Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness.

Graham Greene, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Kicking Bird in Dances With Wolves, has died aged 73 after a long illness

The Indigenous star, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1991, passed away on Monday (01.09.25) in a Toronto hospital, his representative confirmed.

Graham, born on 22 June 1952, had enjoyed a decades-long career across film, television and stage, often praised for breaking barriers for Indigenous actors in Hollywood.

His representative told Deadline: “He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed.”

He added: “You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,” referencing Greene’s longtime agent, who died in 2013.

Graham, who was of Oneida First Nation and Canadian descent, grew up on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario.

Before turning to acting, he worked as a welder, draftsman and steelworker.

His television debut came in 1979 with a part in The Great Detective, and his first film role followed in 1983’s Running Brave.

Graham’s career breakthrough arrived in 1990 with Kevin Costner’s epic Dances With Wolves, in which his portrayal of the Sioux medicine man Kicking Bird earned him an Academy Award nomination.

In a past interview with CineMoovie, the actor recalled the challenges of filming, including being thrown from a horse during production.

He said: “I wanted to get payback on the animal rather than take a break from filming.”

Graham also spoke about the difficulty of learning Lakota for the part, saying: “I couldn’t figure out how they ordered their language. Its structure is totally foreign to English or French.”

The star went on to appear in a wide range of roles, from comedy— – such as his recurring part in The Red Green Show – to dramas including The Green Mile (1999), in which he played Arlen Bitterbuck opposite Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Other credits included roles in Maverick (1994), Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Transamerica (2005), The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game (2017).

More recently, he appeared in Tulsa King alongside Sylvester Stallone and in HBO’s The Last of Us.

Graham’s accolades included a Grammy, a Gemini and a Canadian Screen Award, as well as a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.

Earlier this year, he was honoured with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award in Canada.

He also has a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.

One of his final screen appearances was in FX’s Reservation Dogs, a series that continued his legacy of championing Indigenous storytelling.

His last completed project is the upcoming thriller Ice Fall, starring Joel Kinnaman, which is scheduled for release on 16 October.

Graham married Hilary Blackmore in 1990.

He is survived by Hilary, their daughter Lilly Lazare-Greene, and his grandson Tarlo.

Following news of his death, tributes poured in on social media, with floods of his fans saying he would be missed forever.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Step Out for First Time Since Announcing Their Engagement

Taylor Swift’s engagement ring designer is sharing an inspiring message.

Days after the “Bejeweled” singer announced that she and Travis Kelce are set to exchange vows, Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry detailed the journey that led her to craft the breathtaking diamond.

“My name is Kindred Lubeck,” she said in a video posted on Instagram Aug. 29. “I’m 30 years old, I started making jewelry in the summer of 2019. I was 25.”

From there, the jeweler encouraged viewers to follow their passions no matter what.

“I believe that if someone says you can’t do something, you should prove them 110 percent wrong,” she continued. “I think when one door closes, you should kick the next one down. I think that if you have a dream, you should never, ever quit.”

Kindred ended the video with a message of gratitude to her followers—which included a nod to a track from Taylor’s 2010 album Speak Now.

Naomi Osaka Eliminates Coco Gauff At The U.S. Open To Reach Her 1st Major Quarterfinal Since 2021

#NaomiOsaka is back!?

She cruised past #CocoGauff (No. 3) 6-3, 6-2 to reach her first #GrandSlam quarterfinal since 2021! The No. 23 seed looked sharp and composed, barely losing a serve on her way back to the top stage.

In a post-match interview, Naomi expressed:

“I just had so much fun out here. I was in the stands like, two months after I gave birth to my daughter, watching Coco. I just really wanted an opportunity to come out here and play. This is my favorite court in the world and it means so much to me to be back here.”

Naomi Osaka Defeats Coco Gauff At US Open, Scores Major Win

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Naomi Osaka smiled before her US Open showdown against Coco Gauff began on Labor Day (Sept. 1) — and after it ended. Between points, Osaka patted her left thigh and quietly told herself, almost in a whisper: “Come on. Come on.” Ultimately, that encouragement led her to reach her first major quarterfinal in over four and a half years.

What Naomi Osaka Said After Winning Against Coco Gauff

Once the ball was in play, Osaka’s strokes were loud and on-target. According to the Associated Press, the tennis champ had the confident, consistent, and power-swinging tennis that carried her to four Grand Slam titles and the No. 1 ranking. Monday’s game was Naomi’s biggest statement yet that she is back on top of her game. She’s previously taken time for her mental health and new motherhood.  In the Labor Day US Open match, Naomi Osaka eliminated Coco Gauff 6-3, 6-2 in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

“I was super locked-in, to be honest. I was really locked in,” Naomi Osaka said. “I felt like everyone wanted to watch a really great match, and I hope that’s what you got.”

Details About Each Player’s Game Energy

According to the AP, Naomi Osaka brought her A-game in Monday’s match, while Coco Gauff was on B-game. Coco, for example, made repeated mistakes on the court that cost her. She finished with 33 unforced errors — way more than Naomi Osaka’s 12.

Additionally, her body language was reportedly different from Osaka’s. Coco Gauff came out jittery at the start. Her problematic serve was fine; other strokes were the problem. Also, Gauff repeatedly put her palms up, covered her face with a hand, or gestured toward her team in the stands. At points, she looked confused or upset.

Meanwhile, Osaka’s serving and returning were terrific. She won 32 of the 38 points she served — 15 of 16 when first serves landed in. She also never faced a single break point and converted all four break chances she earned.

Ultimately, AP writes that the key difference between the tennis players is that Naomi Osaka used her big forehand, her best stroke, to go after Coco Gauff’s forehand, her worst stroke. The strategy clearly paid off. By the end of the first set, Coco Gauff had made 16 unforced errors and Osaka only five. By the end of the match, 20 of Gauff’s unforced errors were off the forehand side.

Naomi Has Won Against Coco Before

It was at the French Open in 2021, after the Australian Open, that Naomi Osaka helped spark a global conversation about mental health. At the time, she revealed she felt anxiety and depression and took a series of breaks from the tour.

Before winning against Coco, Naomi’s most recent trophy at Melbourne Park was the last time she had made it to the fourth round at any major in recent years. The first came at Flushing Meadows in 2023, and the second at the French Open this June. Osaka returned to the tour last season after a 17-month maternity leave. Her child, Shai, was born in July 2023.

“I’m a little sensitive, and I don’t want to cry, but, honestly, I just had so much fun out here,” said Osaka.

Naomi Osaka first played Coco Gauff back at the 2019 US Open and won that one, too.“I was in the stands like two months after I gave birth to my daughter, watching Coco. I just really wanted an opportunity to come out here and play,” Osaka told the crowd on Monday. “This is my favorite court in the world, and it means so much for me to be back here.

Why Did Camila Cabello Leave Fifth Harmony? Find Out – Hollywood Life

Why Did Camila Cabello Leave Fifth Harmony? Find Out – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

A possible Fifth Harmony reunion was not in anyone’s 2025 bingo card, but lo and behold, the famous group’s reunion is rumored to be underway — yes, without Camila Cabello. This rang true when the remaining four members performed at an August 31, 2025, Jonas Brothers concert in Dallas, Texas, to perform “Worth It” and “Work From Home.” Camila’s absence from the group’s reunion comes as no surprise since the “Señorita” hitmaker left Fifth Harmony in 2016, which, at the time, seemingly caused a rift between her and them. No one could ever forget when the group had a Camila lookalike body double jump offstage at the 2017 VMAs. Moreover, Camila is currently on a world tour.

So, why did Camila leave Fifth Harmony in 2016? Below, we’re breaking it all down for you.

Did Fifth Harmony Reunite in 2025?

Yes, the remaining four members of Fifth Harmony — Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui — reunited for one night during a Jonas Brothers tour concert in Texas in August 2025.

Previously, The Hollywood Reporter, reported that the band members were in talks to reunite sometime this year.

Why Did Camila Cabello Leave Fifth Harmony?

Camila’s overall reason for leaving Fifth Harmony was to pursue a solo career. During a March 2024 interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the “Cry for Me” artist recalled how she gradually “started distancing” herself from Fifth Harmony.

“I can remember waking up on tour, and going to my hotel room at like 7 a.m. and going to my garage band, and like writing songs, ’cause I didn’t want to do it while everybody was there, and I had such a passion that turned into writing,” Camila explained. “And at first I was like, ‘Oh maybe I wanna write for other people.’ But then it turned into like, ‘No, actually I want to sing these songs by myself.’ … I started distancing myself from the group vision, and it felt like you know they were still really passionate and into that and so, I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore, it doesn’t feel aligned.’”

Nevertheless, Camila pointed out that she “grew a lot in that group” and she remains grateful for her time with them.

Is Camila Cabello Still Friends With Fifth Harmony?

Camila revealed in 2022 that she was in a “good place” with the rest of her former bandmates. At the time, she told Reuters that they were “supportive of each other through, like, DMs and stuff.”

Sir Richard Branson ‘deeply saddened’ after rising star chef dies in crash on billionaire’s island retreat

Sir Richard Branson has been left “deeply saddened” after executive sous chef Sihle Somdaka died in a buggy crash on his Caribbean retreat Necker Island.

Sir Richard Branson has been left ‘deeply saddened’ after executive sous chef Sihle Somdaka died in a buggy crash on his Caribbean retreat Necker Island

The 75-year-old entrepreneur was not on the island at the time of the incident but has been in close contact with staff and the chef’s family, according to reports.

Sihle, aged 37 and originally from Cape Town, South Africa, was found fatally injured late on Friday (29.08.25) after apparently losing control of an electric buggy shortly after leaving a farewell party at the island’s Great House.

A source told The Sun: “Sir Richard wasn’t on the island when the incident occurred but has been in close contact with the family and the Necker Island team.”

They added the billionaire was “deeply saddened” by the tragedy.

The crash took place just before midnight, as Sihle drove down a steep hillside in one of the resort’s buggies.

Island medics attempted CPR before a doctor was flown in from neighbouring Moskito Island.

He was then transported by boat to Peebles Hospital on Tortola, where he was pronounced dead from a head injury.

Police in the British Virgin Islands have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. A source told The Sun staff on Necker Island are working closely with local authorities to establish what happened.

Another insider alleged there had been “a culture of excess” at the luxury resort.

They said: “They’ve had very many close shaves and near misses over the years… it was only a matter of time, but it should never have happened.”

Sihle was described as a rising star in the culinary world.

The father-of-two had worked in high-end restaurants across the Middle East, including in Doha and Kuwait, before securing a position on Branson’s £95,000-a-night private island.

Days before his death, Sihle shared images on social media of himself enjoying the beaches and jet skis at Necker Island, captioning one photograph: “Caribbean life.”

Chloë Grace Moretz is officially a Mrs.

The Kick-Ass actress married Kate Harrison in a private ceremony over Labor Day Weekend following seven years together, the couple confirmed to Vogue Sept. 1.

And while photos of their nuptials have yet to be revealed, Chloë and Kate—who confirmed their engagement back in January—did provide glimpses at their gorgeous custom Louis Vuitton looks designed by Nicolas Ghesquière leading up to the big day.

“When we got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to reach out to Nicolas and Louis Vuitton [to] see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress,” Chloë told Vogue in a video published Sept. 1, “and got a very overwhelmingly excited response from Nicolas that not only would he be willing to make my wedding dress but he also wanted to include Kate in that—and to make both of [the] wedding dresses and our after-party looks.”

And the results went above and beyond her expectations. To head down the aisle, Chloë, 28, opted for an “old Hollywood-inspired” baby blue wedding dress that featured ruffle detailing and spaghetti straps.

Yung Joc’s Wife Opens Up About Him Fathering A Child w/ Another Woman While They Were On A Break

Kendra Robinson isn’t shying away from her truth.

In a recent sit-down with #CarlosKing, Kendra opened up about the heartbreak of her now-husband, #YungJoc, fathering a child with another woman while they were on a break. Although she acknowledged that they weren’t together at the time, technically giving Joc the freedom to make his own choices, she still described the situation as “reckless.” Kendra also noted: “I forgave him, but what I don’t allow [Joc] to do is allow me to carry a burden that’s not for me.”

What are your thoughts on what Kendra shared? Could you forgive your significant other for welcoming a child during a break?

Meet All of His 6 Children – Hollywood Life

by jummy84 September 1, 2025
written by jummy84

Paul Newman was an Oscar-winning actor, who starred in a wide array of movies throughout his career. While he only won one Academy Award (for his performance in The Color of Money), he starred in many critically-acclaimed films, including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Cool Hand Luke, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Throughout his career, he was married twice, first to Jackie Witte, and then to Joanne Woodward. He had six children all together. He had three kids from each of those marriages. He died in 2008, after a battle with lung cancer.

Paul and Joanne’s daughter, Melissa, has written a book chronicling her parents’ love story, per Today. She wrote Head Over Heels: Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman: A Love Affair in Words and Pictures. Get to know more about Paul’s kids here.

Scott Newman

The late Scott Newman was born on September 23, 1950. He was the only son of Paul Newman, who the actor had with his first wife, Jackie Witte. By 1958, his parents had divorced, and his father had married his second wife, Joanne.

In the 1960s, Scott dropped out of college to pursue a life in the entertainment industry. He had tried to become an actor, per Esquire. He had attempted to become a stuntman, changed his name to William Scott, and attempted to be a singer. His most noteworthy role was that of Duke in 1975’s The Great Waldo Pepper, though he did have roles in The Towering Inferno, Breakheart Pass, and Fraternity Row.

Scott was 28 when he fatally overdosed in 1978. He was taking painkillers following a motorcycle accident, and with his tendency to drink, the mixture of pills and alcohol led to his early demise. In a 2010 article for The Sunday Times, writer AE Hotchner relayed a conversation he had with Paul Newman. “Hotch, you’re as good a friend as I’ve got,” said the acting icon. “I had to let all of this out of me, or I’d explode. There’s nothing you can say that will repair my guilt about Scott. It will be with me as long as I live.”

Following his son’s death, Paul Newman established the Scott Newman Center, aimed at helping healthcare professionals and teachers educate children about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.

Stephanie Newman

Born in 1951, Stephanie Newman “leads a quiet life away from the family business,” according to a 2015 article in Vanity Fair. Though Stephanie, as a child, made a few appearances alongside her father, she has grown up relatively outside of the spotlight. Not much is publicly known about her, and it appears that’s the way she likes it.

Susan Kendall Newman

By 2015, Susan Kendall Newman was a “former actress and award-winning television producer who supplies media and production services for nonprofit organizations,” according to Vanity Fair. Suan, born in February 1953, appeared in an uncredited role in her father’s film, Slap Shot, and in I Wanna Hold Your Hand (a 1978 film about six teenagers desperate to see The Beatles) and A Wedding.

Since walking away from the acting world, she has since “served as the Executive Director of several nonprofit organizations specializing in alcohol and drug abuse prevention, and then in child welfare,” per her IMDB profile. “She has lectured all over the world, promoting awareness on issues affecting the well-being of families and children. She continues to work for nonprofit organizations to redefine mission, increase funding and visibility, as well as providing film and video services.”

In 2015, she lashed out against Bob Forrester, the head of the Newman’s Own Foundation. “Some family members may be angry at me for speaking out,” she told Vanity Fair. “But I feel like the Newman family has been taken hostage by Bob Forrester. I think Mr. Forrester has forgotten that it is a privilege and enormous responsibility for him to preside over my father’s legacy and carry out his wishes. He seems to be more interested in self-aggrandizement and lavish trappings. My father would never support many of the things he is doing.”

Forrester told Vanity Fair that this characterization of him is “totally untrue.”

Nell Newman / Nell Potts

Elinor Teresa Newman, born on April 8, 1959, is the first child of Paul Newman and his second wife, Joanne Woodward. She worked as a child actor in the 1960s and 1970s under the name Nell Potts. She appeared in the title role of Rachel, Rachel, playing the character as a child. She also appeared in The Effect of Gama Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, a film about “a middle-aged misfit struggles to raise her daughters, one popular and the other a promising science student.“

Nell co-founded and ran Newman’s Own Organics – a branch of Newman’s Own — until 2014. In 1993, while working as the  Director of the Ventana Wilderness Sanctuary in central California, Nell had the idea to create an all-organic division of her father’s Newman’s Own.

Following her father’s death, Nell had a falling out with Newman’s Own. Newman’s Organics was prevented from releasing new products because Newman’s Own Inc. may want to release a competing item. In 2014, Nell’s licensing agreement to her father’s name and image expired. She was then barred from working for the company. Instead of jeopardizing the livelihood of Newman’s Organics’ 30 employees, she turned the company over to Newman’s Own, Inc., per Vanity Fair.

Nell founded the Nell Newman Foundation in 2010 “with the goal of carrying on her father’s legacy of charitable giving, coupled with her passion for the environment. She has been married to Gary Irving since 2005.

Melissa Newman

The second of Paul and Joanne’s daughters, Mellissa Newman, was born on September 27, 1961. Like her siblings, she dabbled in the acting world, appearing on episodes of TV shows Hawkins and The New Perry Mason and in movies like See How She Runs, Mr. & Mrs. Bridge, and Sometimes A Great Nation.

Melissa married Raphael P. Elkind in November 1995. They have two children together – sons Peter and Henry – and she reportedly volunteers at a women’s prison in Connecticut.

She penned the 2023 book Head Over Heels about her parents’ love story. The book is compiled of rarely-seen photos, letters, and other writings about her parents’ relationship. “These striking images—many rare and some never before published—are accompanied by snapshots, letters, handwritten notes, and family treasures,” the book’s description states.

Claire Newman

Paul’s youngest child is Claire “Clea” Soderlund. Born in April 1965, Clea has worked in the entertainment industry – but on the other side of the camera. She was a production consultant on Big Little Lies, per her IMBD profile. She also worked in post-production on The Big C, Mad Men, and Raising The Bar. She was a co-producer on the 2020 series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels and an associate producer on Big Little Lies, Sharp Objects, and The Big C.

It’s unclear when Clea married Kurt Soderlund. And like the rest of her family, Clea “has long been involved in philanthropy in Westport and beyond,” per Vanity Fair.

“From a very young age, our parents taught us that being a good citizen in your community and giving back should be a priority if you were as lucky as we were,” she told Vanity Fair in a statement. “I am very proud to be a part of his legacy…. It is a special gift and an honor.”
