Many have pointed out that “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” is not a religious naat but rather a poem that is widely taught in schools across the subcontinent as a “bache ki dua,” or a child’s prayer. One supporter clarified, “She is not making fun of Muslim naat. What @aneetpadda_ and her friend are making fun of is called bache ki dua by Muhammad Iqbal. It’s a form of poetic dua/prayer. It’s recited in schools mostly.”

Others have echoed this sentiment, emphasising that the poem’s universal themes of hope and aspiration transcend any single religion. “This is just poetry,” commented one user, while another urged for calm, writing, “Don’t Be Misguided Guys No Hate For Her ❤️.” The debate has highlighted a cultural and linguistic nuance, with the distinction between a “naat” and a “dua” being a key point of contention.

This controversy comes at a time when Aneet Padda’s career is on a steep upward trajectory. Her debut in “Salaam Venky” (2022) was followed by a role in “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” but it was her lead role opposite Ahaan Panday in “Saiyaara” that catapulted her to nationwide fame.
