If you have a sensitive scalp, Santiago says this Clairol dye is gentle on the hair and scalp “yet still delivers full gray coverage without harsh chemicals.” This pick is proof that drugstore hair dye has changed a lot. The box dye kit is ammonia-free and provides excellent gray coverage while also supporting hair health with AHAs and a bonding treatment for post-hair dye care. The drugstore hair dye is available in 18 different shades, including plenty of blonde options for low-maintenance gray coverage as well as several brunette tones and gorgeous copper colors.
Best for Men: Just For Men Shampoo-In Color
- Pros: Easy-to-use shampoo-in formula; long-lasting gray coverage; application takes five minutes
- Cons: Amazon only carries the dye in four black and brown shades
This long-lasting permanent hair dye features a shampoo-in formula that is “easy to use and blends gray naturally in five minutes,” says Santiago. Thanks to its ease of use and quick application process, it’s a fabulous beginner-friendly choice for men who haven’t colored before. It’s also enriched with strengthening and hydrating ingredients such as keratin, olive oil, and vitamin E to support aging hair and works well with all hair types.
Best Spray Cover-Up: dpHUE Color Touch-Up Spray
- Pros: Great for instant root touch-up; quick-drying
- Cons: Washes out (but doesn’t wear off)
This hair spray formula is enriched with biotin to strengthen strands and is great for those in-a-pinch moments when you can’t get in to see your colorist (or are in between appointments) and need some believable coverage. Santiago likes this option because it offers “instant [and] temporary root coverage that washes out.” And, despite its washable nature, it is quick-drying and doesn’t wear off unless you introduce water, so you don’t have to worry about it getting on your clothes or bedding.
Best Demi-Permanent Hair Color: Schwarzkopf Keratin Color Hair Color
- Pros: 100% gray coverage; hair-strengthening formula; easy application process; long-lasting color up to 10 weeks
- Cons: Not a permanent hair dye
While this option is technically permanent, it’s actually closer to a demi-permanent hair color, since it lasts up to 10 weeks. Santiago says it’s a great choice for full gray coverage and has “built-in keratin to strengthen and protect hair.” This box dye is the best hair color for DIY gray coverage, thanks to its easy application process (though, warning: it can get messy!) and strengthening ingredients, including keratin and a Bond Enforcing System. It also comes with a post-treatment serum featuring vitamin B6 and collagen for strong, healthy-looking strands.
Best for Sensitive Scalps: Herbatint Permanent Hair Dye
- Pros: Alcohol and ammonia-free; 100% gray coverage; formulated with herbal ingredients
- Cons: Some customers say the formula temporarily causes an itchy scalp
Hair dye can cause some scalp irritation, so if you have sensitive roots, Santiago says to consider opting for this gentle at-home option made with organic herbal ingredients. The Herbatint Permanent Hair Dye is one of the best hair dyes for sensitive scalps thanks to its ammonia-, alcohol-, and fragrance-free formula. “[It’s a] natural, plant-based formula that’s gentle but effective for covering grays,” Santiago notes. The color formula is enriched with tons of incredible herbal extracts, including meadowfoam, white birch, aloe vera, echinacea flower, rhubarb, witch hazel, walnut, and bark extract to support hair health. And despite its gentle formula, it can fully cover gray hair. To be on the safe side, be sure to do a patch test before diving headfirst (pun intended) into this kit.
Best Gloss Conditioner: dpHUE Gloss+
- Pros: Lasts up to eight washes; great at-home toner; provides a natural color look; up to 12 applications in one bottle
- Cons: Doesn’t permanently cover grays
Must Read: Victoria Beckham Sales Are Rising, Victoria's Secret Sets Date for 2025 Fashion Show
These are the stories making headlines in fashion on Wednesday. Both the fashion and beauty categories of the Victoria Beckham brand are experiencing increased sales for a fourth year in a row. In 2024, revenue for Victoria Beckham Holdings Ltd spiked 27% as compared with 2023, totaling more than …

Like many, fall is my favorite season by a mile. And because of this, I tend to overdo it when it comes to shopping this time of year. As soon as the boots, sweaters, jeans, and yes, jackets hit the new arrivals sections of my favorite retailers, my willpower is out the window. But this year, I’ve decided to make some changes—starting with jackets.
Outerwear is one of those categories that doesn’t cycle in and out of style quite as quickly as other types of fashion items, so I tend to hang on to my jackets for years. Because of this, I don’t really need to invest in every jacket trend there is each fall, tempting though it may be. So for fall 2025, I refuse to buy more than three jackets. The trends I’ve narrowed it down to are versatile and only mildly trendy, so I know I’ll still be enthusiastic about wearing them long after this particular fall.
If you want to know what I think are the top three jacket trends to buy this fall, keep scrolling to see them in action on cool fashion people, and shop them for the jacket section of your closet.
Stand-Collar Jackets
Call them what you want—stand collar, funnel neck, turtleneck—these jackets are the definition of chic. Every outfit they’re paired with becomes infinitely more cool and elevated in an instant. And whether you choose to go with a sporty technical fabric (such as nylon) or an elegant classic one (such as wool), you can’t go wrong. I can’t decide so I might have to add both to my wardrobe.

Checked Jackets
Recent collections by The Row and Bottega Veneta have moved checks into the forefront this season. What once was a classic print is now trendy. For the most part, check print can be found in the form of car coats, barn jackets, and trenches, in keeping with the English countryside aesthetic. And predict this trend will fly out of stock.

Oversized Leather Bomber Jackets
The leather bomber jacket trend isn’t new for fall 2025, but it’s set to be bigger than ever this season. It’s a piece that looks as cool with sweatpants as it does a satin slip skirt. If I had a dollar for every cool influencer or fashion person I’ve seen wear a leather bomber this year, I could buy one of these jackets.

Tennis fans, get ready: This weekend, the 2025 US Open officially kicked off in New York. Meaning, over the next two weeks, the leading tennis tournament will host a number of exciting matches—including appearances from top athletes such as Coco Gauff, Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, and more.
While the courts will be filled with A-list tennis pros over the next few days, the fans in the audience are bound to be just as star-studded as well. After all, the US Open has a history of attracting celebrity spectators: Last year, everyone from actor Lindsay Lohan to model Kendall Jenner was spotted cheering athletes on at the games. And the best part is, not only do these stars go to the event to witness their favorite players in action—they also go to be seen themselves, bringing their best courtside outfits for the occasion.
One day in, for instance, and there have already been a number of celebrity sightings in the US Open crowd. On the opening day, stars such as Tina Knowles, Spike Lee, Victor Cruz, and Chelsea Handler all took in matches. And as the event continues unfolding over the coming days, there will be plenty more starry cameos—so be sure to check back here as we update all of the best spottings in real time.
Below, see all of the stars spotted at the 2025 US Open.
But what surprised me even more is how lovely it looks when I leave it straight. I adore the way it frames my face at the front, and my ends appear so healthy, with plenty of shine, playfulness and movement. “This haircut suits a lot of people because it’s very versatile and it can be worn curly or straight,” Hägelstam confirms. “You can play with the shorter layers, but there’s still an illusion of thickness thanks to the dynamic layers, and it’s long enough to be tied up.”
Was it scary? What was one particular challenge you still think about?
Starting something from nothing always carries risk, but I’ve never been afraid to gamble on my ideas. I bet on myself early on, even when there wasn’t a clear roadmap. A challenge sometimes is the possibility of being misunderstood on the internet in general. Instead of letting that stop me, I used it as fuel to double down on authenticity and clarity, knowing the right audience would connect and it has.
I think there are so many scary parts of opening yourself up and starting a brand. As long as you are a kind leader, work hard—your character will ultimately shine through.
Do you think consumers care about who actually owns the businesses they spend on? If not, should they?
I think people should. Especially today. People want to buy from people. Ownership shapes vision, quality, and values. Supporting founders who are hands on and deeply invested often means you’re supporting something more real and lasting, I think.
What’s one key piece of advice you’d give to other women looking to start their own business?
Don’t wait to feel ready. Go! Start small, but start. And keep going, even when you’re doubted. If you have a passion for it, you have a calling and an obligation to yourself to see it through.
What time do you get up?
I usually get up around 8:30 am. I like mornings to feel unhurried, even if my day isn’t.
What’s your typical morning routine?
Always a cappuccino, then I try to spend at least 15 minutes in my backyard or garden, and then I drive to the office.
What was your first childhood dream job?
A professional ski racer.
The Chestnut Floral Bedding Kit
Your first actual job?
I’ve been working for as long as I can remember. I used to run a lemonade stand all summer at 7 and started babysitting at a young age. I was always obsessed with having my own money and the independence that came with it.
My first real job was as a waitress, then I worked retail at a clothing store, and later at Insomnia Cookies in college. There was never a point in my life where I wasn’t working, and each job taught me something different about people, service, and building a strong work ethic.
How do you typically deal with rejection in your field?
Rejection in my field is constant. Nos are good! They tell me I have work to do and I love the challenge. If it’s not a yes, it’s either a learning experience or it’s clearing space for something better.
How do you typically procrastinate?
I have ADHD…so this is common. I am either laser focused or getting distracted. I procrastinate by getting lost in little creative side projects, Pinterest, gardening or calling my fiancé.
What’s one decision you made that everyone told you not to—but you’re glad you did?
Launching Dairy Boy without a traditional business plan or a business model. It was pure intuition at the start, my marketing brain and creativity, an authentic story, and I’m so glad I trusted it.
Outside, it was an ordinary August weekend in Minneapolis — farmers’ markets, hangover-fueled coffee runs, patio brunches — but inside the city’s convention center, something else entirely was brewing. Aveda Congress, the brand’s highly anticipated hair show extravaganza, had taken over, drawing …

I’ll admit it: I’ve always been a little wary of white heels. One wrong step onto grass or a light scrape against a wall and suddenly they look scuffed, tired and—dare I say it—cheap. Because of that, I’ve historically kept my distance. Still, I couldn’t deny that whenever I have spotted the style on someone else, I found myself admiring the fresh lift it brought to an outfit. In fact, no other shoe shade has quite the same ability to add instant lightness to an ensemble.
This week, Amal Clooney made the strongest case yet for divisive shoes. Arriving at the start of the Venice Film Festival, she stepped out in the very trend I’ve been debating for years: a pair of white slingbacks. Clooney styled hers with a butter yellow, calf-grazing dress, leaning into a soft and pretty palette that perfectly complemented her equally airy shoes.

Often reserved for brides, white heels, with their versatile neutral finish, prove surprisingly wearable beyond the aisle. Clooney’s look is proof, as the shoes held their own against the notoriously tricky shade of pale yellow. Beyond this pairing, this fresh shade pairs easily with classic denim, as well as black, warm browns and jewel tones.
So yes, white heels require a little more TLC to stay pristine, but when they are looked after, the payoff is worth it. Keep scrolling for my edit of the best white slingback heels to channel Clooney’s elegant look.

As Summer Ends, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber Find Their Easy, Breezy Matching Couples Style
It’s been a big summer for the Biebers. While Hailey Bieber bid farewell to butter yellow and announced lemon as the seasonal color du jour with a Rhode launch and trip to Mallorca (and a Vogue cover to boot), Justin Bieber dropped his long awaited album Swag, brought his brand Skylrk to life, and got even more active and vocal on socials.
Yesterday (August 26), the Biebers stepped out for smoothies at favorite L.A. hotspot Kreation, following a friend’s child’s birthday party. Both kept it casual in summery whites and denim to pick up a selection of colorful cold ones. While Hailey opted for a racerback white tank top and loose-fitting, low-rise indigo blue jeans with black flip flops, a black woven shoulder bag, and a set of slim oval sunlgasses, Justin wore an oversized white and pink graphic shirt with super wide denim shorts, a gray fisherman hat, sporty pink lensed sunglasses, tube socks, and sandals from his own label Skylrk.

It’s not often that the Biebers find the same rhythm with each others sense of style. Hailey has spent the summer enjoying the season’s biggest trends, from the Emilio Pucci print revival, to polka dots and capri pants (at the same time too), and elevated all-black looks. Of course, it’s never too long before she’s spotted in her uniform of sleek tailoring and sandals at Sushi Park, or shopping at Brandy Melville for basics with Kendall Jenner. And, every so often, you’ll see her in those bubbly Skylrk platform mules on her way to pilates. Justin, meanwhile, delights in the most gargantuan hoodies and bottoms, bulbous footwear, and sporty accessories, while always wearing something from his own brand too.
While the Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber codes of style have been long set and it’s rare that they’ll find a sartorial meeting point, sometimes, they find the beauty in the most simple beats.
