Spring 2026 Runway Trends That Will Influence Design

by jummy84 October 17, 2025
written by jummy84

Fashion and interior design have always been closely connected—both serve as expressions of personal style, culture, and mood. Yet when new runway collections debut, our first instinct is to think about how they’ll influence our wardrobes rather than our living spaces.

With that in mind, I decided to look at the spring 2026 runway collections from a different angle this time—spotting those that are not only poised to dominate the season but also translate beautifully into interior design. Spring, after all, is a time of renewal—the perfect moment to rethink our surroundings, declutter our homes, invest in new meaningful pieces, or spring-clean, as some like to call it.

That spirit of fresh starts carried on the runways with a wave of newly appointed creative directors unveiling their debut collections at legendary fashion houses. Each brought a fresh perspective—honoring brand heritage while reimagining it for today’s world. For example, Louise Trotter presented a mix of bold, playful ensembles and classic, sophisticated ones at Bottega Veneta, Matthieu Blazy redefined the classics at Chanel, and Jonathan Anderson showcased a wildly imaginative and fantasy-like line at Dior. These creative shifts signaled a broader reset—not just for the brands themselves, but for the direction of fashion as a whole.

When it comes to the overarching trends, designers demonstrated that they are helping guide us into a new era of personal style and craftsmanship. Instead of embracing “quiet luxury” or cookie-cutter trends that seem tailored for the algorithm, they are encouraging a return to personality, playfulness, and self-expression. The runways increasingly showed this through color, texture, and pattern. For a closer look at the top spring 2026 runway trends that will shape the future of interior design, continue scrolling. Additionally, Brittny Button, interior designer and founder of Button Atelier, shares her expert perspective on how these aesthetics can be adopted at home.

As mentioned, designers this season challenged what is considered cool or trendy, pushing quiet luxury aside and embracing loud luxury and maximalism instead. This was evident in ’80s-inspired styling seen in collections from Elie Saab, Stella McCartney, and Valentino. Think sculpted shoulders, nipped-in waists, and precise tailoring. Dramatic bows, silk blouses, and leather pencil skirts were key pieces, along with luxe metallics, jewel tones, and patterns like pretty polka dots, moody florals, and sophisticated snakeskin. Burton notes that this concept “translates into interior design through strong angled furniture, circular shapes, and fabrics with bold patterns.” It can also be simpler, using gold and amethyst purple touches, as well as quilted leather furniture or stainless steel décor.

A key theme on the runways this season was color, specifically the bold clashes of contrasting hues. These are shade pairings you might not initially think work, but they surprisingly do. Collections from brands like Balenciaga, Prada, and Versace featured unexpected color combinations such as red, blue, and purple or yellow, pastel green, and orange. They showed us that you can wear color and still look refined by sticking to classic, minimal silhouettes and relying on colors to elevate the look. Whether painting each wall a different hue or adding a colorful book to your coffee table, there are many creative ways to incorporate color into the home while making it feel like you.

If your goal is to create a home that feels warm, layered, and visually compelling, incorporating textural elements is essential. Take cues from the spring 2026 runways, where designers like Altuzarra, Brandon Maxwell, Chanel, and Bottega Veneta, among many others, embraced tactile richness through materials such as fur (yes, even for spring), leather, and, notably, fringe. These textures add dimension and depth but also a sense of comfort and refinement. In the home, they translate beautifully through upholstery, soft furnishings, and curated accents. “Heavy fringe borders are already everywhere,” shares Button. “It gives incredible visual movement and drama.” Beyond fringe, Button notes that mohair, bouclé, performance velvet, and vintage distressed finishes are fantastic juxtapositions, especially if used in the same space.

A common theme across the fall/winter 2025 and spring/summer 2026 collections was a sense of softness, ethereality, and overall joyfulness, expressed through billowy, lightweight fabrics and soothing, airy colors. At Chloé, this was reflected in lace trims, ruffled hems, and tiered designs. Zimmermann showcased draped fabrics in bubblegum-pink hues, creating a delicate aesthetic, while Simone Rocha highlighted sheer materials and pearls. Dior’s designs combined empowerment and glamour with cinch-waist pencil skirts, flowing lace dresses, and floral motifs. Button notes that this trend can extend to home décor through “crescent-shaped sofas and round mirrors that mimic the female form. It’s these organic shapes and undulating lines of soft S curves that feel soft and overwhelmingly female.” Even incorporating floral-patterned pillows, flower-shaped dishware, or lace-like wallpaper can help one achieve the aesthetic at home.

From Tory Burch to Versace, Prada to Toga, preppy style made a confident return to the runways, but this time with a bourgeoisie twist. It wasn’t about 2000s-inspired schoolgirl nostalgia. Instead, it felt elevated and mature, similar to what sophisticated dressers might wear at a country club. Think double-breasted navy blazers adorned with distinctive buttons, slim pencil skirts with skinny belts, layered button-up shirts styled with ease and elegance, and stripe sweater-vests paired with trousers. New England–inspired elements also made a striking appearance, most notably at Celine, where models carried horseback-riding helmets embossed with the Celine logo. Just like in fashion, taking this aesthetic into the home involves crispness and structure. “The preppy-nouveau trend can be seen in interiors when there’s an infusion of crispness,” Button shares. Picture interiors with tailored lines; navy, cream, green, and brown color palettes; and accents of leather and wood. It can also be seen through equestrian artwork, plaid rugs, and leather sofas. “Buttons offer a tailored approach for sofa upholstery which feels art nouveau inspired,” Button adds.

6 Chic Coat Trends You’ll Want to Wear Well Beyond Winter 2025

by jummy84 October 14, 2025
written by jummy84

So many labels—Chloé, Valentino, Simone Rocha, Alaïa, you name it—showed faux fur this season, proposing the luxurious (and cruelty-free) material as the perfect finishing touch to any cold-weather ensemble. Play around with different lengths, finishes, and silhouettes; whether you prefer a cropped, collarless topper or a floor-skimming maxi, these coats work wonders against frigid temps. Style them with black trousers and loafers for a sophisticated, low-effort look, or go with a miniskirt, fleece-lined tights, and knee-high boots to go full boho.

Without question, deep, rich brown is the color trend of the season. And while you should also add it to your boots and bags, it might just look its best in the form of an oversized layer. It’s just as easy to wear as classic black (and looks great with the shade), but is just different enough to stand out—perfect for anyone who likes to make a subtle statement. Pair it with black boots or ballet flats in poppy shades like lavender or red.

How to Wear Oxford Shoes With All the Fall and Winter 2025 Trends

A printed suit set finds the perfect anchor in black oxford shoes. This mix breathes order, but without stiffness. Prefer a suit in a solid color? It’s just as effective an outfit idea if you go with a bright, unexpected pop of color. This look proves that elegance can also be relaxed, as long as the contrasts are perfectly balanced.

More than just a shoe, oxfords symbolize an attitude: that of someone who masters the balance between tradition and modernity. They function as a bridge between the classic and the experimental. Their magic lies in the fact that they can transform any look without stealing the limelight—the perfect anchor point in a world that moves far too fast.

Fall 2026 Wedding Dress Trends, According to Kyha Scott

Fall 2026 Wedding Dress Trends, According to Kyha Scott

by jummy84 October 11, 2025
written by jummy84

Over the past year, I unexpectedly found myself immersed in the wedding industry. I’m not complaining, though. To my surprise, I’ve had the chance to attend beautiful runway shows and meet one-on-one with many talented designers. It even led me on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Amanoi in Vietnam for Kyha’s fall 2026 runway show.

Kyha is an Australia-based bridalwear brand that creates pieces for the fashion-forward bride who isn’t afraid to challenge traditional boundaries. (It’s also launching a ready-to-wear collection in November.) Kyha Scott, the founder and creative director, launched the brand in 2011 after being disappointed with the overly traditional wedding dress options she encountered while searching for her own. In Vietnam, I had the chance to sit down with her to learn about her new collection, Waterlines, and get her insights on the bridal dress trends she expects to dominate in fall 2026.

“There used to be a certain formality to a wedding or a way that you should dress, but now, brides are breaking all of those rules and doing what’s right for them versus what they’re expected [to do or wear],” she tells me. “It’s becoming prevalent in the way that we’re seeing different outfits, such as bridal suiting, and in color as well.” Her fall 2026 collection—which is inspired by Vietnam’s flora, fauna, landscape, and craftsmanship—clearly reflects that shift.

When it comes to color, many pieces on the runway featured a deep ivory, which Scott believes will be prominent in fall 2026. “Bright ivory is having a very strong presence in the market, but now, I’m seeing that lean into a deeper ivory,” she says. “I think we’re going to see a lot more brides move into that colorway, which … I think is a bold choice.” While the collection showcased many moments of ivory, it also included a bright green called Bitter Lime. “Green is a huge part of the landscapes here [in Vietnam], so I really wanted to work within that color scheme and make the collection pop,” she notes. “It can be a challenging color to work with, but I like the challenge.”

Other bridal trends Scott predicts will be popular include lace dresses, those with draped details, and an overall focus on texture. Out of 19 looks, nine featured lace, and two included feathers. “The brand doesn’t believe in using feathers, but I love the texture of it, so we worked very hard, and that has been in development for a long time to have their laser-cut organza and then hand-sewn down so that it can create that feathery look, lightness, and texture while remaining sustainable,” she notes. That’s not all. For more insight into the bridal fashion trends that Scott expects to dominate in fall 2026, keep scrolling. Plus, discover the new collection.

Reverse-V Waistlines

This may be controversial, but the basque and drop-waist silhouettes in wedding fashion have started to feel overdone. That’s why it was refreshing to see Kyha reinterpret this dramatic shape with a new perspective, focusing on a reverse-V waistline. This was demonstrated in its River dress, crafted in ivory duchess satin and a striking burnt gold. It offers the same drama and princess-like effect in a fresh way. Expect to see more of this style from now until the end of 2026.

Sweetheart Necklines

A woman wears a gown with a sweetheart neckline and long straw earrings.

Kyha incorporated the sweetheart neckline in some of its previous collections, but for fall 2026, the silhouette really shines. This time, the design takes inspiration from the lotus flower, as mentioned in the brand’s press release. The flower is a symbol with deep cultural meaning in Vietnam, representing purity, strength, and resilience. While the neckline dates back to the early 20th century, Kyha reinterpreted the design through a modern, fashion-forward lens, making it feel fresh, elevated, and, of course, intentional.

Kyha, Raina Dress

Lace, Lace, Lace

Lace is very much in, and many fiancés will be embracing the romantic aesthetic in 2026. You can make a real impact with a full lace gown or consider a dress adorned with elegant lace accents that delicately frame key areas. The charm of lace lies in its remarkable versatility, effortlessly complementing a wide array of personal styles and helping each wearer express their individuality on their special day.

Drapery

A woman wears an off the shoulder draped gown.

One trend, both in ready-to-wear and bridal, that has been gaining popularity over the past year is the draped dress, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s in draping along the neckline (as seen in Kyha’s Blyth dress) or done asymmetrically across the hip (as seen in its Eaton, Wilton, and Sen styles), there are many ways to wear this relaxed and luxurious design. What’s great about it is that it makes a statement for a minimalist dresser while also feeling pared down yet perfect for a maximalist. Plus, the dress does the work for you, making anyone look like they’ve hired a stylist.

Capes

A woman wears a white cape.

Kyha consistently blurs the lines between high fashion and weddingwear, so it’s no surprise that the brand’s latest collection features polished capes—a trend we’ve been seeing in ready-to-wear from designers like Proenza Schouler, Burberry, and Chloé. Kyha’s version, crafted in lightweight chiffon, is the perfect piece to throw over a wedding dress as an alternative to a veil. It can also be styled with a skirt and a bralette for the after-party or paired with jeans for a polished yet casual courthouse look.

Top 8 autumn fashion trends that are dominating 2025 runways and street style

by jummy84 October 10, 2025
written by jummy84

Autumn is here and it is that golden-hour season where the air turns crisp, the coffee turns pumpkin-spiced, and your wardrobe officially gets its annual glow-up. This year, fall fashion isn’t about blending in with beige knits and boring boots. It’s about making headlines with bold textures, unexpected layers, and nostalgic nods.

8 Autumn fashion trends that are dominating 2025 runways and street style(Pexels)

So, pack away those summer slides and let’s talk about the 8 autumn style trends that are stealing the spotlight this season.

1. Red alert: Crimson takes over

Move aside, neutrals because red is the new black. From cherry to wine, every shade of red is dominating runways and streetwear alike. It’s bold, confident, and impossible to ignore. If you’re slipping into a scarlet trench coat or pairing ruby heels with denim, red adds instant drama.

Style tip: Pair a monochrome red outfit with gold accessories for a fiery statement that’s equal parts chic and rebellious.

2. The return of the maxi coat

Say goodbye to cropped jackets because maxi coats are sweeping back into fashion. These floor-grazing beauties are equal parts cosy and commanding. Think oversized silhouettes, soft wool, and exaggerated lapels.

Style tip: Let your coat do the talking, wear it over a fitted turtleneck and straight trousers to keep the proportions balanced.

3. Preppy revival: Gossip Girl energy

The preppy aesthetic is back and it’s not just for school uniforms. Think plaid skirts, cable-knit vests, crisp shirts, and loafers, all styled with a playful twist. It’s Ivy League meets downtown cool.

Style tip: Mix academia with attitude. Pair a structured blazer with chunky boots or add a pop of colour to your pleated skirt moment.

4. Metallic magic

This autumn, we’re turning up the shine. Metallic fabrics are everywhere, from silver midi skirts to gold bomber jackets. These pieces catch the light (and everyone’s attention) without feeling too “New Year’s Eve.”

Style tip: Keep your metallics daytime-friendly by pairing them with matte textures. Think silver skirt + oversized knit sweater = perfection.

5. Quiet luxury, loud effect

Think understated opulence; clean lines, quality fabrics, and minimalist silhouettes that whisper, not shout. Cashmere, silk, and structured leather are the key players here. The “old money” aesthetic continues to reign, but with modern tailoring and warm, neutral tones.

Style tip: Invest in timeless pieces like a camel coat, crisp white shirt, and leather loafers as they’ll carry you through every autumn for years.

6. Power of plaid

No fall is complete without plaid, but this year, designers are remixing it with brighter hues and bolder scales. Oversized checks, tartan trousers, and patchwork blazers bring this classic pattern back with a contemporary punch.

Style tip: Mix prints fearlessly as plaid pairs surprisingly well with stripes or florals when kept in the same colour family.

7. Leather weather (but softer)

Leather is having a major fashion moment. But now it’s softer in texture and pastel in shade. Think blush leather trenches or olive-green pants. It’s edgy but elevated.

Style tip: Balance the sheen with cosy knits or denim to make your leather look autumn-ready instead of night-out-only.

8. Statement scarves and chunky knits

This season, accessories are the main event. Supersized scarves, cable-knit sweaters, and textured layers are bringing cosy couture to the streets. Knits are chunkier, sleeves are longer, and scarves are practically blankets and we’re not mad about it.

Style tip: Go for a tonal knit-on-knit look in creams or greys for a high-fashion, low-effort autumn vibe.

This fall is all about contrasts where bold meets subtle, classic meets futuristic. If you’re draping yourself in fiery reds or wrapping up in oversized knits, the message is clear: individuality is the season’s biggest trend. Forget playing it safe; mix eras, play with proportions, and own your autumn story.

5 Paris Fashion Week Street Style Trends That’ll Be Everywhere in 2026

by jummy84 October 9, 2025
written by jummy84

With Fashion Month now in the rear-view mirror, the biggest Paris Fashion Week street style trends are still lingering in our minds. If New York’s looks were all about adding a hint of pizazz to an everyday outfit, Paris’s take felt a bit more down-to-earth—touching on fall trends we’ve seen on the runways, but with that classic French ease. (Think effortless elegance.)

Even with trends that may seem intimidating at first—take a skirt over pants as a prime example—with a little bit of inspiration (and maybe even a pick that does the styling for you), it’s much easier to imagine incorporating them into your everyday. Other key pieces we’ve had our eyes on this autumn, like capri pants and animal-print flats, enjoyed a big showing throughout the week and are simple additions to your fall wardrobe with the power to effortlessly transform your look.

Glamour’s Paris street style trends wish list

1. Capri pants

Edward Berthelot/Getty Images

On the streets of Paris, showgoers were divided between a very Audrey Hepburn–coded slim capri-pants silhouette and something with a slightly baggier, more relaxed shape. With either take, our favorite way to style them for the months ahead is to pair them with oversized outerwear that contrasts with their cropped hems. Pair them with tall boots, or try a pair of heels for a dressier take.

2. Animal-print shoes

Animal print is a neutral in our book, which is why we love it as a subtle styling addition to a tailored, quiet luxury-adjacent look. One of our favorite shoe trends of fall 2025, leopard, snake, and zebra print enliven any silhouette you can imagine. If your style leans bold, try embracing the look full-on by pairing your fresh footwear with a matching jacket or top. Or for a more subtle styling surprise, simply wear the shoes with an otherwise pared-back look, like trousers and a trench coat.

3. Playful print-mixing

Print-mixing may seem intimidating, but it’s a relatively simple trick to pull off—and something you can achieve with what’s already in your closet. Styling a set of contrasting prints makes for a playful outfit, which is why it was one of our favorite Paris Fashion Week street style trends this season. (Stealth wealth, who?) Bottom line—you’ll look like you put in a lot of effort, even if it took you two minutes to pull your look together. Our tip: Try a coordinated color palette, and mix up the print sizes to keep the pieces from competing with each other.

4. Skirts over pants

Another simple yet impactful styling trick is to mix a skirt and trousers, a look that popped up all over Fashion Month. While many brands have done the heavy lifting to create a skirt-pants hybrid—skants? pirt?—you can also DIY the look. It’s especially effective when the skirt has a bit of volume or is made of a sheer fabric to really make the effect pop. Since your bottom half will be especially busy, keep things sleek up top with a simple tank, a plain T-shirt, or a sleek leather jacket.

Good news for everyone who loves to feel comfy, even when dressing up: Sporty styles like track pants and polo shirts played a major role in the outfits among the Paris Fashion Week crowds. While these wardrobe staples might be styled with other comfy favorites like hoodies and sneakers for a casual day working from home, give them an elevated twist by wearing them with unexpected dressy styles, like a tailored skirt or pair of heels.

All the Trends at the Spring 2026 Alexander McQueen Runway

Paris came alive as Creative Director of Alexander McQueen Seán McGirr, Sarah Burton’s successor, unveiled his interpretations of the uniform for the spring 2026 runway show during fashion week. To the upbeat sounds of pop and EDM, models strutted down the runway in reimagined British military jackets, corset details “liberated from tradition,” fringe handbags, and sensual low-rise bottoms. McGirr drew inspiration from Robin Hardy’s The Wicker Man, with strong tailoring of clean lines and contrasted deviations from the conventional uniform and suit.

Spring next year seems to promise rebellion in the realm of fashion as McGirr enthusiastically encourages diving into desire. “We push against nature, tempering instinct in the name of order. What happens when we give way, satisfying our deep-seated desires and innate impulses? What does it take to stir and submit to that primal drive?” the creative director asked in the show notes. Ahead, see the key trends and celebrity front-row style moments from McGirr’s subtly erotic collection for spring 2026.

Low-Rise Everything

According to McQueen, spring and summer 2026 will be all about low-rise bottoms, from “professional”-looking pencil skirts to Y2K-style skinny and straight-leg jeans. Hip-hugging bottoms rather than waist-hugging will be a fashion-crowd favorite. High-waisted bottoms have been on the outskirts of the fashion set’s mind for a few seasons now, but next spring will be a full commitment to low-rise.

Twisted Uniforms

British military jackets, as well as blazers, were made casually cool on the McQueen runway. Lapels sat curved, patch pockets were included, and tailoring was still hitting the mark throughout McGirr’s subversions.

Unexpected Corset Details

Rather than extra-tight corsets, McGirr included looser variations of the Victorian-era detail on not just tops but also full-length dresses, boots, and deconstructed skirts. This level of detail is a telling sign of where trends are heading in the upcoming year

Fringe Handbags

Many of the runways this fashion month have debuted an iteration of the fringe trend, but McQueen’s has been the most intriguing thus far. Long- and short-handle bags in various shapes, from large bucket bags to mini triangular-shape bags, graced the runway. The materials of each bag were also different, but from the same vein, including chain-link metal, leather, and multicolor PVC.
