Labubu Is Turning 10! To Celebrate, Its Creator Kasing Lung Is Collaborating With Moynat

They’re everywhere: You see them in the subway, on the streets, all over your social media feeds, and even in our street style galleries. They’re at the US Open with Naomi Osaka and on tour with pop superstar Lisa. From high-brow fashion folk to your colleagues’ toddlers and even your adult friends themselves—everyone’s succumbed to the beguiling, mischievous little creature known as Labubu, the monster toy popularized as a bag charm earlier this year. Now, you can find Labubu not just hanging from your accessories, but on the accessories themselves: Labubu creator Kasing Lung has partnered with French luxury trunkmaker Moynat to release a special capsule collection.

For those new to the Labubu craze—the creature has been something of a cult figure in Asia for a few years now—here’s one thing you should know: Labubu has siblings. Inspired by Nordic folklore, Lung created the character 10 years ago in 2015 with a trilogy of books under the franchise Monsters, which eventually gave way to an entire universe of products, from books and prints to toys and figurines, including the beloved Labubu figurines that have become so omnipresent these days.

“I will tell you, I never imagined that this would happen,” offered Lung, calling in from Hong Kong, about the ongoing Labubu craze. “The starting point of The Monsters was the story, I wanted to make a picture book about different kinds of monsters, my fans loved it, and then year after year it became more serious,” he said. “But what’s most important to me is that the project is about storytelling, that is what I’m working on with Moynat as well, about telling a story. I like to have my paintings on the bags because I want to tell stories with my painting.”

The capsule features Labubu and its siblings, Zimomo and King Mon, all on black monogram coated canvas tote bags and mini trunks. They also appear as all-over prints on leather handbags and two passport holders. Labubu specifically turns up exclusively on the small leather goods, primarily on colorful bag charms that see him rendered with the Moynat monogram all over its body.

The partnership with Moynat marks the first time Lung has opened up The Monsters to a Western luxury label. (Pronounce, the independent Shanghai-based label, has an ongoing collaboration with PopMart and Labubu—as I write this I can see a purple edition of the toy hanging from a colleague’s handbag at the Vogue offices.) “My fans, everyday they leave a message on Instagram or [via] email asking about The Monsters,” Lung said. “The question they ask the most is when we were working with a luxury brand.”

The capsule is being announced today, but will become available from October 11 in Shanghai. It will then embark on a world tour, landing in Paris during Art Basel from October 21st with further stops in Taipei in November and Hong Kong in December. It will then arrive in the US in early 2025. Did you think that the Moynat Labubu would be easier to get than the perennially sold-out figurine? Think again!

Christopher Briney-Leonardo DiCaprio Comparisons Are Going Viral, and We Can’t Unsee It

Christopher Briney and Leonardo DiCaprio are two very, very different individuals. Briney is a 27-year-old at the brink of superstardom thanks to a breakout role as Conrad Fisher on The Summer I Turned Pretty, a TV show that is ostensibly for teens, but in reality has captured the hearts of viewers across generations. DiCaprio, 50, not only has 23 years on Briney age-wise, but an IMDb that reads like a page of a film history textbook.

But there’s something about both actors which has caught the internet’s attention, and it’s not just that Briney bears a slight resemblance to DiCaprio in the ‘90s, when the latter was at the peak of his heartthrob status. (Though, wow, I can’t unsee it.) Briney and DiCaprio also share something more singular, and more rare, than a haircut or a disarming, boyish smile: They have “it”—the intangible star quality that has made them the obsessions of their respective generations.

Comparisons between the two actors began cropping up on my social media feeds in late summer, weeks after the July 16 premiere of the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. However, it wasn’t until Prime Video shared this side-by-side composite of Briney during what fans refer to as “the bathtub scene” (though it’s much more PG than the name insinuates), and DiCaprio in 1997’s Titanic, that the Christopher Briney-Leonardo DiCaprio comparisons really began going viral.

The bathtub scene from TSITP appears to be a shot-for-shot homage to Titanic, with the added bonus that Briney’s tousled mop of hair has beads of ocean water dripping from its tips. The fact that the sexual tension between Conrad and Belly (Lola Tung) is never broken—as is famously the case in Titanic‘s “car scene,” which needs no further description—only adds to the allure of this broody, occasionally “sassy,” but mostly big-hearted character that Briney has brought to life.

Many of the other side-by-sides of the two actors zero-in on Briney and DiCaprio’s physical similarities—the swoopy hair, center-parted and prone to flop, the green-blue eyes, the heart-shaped face—but I find the purely physical comparisons to be missing the point. What really intrigues me about the comparisons is Briney’s skill as an actor. While Jenny Han deserves all the credit for crafting such a rich, complex character, there’s no doubt that Briney’s performance as Conrad elevates the entire show. He can convey pissy immaturity, vulnerability, and heroism all in the same breath, a hallmark of many leading men before him—not just DiCaprio.

That’s not to say Briney is deserving of an Emmy quite yet, but hey—the guy’s got potential. And it’s probably why the Chris and Leo mashups have gone as viral as they have. A specific haircut and the ability to charm on a press tour can make a temporary It boy of any old beautiful man. It’s talent that can keep him there.

11 Celebs Wore *This* Foundation at the Venice Film Festival

by jummy84 September 9, 2025

There’s only one foundation that meets (nay, exceeds) virtually every standard for icon status. It’s A) recommended by an overwhelming number of makeup artists, B) editor-approved, having won a Who What Wear Beauty Award, and C) worn by celebrities when they walk the red carpet in front of screaming fans and high-definition cameras.

Most recently, 11 celebrities wore it while on the red carpet at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. Yep, 11, including Gemma Chan, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Sofia Carson. If that’s not proof it has a next-level formula, then I don’t know what is. Ahead, see the exact foundation and how it looked IRL.

Yep, it’s Armani Beauty’s cult-favorite Luminous Silk Foundation. Makeup artists and facialists recommend it to literally everyone. Take it from celebrity makeup artist Tobi Henney, who previously told Who What Wear, “I love Armani Luminous Silk, as it creates such a healthy-looking glow to the skin. It has buildable coverage, which works perfectly depending on how you like your skin to look.”

Etienne Ortega is a celebrity makeup artist and the founder of Ortega. His clients include Lana Del Rey and Christina Aguilera. He previously told Who What Wear that it’s his “favorite foundation of all time.”

Skin experts say it works just as well for oily and acne-prone skin types as it does for dry skin types (and everything in between). It’s thanks to a hydrating formula that doesn’t clog pores or exacerbate acne. “I always recommend Armani Luminous Silk to my clients with oily or acne-prone skin. Its light, oil-free formulation gives your skin a luminous glow—just like its name promises—without causing any acne or congestion,” says esthetician Dakota Katt.
