From Fresh Season To Fatherhood: Travis Hunter Steps Into A New Chapter

Travis Hunter is leveling up with everything brand new. The 22-year-old is about to kick off the football season with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a wide receiver, and he’s stepping into fatherhood too. Travis and his wife Leanna Lenee recently welcomed their first child. They shocked social media when they announced their son’s arrival in a YouTube video back in August. The heartfelt footage shows them prepping for their baby boy, sharing ultrasounds, Leanna’s growing baby bump, and even moments leading up to her giving birth.

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards started and ended with a bang! Some of the music industry’s most recognizable names in pop, rock, hip-hop and more genres came together to perform, present and accept their own awards — and we’ve compiled the entire winners list right here. In addition to the annual VMAs categories, including Best Album, Video of the Year and Best Group, MTV also gave special awards out to a select handful of artists.

Receiving the first-ever Latin Icon Award, Ricky Martin dedicated the win to his fans and pointed out how long he’s been chipping away at show biz.

“Thank you so much because it’s been 40 years. I started when I was a baby, and we’re still here,” the “Livin’ lad vida loca” hitmaker said during his speech. “We just want to unite countries, we just want to break boundaries. We just want to keep music alive.”

MTV also bestowed its Rock the Bells Visionary Award to Busta Rhymes and the highly coveted Video Vanguard Award to Mariah Carey. Ariana Grande presented her with the trophy and even bowed before her on stage.

Brendan Gleeson worries about social media

The 70-year-old actor is concerned about online algorithms that seemingly work to isolate people and stressed the importance of spreading kindness and bonding through connections and experiences.

He told The Sunday Times’ Culture magazine: “It’s making people seem hideous to each other. If I do a project that makes people somehow feel less alone, that’s the gift. I think most people want to be good people, I think they’re happier when they are. Kindness always reverts to feeling better about yourself.

“We need to keep reiterating this to young people.”

The Banshees of Inisherin star has read untrue things about himself online and tries to get inaccuracies corrected.

He said: “I didn’t actually train as an actor. Somebody put it up on Wikipedia. I told them to take it down a hundred times. I started doing it with a group of fellas in secondary school. And a group of the lads started up a theatre group afterwards. That’s how I started doing it, building sets and seeing how lights work.”

The Harry Potter star – who has four sons including wife Mary – began his acting career while also teaching English in secondary schools and recalled how “alarming” his first screen jobs were when he took the leap to act full time.

He said: “I didn’t know anything about film. So I had to do [the Irish soap opera] Glenroe to find out what happens when the camera goes on my face, which was very alarming.”

Although Brendan believes it has always been a “hard” profession to break into, he advised aspiring actors to create their own opportunities and embrace regional theatre, however small the potential audience.

He said: “It’s always been hard but what I always say to people is, put on your own [show]. Don’t wait for anybody. One of the few good things that happened with the [Celtic] Tiger [economy] was they built a whole load of regional little theatres. It’s an opportunity for people to start writing contemporary stuff and writing stuff that’s relevant to this particular generation.

“Put them on in these places. People are craving it, they want the connections. People will come. If the stuff is good and entertaining and it’s about their lives, they will come.”

Mariah Carey‘s latest achievement was far from a fantasy.

After all, the “Obsessed” singer accepted the highest achievement at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 7: the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

With over three decades in the music industry, 16 solo studio albums and six Grammy wins, Mariah was honored with the lifetime achievement award by Ariana Grande. With the singer winning her first-ever VMA this year for her track “Type Dangerous,” she had a special message for the award show.

“I just had one question,” Mariah—who earned her first of nine nominations in 1996—began. “What in the Sam Hill were you waiting for?”

It was all in jest, however, with her quickly adding, “I’m kidding. I love you!”

As Mariah accepted the award, she reflected on her attendance at the award show, including her presenting host LL Cool J with his Vanguard Award in 1997 and opening the 1998 ceremony with a “faux standoff” with Whitney Houston.

Y’all, wait?? Brittany Mahomes is only 30 years old? Why did I think she was in her late 30s? Brittany celebrated her 30th birthday this week, meaning she’s a Virgo. Brittany had a girl-squad b-day party in Nashville, and she invited Taylor Swift. Taylor came for the party, or one of the parties. It doesn’t look like Taylor stuck around for very long though – just a brief appearance, drop off a gift, take a couple of photos and have a glass of wine, then Tay got out of there.

Last year, there was a larger conversation about Taylor’s politics and Brittany’s politics and all of that. Like, Taylor was blamed for normalizing or accepting Brittany’s MAGA lunacy. I felt a bit sorry for Taylor, because to me, it looks like she’s being nice to the wife of her fiance’s closest work colleague. Of course, I also think Taylor doesn’t mind hanging out with Brittany, but make no mistake, they’ve barely seen each other in months and their friendship seems scheduled around football season.

One nice thing I’ll say about Brittany is that it seems like she has a core group of girlfriends and it also looks like she “treated” them to her lavish, multi-day birthday celebrations. It’s interesting to see Taylor as the “third wheel” in someone else’s clique. That’s probably why Taylor skedaddled pretty quickly.

Young Thug has the internet scratching their heads after he dropped a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, September 7. The rapper shared, “Chapter ended” with a red heart, and now fans are speculating that he and Mariah The Scientist have gone their separate ways. Thugger’s post hit while his leaked jail calls keep blowing up online. If you’ve been keeping up, Thug has been trending nonstop after fans heard him mentioning Gunna, YSL, Future, Drake, and even GloRIlla in past calls.

In a new leak, he admits to past cheating, sending folks straight to Mariah. In the call, he mentions that he told Mariah a photo a woman posted in his condo was old, but chile it was just days before he was arrested on May 9, 2022. As if that wasn’t enough, another call surfaced with him telling an unknown woman he “loves her” and asking “what age she plans on having kids.” Her response? “When he comes home.”

Here’s What Mariah Said While Fans Wait For Confirmation

As for where Mariah The Scientist and Young Thug stand? The jury’s still out there. Neither has confirmed anything, but Mariah did drop lyrics from her own song, ‘Rainy Days,’ on her Instagram Story, which appears on her new album, ‘Hearts Sold Separately.’

“I was naive, not ignorant. So much for my innocence now. Love me, leave me, let me down. I put forth an open heart and I’ve been hurt. Looking back in retrospect that ain’t what I deserve. Want it back in blood, and blood I’m going to get. And still I pray for love instead of common sense.”

Prior to Mariah sharing her lyrics on IG, Thugger came through with an apology for his baby. He admitted that she deserves better and is willing to make it work. He also told folks on social media to fall back and leave her out of everything involving him.

“My baby I was wrong and I’m sorry for what I put u through. U deserved better from me. Thank you for everything and I will do anything to make this work. U showed me what love is and I hope I haven’t lost u forever… everybody leave her out of this please she’s an innocent girl and feels bad about all of this. Please give her [peace].”

Apparently, yes! Aaron revealed in a June 2025 press appearance that he got married at some point. When asked if the ring on his finger was an indication of something, the Pittsburgh Steelers player confirmed, “Yeah, it’s a wedding ring,” adding that he got married to his wife “a couple months ago.”

During a previous appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Aaron noted that he was in a “serious relationship” but refrained from calling it a marriage.

“I’m in a different phase of my life. I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship,” the athlete said in April 2025. “I have personal commitments I’ve made … and people in my inner circle battling difficult stuff.”

Aaron has not confirmed the identity of his wife, but he previously confirmed that he was dating a person named Brittani in December 2024. Multiple outlets have also reported that Aaron’s wife’s name is Brittani.

The Roses actress has developed an inflammatory condition called “geographic tongue”, which is harmless but looks “gross” and has been sharing pictures of the inside of her mouth with a friend who has the same issue.

Discussing the last picture she took on her phone, she told People magazine: “I took a photo of my tongue and sent it to an actor friend of mine.

“We both have the same medical condition. It’s called geographic tongue. Your tongue sheds in patches and looks like an atlas, hence the name ‘geographic tongue.’

“It’s gross. We brag about how geographic we are on any given day. Maybe I shouldn’t be saying this in a magazine.”

The 41-year-old star loves developing new skills and is very hands-on when it comes to DIY in the home.

She said: “I put up these faux-beams on my bedroom ceiling. I sourced the wood and cut it and oiled it and treated it for bugs and installed it and fixed it and it took me three years. But the skills I gained will last a lifetime. I love skills…

“I just bought a portable band saw that electricians and plumbers use to cut metal-threaded rod, copper pipe, etc. Whenever I have to cut metal I’m sweating and grunting with a hacksaw. I’ve wanted one for about a year and I woke up today and I was like, ‘Today’s the day.’ “

Kate has also learned to ferment vegetables after growing “obsessed” with an obscure vlog.

She said: “I am obsessed with the lifestyle vlog of a family in the mountains of Azerbaijan who grow and prepare copious amounts of gorgeous food. There is no dialogue. The mother, Aziza, has these big hands and these giant enamel bowls and she’ll just punch out a batch of dough for 80 meat pies.

“She pickles 100 pounds of cucumbers with the ease that most people chew gum. Her rolling pin is five feet long. I’m not sure who’s eating all the meat pies.

“You can lacto-ferment any vegetable by putting them in a big clean jar with water to cover and then you weigh all that and subtract the weight of the jar, and then multiply that by .035 and then add that amount of salt (by weight), shake it up and let it sit for 7 days. I’ve been fermenting. Aziza made me do it!”

Katherine, the Duchess of Kent, passed away at the age of 92. She passed away at home in Kensington Palace Thursday night (9/4), and Buckingham Palace announced her death on Friday. I wondered aloud if the Windsors were going to use some obscure rule to avoid giving the Duchess a formal royal funeral, but it looks like they’re really pulling out all the stops. It will be the first Catholic funeral mass of a member of the British royal family in modern history, apparently. The funeral is scheduled for September 16th.

The funeral of the Duchess of Kent will be held at Westminster Cathedral on 16 September, with the King and Queen among the senior royals who will be in attendance, Buckingham Palace has announced. The duchess, Katharine, died on Thursday aged 92, prompting tributes for her kindness and support for tennis and music – including working as a primary school music teacher.

The duchess was a Catholic and there will be a Requiem Mass for her funeral, which will be the first royal Catholic funeral in the UK in modern history. It will be a private family service, after which the coffin will be taken to the royal burial ground in Frogmore in Windsor.

The duchess, who had been the oldest member of the Royal Family, died in Kensington Palace and her coffin will remain in the chapel there until the evening before the funeral, when she will be brought to Westminster Cathedral. In the Catholic tradition, there will be a service to mark the reception of the coffin into the cathedral, attended by her close family, with the duchess being survived by her husband, the Duke of Kent, and their two sons and a daughter. The coffin will remain in the Lady Chapel overnight, before the funeral the following day.

This first royal funeral at Westminster Cathedral, at 2pm on Tuesday 16 September, will be presided over by Cardinal Vincent Nichols, with the Anglican Dean of Windsor participating, before accompanying the coffin to Frogmore.

I wonder if the family will also want a wake, another Catholic funeral tradition. As you can imagine, too many people are already making the Duchess of Kent’s death all about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry is arriving in London soon, or he’s already in the UK at this moment. Will he “stay” for the funeral? I would say… probably not, but there’s already a lot of speculation that he could. The Mirror said that King Charles and Queen Camilla will definitely attend Katherine’s funeral, as will some of the other members of the royal family.

Harry apparently “privately sent his condolences” to the Duchess’s family, his people confirmed to several outlets. There’s no conversation about postponing the WellChild Awards, like they had to do in 2022 when QEII died. Interestingly enough, one of the Duchess’s rare public outings in recent years was to Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding. She wore sneakers and seemed especially happy for them. She was very close to Princess Diana. Speaking of, Prince William and Kate paid tribute to her with a statement published on Twitter.
