Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Anoushka Shankar To Sonam Kapoor, Renowned Female Artists Who Stunned In Blue Ensembles

There’s something entirely different about blue ensembles! It radiates power and screams presence. And our beloved, renowned female artists have often kicked off all-time blues in blue outfits, inspiring everyone to do so.

Anoushka Shankar: 13-time Grammy-nominated sitarist Anoushka Shankar exuded power and ferocity in a deep blue textured gown by Gaurav Gupta. The outfit featured one-sided, thinly-pleated solid textures going all the way till her waistline – serving a look that only she can pull off! The sitarist sported a short bob cut and accessorised her look with a septum nose ring, a classic watch and rings.

Deepika Padukone: Deepika Padukone defined chic in a bodycon midi dress and topped it up with a solid blue trench coat, serving pure and powerful feminine vibes. She styled her hair in a neat bun and completed her look with strapped stilettos.

Shreya Ghoshal: National Award-winning singer Shreya Ghoshal looked as solid as ever in a Prussian blue suit with embellished patches that gave it a striking edge. Keeping the overall look simple and subtle, Shreya simply accessorised her look with minimal jewellery pieces.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas: Priyanka Chopra Jonas wove maximalism with elegance in a light blue outfit with an enlarged bow at the back and structured off-shoulders. Her skirt began with a form-fit and opened up to a voluminous flair, enhancing its overall appeal.

Sonam Kapoor: Fashion icon Sonam Kapoor blended royalty with modernity in a banghgala coat with puffed sleeves and paired it with a matching skirt – creating an unusual but artistically creative combination. She left her hair half-open and paired her look with minimally aesthetic jewellery.

Which of these outfits would you like to recreate to kick off your all-time blues?

Black Ops 7′ campaign length

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Every year a new Call of Duty game comes along and this time fans are eager to know how long the campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is. Well, unfortunately, it isn’t very long.

  • READ MORE: All ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’ Mastery Camos

Here is what to expect.

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’ campaign length

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 campaign length is around 4 or so hours. There are only 11 missions in the main campaign before you get to the endgame replayable Avalon experience.

That endgame experience does add quite a lot of replayability to the game, with tiered areas, world bosses, and more in an Extraction Shooter style PvE format.

Here is what we think of the ‘Endgame’ mode from our review:

“Despite the sheer number of opponents thrown your way, it’s the perfect way to wind down after another nail-biting game of ‘Team Deathmatch’. According to developers, there’s a lot of seasonal content planned which should stop even the most committed of players from running out of things to do. If they do, a huge new ‘Zombies’ map is waiting alongside the punishing new ‘Cursed’ mode.”

For even more on Black Ops 7, see what we think of the game in our review and what fans think about the campaign.

Why Oz Perkins’ Movies Keep Getting Worse at Neon

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Don’t cry, Neon. It’s not all Oz Perkins’ fault that “Keeper” is getting such nasty reviews. This mess of a horror movie and its director’s mystifying track record in the genre is your doing, too!

Starring the ever-incredible Tatiana Maslany in a stew of baffling choices, Perkins’ third feature at Neon has its fans — but it’s damned by faint praise with 67 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (low for the generally positive platform) and 52 percent on Metacritic, which doesn’t bode well for opening weekend.

“Keeper” hits theaters today and it’s projected to be Perkins’ least lucrative film yet. Yes, the single-location haunted house story cost a lot less to make than his earlier “Longlegs” and “The Monkey.” But diminishing returns and precipitous reputation decline suggest the oddball filmmaker, whom a lot of indie folks seem to like personally, has been hurt by bad marketing.

Arco

Coming Up Short After “Longlegs”

Anyone who has survived a rocky relationship knows the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and there’s no question Neon pushed the auteur trajectory for Perkins in hopes of providing a foothold in horror. After acquiring “Longlegs” on the 2023 European Film Market, the studio ripped a hyperbolic marketing strategy straight from the 1970s that, for good or bad, totally worked. Despite Nicolas Cage’s impressive transformation into a supernatural killer of children, and Maika Monroe’s wide audience of fans and reigning status as a scream queen, the FBI procedural didn’t have the goods to be one of the “scariest” movies ever made. Not even close.

Paired with a cryptic ad campaign that was fun to see but oversold the terror, “Longlegs” got as far as it did on Neon’s insistence that Perkins’ debut title at the studio wasn’t just “good” but revolutionary. That insulted many of the more intense genre-heads online. It also created a false impression for moviegoers unfamiliar with their horror history, inadvertently setting up Perkins for the eyerolls he’s enduring from seasoned cinephiles (as well as newbies) now. “Longlegs” made $127.9 million in global ticket sales, again proving that clear messaging is key when you want to put butts in seats. But you can’t rip off the ad campaign for “The Exorcist” twice — certainly not for the same guy — and Neon hasn’t been able to figure out what story they’re telling with Perkins since.

Marketing That Put “The Monkey” on Perkins’ Back

There’s no question “Longlegs” is still Perkins’ best film, but when the director delivered “The Monkey” earlier this year Neon made a mess of the movie’s campaign. Quality filmmaking has to take over for buzz eventually, and “The Monkey” has demonstrable flaws. It’s a junk drawer of darkly comic ridiculousness based on a Stephen King story but Perkins’ decidedly original approach — and his first film with future “Keeper” star Maslany — deserved a smarter playbook. Neon got what it wanted then, but it’s partly why Perkins is in trouble today.

“The Monkey” made $68.9 million worldwide, riding the reputation of “Longlegs” to set up Perkins’ next film as proper “event horror.” Tons of moviegoers who didn’t consider themselves outright scary movie “fans” got into the genre because of “Longlegs,” and Perkins’ impressive production speed gave them a new project in less than a year. Both box office and critical reception declined. “Longlegs” stands at 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 3.3 rating on Letterboxd, while “The Monkey” has a 77 percent and a 2.7 rating — good enough but not great.

Many legendary horror directors struggled to get audiences to appreciate their lighter side in sophomore features; see Sam Raimi, Wes Craven, and Tobe Hooper, for starters. Neon decided to push “The Monkey” on the basis that it was not a scarier answer to “Longlegs” but an extraordinarily violent one.

Skip Genre History Class? Fail Basic Psychology

“The Monkey” campaign ultimately undermined the credit Neon deserved for their part in “Longlegs.” During the first film’s rollout, the studio built public suspense by showing real restraint with the assets they shared. The “Longlegs” trailer didn’t reveal much and by splashing cryptic clues across billboards, posters, and marquees they made their money through intrigue.

“The Monkey” took the opposite tactic. Armed with its “Longlegs” association, the trailer racked up more than 100 million views on YouTube in three days. But when TV stations refused to air the only marginally violent material without edits, Neon spun that response to suggest an audacity in Perkins’ movie that wasn’t there. By law, the level of gore and violence on social media can’t always play on primetime TV. But that doesn’t make every movie with promo materials rejected by major networks more extreme than other movies.

Still, Neon presented fairly normal rejection emails as a declaration of war “The Monkey” couldn’t wage. They shared redacted screenshots of their failed marketing efforts as evidence from a pop-culture crime scene. Positioning “The Monkey” as outrageously controversial and ultraviolent put even more pressure on Perkins’ second film and let down a big chunk of his audience.

Then, there was “Keeper.”

Sure You Want to Use an Eli Roth Quote Right… Now?

After “Longlegs,” Perkins was viewed as a horror legend in the making. The son of “Psycho” star Anthony Perkins, he gave a series of tender interviews that reflected the considerable heart and thought he put into the film. Some more aggressive “Longlegs” critics softened their assessments when they understood that emotional context (myself included), also remembering Perkins-the-director as the quietly lovable actor they met in the background of all-time greats like “Legally Blonde” and “Secretary.” They chose to root for him.

That’s what makes the bone-headed move Neon pulled days before “Keeper” came out so maddening. Poster quotes can come from almost anywhere: professional film journalists, social media influencers, and even the random Letterboxd user. Hell, studios have used out-of-context quote pulls for more than a century. But if you’re going to borrow credibility from another filmmaker, it’s worth being more careful than Neon was in connecting “Keeper” to Eli Roth.

The director of the horror classic “Hostel” and recent slasher hit “Thanksgiving” appears in the latest teaser for Perkins’ new nightmare, praising it as “like a surreal David Lynch movie.” To be fair, Lynch served as an executive producer on Roth’s “Cabin Fever,” and Roth has often described Lynch as one of his biggest mentors. Still, calling something a “surreal David Lynch movie” is more than redundant.

Despite his schismatic professional history and provocative approach to discussing Israel and Palestine online (when activist Greta Thunberg was detained amid aid efforts to Gaza, the filmmaker posted on Instagram, “She needs to be eaten by cannibals”), Roth is networking more visibly to promote his own indie genre label, The Horror Section. It makes sense that Roth would want to be associated with Perkins after “Longlegs,” but that quote wouldn’t have gotten a fraction of the scrutiny if it weren’t attributed to Roth. Running his flattened assessment of Perkins’ work alongside sentiments from Guillermo del Toro and Bong Joon Ho created a viral meme with a stronger message at the wrong time.

Trust One Director, or Annoy Every Audience?

Full disclosure: While “Keeper” is an opaque arthouse effort that might work for someone, it’s one I genuinely detested. Walking into a press screening of the film earlier this week in Los Angeles, other horror critics mentioned the Roth/Lynch snafu, and those same conversations — now with specific complaints about the movie! — continued on the way out.

I tried to put the debacle aside when I gave Perkins’ latest a “D+” review. In fact, I looked for something nice to say about “Keeper” precisely because Neon was letting Perkins do something different. But heading into opening weekend, the embattled director should consider if the studio “gets” him at all.

Of the three movies Perkins has made at Neon, all in the last 16 months, “Keeper” is projected to earn the least but also cost the least. That means the first-look deal Perkins signed earlier this year — giving Neon right of first refusal for all of his projects, including the upcoming “The Young People” in 2026, set to star Nicole Kidman — is still working out for them. Consciously or not, the risky strategy that put money in the bank on “Longlegs” and “The Monkey” could tank “Keeper.”

The creative partners have at least one more film to make and they could turn things around. That said, Perkins made other movies before he signed with Neon and he has plenty of serious cinephiles still rooting for him elsewhere. Best to finish out this contract and move on.

From Neon, Oz Perkins’ “Keeper” is in theaters now.

Dakota Johnson and Sabrina Carpenter Prove Winter’s Best Coat Needs a Burgundy Bag

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

The burgundy bag popped against the cool-toned coat while complementing the 36-year-old actor’s rosy beauty look and instantly inspiring my next going-out ’fit. The very next day, Leslie Bibb proved the very same formula can by applied to the work week.

On November 13 Bibb was photographed in New York City wearing a long gray duster and charcoal knit set, which she paired with brown croc-embossed boots—almost like an inverse of Johnson’s evening look. However, she also had the idea to add a burgundy bag into the mix, opting for a big slouchy hobo bag that could easily store her everyday essentials and a pair of subway flats.

The point is, a burgundy bag is the perfect pop of color to add to pair with your favorite coat and boots, whether you’re heading into the office or out for date night.

Heck, if you want to go Goldilocks and the three bears on this trend, you can even choose a mid-size crossbody, like Sabrina Carpenter, who paired a burgundy Celine bag with her black Aritzia slouch coat, brown boots, loose jeans, and oversized plaid scarf. Consider this the farmer’s market version of the look.

Woman Rejects $898 Engagement Piece

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Alexa, play ‘Irreplaceable,’ because it looks like love is in the air — but so is confusion, disappointment, and a whole lotta side-eye. What was supposed to be a step into forever for Priscilla and Tyler now has the internet grabbing popcorn and picking sides without even knowing the full story yet. And, let’s just say… this one has the internet clutching its pearls, taking sides, and analyzing engagement rings like it’s the NBA Finals.

RELATED: Social Media Reacts To Bella Thorne Surprising Fiancé Mark Emms With Proposal Of Her Own (VIDEO)

When The Walmart Ring Doesn’t Ring True, Sis

It all started when a woman named Priscilla hopped on Threads to share a screenshot of the moment she turned down her boyfriend’s proposal. And the $898 Walmart engagement ring that came with it. She also sparked a debate under the caption, “What are y’all thoughts on this? I’m curious.” But don’t get it twisted—her issue wasn’t the price tag. According to her, this was about him “not listening.” In the leaked text exchange, she told Tyler, “I’ve told you the kind of ring I wanted more than once & you showed up with something from Walmart… If you knew what I wanted & still chose to do what was easiest [it] tells me you don’t really hear me.” Whew.

The Comments Section Was Fighting For Its Life

The internet was immediately divided in Priscilla’s Threads comment section like a Super Bowl fan using a parlay. Some were full-on girl’s girls, riding hard for her and insisting she deserved a partner who actually listens. Meanwhile, people started dropping photos of their own inexpensive-but-beloved rings, and a few fellas chimed in telling Tyler to run—fast—and find someone else to spend his life with.

One Threads user @india_kilo said, “I’m confused, if you have $900 to spend on a ring, why the hell would you spend it at Walmart? He could’ve went to Kay Jewelers…“

This Threads user, @misslaurarh, added, “She doesn’t want to spend the rest of her life being unheard.“

And, Threads user @rubyyyork shared, “It’s not about the ring. It’s about her stating her needs and him dismissing them. That’s a deeper issue than a Walmart ring. I’m on her side.“

Meanwhile, Threads user @t.giulia04 wrote, “Lemme put it in another perspective. ‘Oh he loooves playing Fifa on his ps5, let me get a game for him’ *buys Call of duty for xbox* The guy: ‘this isn’t gonna work’ The girl: ‘You’re ungrateful!’“

While Threads user @iamsaheira commented, “Girl………..what the FAWK is wrong with you??? Dam. I hate when I have to side with men.“

Lastly, Threads user @itsricharddrew said, “Avoid any woman who cares more for the ring than the proposal“

Chile, Even Expensive Rings Ain’t Safe Out Here

It looks like Priscilla isn’t the only one side-eyeing a ring. Another bride-to-be recently confessed on Facebook that she hates the surprise ring her fiancé proposed with, admitting she gets “sad every time [she looks] at it.” Though the jewel was far pricier than Priscilla’s, the issue was the same: he never asked her what she wanted. From changing her nail shape to trying to “grow” into it, nothing helped. She still didn’t like it—period.

One thing’s for sure: between skyrocketing proposal budgets, Pinterest-perfect expectations, and communication breakdowns, engagement season is looking real messy this year. Whether you think Priscilla was right or wrong, she’s definitely sparked a conversation about love, listening, and the true cost of a ring. And, the debate started a conversation on whether this was a red flag—or simply a woman with standards.

Bad Bunny, Karol G, Best Moments of the Night

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

Each year, the Latin Grammys serves up something a little different — and viewers never quite know what to expect. That’s often the beauty of the ceremony, which is always filled with highs and lows and tons of surprises.

Though past shows have gotten their share of criticism for feeling staid or out-of-touch with the state of Latin music, it largely felt like the Academy and the telecast organizers got it right in 2025. The ceremony fly by, with quick transitions, performances that never lingered too much, and solid hosting duties from Maluma and Roselyn Sanchez. Even the actual winners struck the right chord: Sure, here were some shocking moments that felt typically Latin Grammys, like when Alejandro Sanz bested Bad Bunny for Record of the Year. But there was plenty of love across the generations, with the most wins of the night going to Bad Bunny and Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, who really felt like they captured the zeitgeist this year.

Seeing Bad Bunny get recognized at the Latin Grammys was also meaningful since he hasn’t always gotten love. He gets nominated a lot, but doesn’t always win, so seeing him take home Album of the Year for the poignant and quietly powerful DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS felt like the right move. Here’s more of what worked, what didn’t, and what came out of left field at the Latin Grammys.

Best of the Night

Los Tigres Del Norte Stand Up for Latinos
Of course, Los Tigres del Norte were the ones to deliver a powerful political statement, defending Latinos in this country on the Latin Grammy stage. The Mexican music legends — who’d already won a pair of awards for their Lotería EP earlier in the night — performed in front of a screen flashing images of Latinos protesting for immigrant rights, immigrant-crossing signs, and clips of families celebrating and students graduating, — a vivid reminder of the deep impact immigrants have on this country. Hernán Hernández pulled out his signature guitar, adorned with the flags of every country of Latin America, as Jorge walked around the stage pointing into the crowd, which included Gloria Estefan, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, and Karol G, watching closely as they performed. “It always breaks your heart to leave your homeland / Because the tree no longer casts a very good shade,” Jorge sang. They were the night’s lone act to make a direct political statement — and it left quite an impression. More of this, please. —T.M.

Editor’s picks

The Duets Do It for Us
There have been a few times some of the duets at the Latin Grammys left us scratching our heads (we’re still thinking about Bon Jovi and Pitbull last year.) Luckily, most of the performances and onstage mash-ups were a pleasant surprise in 2025: Karol G and Marco Antonio Solis felt like a tasteful way to bring together generations of audiences, and Fuerza Regida with Grupo Frontera was a solid way of showing the many sides of musica mexicana. We were also huge fans of Carin Leon and Kacey Musgraves coming together for a cross-genre moment, and cheered on the energy when Gloria Estefan and Nathy Peluso sang together. —J.L.

Kakalo, DannyLux, and Ivan Cornejo Change the Game
Musica mexicana doesn’t always get the love it deserves on the telecast, but the show featured a solid moment honoring the rising generation of acts from the genre. Kakalo, DannyLux, and Ivan Cornejo each took the stage to show how they’re adding a new spin on things, performing their own tracks. Kakalo launched into “Tierra Trágame,” DannyLux showed his honeyed tone on “Sirena,” and Corenjo closed things out with a grounded performance of “Atención,” putting his vulnerability and melancholy sound on display. —J.L.

Missed the Mark

Pepe Aguilar Doesn’t Quite Nail It
For an awards show that largely got it right spotlighting the future of Latin music, Pepe Aguilar’s traditional charro, ranchera performance felt like a left-field choice, and not exactly a necessary one. After roughly two years of the Aguilars dominating tabloid chatter — from Ángela Aguilar and Christian Nodál’s strange relationship timeline to Pepe’s son Emiliano publicly calling out their estrangement time and again — Pepe’s appearance (with just one nomination, which he ultimately lost to Nodál) landed as a miss. The show would’ve been better served by pairing Aguilar with a younger artist helping evolve the very genre Aguilar is working to preserve. (But handing over the spotlight would’ve been smart for the Aguilar image, even.) —T.M.

How Many Voters Again?
We’re all for the Academy giving us glimpses into how their voting process works and what leads to the decisions of the night. But in nearly every category introduction speech, the hosts and presenters mentioned that “one million voters” had weighed in — to the point where the phrase felt like it lost all meaning by the end of the night. Guys, we get it; there are a lot of voters! —J.L.

We Need More Love For Alt Acts!
It was already a bummer that a new wave of Latin alternative artists, like Mexican trio Latin Mafia, Spanish singer-songwriter Judeline, and artist-producer Rusowsky, didn’t make it into the bigger categories, despite how boundary-pushing their releases were. Still, they were all up for Best Alternative Album and Best Alternative Song. Though zany Argentine duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso deserved plenty of wins, they snagged both categories, where it would have been nice to see a slightly different energy. Latin Mafia, Judeline, and Rusowsy later met up and took a few photos together, including a cheeky one with everyone flipping off the camera. Maybe this snub might lead to the Latin Mafia, Judeline, and Rusowsky collaboration that we need. —L.V.

OMG!

The Big Sanz Upset
When Alejandro Sanz apologized to Bad Bunny and Karol G for winning Record of the Year, it felt like a reminder that the Latin Grammys can be… kind of old-school. In a category stacked with two of Bad Bunny’s biggest songs, Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso’s “#Tetas” and “El Día del Amigo,” and even Liniker’s “Ao Te Lado,” his win suggested the Academy might still be playing it safe with what its older voting base knows best. Part of the problem may have been that multiple nominations in one category meant some of the votes were split, but Sanz’s Record of the Year win was still a shock. —T.M.

Paloma Morphy accepts the Best New Artist award onstage at Latin Grammys.

Paloma Morphy Is Our New Rising Queen
Paloma Morphy took home the Best New Artist award and we’re here for it. In the same vein as Latin Mafia and Nsqk, Paloma Morphy is reshaping the Latin alternative scene with her genre-bending sound. Earlier this week, the Mexico City native shared her reaction to being nominated for Best New Artist with Rolling Stone. “When I started making music, I quit my other job,” she said. “I was doubting if this was something for me. Life is giving me signs that I have made the right choice.” This win is making it clear that Morphy takeover is imminent. —L.V.

Karol Sounds Off
While accepting the award for Song of the Year, Karol G unexpectedly took a moment to address her naysayers. She specifically asked for her microphone not to be cut and then went off. The Colombian superstar then revealed a struggle that she was facing: “This happened during a strange time in my life and the only thing that was left from all of that for me was to go back to the root and the intention and return to the purpose of what I’m doing because I love it, because I like it, and because I was born for this.” —L.V.

Love For Liniker
The Brazilian artist was off to a good night with nods in major categories, like Album of the Year and Record of the Year. But it was especially nice to see that she didn’t get siloed off during the ceremony: Her performance toward the end, just after Elena Rose, felt like a big highlight that shared more of her music and her sound with wider audiences. It was especially poignant to see her represent Brazil and music in Portuguese, given how hard it is for Brazilian acts to break into the industry — and into the ceremony itself. —J.L.

YouTube TV and Disney Reach Deal Ending Two-Week Blackout of ESPN, ABC

by jummy84 November 15, 2025
written by jummy84

ESPN, ABC and other Disney TV networks are coming back to YouTube TV.

Google and Disney finally ended their standoff, announcing a multiyear agreement Friday on pricing and terms for a renewed carriage deal for YouTube TV. Disney’s nets went dark on the internet TV service just before midnight ET on Thursday, Oct. 30, after the two sides remained far apart on a deal before the expiration of the previous contract.

Under the new agreement, ESPN’s full lineup of sports — including content from ESPN Unlimited — will be made available on YouTube TV to base-plan subscribers at no additional cost by the end of 2026. In addition, access to a selection of live and on-demand programming from ESPN Unlimited will be available inside YouTube TV.

The deal also lets YouTube include the Disney+ and Hulu bundle as part of “select YouTube offerings.” According to Disney, “select networks” will be included in various genre-specific packages that YouTube TV expects to launch in the future.

“This new agreement reflects our continued commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment and evolving with how audiences choose to watch,’’ Disney Entertainment co-chairmen Alan Bergman and Dana Walden and ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a joint statement. “It recognizes the tremendous value of Disney’s programming and provides YouTube TV subscribers with more flexibility and choice. We are pleased that our networks have been restored in time for fans to enjoy the many great programming options this weekend, including college football.”

In a statement, a YouTube spokesperson said Friday, “We’re happy to share that we’ve reached an agreement with Disney that preserves the value of our service for our subscribers and future flexibility in our offers. Subscribers should see channels including ABC, ESPN and FX returning to their service over the course of the day, as well as any recordings that were previously in their Library. We apologize for the disruption and appreciate our subscribers’ patience as we negotiated on their behalf. ”

The deal supersedes their prior distribution agreement, inked in December 2021 after a two-day blackout.

On Sunday (Nov. 9) YouTube began issuing one-time $20 credits to YouTube TV customers for the loss of Disney’s programming, in the hopes it would help stave off user cancelations.

Many YouTube TV subscribers dropped the service in frustration. According to a survey fielded last week, 24% of YouTube TV users said they had canceled or intended to cancel their accounts over the Disney blackout. A YouTube rep said that “while subscriber churn is always regrettable, it’s been manageable and does not align with the findings of this survey.” Disney took a hit, too, losing more than $4 million per day during the blackout, according to an estimate by Morgan Stanley analysts.

Google had said Disney was asking for an unprecedented fee increase for the full suite of ESPN channels, ABC local stations, FX, Disney Channel, Freeform, Nat Geo and more — while Disney claimed the tech giant was “refusing to pay fair rates for our channels.” According to Google, Disney was trying to “reset” the market pricing for its programming (so it could charge similarly higher rates in upcoming renewals with other pay-TV distributors) and that Disney was insisting YouTube TV take the Mouse House’s full lineup of networks. The negotiating teams were led by Disney Platform Distribution EVP Sean Breen and YouTube chief business officer Mary Ellen Coe.

The removal of Disney’s networks from YouTube TV came a day before a busy Nov. 1 Saturday slate for college football as major marquee teams face pivotal contests, many of them aired on ESPN and ABC. In light of the blackout, ESPN made its “College GameDay” football pregame show available free to watch via a livestream on X. YouTube TV customers also missed two airings of “Monday Night Football” on ABC and ESPN. (YouTube pointed out to users they could catch all of ESPN’s programming on the ESPN Unlimited subscription service.)

Along with Disney’s live channels, YouTube TV customers’ DVR recordings of the media conglomerate’s programming were removed, as is standard in such disputes. With the deal renewal, YouTube TV subscribers will regain access to recordings that were previously in their library, according to YouTube.

On Thursday, Disney CEO Bob Iger told analysts that the company had been “working tirelessly to close this deal” but said, “It’s also imperative that we make sure that we agree to a deal that reflects the value that we deliver, which both YouTube, by the way, and Alphabet, have told us, is greater than the value of any other provider.”

Disney Entertainment’s Walden and Bergman and ESPN’s Pitaro had previously addressed the impasse in several memos to staffers. “YouTube TV and its owner, Google, are not interested in achieving a fair deal with us,” the execs wrote in an Oct. 31 email. “Instead, they want to use their power and extraordinary resources to eliminate competition and devalue the very content that helped them build their service.”

Meanwhile, ahead of this year’s Election Night (Nov. 4), Disney asked Google to restore ABC on YouTube TV for one day to serve the “public interest.” Google declined — and instead suggested that Disney allow YouTube TV to make ABC and ESPN available while the two sides continued talks because those are “the channels that people want.” Disney didn’t go for the idea.

The Disney-Google clash became public Oct. 23, when Disney began alerting viewers that its networks could be removed from YouTube TV.

Disney has faced other tough negotiations with distributors amid the transition to ESPN Unlimited — the standalone streaming service launched in August that includes everything on the sports programmer’s lineup — and its continued investment in Disney+ and Hulu.

In 2023, Disney’s networks had a 10-day blackout on Charter Communications cable systems in a similar fight over price. To settle the Charter deal, Disney allowed Charter’s high-tier TV subscribers to access Disney+ and the ESPN+ streaming app. In 2024, ESPN and other Disney nets went dark on DirecTV for nearly two weeks before they reached a new deal. In October, Disney and Comcast quietly reached a carriage renewal deal.

Google has encountered no small amount of friction in deal-renewal talks this year for YouTube TV. Other programmers that have fought with the internet company include Paramount Global (now Paramount Skydance), Fox Corp. and NBCUniversal — each of which reached a new deal without a blackout. At the end of September, YouTube TV dropped Univision, with Google alleging the price increases sought by parent company TelevisaUnivision were drastically out of line with viewership on the platform.

YouTube TV is the biggest internet-TV service in the U.S., estimated to have more than 10 million subscribers. Next is Disney, which last week closed a deal to merge its Hulu + Live TV business with Fubo; together, those have almost 6 million subs in North America. Google had asserted Disney’s hardball tactics over a YouTube TV deal was “benefiting their own live TV products, including Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.”
