Edeline Lee Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

It began with the hits: a mock-neck dress in ankle-length charmeuse; a cap-sleeve shift in bubble flou jacquard; a georgette garden-party frock in watercolor polka dots. Then the smoke machine kicked in, and everything we’ve come to expect from Edeline Lee flipped on a dime. Prim sashes unraveled into rouleau tassels. Tassels multiplied into tendrilous gowns. Hemlines split from their bodies and floated on hoops. Hoops morphed into helter-skelter showpieces. And was that—huh?—Charli XCX rattling the walls of the St. George Ballroom? “I might make clothes for ladies,” Lee said. “But I’m still that fashion kid who refuses to be put in a box.”

For Lee, that meant calling time on the elaborate happenings—theater shows, sound baths, lectures, flash mob breakfasts—that have long been her chosen format, and instead do the most conventional thing of all: putting spring 2026 on a catwalk. “The pressure is on,” she said, during a preview of the collection in her Limehouse studio. “Because now it’s the clothes that have to tell the narrative.” This one took its cue from the fleeting magic of a traveling circus—here one night, gone the next—triggered in part by the candy-striped interiors of Lee’s Harrods concession. Those appeared in pale pink and mint circle skirts with varying hoop inserts—an architectural riff on the Big Top—while ruffled collars and dickies nodded to pantomime clowns like Pierrot, and sequined columns to the glitter left in their wake. “We already have a strong line of commercial pieces,” the designer said. “But to prove we can do a show in a runway format, the clothes had to bring the fun.”

So there was a clear sense of Lee wanting to challenge assumption, which leads us to her first foray into knitwear: a handful of her signature silhouettes—the best-selling Pedernal among them—reimagined in flechage panels of sustainable FSC viscose. “People automatically assume I want to do fuzzy sweaters,” she said. “But these are the chic, multi-functional pieces my woman needs.” It was an addition so instinctive you wondered why she hasn’t done it before. But producing knitwear in Britain—a non-negotiable for Lee, who continues to manufacture everything in her atelier—is anything but straightforward. “It’s been a real labor of love and yet so much more pleasurable than DHL-ing it all off to China,” she said. “Made in England means something, but we don’t give it the same weight as other nations. We need to support British fashion.” There’s a message worth firing from a cannon.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Movie: Everything We Know

Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) was surprised by Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) when he turned up at her doorstep in Paris, France, for her 22nd birthday. While their initial greeting was awkward, Belly slowly opened up to Conrad and showed him Paris through her eyes. After introducing him to her friends, the pair began to reminisce about what had gone wrong in their past relationship, before delving into a steamy encounter. Conrad declared his love for Belly, but she wasn’t sure about her feelings, so he left for a conference in Brussels. In true rom-com form, Belly realised she’d never stopped loving Conrad, and poured her heart out to him on the train. We saw a glimpse of their future as they returned to the summer house in Cousins, but there was noticeably no wedding.

At 95, June Squibb Is Embracing the Future

You turn 96 later this year. Is there anything that scares you now?

I think the only thing that scares me now is what’s happening or going to happen to my body. And at my age, I probably wouldn’t even have said that five years ago. But as you get older, I think it’s something you have to deal with and think about.

How do you deal with those moments when you get scared then?

I go to Pilates once a week. Kelly and I both do. I always stretch in the morning when I first get up, and that helps. And I’ve been using a cane just for security. That helps, too. I’m not ignoring it, but it’s something I think about.

I’m proud of you for doing that and for saying that.

I have so many doctors now, it’s crazy. And they’re lovely. They’ve just been great. They all look at me like, June you’re nuts, but that’s okay.

Why do they look at you like you’re nuts?

Because I go in and I say, “I’m working again. I have another job.” And they’re like, “You’re doing what?” Also, I used to get up in the middle of the night to feed my two cats. One left us a few weeks ago, but I still have one, and I would get up in the middle of the night anywhere from 2:30 to 4:30 a.m. and feed them. And my heart doctor said, “You what?” And I said, “I get up in the middle of the night and feed my cats.” He says, “You can’t do that.” I said, “Well, I have to. They get hungry.” He was just appalled at the fact that I was getting up in the middle of the night and feeding two cats. I would get up half asleep and feed them and think nothing about it. My doctor raised hell when he found out I did that. But the one cat that’s not with us anymore was a biter. My arms are so scarred from being bitten. That’s what he’d do when he was hungry. If I had an arm out, he would find it. But to me it was like, yeah, I have to do this. They’re hungry.

Well, I kind of agree with your doc about waking up in the middle of the night to feed the cats, but I do think it’s great you’re still working and taking on new projects. It keeps you young.

Oh, it does. Yes. And I meet people. My friends are wonderful because they know I’m going to be gone for a bit working, but I’ll be back. It’s great. I love it.

By the way, you have the most beautiful skin. What do you attribute that to?

Very little. I have had no work done. It would scare me. I don’t know how women do it. Men too. I mean, I don’t know how they do it, getting cut into. I couldn’t do it. I just use soap and water on my face. I go to a facial place once a week to get a facial. Or I try to at least. I think my genes are good, also, but it’s soap and water.

That’s amazing. Meanwhile, what role would you like to take on next?

I want to do an assassin movie where I’m the assassin. It’s kind of like when I did an appearance on American Horror Story. I said, “I have to do this. It’s a vampire. I’ve never been a vampire.” And it turns out it was a leprechaun. It wasn’t a vampire, but they drank blood. Well, beet juice. But it was important to me; I could not let this go.

So after Eleanor the Great, what’s the next role for you? Before you play an assassin, of course.

Lost & Found in Cleveland, which is going to open November 6. Stacy Keach and I play husband and wife. Martin Sheen is in it and Dennis Haysbert and Jon Lovitz. It’s an antiques road show, but they do it like it’s happening in Cleveland. It’s a wonderful thing.

Eleanor the Great is in theaters on Friday, September 26. For more Icons Only features, with legends like Reba McEntire, Andie MacDowell, Jean Smart, and more, click here.

How New York Designers Are (or Aren't) Using AI in 2025

During the Fall 2025 shows in February, the Fashionista team asked designers about their use of rising technology like AI. Most of them honestly balked at the idea, indicating a general reluctance to embrace (or at least admit to embracing) AI tools in their processes. But in the six months since …

Face-Framing Layers Are Having a Major Comeback This Autumn

Ask me where to look for the latest hair trends and I could tell you so many different things. Runways, street style, hair experts, editors, the list goes on. However, there’s no denying that celebrities hold a certain power when it comes to hairstyles. From Hailey Bieber’s iconic blunt bob to Daisy Edgar-Jones’ boho fringe, I’ve drawn plenty of inspiration from celebs over the years, which is why, when I saw Elsa Hosk’s new face-framing layers on Instagram, I texted my hairdresser straight away.

While Hosk is known for her tousled, wavy bob, lately she’s been sporting a long, 90s-esque, tapered haircut that looks impossibly chic. With Bieber also growing out her bob into a longer, layered hairstyle, I do not doubt that this trend will be making a major comeback this autumn.

The key to making this cut look as stylish as possible is to accentuate your layers. If you have curly or wavy hair, embracing your natural texture can help to add even more movement to your cut. If your hair is on the straighter side, try using a hot brush or rollers to style your layers inwards for that ’90s finish.

Below, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite hairstyles with face-framing layers that I know will be bang on trend this autumn.

I love how these layers start right at the jawline to really frame the face.

Hailey Bieber is a big fan of this haircut, and these layers help to add movement and bounce to her ends.
