Shah Rukh Khan’s fans from all across the country were waiting with bated breath outside his Mumbai residence, Mannat, to catch a glimpse of the superstar. Every year on his birthday, he greets his fans from Mannat. However, this year, SRK will not be stepping out to greet them. The actor took to social media to share that he has been advised by the authorities to not do so, owing to safety issues.

His tweet read, “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me.

My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues. Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all…”

However, fans supported SRK’s decision and praised him for choosing safety over chaos. One reply to this tweet read, “It’s easy to forget safety matters even for the biggest stars. People see the glamour, not the chaos that comes with it. Missing a moment hurts, sure. But walking away alive to meet your fans another day that’s the only thing that really counts. The king stays behind the curtain tonight. Streets waiting, hearts humming, a pause instead of a performance. Love delayed, not denied. That’s how loyalty feels when it meets responsibility. Another response read, “So sad to hear this but your safety is the most important thing, enjoy your birthday and stay safe. On day 11, it earned ₹3 crore [Hindi: ₹3 crore], and on day 12, ₹4.4 crore [Hindi: ₹4.38 crore; Telugu: ₹2 lakh]. On day 13, the film earned ₹3.85 crore nett in India, as per early estimates. So far, it has collected ₹119.65 crore.

About Thamma

Thamma is the fifth instalment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. It also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. The story revolves around Ayushmann’s character, who turns into a vampire and falls in love with Rashmika’s character, leading to a “bloody love story” full of twists. He plays a meek journalist who transforms into a vampire-like figure.

What Ayushmann had spoken about Thamma

Speaking to news agency ANI, Ayushmann had said, “I am feeling good. Validation by the public is the biggest validation…For me, this is the biggest opening of my career and hopefully my biggest film as well.”

The actor revealed that what drew him to the film was the opportunity to step beyond his usual “guy next door” roles. “In this film, the generic character that I have played in my earlier films, which is a guy next door, from there, the transition towards becoming a vampire or a superhero-like characteristics, I have done that for the first time. So, I was very excited for that. Because I am a big fan of this universe…” he had added.
