Kirsten Dunst and Channing Tatum Are Perfect Scene Partners

by jummy84 November 28, 2025
written by jummy84

The last time I spoke with Kirsten Dunst, for her work in Alex Garland’s 2024 pulse-pounder “Civil War,” it came with an unexpected coda: a win at the National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards for that story. So when I was on deck to interview Dunst again, alongside her “Roofman” co-star Channing Tatum, I pulled out the star-shaped award I received for the honor. No pressure for this interview, I joked.

“What’s it say?” Dunst asked, leaning forward to get a better look. “Well, it’s when we talked for ‘Civil War,’ and the name of my piece was Kirsten Dunst Is Our Most Reasonable Movie Star,” I told her.

Tatum beamed. “I like ‘reasonable,’ because that is right. If I ever really needed to get a real perspective on something, I would absolutely come to you,” he said, turning to his co-star. “I would 100 percent want to have your perspective, because I know it would be a reasonable one. On both sides! You wouldn’t just try to take my side.”

Dunst laughed and tried to demure. “No,” she said with a smile. “You would!” Tatum said. “You’d be like, ‘Well, you should probably look at this as well,’ and I’d be like, ‘Damn it. No, you’re right.’”

While Derek Cianfrance’s fact-based feature marks the first time Dunst and Tatum have starred together, the pair are longtime admirers of each other’s work. That admiration is obvious, even through the screen of a Zoom interview, as the pair comfortably traded stories (and compliments) about the other and how that respect and appreciation translated to 2025’s most charming onscreen pairing.

Dunst and Tatum don’t even really interact until the film is almost at its midway mark. Instead, we watch Tatum’s Jeffrey Manchester — based on a very real dude, who became infamous in the late ’90s for breaking into various fast food joints through the roof, then robbing them in quite respectful fashion — admire Dunst’s Leigh Wainscott from afar, kind of. Manchester’s crimes did catch up with him, and when he was thrown into prison in 2000, the way-too clever former soldier cooked up a daring escape, which eventually led him to a natty hiding spot: in a suburban Toys “R” Us.

In Cianfrance’s film, which he wrote alongside Kirt Gunn, Dunst’s Leigh works at that same Toys “R” Us (the real Wainscott didn’t). As Jeffrey carves out a strange (and sometimes fun) existence inside the store, he notices Leigh, a single mom with a sterling work ethic and a real sense of right and wrong. And when he just so happens to run into her at her local church (where the real Manchester and Wainscott met), their immediate chemistry turns into a warm romance.

In a film filled with insane details — most of them true! — Dunst and Tatum are so believable and so real that their bond turns a nutty true crime story into one of the year’s most unexpected crowdpleasers. The first step for both of them? Maybe some nerves about sharing the screen with someone they already liked so much.

“I saw ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ but I wasn’t an actor then, so I didn’t have that [feeling of], ‘I want to work with that little beast of a girl in that movie,’” Tatum said of the first time he remembered taking notice of Dunst. “That movie? She’s literally blowing [out of the water] two of the biggest movie stars and best actors of any generation … I don’t know how that little person just had that in them. She’s now just a little taller, and it’s the same fire in there.”

Dunst seemed to recognize Tatum’s range early, noting that she loved him in both “Foxcatcher” and “21 Jump Street.” “I knew working with Chan was going to be… I just knew,” she said. “I had a feeling about him, and I was right.” (Reasonable!)

Tatum credits Cianfrance for recognizing that his stars would vibe, both in front of and behind the camera.

“Derek really knew that Kirsten and I were just going to immediately connect and get each other,” Tatum said. “We’re very similar in a lot of ways, in the way that we approach the world or move through the world. He just knew, ultimately, that that was going to work, and then we’re just going to genuinely like each other. I think our acting style is very similar. Sometimes you work with people who are so aware of the camera and what they’re doing, and saving their really good stuff for the close-up. And it feels a little, I don’t want to say manipulated, because sometimes that really works. I don’t ever judge anybody’s process, because man, some people give incredible performances that way.”

Dunst was more to the point: “It’s selfish, really. I like to work with people that aren’t selfish actors,” she said. She didn’t need to worry about that with Tatum, who still beams when he thinks back to the first day the pair got to work together.

“If anything, they kept hiding us from each other during the prep for this movie,” Tatum said. “Derek really wanted the first time that we genuinely got to connect and really talk and meet each other [to be] on camera for the very first time, and that was the very first take of the Red Lobster scene. There’s, I don’t know, what, 14, 15 other actresses at that table? And Kirsten just became my safe space. I was so nervous to get to act with her, and then, take one, we just looked at each other for the very first time, and I was just like, ‘Oh, OK. Everything’s going to be OK.”

The scene in question follows Jeffery (going by the name “John Zorn”) and Leigh’s first official meeting, when she invites him to a post-church meal at a local Red Lobster with a bunch of other singletons (all women) from their congregation. Even at a big table in the middle of a chain restaurant, the pair’s giddy chemistry is obvious.

For Dunst, that scene felt “dorky and fun,” the start of something new for both of the characters. “I just had to feel like a woman who is blown away by this guy and trying to figure it out,” Dunst said. “I feel like she’s someone who hasn’t giggled genuinely in a while, or had these feelings that she’s feeling. It was just embracing your inner happiness.”

After the pair leave the restaurant, a blushing Leigh makes a bit of a move on Jeffrey, shyly asking him out on a date. It’s a light, lovely moment, built on the first flush of romance. “Just leaning into all that, because it makes it feel real,” Dunst said. “And that’s what Derek is always fishing for: the most real and authentic performances.”

“The real Jeff told me that Leigh was actually the one moving it forward,” Tatum added. “I think she pushed him against a van and kissed him first, and he was like, ‘Whoa! Jesus.’ Very forward and strong, and he liked it. And he’s goofy, so I get to be goofy in that scene, and the scene outside by the car is just really sweet. We don’t really know each other yet, so we were still trying to figure it out.”

[Editor’s note: Spoilers for the last act of “Roofman” follow.]

One of Dunst’s best scenes, at least by Tatum’s estimation, isn’t even in the final film. Jeffrey’s misdeeds and real identity are, of course, eventually found out. As the walls start closing in, Jeffrey starts to flee, heading to the airport and away from Leigh and her two daughters, who are expecting him for Christmas dinner. But when Leigh calls him, he can’t resist her gentle asks as to when she might expect him.

And though it’s not entirely clear to Jeffrey at that moment, as the audience, we get an inkling of what’s happening: Leigh has been tasked with bringing him back in. In the final film, we only see Tatum’s side of the conversation, but Dunst’s was also shot, with a cadre of cops around her, forcing her to trick the man she loves.

“God, one of Kirsten’s best-acted scenes in the movie, they’re all great, but there was this one,” Tatum said. “I watched the whole scene. I was there watching the scene, and it is just crushing. She’s getting interviewed by the real cops that actually arrested Jeffrey, and they were interviewing her like they would a real suspect, and she just nails this thing. It’s killer.”

The scene didn’t ultimately make it into the film, mostly because everyone agreed it gave too much away and detracted from the raw energy of what Tatum is experiencing in that moment. Dunst doesn’t get fussed about that sort of thing. Even if that scene is not in the film, the emotion is.

“The real Leigh was there that day,” Dunst said. “It didn’t bother me at all, although other people projected that it should bother me. But it didn’t at all. And I felt like, ‘Oh, we shared something in life, kind of’ in that moment for her.”

When Jeffrey arrives at Leigh’s apartment, we know what’s about to happen: He’s going to get caught. As a distraught Jeffrey is grabbed by the cops, a horrified and heartbroken Leigh sits unseen in a cop car, mere yards away. Dunst’s face in these moments is a revelation, her emotions so present, her expression so raw.

“I don’t really think about what I’m doing with my face, because then I probably would not be genuine,” she said of that scene. “I did listen to a Nina Simone song during that take. Sometimes, I look for other people’s performances, whether it’s a live performance [or something else], and that connects me to the realness of being a human being. I think your job is just to give your guts. You know what I mean? And so I just try and put myself in a place that feels authentic for myself, and I think that people can smell whether something feels genuine or not.”

Tatum nodded next to her. “‘Give your guts’! I love that. I’m stealing that,” he said.

Dunst chuckled. “Otherwise, what am I doing here? You know what I mean? It’s a job that I do,” she said. “I don’t think, ‘Oh, people are going to watch this and judge me.’ I don’t judge myself, I don’t judge… And you know what? If people don’t like me anymore, then I’ll go do something else. It’s like, I don’t know what to tell you. This is what you get.”

Tatum smiled at his co-star. “I think you’re good. I think they like it. I don’t think you have to do anything else.”

A Paramount Pictures release, “Roofman” is now available on digital platforms.

Victoria Beckham Pre-Fall 2026 Collection

by jummy84 November 28, 2025
written by jummy84

A little considered aspect of the London landscape is how it’s home to so many of the world’s strongest women designers. Among those who maintain studios in the city are Phoebe Philo, Stella McCartney, Sarah Burton, Clare Waight Keller, Roksanda Ilincic, and Victoria Beckham. They also happen to share a generational position—age 50 or thereabouts, with loads of children between them. Plus: based on decades of work and life experience, not to mention emotional and practical intelligence about clothes, these are designers who know exactly who they’re dressing.

The documentary of how Victoria Beckham has hit this in-her-prime phase as a designer is playing on Netflix—she’s in America promoting it now. The dramas and pitfalls of her startup years make for some cliff-hanging moments until she reaches the point of confidence and focus that her collections exude now. One thing that’s not changed: She’s always there to talk through her collections, just as she did from the beginning.

Her grown-up proposition revolves around dresses and tailoring, a clarity honed from the experiments she talks about as a girl, and the early tutoring of Roland Mouret, who taught her to drape on her own body—that, and a self-confessed control freak image-consciousness honed from a lifetime of being photographed from every angle. Exact but relaxed, her pre-collection balances glamour with practicality, without skimping on design.

When you have a great cut, why throw it away? The VB blazer is a signature testament to that; it’s tailored to read oversized, with pressed sleeves, but actually skims in to give a sense of waist. This season, the nonchalant detail of a cutaway collar jumps out: a chic note of deconstruction adding oomph to an impeccable failsafe piece.

Dress-wise, she’s mastered the highly tricky art of asymmetry. There’s something in the liquid flow of the shapes—satin, lace, or jersey—which vaguely echoes the 1930s (she said she’s been looking at the Marchesa Casati). The construction shows clearly how she thinks of the body in the round: hemlines dip, a shoulder’s bared, a ruched zone clasps a waist, a scarf-like drape flows down a back. Lately, Beckham has been practicing this herself when out and about with her husband and family and in front of King Charles. Grand, but quite simple in effect, it’s her own look that radiates the confidence of a grown woman.

The Largest Wedding in Iraq, Designed by Hollywood Event Designer Adam Afara… A Royal Night Celebrating Ali & Ghaliya at the World Heart Hotel

by jummy84 November 27, 2025
written by jummy84

In a scene reminiscent of fairytale legends, international event designer Adam Afara orchestrated one of the most extravagant weddings ever held in Iraq. The spectacular celebration of newlyweds Ali and Ghaliya took place at the World Heart Hotel, attended by prominent figures from the worlds of entertainment, fashion, and society.

This majestic wedding united Adam Afara’s creative signature with the designs of renowned couturier Zuhair Murad, and unforgettable performances by stars Melhem Zein and Hussam Al-Rassam—transforming the event into a lavish royal showcase rather than a traditional ceremony.

After months of meticulous planning, Adam Afara’s team brought to life a fully integrated vision featuring custom-made décor sourced from six different countries, and more than 40,000 fresh flowers adorning the ceiling and the entire ballroom—turning the venue into a suspended celestial garden.

The bride’s gown, designed by Zuhair Murad – Couture, embodied the elegance of a modern princess and perfectly complemented the wedding’s regal identity.

Even the finest details reflected exceptional craftsmanship:

  • The invitation card was inspired by a royal palace gate, harmonizing with the stage décor and ballroom aesthetics.
  • Two exclusive luxury fragrances were created as personalized gifts for the bride and groom, each bearing their names.
  • Custom-tailored table linens were designed specifically for the wedding to match the floral palette and lighting design.
  • A bespoke song performed by Melhem Zein added a personal touch, narrating the couple’s love story.

One of the evening’s biggest highlights was what Adam Afara unveiled as the largest wedding cake in Iraq—a grand royal palace–themed masterpiece, measuring 180 cm in diameter and 3 meters in height, adorned with fresh flowers, angels, and spiral staircases. The cake became a stunning visual centerpiece in the heart of the ballroom.

With this royal wedding, Adam Afara adds yet another milestone to his international portfolio as a Hollywood celebrity event designer, reaffirming his ability to transform a once-in-a-lifetime celebration into an unforgettable visual and emotional experience.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office: Kartik Aaryan Nails A Simple Strategy

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office Strategy For Kartik Aaryan Might Be A Winner!(Photo Credit –YouTube)

There is a very distinct line between a star turning into a superstar, and much of it has to do with the box office success of films. Kartik Aaryan found his footing as the box office superstar once he bailed Bollywood out of the pandemic low with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s winning run. This was followed by the trilogy’s success on Diwali 2024, and now the actor is continuing the streak this Christmas with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.

The actor has moved from the horror-comedy zone to the breezy, romantic warmth of this romantic comedy that is arriving this Christmas, and the winning formula seems very clear for Kartik – own the festive calendar and rule the number game!

In Bollywood, the festive season is the ultimate battlefield for box office supremacy. While it was once the sacred domain of the five senior superstars, the holiday season is now owned by the younger lot as well. Kartik Aaryan proved his box office potential with his Diwali winner Bhool Bhulaiyaa and in Christmas 2025, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is all set to follow the lead.

This is the time when a holiday release guarantees good numbers, and Kartik Aaryan‘s strategic planning for locking the festival and ruling it with numbers seems to be on point! And honestly, this festival booking seems to be working with Kartik since the audience trusts him with the kind of cinema he offers, the one that can be enjoyed with your loved ones over the holiday season!

While Diwali is about family gatherings, Christmas is about cosy romance, hope, and feel-good stories. Kartik’s strength lies in his ability to tap into this charming, heroic zone and connect with his audiences instantly. He comes with the guarantee of entertainment.

Kartik Aaryan, in recent times, has emerged as the most bankable bet at the box office, and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri‘s Christmas release is surely hinting at a powerful success story at the box office.

For the unversed, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is directed by Sameer Vidhwans and produced by Dharma Productions & Namah Pictures. The film stars Ananya Panday along with Kartik Aaryan.

If minimalist nail art is more your thing, then Wendy’s pared-back take on festive nails will certainly appeal. There’s still glitz in the form of 3D pearls and golden rhinestones, and the petite dots of color really pop against a sheer, milky base color. Kevin Spacey Set To Face Civil Sex Assault Claims In London Court

Kevin Spacey Set To Face Civil Sex Assault Claims In London Court

by jummy84 November 27, 2025
written by jummy84

Kevin Spacey will face civil claims of sexual assault from three men at the High Court in London next October.

A British performer named Ruari Cannon, who has waived his right to anonymity, and two other claimants who have not, have alleged Spacey abused them between 2000 and 2015.

A judge set the provisional trial date of 12 October 2026 for the cases at a hearing earlier this week. Spacey denies all the allegations.

Spacey was cleared of nine sexual offence charges at a criminal trial in 2023. He was also found not liable in a U.S. civil case brought by actor Anthony Rapp, who alleged Spacey molested him when he was 14.

Spacey made headlines last week with an interview with The Telegraph newspaper during which he described his financial situation as “not great,” adding, “I’m living in hotels, I’m living in Airbnbs, I’m going where the work is. I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

The House of Cards alum, who last year appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss his debts, including the foreclosure of his Baltimore abode, said, “The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical. I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”

Spacey likened his predicament to the experiences of actors of yore, who were swept into the Hollywood blacklist as a result of McCarthyism. He cited Kirk Douglas’ willingness to work with screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, then blacklisted, as the type of strategic allyship that could help him right the ship.

“So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call Evan [Lowenstein, Spacey’s manager] tomorrow, it will be over,” he posited. “I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone. And I believe it’s going to happen.”

Most recently, Spacey wrapped production in the U.K. on an under-the-radar sci-fi thriller called The Tenth Planet. The project was on sale at this year’s American Film Market.

This year’s slate of the best Black Friday clothing deals has kicked off in full force, and they’re good. Trust me: I’ve been writing about every Cyber Week for the past five years, and 2025 feels different. I’ve never seen such a high volume of genuinely worthwhile Black Friday sales, with buzzy retailers that almost never do discounts (like Quince, Free People, Reformation, and Lululemon) jumping into the fray.

Don’t stop to marvel—now’s your chance to beat the rush and snag the best stuff—winter coats, trendy boots, gym-ready leggings, seasonal dresses—while it’s actually still in stock. Get out ahead of the pack with my edit of the best Black Friday fashion deals I’ve seen so far, including festive J.Crew cardigans, baggy jeans at Old Navy, and faux-fur coats from Mango. Keep checking back, since I’ll be updating this page regularly with the most exciting style finds throughout Cyber Week.

Lululemon’s We Made Too Much section just got a cold-weather revamp, now flush with Cyber Week-exclusive specials. Whether you’re in the market for winter-friendly running jackets or some of the brand’s best leggings, you’ll find them at pretty nice discounts, both for yourself and for all the fitness-obsessed people on your list.

Lululemon Align High-Rise Leggings

Nordstrom kicked off its Black Friday sale days ahead of schedule this year, but don’t worry: It saved the best stuff for right now. We’ll never complain about scoring up to 60% off cute dresses and suede boots, which would make a nice outfit together; consider this your fleeting chance to snag all the staples you’re missing.

Farm Rio Garden Silhouette Dress

Marc Fisher LTD Mavey Boots

Here’s a great reason to give thanks: Today only, Free People’s entire site is 15% off. Everyone has their own favorite cuts and finds from the boho retailer, but I’ll point you toward these two never-on-sale picks that’ll be on heavy rotation this season. Puffer jackets and black jeans for all!

Free People Pippa Packable Puffer Jacket

We the Free Good Luck Barrel Jeans

J.Crew’s current sale—40% off everything, plus 50% off sale items with code FRIDAY—has led to some eye-popping deals on the winter wardrobe essentials you already have on your wish list. Don’t miss a holiday-ready cardi or the perfect winter dress as you dig through the many thousands of deals.

J.Crew Classic Fair Isle Cardigan

J.Crew Seamed Sheath Dress

While you might associate the retailer with everyday essentials like toothpaste and socks, Amazon’s Black Friday clothing deals aren’t messing around. So many gems have been marked down, but I narrowed it down to these trendy toppers: a cropped puffer vest for less than it cost to make your Thanksgiving side dish and curved-heel slingbacks that are begging to be worn to a holiday party.

Tankaneo Cropped Trench Coat

22élevé Suede Curved-Heel Pumps

After a long drought between truly noteworthy sales, Abercrombie has blessed us with a standout of a Black Friday deal: at least 25% and as much as 50% off everything, including plenty of new arrivals. Get the sweater dresses and patterned puffers while the getting’s good.

Abercrombie & Fitch Sherpa Short Puffer

Abercrombie & Fitch Hardware Keyhole Maxi Sweater Dress

I know you know this, but just so you know: Reformation barely ever offers discounts, so the whole 25% off sitewide situation that’s happening right now is very much worth a look. A dazzling party dress and a suede bag that looks like The Row are just the start.

Reformation x Nara Smith Drizzle Dress

Reformation Oversized Patrizia Bag

For a brand that holds few sales, Spanx sure is kicking the shopping holiday off with a bang: 30% off most of the site, with a few half-off deals sprinkled in for good measure. We love the brand’s shapewear and tummy-hugging leggings, but you might want to start with this perfect off-duty winter outfit. Throw on some sneakers and you’re good to go.

Spanx Faux-Leather Leggings

Spanx Half-Zip Sweatshirt

Hello, winter trends! Mango is always a reliable source for pieces that feel now, and with a huge swath of the site now up to half-off through November 30, it pays to scroll through all the many discounts. Your appetizer: a faux-fur coat and an argyle sweater.

Mango Wool Coat with Faux-Fur Collar

Mango Argyle Knit Sweater

One of the coolest mall brands on the market, Madewell is currently offering 40% off nearly everything on its site. I can hardly believe that both of these very now (and highly giftable) finds are included in the sweeping discounts, and I’m not waiting around for them to disappear. Go forth!

Madewell Chunky Cable-Stitch Beanie

So, this basically never happens—tons of styles are up to 70% off over at Dôen right now. I’d advise you act before they disappear, since there’s no telling when the brand, one of the hottest labels on the market right now, will drop the act.

Savvy shoppers know to expect Alo’s sitewide Black Friday sale every November, and luckily for all of us, it’s finally here. I’m using the 30%-off event to snag all the gym staples and loungewear I’m missing for the chilly months ahead, although there’s also plenty of gifting potential (especially for teen girls) here.

Alo Airlift High-Waist Suit Up Leggings

Old Navy’s current deals include some 50- and 60%-off finds, plus up to 40% off so much more stuff. Finds like winterproof turtlenecks and trendy jeans belong to the first category—and are ready to elevate your next tailgate, grocery run, or backyard hang.

Old Navy SoSoft Turtleneck Sweater

MIA reacts to the Chancellor’s Autumn Budget 2025

The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has reacted to the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s 2025 Autumn Budget, which was presented in the House of Commons today.

The MIA’s chief executive, Shonali Devereaux, said on the following areas:

Business Rates

“The government’s proposed reforms will provide welcome relief for over 750,000 retail, hospitality and leisure properties through lower business rates from April 2026. However, it is crucial that we receive confirmation that event venues are included within these defined industries. This statement from the Chancellor again reinforces the long-standing need for business meetings and events to be recognised as a distinct sector.

“While our industry’s inclusion in the Business Rates reform would be a positive step, reminiscent of the targeted support venues received during the pandemic, many larger venues could still face increased costs to compensate. We have long called for broader support across the sector, and without clarity and comprehensive measures, this reform risks placing additional strain on the large venues that host major events, potentially impacting their ability to invest, grow, and maintain the high-quality experiences that underpin the UK’s events economy.”

Minimum Wage Increase

“The business meetings and events sector has long provided a gateway into employment, providing vital first-step opportunities for young people, students and those re-entering the workforce. We fully support measures that enhance financial security for workers, but we must also recognise how our industry is uniquely exposed to the impact of minimum wage increases.

“Many event venues and agencies rely heavily on temporary and casual staff to manage natural fluctuations in events and varying service requirements. As wage rates continue to rise alongside broader inflationary and operational costs, profit margins are being squeezed further, which could lead to reductions in staffing levels and, consequently, service and experience quality. This pressure risks weakening pathways into meaningful, long-term employment while placing additional strain on the workforce. Our MIA Insights already show that business meetings and events professionals are under pressure, and these changes are likely to intensify those challenges unless carefully managed within the context of our sector’s staffing model.”

Apprenticeships

“The MIA welcomes the announcement of fully funded under-25 apprenticeships for SMEs , providing a guaranteed pathway for young people into training, education or work. With the persistent skills shortages and high recruitment pressures our sector currently faces, this could significantly strengthen the talent pipeline to enable more venues and agencies – many of which are SMEs – to bring in and train early-career talent to support the development of practical skills our industry needs.

“Our industry has been proactively exploring ways to support and develop early-career talent since before the pandemic, ready to embrace the next generation and build a stable, future-ready workforce. Through The Power of Events, we have pioneered a not-for-profit framework, including school engagement initiatives, to support apprenticeships and develop early-career talent. This announcement reinforces our commitment to continuing this work, and we look forward to hearing more about how our industry can lead in this area”

“The MIA has welcomed productive discussions with government departments in recent months, giving us confidence that our sector will receive the recognition and support it deserves in line with our economic contributions. In light of these discussions and today’s announcements, we now look forward to further conversations to ensure clarity on how these changes will affect our industry and how we can secure the support needed for continued growth.”

Snowy Survival Story from 1920 ‘Hazel’s Heart’ Movie Official Trailer

“When all seems lost… the heart prevails.” Samuel Goldwyn Films has debuted the full official trailer for an indie survival thriller film titled Hazel’s Heart, based on a true story from the 1920s. It’s the first feature film directed by North Dakota producer / writer Daniel Bielinski, and will be out on VOD directly later in December coming up. Based on the true story of Hazel Miner, now turned into this religious fable. In March of 1920, three children become lost in a white-out blizzard in the middle of North Dakota. For the next 25 hours, they must fight to survive while their father leads a desperate hunt to find them before it is too late. A powerful story of perseverance and survival in freezing temperatures. The film stars Madelyn Dundon as Hazel Miner, Stelio Savante, Genevieve Bielinski, Xavier Bielinski, Timothy E. Goodwin, David Michael Reardon, with Franni Cash, Todd Terry, and Laurie Fortier. This looks blatantly cliche and cheesy, of course, but I’ll give them some credit for trying to recreate the blizzard to film in to tell this story.

Here’s the official trailer (+ poster) for Daniel Bielinski’s film Hazel’s Heart, direct from YouTube:

In March of 1920, just outside of Center, North Dakota, Hazel Miner (starring Madelyn Dundon) and her two siblings – Emmet and Myrdith – are getting ready to leave from school. The students have been sent home early as the weather has started to turn from gentle snowfall to what looks like it could be a terrible snowstorm. As the siblings struggle through the wind and snow, their sled overturns into a coulee and the three take shelter to try and survive the night. As they fight to stay warm and awake, their parents and friends work furiously to try and find them before it’s too late. Hazel’s Heart, formerly known as just Hazel, is written and directed by American indie writer / producer / filmmaker Daniel Bielinski, directing his first feature film after writing on A Heart Like Water and End of the Rope previously. Produced by Dave Diebel, J. Brockton Holbert, Rachel Morrison, Carson Nordgaard, Kayli Schadler, and Daniel Bielinski. This hasn’t premiered at any film festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Samuel Goldwyn Films will release Bielinski’s Hazel’s Heart film direct-to-VOD starting December 23rd, 2025 coming up. Want to watch?
