Paolina Russo Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear Collection

The starting point for Paolina Russo’s spring 2026 collection came during a research trip to Ilsan, northwest of Seoul—a city known for its vast array of vintage shops. “They have these mountains of vintage, from America, the UK, everywhere,” the brand’s namesake co-founder Paolina Russo said in a preview. The brief? To find archival designs that read “Laura Ashley meets sport”—which, unsurprisingly, was a near-impossible task. “There weren’t any clothes exactly like that, but we were kind of clashing together silhouettes,” Russo explained.

Laura Ashley’s ditzy florals might seem a million miles away from Paolina Russo’s trademark jersey tops and optical illusion prints, but Russo and co-founder Lucile Guilmard wanted to explore a more feminine side this season. This could be seen via the lightweight chiffon handkerchief dresses, adorned with a combination of Liberty-esque florals and graphic sports jersey numbers—collaged together using blown-up photographs of archival designs from previous seasons. The pastoral theme (also reflected by this season’s deliberately low-fi lookbook, featuring photographs taken by Russo during a hike in Wales) continued with the pair’s “girly” take on a tracksuit, in the form of an elasticated maxi skirt and matching zip-up jacket, featuring distorted picnic blanket checks.

The brand’s lighter, more wearable knits were also new for this season—painstakingly developed in collaboration with a vertical factory in Hong Kong that manufactures everything from “fiber to final garment.” While in the past, Paolina Russo has arguably found more success with its fall collections—thanks to its popular warrior princess knits and laser-printed denim—spring 2026 marked a pivotal moment in the brand’s development. “We feel like it melds all the things that we’ve been building for the past few seasons, but it’s now more of an expanded wardrobe,” Russo said. “It’s one of our favorite collections.”

What was the process of bringing the collection to life?

The process took more than two years from start to finish. It was meticulous, and honestly, at times, really challenging because I’m incredibly picky when it comes to the details – from the exact shade of a color, to the texture and formula, to how it looked when applied, and even how long it lasted. Every single element had to feel perfect. One of the biggest surprises we faced was when our manufacturer suddenly cancelled on us a year into the process, which forced us to essentially start over. That pushed the launch back by another year, but in the end, I think it made the collection stronger, because I had even more time to refine every detail.

Meet Aanya Sachdeva, the Designer Whose Motto Is ‘Fashion for Change’

Growing up just outside of Boston, Aanya Sachdeva started her design career early. Really early. The fashion design major was around seven when she began transforming old clothes into custom outfits for her American Girl dolls.

“What started as a quick and fun hobby turned into a real passion for me,” she tells Glamour. “I began creating one-of-a-kind pieces for friends and family and learning how to express myself through design.”

Then, at 11, came another formative moment: At a presentation by pediatric cancer charity Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, Sachdeva heard a girl her age speak about having cancer. “That really shook me,” Sachdeva says. “I felt this strong urge to help.” And so, her first brand—Aanya’s BOWtique, a line of handmade hair bows—was born. She sold her custom creations at local fairs and online and donated her earnings to charity.

Now at the Parsons School of Design in New York City, Sachdeva has rebranded Aanya’s Boutique into AANYA NYC. “That allowed me to dream even bigger,” she explains. “I’ve learned that if I stay true to my creativity and my beliefs, I can design with purpose and focus on ethical and sustainable fashion that inspires change. Fashion is about more than clothes. It’s also a platform to tell stories, to raise awareness, and to really make an impact. I love to design with my motto: fashion for change.”

Being at Parsons and in New York City has already opened several doors for Sachdeva. Last year, she got the opportunity to present her pieces in her first fashion show. With only about a week’s notice, Sachdeva put together a collection of 16 looks to walk the runway. It was such a success that the company asked her to present again at a New York Fashion Week event. (That time, she had three weeks’ notice.)

“It wasn’t 100% perfect,” Sachdeva says of putting together a collection in such a short timeframe. “But it was such an amazing feeling seeing these looks that I worked really hard on—even at school, I was crocheting under the desk—go out there in front of a whole audience.”

Sachdeva says she thought back to herself when she was seven, in her bedroom hand-sewing clothes for her American Girl dolls. “It was a surreal moment,” she says. “It’s one of my favorite things that’s ever happened to me.”

Who is your personal style icon?

Aanya Sachdeva: Growing up, my personal style icon was actually always my mom. She loves bold colors and statement pieces, and she isn’t afraid to stand out in a crowd. Similarly, my other style icons, like Tyla, have that same bold approach to fashion. I love people like that.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to use fashion as a way to inspire people and drive positive change in the world. I want to grow AANYA NYC into a brand that stands for purpose, and that can mean collaborating with non-profits or even creating new systems that reduce waste and push the industry towards sustainability. Designing unique, ethically made pieces will always be at the heart of what I do, but I want my brand to represent something bigger than that.

“People are telling me that they’re feeling a new energy,” British Fashion Council CEO Laura Weir told me from the front row on Sunday. “There’s a feeling of revitalization in the city — from dawn until dusk, there’s so much happening. It’s a new era for British fashion.” Indeed, the Spring 2026 …

The Best Zara Pieces for Autumn 2025, As Tried and Reviewed By a Fashion Editor

Welcome to The Great Try-On. With autumn well and truly in the air, we seized the opportunity to try on some of the best new-in pieces from some of your favourite brands, documenting the process along the way. We believe that the best way to shop online is to see an item IRL and to read candid reviews, so we hope that this leads you to your most successful purchases of the year.

Dare I say it, but there is one store on the High Street that always delivers, nay, overdelivers on the trends we most desire when the new season starts setting in. That one store is, of course, Zara. Tasked with checking out their latest offering of autumnal goodness, I sent myself on a retail safari to one of their biggest stores in central London.

I know all to well that shopping IRL can be busy, stressful, and overstimulating, so I took it upon myself to get out there and do this for you (I know, you can thank me later!). This is what The Great Try On is all about!

Right now, Zara is brimming with great suede pieces, coats and jackets, contemporary denim sets, lace-trimmed separates, skirts, suiting, and an abundance of fabulous accessories, from satin scarves, of-the-moment shoes, do-it-all all handbags and artful, statement jewellery. And these are the things Zara does best—directional and trend-led pieces which, if bought with a discerning eye and thoughtful investment, will fast become wardrobe staples that ultimately feel like they can take pride of place in your wardrobe for a long time. And helping you build a considerate and hardworking closet is our MO here at Who What Wear UK, so I gave the best pieces I could find a go, as well as providing some pros and cons for fairness.

For context, I am 5’8′, and typically take a size 12, Medium or Large, which suits my height, shape and curves. Most items I tried on were pretty bang on true to size, which eliminated any guesswork. A lot of the items I tried on were straight cut, a-line or a little oversized, which I much prefer over anything too slim-fit and figure-hugging. A lot of items in Zara begin at XS and end at XL, which could be better, but is sadly pretty standard for the high street.

Scroll on for the standout Zara autumn items I spotted in-store, which you can now browse online now for your convenience. Happy shopping!

1. Funnel Neck Jacket + Satin Separates + Leather Loafers

My Review: If you know me, you know I am a sci-fi girlie through and through, so building a look that resembles and honours Trinity from The Matrix, one of my biggest on-screen icons, gives me great, unrivalled joy. With that in mind, I naturally gravitated towards this high-shine, funnel-neck black jacket, which looks perfectly capable of outrunning and outsmarting many an agent. Funnel-neck jackets are really taking off at the moment, and so I wanted to get in on a slice of the action myself. I gave this one a go in a medium size (spot on, with an oversized fit), which is from Zara’s premium selection. I loved its ultra-light feel and the paper-crisp quality, allowing for ample layering underneath, and ruching where you want it (it is equipped with drawstrings, stoppers and elasticated cuffs.) My only hesitation with this jacket is that it is made from a real mix of man-made fabrics, including polyurethane and polyester. If I were to truly invest in a classic jacket like this, I would want to opt for a 100% leather version, for that real luxury finish.

To play up to the glossy black texture of the jacket, I paired it with Zara’s bestselling lace-trimmed cami, which has been spotted on so many stylish people on the streets and on Instagram this summer, in pastel and off-white variations. This autumn, Zara are keeping the people happy, bringing it back in an all-black colourway. This top alone is spot on for date night dressing, and its asymmetrical shape allows for the lace to peek over or pop out from under any layering, whether that’s sweaters, skirts or denim (all of which are very Olsen coded). I spotted the corresponding skirt, but this time, in a chocolate tone, which, when worn together, gives a rich, added dimension to the look. To finish, a black east-west bag in a rectangular shape (not laptop friendly, so perhaps keep shopping around if this is a non-negotiable for you), plus shiny leather loafers (they looked super expensive), gave the look real intention and practicality. Lastly, an oversized silver floral cuff for an artful flourish to my arm. Head to toe, this is something I would wear for the office, to then take me to after-work dinner and drinks with friends, as it feels slick, stylish and put-together.
