Mahhi Vij’s Comeback After Divorce Rumours: Coincidence Or Calculated PR Timing?

Mahhi Vij’s Comeback After Divorce Rumours: Coincidence Or Calculated PR Timing?

by jummy84 November 7, 2025
written by jummy84

For those who have followed Indian television long enough, the return of Mahhi Vij to the small screen after nearly nine years should have been a moment of quiet celebration. But what made her comeback news stand out wasn’t just her re-entry into fiction TV—it was the oddly convenient timing of the story, coming just after a swirl of divorce rumours involving her husband, Jay Bhanushali.

Now, to be clear, there’s no evidence that the rumours were planted or manufactured. But there’s a pattern here—one that’s worth examining. Every few months, we see a similar cycle unfold: a celebrity slips into relative silence for years, then suddenly finds their name back in the headlines over a personal controversy, only for a new project or announcement to follow shortly after. It’s a rhythm that feels too familiar to be entirely accidental.

Mahhi Vij, who rose to prominence with Laagi Tujhse Lagan and Balika Vadhu, has long been one of television’s familiar faces. But over the last decade, she consciously stepped away from fiction television, focusing on family life and reality appearances with Jay. So when news broke recently that her marriage was on the rocks, many were quick to speculate. Articles cited “sources” claiming the couple had deleted each other’s photos, that Mahhi had demanded alimony—stories that gained traction across entertainment portals and social media, despite lacking any real verification.

Then, almost as quickly as the story had peaked, Mahhi released a video message on her vlog. Calm but firm, she called out the false reporting and clarified that there was no truth to the divorce rumours. “Until I speak, no one has the right to interfere in our personal lives,” she said, asserting that she had never demanded alimony and barely knew what the word meant.

Then, Mahhi Vij comes with a caveat

And then came the twist — Mahhi announced her return to television. She shared that she would soon be seen in a new series titled Seher Hone Ko Hai, admitting that she initially refused the role because she wasn’t ready to play a mother to a grown-up child. But with time, she changed her mind. “When I said yes, I decided I’ll give it my all. Whether it’s a mother or a young girl—I’m ready to do any role now,” she said.

It was, by all accounts, a warm and well-earned comeback moment. Yet, the timing inevitably raised eyebrows. The proximity between the divorce chatter and the comeback reveal made one thing clear: controversy—intentional or otherwise—can be an excellent PR tool.

And it wouldn’t be the first time. The entertainment world thrives on attention, and attention doesn’t always arrive neatly wrapped in positive publicity. There have been other examples—actors whose long-forgotten names suddenly re-emerge through a viral controversy, followed days later by news of a new project or endorsement. The audience, in turn, engages with both—the gossip and the work—keeping the celebrity relevant in a digital ecosystem where trending for a day can mean more visibility than a year’s worth of promotions.

In an era where fame is measured by algorithms and impressions, personal controversies often act as free publicity. Whether or not celebrities engineer them consciously, they serve a purpose. A star’s social media silence can kill momentum faster than a box office flop, and a sudden “leak” or “rumour” can reignite public curiosity.

Mahhi Vij’s case reflects this tension between personal and professional narratives. Here’s a star returning after years, trying to rebuild her screen presence in a crowded market dominated by newer faces and web-series sensations. In such a scenario, even unintended buzz—like divorce rumours—can end up working in favour of renewed attention.

This isn’t to say that celebrities fabricate every controversy surrounding them. In Mahhi’s case, she looked genuinely exasperated by the false reporting and clearly wanted to set the record straight. But it’s also true that the ecosystem she’s a part of—an entertainment industry addicted to headlines—benefits from these coincidences. Even when stars push back against gossip, the timing of such events fuels public curiosity and draws clicks, creating a publicity loop they didn’t necessarily design but often can’t escape.

There’s also a larger cultural observation here. The Indian audience continues to conflate real and reel life, especially when it comes to television celebrities who once occupied living rooms daily through serials. Fans feel an intimacy with these stars—one that blurs the line between fiction and reality. When divorce rumours, breakups, or patch-ups make the rounds, it feels personal to viewers. And when those same stars appear on-screen shortly after, it feels like a continuation of the same emotional thread.

Mahhi Vij’s comeback, thus, exists in that intersection—between coincidence and convenience, between privacy and publicity. Her reappearance on television may be a genuine creative return, but it’s also a reminder of how fame in 2025 functions differently. In a time when visibility equals relevance, the space between scandal and spotlight has grown dangerously thin.

Whether engineered or accidental, these “coincidences” say less about the celebrities themselves and more about the machinery of modern entertainment—a machinery that knows, all too well, how to turn every whisper into a headline and every headline into a comeback story.

Maharani Season 4 REVIEW: ‘Rani Bharti’ Huma Qureshi Returns Strong But Fails Due To Weak Narrative In Dirty Politics

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Film:
Maharani Season 4

Bubble Rating:
2.0 stars

Director: Puneet Prakash

Writers: Subhash Kapoor, Nandan Singh, Uma Shankar Singh

Cast: Huma Qureshi, Kani Kusruti, Amit Sial, Pramod Pathak, Shweta Basu Prasad, Vineet Kumar, Shardul Bharadwaj, Vipin Sharma

Platform: SonyLIV

Runtime: 39 mins to 57 mins each episode

Maharani Season 4 Review

As rightly compared previously, Politics is just like a game of chess. Huma Qureshi, who portrays Rani Bharti, returns as the CM of Bihar. The opening scene highlights that Navin (Amit Sial) is visited by Murad Patel in jail from the PM Sudhakar Sriniwas Joshi’s (Vipin Sharma) office. He questions how to trouple Rani’s sarkaar and doesn’t leave a stone unturned to find out how. What Rani has to face now is either to trust her own instincts or close people in this game of dirty politics. This season raises questions of whether Rani will become the next PM, challenging Joshi and his alliance. Will Rani be able to keep her alliance close and enemies away? To find out what happens, read our review of Maharani Season 4.

What Works

Huma Qureshi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Shardul Bhardwaj, and other cast members play strong roles. Their accent and body language show every actor’s adaptability for their craft. The plot is good, however could have been carried out better. Dialogue writing and delivery are commendable.

What Doesn’t Work

Most scenes have been dragged. The plot twists are quite predictable and don’t carry enough weight for a political drama.

Technical Analysis

Direction

The direction in Maharani season 4 feels uninspired and lacks the precision needed for a compelling political drama. Although the premise holds promise, the storytelling often loses focus, with pacing issues and stretched-out sequences. The energy and urgency that once defined Rani’s political journey are notably absent, replaced by clichés and predictable moments.

Writing & Screenplay

The writing disappoints with its repetitive tone and lack of emotional grip. What could have been a sharp exploration of power and politics turns into a routine narrative filled with weak dialogue and forced melodrama. The screenplay struggles to weave together the political tension and personal dilemmas, leaving the overall story feeling scattered and inconsistent.

Star Performances

Huma Qureshi remains the show’s saving grace, bringing sincerity and conviction to her role. However, her efforts are weighed down by an uneven script and an underutilised supporting cast. Performances that could have added layers to the story instead feel flat and disconnected.

Conclusion

Maharani season 4 sadly fails to recreate the spark, intensity, and layered storytelling that once made the series compelling. The direction feels uninspired, with inconsistent pacing and scenes that lack dramatic tension. The writing, once sharp and politically charged, now feels diluted by repetitive dialogue and underdeveloped subplots.

Even the lead actors’ sincere effort can’t lift the show from its sluggish execution and emotional flatness. Supporting performances add little depth, leaving the narrative feeling hollow. Overall, the new season struggles to maintain its political intrigue or emotional resonance, making it a disappointing and forgettable continuation.

We hope our review of Maharani Season 4 will help you decide to watch it.

‘Susheela Ki Jawani’: Farah Khan offers Tees Maar Khan 2 to Ananya Panday, gives her Katrina Kaif’s sister’s role

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

In 2010, fifteen years ago, Farah Khan directed Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in Tees Maar Khan. The film received negative reviews, but it achieved moderate success at the box office and emerged as a cult classic over time. Akshay and Katrina’s sizzling chemistry, Akshaye Khanna’s impeccable comic timing and the iconic dance number Sheila Ki Jawani were some of the biggest highlights of the heist comedy film. But is there scope for a sequel? Well, Farah has now spilled the beans about Tees Maar Khan 2 on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s chat show. And Ananya Panday is hoping to get a role in it!

Katrina Kaif and Ananya Panday

Today on an episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, hosts Twinkle Khanna and Kajol were joined by the new besties in town — actor Ananya Panday and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan. In one segment, Kajol pointed out, “Tees Maar Khan didn’t do well but Sheila Ki Jawani did very well. That was a mixed bag.” Hearing this, Farah replied, “But I just want to tell you all, contrary to what people say, it made ₹64 crores, 15 years ago. And it’s a Gen Z cult film. In fact, when you ask which movie I should make a part two to, they write Tees Maar Khan. Kajol stop making that face! Ask your son, he’ll love it.”

Twinkle chimed in and said, “An early bird that eats the worm did tell me that there are some talks about Tees Maar Khan part two.” Hearing this, an excited Ananya asked, “Can I be in it?” To this, Farah replied, “Yeah, you can be in it. You can be Katrina’s younger sister.” Kajol then joked, “Sheila… you’ll be Leela Ki Jawani.” Meanwhile, Farah joked, “Susheela Ki Jawani also you can be.”

Can you imagine Ananya Panday as Katrina Kaif’s onscreen sister in Tees Maar Khan 2? We wonder what role Akshay Kumar will play this time.

Aryan Khan’s Girlfriend Trolled As ‘Vote Chori’ Confusion Hits Instagram

Aryan Khan’s Girlfriend Trolled As ‘Vote Chori’ Confusion Hits Instagram

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

When the daughter of a digital creator posted a casual Instagram photo of her holiday in Brazil, few might have predicted it would spark a wave of confusion, trolling and political discourse in India. Yet, that’s exactly what happened after actor-producer Aryan Khan’s partner Larissa Bonesi became suddenly caught in a swirling online storm—her Instagram wall inundated with comments from agitated Indians following a national political allegation.

It began with a televised press conference in which politician Rahul Gandhi claimed widespread “vote chori” (vote theft) during recent state elections. During the exchange, he mentioned the surname “Khan” and, in a moment that went viral, some viewers misheard or mis-interpreted it as “Khan with a Brazilian partner,” triggering a mismatch of identities. Larissa, a Brazilian influencer linked with Aryan Khan, was not involved in the political matter—but her social-media profile nonetheless became a target of online suspicion.

Almost immediately after the mis-reported name, Larissa’s posts—previously serene snapshots of travel, fashion and lifestyle—were swamped with comments from Indian users demanding explanations. Many messages read: “Are you involved in voter fraud?”, “Vote chori? Tell us what happened”, “We know you and Aryan—come clean”. Others simply posted droves of emoji-fire reactions and links to the electoral claim as though tagging her directly in a scandal she had no connection to.

What looks on its surface like a digital freak-event actually reflects a deeper pattern: in India’s hyper-connected media ecosystem, a celebrity’s personal account can become a blow-torch when misinformation and public curiosity intersect. Larissa’s international profile, Aryan Khan’s iconic family background and the emotive subject of electoral integrity created a combustible mix.

A few elements intensified the backlash: Larissa’s status as a non-Indian, the cultural ethnicity of “Khan”, and the timing aligned with electoral allegations. The thresholds for identification and guilt became dangerously low—people were ready to assume association simply through social connections. Even though the reality was that Larissa had no role in India’s elections, the momentum of public outrage ignored facts.

For Larissa, the experience was disorienting. In interviews later, Aryan acknowledged how his partner was overwhelmed. The picture she had shared as part of her usual travel-influencer feed wasn’t commentary on elections or Indian politics—it was a snapshot. Yet suddenly it landed in comment tabs filled with pointed demands and hashtags like #VoteChori.

From a media-culture perspective, this moment offers a cautionary insight. Public figures—especially those associated with well-known names—are perpetually two clicks away from undeserved scandal. And in the clatter of online voices, nuance often disappears. A name, a misheard phrase, a viral clip—these become triggers for digital mobs.

It also tells us something about how visibility works today. When a celebrity like Aryan Khan moves into the spotlight once again—either through a film, brand tie-in or social-media update—everything around him becomes searchable, sharable and subject to scrutiny. Friends, partners, in-laws—all become publicly tagged. For Larissa Bonesi, that meant her lifestyle posts suddenly required context, explanation and defence.

What’s important here isn’t just the misfire of identity but the larger expectation of celebrity clarity. Fans and followers now expect stars and their immediate circle to comment on anything connected to their names—even when the individuals named have no involvement. In faux-campaigns or real ones, the idea is: if you’re linked to someone influential, your narrative belongs to the public.

In Larissa’s case, the surge of confusion raises urgent questions about privacy, boundaries and responsibility in a digital age. Should a foreign influencer whose only linkage is a relationship with an Indian celebrity be subjected to politically charged commentary? And what role do platforms, algorithms and comment culture play in enabling such targeting?

For Aryan Khan, the incident highlights the collateral consequences of celebrity. He may be untangling politics from family life in the public eye now—but in truth, the incident reminds stars that even off-hand connections become headline-fuel. For public discourse, the episode is a mirror: the readiness with which millions tagged a young woman in a national scandal reveals how quickly identity becomes narrative.

In the end, what started as a party photo in Brazil became a case study in digital novelties—where globalization, celebrity, identity and politics converge in unexpected ways. For audiences, it serves as both spectacle and warning: the next time you scroll past a comment thread dredged with outrage, remember there might be someone on the other side—unprepared, unmentioned, yet instantly involved.

Jassi Weds Jassi REVIEW: Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo Starrer Wins Heart With Humour And Emotions

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Film:
Jassi Weds Jassi

Bubble Rating:
3.5 stars

Director: Paran Bawa

Cast: Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo, Rehmat Rattan, Ranvir Shorey, Sikandar Kher, Sudesh Lehri, Grusha Kapoor, Manu Rishi Chadha

Platform: Theatres

Jassi Weds Jassi Review

In a year packed with big-budget spectacles and over-the-top comedies that try too hard, Jassi Weds Jassi stands out for doing the exact opposite — keeping it simple, rooted, and genuinely funny. Director Paran Bawa crafts a delightful throwback to the era of Khosla Ka Ghosla and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. He reminded us that heart and humour often matter more than gloss and grandeur. To find out what happens, read our review of Jassi Weds Jassi.

Plot & Setting

Set in Haldwani, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand), in 1996, the story follows Jaspreet aka Jassi (Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo), a hopeless romantic on a mission to find true love. His quest leads him to Jasmeet (Rehmat Rattan), only to realise that before winning her heart, there is a big hurdle (without giving spoilers), Jaswinder (Sikandar Kher), also nicknamed Jassi

In the process, he disrupts the peaceful life of Sehgal (Ranvir Shorey) and his wife, Sweeti (Grusha Kapoor). Their own marriage is teetering on the edge of chaos. What unfolds is a hilarious series of misunderstandings, emotional twists, and warm moments of love and family.

Performances

At its core, Jassi Weds Jassi works because of its performances. Harshh Vardhan Singh Deo and Rehmat Rattan make for a fresh, endearing pair. Their chemistry feels effortless, sweet, awkward, and real. Harshh brings sincerity to his role, and Rehmat lights up the screen with her innocence and charm.

The veterans, however, steal the show. Ranvir Shorey is an absolute riot, delivering dry humour and comic timing reminiscent of his Khosla Ka Ghosla days. Sikandar Kher, in a surprising turn, flexes his funny bone with understated brilliance; his “tough guy” exterior blends beautifully with situational comedy. Manu Rishi Chadha adds earthy humour, while Sudesh Lehri and Grusha Kapoor lend their seasoned comic energy, though one wishes they had a bit more screen time.

Music

The music album of Jassi Weds Jassi deserves a special mention; it’s one of the most understated yet delightful soundtracks of 2025. Songs like “Chamkeela”, “Make Up Na Laya Kar”, “Bhool Jawanga”, and “Ishq E Desi” bring back the melody and fun of old-school Hindi film music. Each track feels situational yet hummable, with Chamkeela and Make Up already trending on Instagram Reels and Spotify, turning into sleeper chartbusters.

Direction & Writing

Paran Bawa’s direction is clean and confident. He doesn’t chase punchlines — he builds moments. The humour stems from situations and relationships rather than slapstick. The art direction and production design beautifully capture 90s North India, complete with vibrant weddings, quirky relatives, and the nostalgia of a simpler time.

The pre-climax sequence is the film’s crown jewel — a brilliantly executed Ramayana-inspired skit that pays tribute to Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’s iconic Mahabharata play. It’s meta, hilarious, and a smart homage that cinephiles will relish. The kidnapping scene later evokes the chaos and fun of Fukrey and 90s Hollywood comedies, adding to the film’s madcap charm.

Conclusion

Jassi Weds Jassi isn’t a flashy, laugh-a-minute blockbuster. It’s a clean, family-friendly comedy with heart — the kind of film that leaves you smiling as the credits roll. Yes, the first half could’ve been crisper, and a few jokes find their rhythm much later. But its second half more than makes up for it.

With genuine humour, warm nostalgia, and performances that click, Jassi Weds Jassi reminds us of a time when laughter didn’t need noise, just good writing, good actors, and a good heart. The film is a rooted, fun, and feel-good comedy that opens the wedding season with a smile.

Madhur Dixit Thanks Toronto for ‘lovely Meet and Greet’ Amid Controversy

by jummy84 November 6, 2025
written by jummy84

Madhuri Dixit is making headlines for her Dil Se… Madhuri event in Toronto. The actress faced backlash for allegedly arriving nearly three hours late. Fans who attended expressed their thoughts on social media and criticised the organisers for promoting the event as a concert when it was perceived to be a talk show. Some individuals also criticised Madhuri’s late arrival, while others described the evening as a disappointing experience and a complete waste of time and resources.

However, following the event, the Dil To Pagal Hai actress shared a post on Instagram thanking her fans and expressing her gratitude. She also announced dates of her further meet and greet events that will take place in New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, Houston, New York. This did not sit well with the fan and they demanded an apology from the actress for a similar event that took place on November 2. The confusion ensued when fans thought that the November 2 event would be a dance and musical night, but actually it was a ‘Meet and Greet’ event instead.

“Why were you 3 hours late with no apologies?” read one comment while another person wrote, “Madhuri Dixit Nene. I grew up loving you and watching you. As of now. Toronto is very disappointed in your show. They were misled. False advertising on what the show was supposed to be. What everyone was expecting and what actually happened.” Complaining about a fake advertisement for the Toronto show, another netizen added, “But you owe Toronto an apology for fake advertising…your own post on your profile doesn’t call it a Meet and Greet. You say an evening of dance , music and celebrations”

Meanwhile, Atique Sheikh, the event organiser stated recently that although the actress was on time, she got late due to ‘miscommunication from the management.’

He said in a statement, “It was a management miscommunication. That’s how some fans must have gotten confused, we can’t have a concert in a small banquet. It was pretty well mentioned before about the show being a Fan Meet. Madhuri ji has worked with us in the past as well and something like this has never happened. She in fact performed on her hit songs. Our idea was to present her celebrated journey in the industry and have a fan interaction.”

Vicky Kaushal Gave Up Non-Veg And Alcohol For His Upcoming Role As Lord Parashurama in Amar Kaushik’s “Mahavatar”

After the massive success of Chhava, Vicky Kaushal is all set to take on another epic historical film. The actor will soon collaborate with Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik for a magnum opus titled “Mahavatar”, based on the life of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, an immortal incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to a recent report by one of the media houses, Vicky Kaushal has decided to make significant lifestyle changes before stepping into this divine role.

Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal Quit Alcohol

The actor plans to give up alcohol and non-vegetarian food as part of his preparation for Mahavatar. A source close to the film revealed, “A film like Mahavatar requires complete concentration, and both Vicky Kaushal and Amar Kaushik are determined to give it their all. They’ve decided to give up non-vegetarian food and alcohol. Preparations for the film will begin with a grand puja ceremony next year.”

The source further added, “Amar has already given up his eating and drinking habits, while Vicky will do the same after completing the shoot of Love and War. This is his way of showing respect to the character of Lord Parashurama.” The much-anticipated project, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, is expected to go on floors in late 2026 and release in theaters in 2028. The film is touted to be one of the biggest mythological productions ever made in India, combining cutting-edge technology with a story rooted in ancient Indian lore.

Vicky Kaushal

In May 2025, producer Dinesh Vijan spoke about Mahavatar, emphasizing the importance of telling stories inspired by India’s heritage. He said, “Over the last 10 years, we’ve been focusing on telling stories rooted in our own culture rather than chasing Western narratives. India is the only country with such rich mythology and history. Stree and Chhava are examples of that. Mahavatar is probably our biggest film yet, we want to make it grand, world-class, and culturally authentic.”

When asked about Dhanashree Verma using divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal for sympathy on Rise and Fall, Akriti Negi said, “Pehli baat, Yuzi…kya bolun? To Yuzi Chahal Bhaiya — Yuzi Chahal ji. Yuzi Bhaiya mujhe aisa lagta hai ki woh India ko represent karte hain, unke liye khel rahe hain. Toh mujhe lagta hai unka naam har jagah drag karna it’s not a good thing. Definitely, abhi itna bada case hua hai, jo bhi hua aur aapko pata hai ki aapka naam uss cheez se connected hai, aur aap ek bahut bade show mein aa rahe ho jahan personal cheezein nikaali jaayengi.”

She continued, “Toh mujhe lagta hai aapko thoda alert hokar chalna chahiye, taaki aap apne muh se koi galat baat na bol dein. Kyunki yahaan sirf aapko nahi, aapki ex-partner ko bhi judge kiya jaayega. Mujhe pehle laga tha ki Dhanashree apni personal life ke baare mein kuch bhi baat nahi kar rahi hai. But after the show jab maine dekha, toh mujhe laga ki unhone sirf ussi topic par baat ki, jo ki galat hai. Kyunki wahan par sirf unka perspective dikhaya gaya, doosre person ka nahi. Aur woh cheez unfair ho jaati hai.”

About Dhanashree’s Divorce

On Rise and Fall, Aahana Kumra accused Dhanashree Verma of using her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal as a “victim card.” Verma discussed her divorce, prompting Kumra to say Verma sought an unfair advantage by referencing personal struggles. Verma defended herself, stating her talent helped her despite personal issues, and she felt the need to address her past. Kumra argued Verma focused on her personal life and used it for sympathy. The clash ended with Verma in tears, sparking viewer debate over the incident.
