeds implanted in the prostate, then he underwent double radiation instead of undergoing surgery, per NBC News.

The 45-year-old star – best known for playing Marc St. James in the hit dramedy series – applied for the role 20 years ago with his friend after spotting the position advertised in the Village Voice magazine.

But while his pal did not get chosen due to health problems, Michael was taken on.

He told Chelsea Handler – who “tried” to get a job as a marijuana tester “so many times” – on a recent episode of her Dear Chelsea podcast: “It was in the Village Voice, and it was a joke.

“We would always joke about it like, you know, they have these ads in the Village Voice, ‘Are they real?’

“And I just answered one. And actually, my good friend, my dearest friend, and I, we were roommates, and we both answered it. And he had this kind of like brain thing.

“It’s not that serious, but at the time, he was like having some seizures and stuff. And so he did not get accepted. And he was so p***** because he had this one little tiny anomaly, and I did get accepted.”

Michael said the experience of testing strains at different strengths was “wild”.

He continued: “And I would go in, it was wild. It was a wild thing. I would go into a hospital, and I would sit in a hospital room, and it was a double blind test.”

The Single All the Way star said he even got “high as f***” and “paranoid” when he did the trials.

Michael added: “So the person administering it to me did not know what they were giving me. And it was always a different level of strength.

“So like one time, I got just high as f***, and I was so stoned, and I was like loopy, like rolling around in the hospital and playing with all the different things.

“This young lady stayed with me, and she made sure … I remember when I would get really high, the days I would get really high, I’d be like, I think it’s double blind, but maybe it’s not. Maybe that’s just what they say.

“And I get paranoid, and then I would take these tests. So they would put me in front of a computer, and I would take these cognitive tests that would be like, a shape would pop up, it’s a triangle or whatever, and fill in the blank.

“Sometimes I was really good at it, and sometimes I wasn’t.

“And then there were days when it was like a placebo.”

And the Shrinking star said marijuana helps him to learn his lines.

He said: “It’s true when you’re stoned that you don’t remember things.

“But I have started, well, I’ve been doing it for a while now, but when I have to learn lines, like a big chunk of text or something, or a scene, I will do it high.

“I will learn it high.

“And then immediately when I’m high, and I try to, if I say, ‘Will you run this with me?’ I won’t be able to do it.

“But then when I go back to it later, sober, it’s there.”

“It all depends who you’re with,” Taylor said in, “If they have a serious issue with it, I guess you’ll hide or whatever, but I don’t really like that, because it makes me feel like I’m running from the law or something. I don’t want to feel like a fugitive, like, ‘Oh my god, we’re having a relationship, better hide!’

“I feel like if you can be in a relationship and have it seem normal, that would be good.” 

And in his WSJ interview, Travis proved he’s more than ready for the pressure that comes with being married to someone as powerful as Taylor.

“Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them…I’ve never dealt with it,” he said. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.”

“The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life,” he added. “When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”

Denzel Washington has been doing a lot of promo for Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, which I still haven’t seen. Sidenote: I find Spike Lee’s late-career work fascinating, but one of two extremes – either he’s making one of the best movies in his filmography, or one of the worst. Y’all will have to let me know which one H2L is. In any case, Denzel is doing a lot, and I think that’s out of respect for Spike, because otherwise, he probably wouldn’t bother at this point. In the past year especially, Denzel has sounded “over it,” to put it politely. He’s over the industry, he’s over the awards seasons, he’s over the hustling. As it turns out, he’s even over watching movies.

Denzel Washington joined GQ for a video interview with his “Highest 2 Lowest” director Spike Lee and co-star A$AP Rocky and made the surprising revelation that he no longer watches movies. The two-time Oscar winner admitted it may be because he’s just made too many of them. Washington has well over 40 film credits under his belt after starting his career in 1981’s “Carbon Copy.”

“I don’t watch movies, man. I really don’t,” Washington said. “I’m just being honest with you! I don’t watch movies! I don’t go to the movies. I don’t watch movies. … I’m tired of movies. Yeah.”

When Lee asked Washington how many movies he’s made, the actor responded: “Too many. I think 50!”

It might be the situation of “I do this all day, I don’t want to do it during my off-hours.” Which is sort of who I’ve become too, in a much smaller way than Denzel. I write and read about pop culture, royals and celebrities all day for my job – on my off-hours, I just want to watch tennis and decompress, not slog my way through a new movie or show every other night. It’s bad, I know. I do watch new stuff, btw, but I’ve become more fickle. In Denzel’s case… he’s been in so many movies, he’s directed and produced, he’s done it all and worked with so many people. I can totally see how he’s reached an age where he just doesn’t care anymore.

He’s alive! Leave it to Guillermo del Toro to bring back Frankenstein in a new, eerily creative way. Coming to Netflix in late 2025, the new Frankenstein movie has a star-studded cast, and it’s based directly on author Mary Shelley‘s 1818 novel of the same name.

“The most important figure from English legacy is, incredibly, for me, a teenager by the name of Mary Shelley, and she has remained a figure as important in my life as if she were family,” Guillermo said, according to Netflix’s Tudum. “And so many times when I want to give up, when I think about giving up, when people tell me that dreaming of the movies and the stories I dream are impossible, I think of her.”

Frankenstein Movie Release Date

Guillermo’s Frankenstein will debut on Netflix on November 7, 2025. The film had its world premiere on August 30, 2025, at the Venice International Film Festival.

During Netflix’s Tudum 2025: The Live Event, the trailer for Frankenstein dropped. Though it’s a brief compilation of scenes, fans can hold onto it for now as they wait for an official release date.

Though the monster-creating story tends to take on a more horrific side in Hollywood renditions, Guillermo said his version is not a thriller.

“Somebody asked me the other day, ‘Does it have really scary scenes?’ the filmmaker said during a conversation at the Cannes Film Festival with composer Alexandre Desplat. “For the first time, I considered that. It’s an emotional story for me. It’s as personal as anything. I’m asking a question about being a father, being a son … I’m not doing a horror movie — ever. I’m not trying to do that.”

Frankenstein Netflix Cast

The Frankenstein 2025 cast features some of the biggest names in show business. Oscar Isaac is playing the main role of Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi is Frankenstein’s monster and Mia Goth is Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor’s fiancée.

Yes, there are all kinds of speculation about the wedding date, the maid of honour and the best man. And yes, she’s currently the odds-on favourite to perform the Super Bowl halftime show. But believe it not, there are plenty of other albums coming out this fall. Here’s a round-up of what to expect beyond Sept. 1.

September 5

Big Thief, Double Infinity (4AD)

Big Thief is an interesting band whose style is tough to categorize. This sixth album was recorded over just three weeks at Power Station, NYC’s famous studio.

David Byrne, Who is the Sky? (Matador)

A few weeks ago, David Byrne dashed everyone’s hopes about a Talking Heads reunion. No one in the group seems all that interested in getting back together, Byrne especially. Why? He’s got so much going on. This record, recorded with The Ghost Train Orchestra, is his 11th solo record (Talking Heads released only eight studio albums). I’m impressed with what I’ve heard so far.

Shame, Cutthroat (Dead Oceans)

Shame is a South London five-piece post-punk band with an impressive following and critical acclaim. It’s a noisy record for a noisy world. We need that.

Suede, Antidepressants (BMG Rights Management)

Suede appeared in that tiny gap between Madchester and Britpop and have been able to navigate things for more than 30 years. This will be their 10th album.


September 12

David Bowie: I Can’t Give Everything Away (2002-2016) Parlophone

Fans will recognize the title of this collection as the title of a song from his final studio album, Blackstar, released just hours before Bowie’s death in 2016. This is a massive box set (the sixth in a series) that will feature 13 CDs and 18 pieces of vinyl. Like the title says, it will cover material from his Heathen album (2002) right up to Blackstar and come with an 84-page hardback book. The best pre-order Canadian price I’ve seen is $265.

King Princess, Girl of Violence (Section 1)

If you haven’t discovered New York’s Mikaela Mullaney Straus yet, this might be the album that does it. She can already sell out medium-sized venues based solely on word of mouth. She is a hero of the lesbian and genderqueer community. This will be here third album.

September 19

Buckingham Nicks, Buckingham Nicks (Rhino)

The long-lost album featuring Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, released a few years before they joined Fleetwood Mac. I used to see this one in the delete bins back in the ’70s, but time can heal such wounds.

Nine Inch Nails: Ares Soundtrack (Interscope Records)

Both NIN and Tron fans were sent into ecstasy when they heard that Trent Reznor and partner Atticus Ross had been commissioned to write the soundtrack for the latest in the franchise. Can they do better than Daft Punk with Tron: Legacy in 2010? Based on what I’ve heard so far, I think so.

Lola Young, I’m Only F—ing Myself (Island)

Lola is a fascinating English singer. She’s won or been nominated for numerous awards in the U.K., but also has a history of schizoaffective disorder that was diagnosed in 2017 when she was 17. Lola also has issues with vocal cord cysts, which have hampered her ability to tour.

September 26

Robert Plant, Saving Grace (Nonesuch)

Plant has long left Led Zeppelin behind. In fact, when he tours this record, he won’t be doing any Zep songs because he says that music isn’t related to what he’s doing today. This will be his first true solo album since 2017.

XTC, Drums and Wires (Steve Wilson Dolby Mix) (Ape House)

XTC were meticulous perfectionists in the studio. What will this 1977 release sound like in a multi-channel ATMOS form?

October 3

AFI: Silver Bleeds the Back Sun… (Run for Cover)

Although most people know AFI as the Northern California band that had a hit with their cover of Don Henley’s Boys of Summer, fans will know that they’re up to their 12th album. Word is that it’ll feature some rockin’ stompers and a song or two with obvious Goth vibes.

Oasis, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory (Big Brother)

Oasis isn’t missing a trick when it comes to generating revenue from their reunion tour. From $155 T-shirts sold at gigs and pop-up stores to this 30th anniversary edition of their second album, they’ll find a way to service their rabid fanbase. I don’t think they’re bothered by releasing this on the same day as Tay-Tay’s The Life of a Showgirl.

October 10

The Antlers, Blight (Transgressive)

Antlers release some of the saddest, most heart-wrenching, and frankly depressing songs I’ve ever heard (if you want to see what I mean, check out their 2010 album Hospice). This album will probably continue in that vein. What else can we believe when the first single is entitled Carnage?

If you’ve ever thought, “There’s not enough Yoko in my life,” you’re in luck. All of John and Yoko’s unreleased collaborations have been collected in one box set. It will contain 12 CDs featuring 90 never-before-released tracks from demos, home recordings, live performances and more. Expect to spend north of $300 for this one.

Just Mustard, We Were Just Here (Partisan)

My interest in this experimental Irish band has only grown with each single they’ve released. This third album could be the one that results in a breakthrough.

The Lemonheads, Love Chant (Fire)

Against all odds, Evan Dando is still chugging along. After once again disappearing from sight, this record (the first since 2019) is the 11th album from the band, a legacy that stretches all the way back to 1986. This will go nicely with a new memoir titled Rumor of My Demise, which will also be released in October.

November 7

Finger Eleven, Last Night on Earth (Better Noise Music)

Has it really been 10 years since the last Finger Eleven album? Yes, but the hiatus is coming to an end. We’re promised “a big rock record,” according to the band.

Sorry, Cosplay (Domino)

More interesting British indie music. Sorry comes from North London and was scooped up by Domino, home to groups like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, My Bloody Valentine, Wet Leg and dozens of other cool indie groups from around the world. The moment I see that a band has a deal with Domino, I’m interested.

White Lies, Night Light (Fiction)

I discovered White Lies, a modern-sounding Joy Division London band, about 15 years ago. They’ve sort of fallen off my radar, but I’ve made a note to check out their seventh album.

The Beatles, Anthology Collection (Capitol/Apple/UMe)

There seems to be an endless supply of material for the countless number of Beatles fans. This is a remastered collection of the original three Anthology collections of rarities and outtakes released in 1995 and 1996. This time, Giles Martin, son of George, has brought the audio up to date for 2025. Alas, this collection will not contain Story of Carnival of Light, a mythical, unreleased, never bootlegged track from the Sgt. Pepper era, which has legendary status amongst Beatlemaniacs. It remains locked away in the Abbey Road archives.

Danko Jones, Leo Rising (Sonic Unyon)

If there’s a Canadian band that rocks as honestly, authentically, and as hard as Danko Jones, I haven’t heard them. The 11-track 12th album promises to be as loud, rowdy, and beer-soaked as the other 11.

  • JET: Still untitled. First album in 15 years.
  • Megadeth: Still untitled, but Dave Mustaine says that this will be the last album.
  • John Mellencamp: Orphan Train, his 26th album.
  • Social Distortion: Still untitled. First album in 11 years.
  • Sublime: Still untitled. Jakob Noel, the son of original singer Bradley Nowell, who died of an OD in 1996, is the new frontman.
