When asked if she regrets anything she did on Rise and Fall, Aahana Kumra said, “No, I think maine jo bhi show mein bola hai, gusse mein hi bola hoga. Lekin kyunki mujh par kuch cheezein beet rahi thi, toh mujhe uss waqt bolna jaayaz laga. It must not have been taken very nicely by a lot of people. But jab maine show ke baahar nikal kar dekha ki logon ne mere baare mein kya kaha hai, toh maine actually unke baare mein kuch aisa kaha hi nahi tha.”

She revealed watching YouTube and Social media reels. Aahana recalled, “Maine reels pe dekha hai, maine bahut YouTube videos dekhe hain. In fact, maine aise-aise videos dekhe hain jahan maine woh shabd use bhi nahi kiye the, aur woh daale gaye the YouTube par.”

She revealed that the makers of Rise and Fall created such content. The actress said, “Makers ne daale. Unhone woh videos daale aur phir meri un makers ke saath baat bhi hui. Kyunki woh log clickbaits ke liye daalte hain woh. Kuch cheezein sirf clickbait ke liye daali jaati hain. Aur jab main show se baahar nikli, then I had a lot of death threats and rpe threats. I had a lot of rpe threats. Maine screenshots bheje hain makers ko ki mujhe aise-aise threats mile hain. Toh aise threats mujhe kyu aa rahe hain? Maine toh aisi koi baat ki bhi nahi. Maine na kisi ko gaali di hai show mein.”

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari box office day 3: Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy opened to a mixed response on October 2, and has managed to hold its ground at the box office. According to the latest update, the film has raked in ₹22 crore till now.

As per trade tracking site Sacnilk, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari the film registered business of ₹7.25 crore, taking the total business to ₹22 crore.

The film had an overall 22.72 per cent occupancy in Hindi on Saturday. When it comes to the morning shows, the registered footfall was 11.99 per cent, with afternoon shows seeing 27.20 per cent footfall. The evening shows saw 28.96 per cent footfall.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari collected ₹9.25 crore on its opening day. The film saw a decline on its second day, earning less than half of what it made on Day 1. The film collected only ₹5.5 crore. However, it picked up on day 3.

The film is holding steady despite tough competition from Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, which has minted over ₹155.19 crore. However, it has surpassed the lifetime collections of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh’s Mere Husband Ki Biwi ( ₹12.85 crore) and Loveyapa ( ₹8.85 crore).

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the romantic comedy narrates a story of Varun and Janhvi teaming up to make their exes, Sanya and Rohit, jealous. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics, with some praise for the humour and performance, but criticism for the film’s pacing and overall impact. The film opened to ₹9.25 crore net in India on Dussehra, which is higher than some recent Bollywood romcoms, but a letdown considering the film’s festive release. The film clashed with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1.

Produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra, with Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi and Abhinav Sharma in supporting roles. An excerpt from the Hindustan Times review reads: “You wish the film had more of this spark, but such moments are few. Varun and Janhvi look good together, yet the story itself lacks surprises. You can predict its moves from a kilometre away. The only person fully invested is Varun, who has mastered these goofy characters to the point of effortlessness. He is the one who keeps you in your seat.”

For those unaware, Anshula Kapoor will soon get married to her longtime boyfriend, writer-director Rohan Thakkar. The two had made their relationship official on social media some time back. The Kapoor family turned up in stunning ethnic attires for the celebration. Sonam was seen entering the venue in a mustard yellow ensemble. Shanaya, on the other hand, wore a red traditional ensemble with patterned detailing on the front.

Khushi donned beige saree with pink stone detailing, whereas Janhvi beige lehenga. The family clicks also comprised Janhvi’s boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya, alongside the Kapoor clan.

We have just left the leftovers for you.” Hearing this, Ayushmaan casually revealed, “I remember eating Katy Perry’s leftover cake.” Archana paused for a moment before Kunal jumped in, asking in disbelief, “Katy Perry’s leftover? How?”

Ayushmaan explained, “Yes, you heard me right. I ate Katy Perry’s leftover cake. When I was working at Dharma Productions with Karan Johar, he hosted a huge party at his house where Katy Perry was present. The cake-cutting happened past midnight, so very few people ate it. The next day, he sent the leftover cake to the office and said, ‘Jisko bhi khaana hai khaa lo’ (anyone can eat). I sat down and ate it.”

Veteran Actress Sandhya Shantaram Passes Away

Veteran actress Sandhya Shantaram has passed away at the age of 94. Her last rites have been performed at Shivaji Park Crematorium today morning. The actress was known for starring in various Hindi and Marathi movies, many directed by her husband V Shantaram. From the 1950s to the 1960s, her most notable movies include Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1958), Navrang (1959), Marathi film Pinjra (1972) and Amar Bhoopali (1951).
The cause of her death hasn’t been revealed yet. Her family hasn’t opened up about her demise publicly.

Sandhya had begun her journey in the film industry with the movie Amar Bhoopali.  She was discovered by V. Shantaram himself. She also starred in the movie Teen Batti Char Raasta (1953), where she played an impoverished girl named Kokila. For her role in Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, Sandhya underwent intense classical dance training to do justice to the role. The movie went on to win four Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Interestingly, much of Sandhya’s journey in the film industry has been with her husband. She starred with him in Do Aankhen Barah Haath, where she played the role of toy seller Champa. She was seen in Navrang as the wife of a poet. Sandhya gracefully danced in the song Arre Ja Re Hatt Natkhat, which went on to become a huge hit.

She also starred in Stree (1961), which showed Shakuntala’s journey from the Mahabharata. Sandhya had to prepare filming with lions as some of the scenes used real animals. Her last major role was in the Marathi movie Pinjra.

After that, her major public appearance was during the V. Shantaram Awards ceremony in 2009. She commemorated the 50th anniversary of Navrang at the event.
